The BMTC (Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation) implemented a smart card fare collection solution in partnership with financial institutions. This innovative model involves banks issuing co-branded prepaid travel cards to commuters that can be used to pay fares on BMTC services and make purchases from other merchants. This reduces capital costs for BMTC while generating additional revenue from transaction fees. The model offers benefits like widespread card acceptance, reduced investment, potential revenue sharing, and common mobility across transit modes.

Smart transit payment for university campus transportation using RFID card sy...IJECEIAES
In the transportation business, we aim to be cost-efficient and effective in our customer service but with the traditional transit payment system, it is not so. Lately, transit companies all over the world are moving towards superior client service, nimbleness, receptiveness to necessities that diverge at a time scale that was absurd even two decades ago. The aim of this study was to create an electronic transit payment system that will allow for full pliability and solutions functionality that Covenant Universities and Nigerian transit companies should adopt to become more effective and efficient. We achieved this with the use of radio frequency identification (RFID) smart cards and card readers aiding a computer program that was programmed using C#. In addition, the program was simple and not expensive to implement in order to eliminate the mismanagement of ticket funds, loiter paper in bus stations, and so on. Together all this became our payment system.

Tailored Public Transportation: a strong digital upgrade powered by iBeaconsOnyx Beacon
Public transport will no longer be a service provided to an undefined crowd, but will become a customized benefit delivered to each individual traveler. The companies in this sector can take advantage of digital capabilities based on iBeacon technology and deliver tailored services and a customized comfortable experiences for their clients.
We started by placing 500 iBeacons in buses in Bucharest, providing routing, guidance and assistance for 12000 visually impaired users, through a acompletely integrated mobile solution (June-September 2015). Our project has aroused the attention of transportation companies and, based on their suggestions and technical requests, we are now ready to deliver the Extended Version of our Smart Public Transport solution, which will serve all categories of passengers and will offer the chance for transportation companies to address each customer individually.
The solution is using micro-location, contextual communication and presence detection based on iBeacons and will be able to provide 16 new functionalities (accessible out of the box or easily customizable), such as: tailored pricing, individual route (re)calculation, fleet + traffic + comfort optimization, groups + individuals monitoring, safety & security, class validation, cross & up-selling or contextual advertising.
Smart Public Transport project - Onyx Beacon - 2015Onyx Beacon
An initial fleet of 40 Enterprise iBeacons was installed in late May 2015 by the Onyx Beacon technical team on all buses and trolleybuses circulating in Bucharest, Romania on two public transport lines. This moment marks the first phase of deployment in real field conditions for the Smart Public Transport project, an integrated technological solution created by Onyx Beacon.
The solution will use an infrastructure of 500 iBeacons and will guide people with visual disabilities to independently use the public transport network in the Romanian capital area, without having a personal assistant, and without relying on other passengers or the transportation company personnel.

Findings have shown that those who use public transportation instead of their automobile reduce their daily carbon emissions and makes significant
contributions to environmental health. This presentation will address improving operational efficiencies to provide increased mobility and reduce environmental consequences; and discuss stakeholder safety and ridership satisfaction which has been recognized by transit agencies as having a significant impact on attractiveness of transit to many current and prospective riders.

Russian anarchist and anti-war movement in the third year of full-scale warAntti Rautiainen
Anarchist group ANA Regensburg hosted my online-presentation on 16th of May 2024, in which I discussed tactics of anti-war activism in Russia, and reasons why the anti-war movement has not been able to make an impact to change the course of events yet. Cases of anarchists repressed for anti-war activities are presented, as well as strategies of support for political prisoners, and modest successes in supporting their struggles.

Up the Ratios Bylaws - a Comprehensive Process of Our Organizationuptheratios
Up the Ratios is a non-profit organization dedicated to bridging the gap in STEM education for underprivileged students by providing free, high-quality learning opportunities in robotics and other STEM fields. Our mission is to empower the next generation of innovators, thinkers, and problem-solvers by offering a range of educational programs that foster curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
At Up the Ratios, we believe that every student, regardless of their socio-economic background, should have access to the tools and knowledge needed to succeed in today's technology-driven world. To achieve this, we host a variety of free classes, workshops, summer camps, and live lectures tailored to students from underserved communities. Our programs are designed to be engaging and hands-on, allowing students to explore the exciting world of robotics and STEM through practical, real-world applications.
Our free classes cover fundamental concepts in robotics, coding, and engineering, providing students with a strong foundation in these critical areas. Through our interactive workshops, students can dive deeper into specific topics, working on projects that challenge them to apply what they've learned and think creatively. Our summer camps offer an immersive experience where students can collaborate on larger projects, develop their teamwork skills, and gain confidence in their abilities.
In addition to our local programs, Up the Ratios is committed to making a global impact. We take donations of new and gently used robotics parts, which we then distribute to students and educational institutions in other countries. These donations help ensure that young learners worldwide have the resources they need to explore and excel in STEM fields. By supporting education in this way, we aim to nurture a global community of future leaders and innovators.
Our live lectures feature guest speakers from various STEM disciplines, including engineers, scientists, and industry professionals who share their knowledge and experiences with our students. These lectures provide valuable insights into potential career paths and inspire students to pursue their passions in STEM.
Up the Ratios relies on the generosity of donors and volunteers to continue our work. Contributions of time, expertise, and financial support are crucial to sustaining our programs and expanding our reach. Whether you're an individual passionate about education, a professional in the STEM field, or a company looking to give back to the community, there are many ways to get involved and make a difference.
We are proud of the positive impact we've had on the lives of countless students, many of whom have gone on to pursue higher education and careers in STEM. By providing these young minds with the tools and opportunities they need to succeed, we are not only changing their futures but also contributing to the advancement of technology and innovation on a broader scale.

card to its customers (transit commuters)
• The EMVbased smart cards can be accepted on transit

• The same card can be used on network of other
payment methods like RuPay at any merchant outlet
• Model is convenient for a commuter as Transit Card acts
as an ‘eWallet‘ that can be used for all payment needs
as single media
• Model also aids customer to gain loyalty points for
