Throughout the process of constructing a magazine, the author learned to use various technologies including Photoshop, Tumblr, PowerPoint, Prezi, and Microsoft Word. Photoshop was the most important and challenging to learn, as the magazine was constructed in Photoshop. Some key Photoshop tools learned were the magnetic lasso tool, magic wand tool, stroke tool, and polygonal tool. Tumblr was also new but proved very useful for researching and documenting the magazine construction process. PowerPoint and Prezi were used to present evaluations, while Word was limited in its usefulness for the project.

2. Technologies used in this process
Throughout this process I have used a variety of different methods
of technologies such as Tumblr, Prezi, PowerPoint presentation,
Slide share, Microsoft word and Photoshop. However, For the
main construction of my magazine I mainly used Photoshop to
ensure that the quality of my editing of my was up to a magazine
standard. I used Tumblr to research and blog the process of
constructing my magazine which was one of the most useful
methods of carrying out my actual research. I used PowerPoint,
Prezi, Microsoft Word and slideshare mainly to present my
research and evaluation .

3. PowerPoint& Slide share
I used PowerPoint and slide share together when presenting my
evaluation questions as at first I was quite unaware of how to
use slideshare and was more comfortable using PowerPoint
presentation as I have used in the past and am very aware of
how to make a presentation. However, when I first started using
slideshare I was quite confused although in the end I did manage
to understand the method and was actually quite easy to
conduct.

4. Prezi
Prezi is another piece of technologies I have learnt on the process of making
this magazine. I used Prezi for the same reason which was to present my
evaluation questions. I found Prezi quite easy to use although being a
beginner on Prezi can be quite difficult as there is not much guide. However,
after working it out it is actually another simple method to use to present
work. So overall I feel I can say that I am quite confident with using this
particular piece of technology.

5. Tumblr
Before creating this magazine I had never used Tumblr before so this was also
another new piece of technology I was introduced to. Therefore, to begin
with Tumblr was slightly confusing for me as I had never used a blog before,
however once I got some guidance from peers in my class i had a full
understanding of how it worked. In which I would post the process of
designing and constructing my magazine. Tumblr is one of the most useful
methods I used while making this magazine because it is were I would post
the development and designing of my magazine but also a useful method I
could gather research from.

6. Microsoft word
Microsoft word was something I was very familiar with before this process and was
one of the things I used to present some research construction on. However, I did not
really use this particular technology so much as it was very limited in what I could
offer me for helping me construct my magazine. Although I did use it to type of my
draft interview for my double page spread.

7. Photoshop
Overall, in this whole process I feel I have become the most confident in
Photoshop in which it is what I have learnt the most about. This was also the
most important as it was were my magazine was going to be conducted which
was vital as I my magazine had to look conventional. In my opinion I felt
Photoshop was the most challenging of the technologies that I have learnt to
use throughout the process. This is because It was new to me and something I
had never used before so I had to learn the basic which I created my
preliminary task for. However, with some help from peers in my class and my
teacher I began to feel a lot more comfortable and learn how to use the
majority of tools in Photoshop such as the magnetic lasso tool, magic wand
tool, line tool, stroke and the Polygonal tool.

8. Magic Wand tool
One tool I used on constructing my magazine was the magic Wand this tool crops out
colours and it creates a selection of pixels which are similar in colour to the point
where you clicked. I used this tool mainly on my the masthead of my front cover and
contents page. In which I got these mastheads from Dafont.com using the font Rakoon.
Therefore, I used the magic wand as it would have had a background of white which I
cropped out with the magic wand tool.

cut out the background and change the
colours around.

9. Magnetic Lasso
Magnetic lasso tool- This tools allows me to crop around an image to get the a
sharp finish to cut out an image. It also gets rid of the background on an
image, for example I used this tool on most of my images like my front cover.

10. Stroke
Stroke tool has been is used to outline the outside of text which I
experimented on the masthead of my contents page. However, I felt it did not
suit the style of my magazine. This was quite an easy and simple tool to use
on Photoshop.

11. Polygonal tool
Polygonal tool is used to sharpen the finish of a picture. Which I
often used if I had cut out an image using the magnetic lasso
tool.

cut around her hair to give it a
sharper finish.
