The use of the bold,
capital fonts are what
will be on my magazine
cover the colour scheme
will also be focusing on
black or white fonts but
I will also use this similar
idea of the title
matching the clothing. I
also want the slogans
and ‘18 summer’ to be
similar in my magazine.
The mise en scene of
her facial expressions
seem fearless also
creates a sharp, bright
mood. This makes the
audience want to buy it
because it may inspire
the audience and the
use of ‘18 ways’ can
help the audience out
with a list of different
ways to achieve this.
This magazine cover
is an existing image in
which will be similar
to my own, the
background is a plain,
creamy colour the
use of the models
close up on her face
is very similar on
what my main focus
will also be the angle
of the images are the
same with the
position of her hand
on her face.
The colours used are
soft on her skin this is
similar to what I want
to create, gold
tanned skin makeup
look for the audience.
Existing Product
This poster is a very
similar idea in which I
want to create, the
background idea is the
makeup separated out
The colour scheme will be
saturated colours just like
the one in this example
poster, like bright
eyeshadow palettes and
lipsticks because this was
the most voted on my
survey for my audience.
The fonts are in
capitals which will
also be on the front
of my poster-this will
be my brand logo on
the front. I will have
images in the logo for
my audience.
I would also feature ‘up to 30% off’ something
similar to this to attract my audience towards
the makeup brand and makes them want to buy
it because you are getting money of designer
and luxurious makeup which will save money
and become a lot more affordable for the
audience.
Existing Product
This photography makeup portfolio is
similar to what I am wanting to create
because the angles of the photos are
close ups of the different makeup
looks.
The lighting also makes the makeup
looks stand out with a dark
background. The colour schemes are
bright eyeshadow looks which I really
like, this makes the audience want to
buy the makeup products as they are
shown on models and how it actually
looks and turns out. I will also include
some of the makeup products within
the portfolio so the audience can also
see the products.
The mise en scene facial expressions are serious and they are posing. The look is a
tanned glow skin look which is very similar to the looks which I will be creating with
eye looks.
Existing Product
This magazine front
cover is a 1900
historical product
which will be similar
to my magazine cover
this is because it
includes the makeup
products of the
lipstick on the front
with a photo of the
model wearing the
lipstick this is very
similar to mine.
The colour scheme is
quite natural with
hints of saturated
colours within, the
use of the large bold
fonts in black is also
similar as this is on
my magazine cover.
The use of the
description of the
lipstick gives out
information this
makes the audience
want to buy it
because they already
have an idea of the
product. The
audience for this
magazine would be
females, aimed
working professional
women aged 25-40
I also really like the
idea of the effects
around the lipsticks
which looks like
white clouds this will
be similar to mine as
I can use Photoshop
to create something
like this.
Research Analysis
• What common features do the researched products have?
– The common features of my existing products is that they all
have a natural glow colour scheme and a feminine colour
palette, these shots are also all mostly close up of the
models makeup. They all include similar fonts which are
large, capital, bold this really grabs the audiences attention.
• What aspects of the research will you include within your on
work?
-within my own work the aspects in which I will include will be
the backgrounds of these examples, close up of the makeup
looks I will also include similar layouts because they will look
more professional and relate to the actual product. The use of
the fonts will also be included in my work because they stand
out and will attract my audience.

  • 2. Existing Product The use of the bold, capital fonts are what will be on my magazine cover the colour scheme will also be focusing on black or white fonts but I will also use this similar idea of the title matching the clothing. I also want the slogans and ‘18 summer’ to be similar in my magazine. The mise en scene of her facial expressions seem fearless also creates a sharp, bright mood. This makes the audience want to buy it because it may inspire the audience and the use of ‘18 ways’ can help the audience out with a list of different ways to achieve this. This magazine cover is an existing image in which will be similar to my own, the background is a plain, creamy colour the use of the models close up on her face is very similar on what my main focus will also be the angle of the images are the same with the position of her hand on her face. The colours used are soft on her skin this is similar to what I want to create, gold tanned skin makeup look for the audience.
  • 3. Existing Product This poster is a very similar idea in which I want to create, the background idea is the makeup separated out The colour scheme will be saturated colours just like the one in this example poster, like bright eyeshadow palettes and lipsticks because this was the most voted on my survey for my audience. The fonts are in capitals which will also be on the front of my poster-this will be my brand logo on the front. I will have images in the logo for my audience. I would also feature ‘up to 30% off’ something similar to this to attract my audience towards the makeup brand and makes them want to buy it because you are getting money of designer and luxurious makeup which will save money and become a lot more affordable for the audience.
  • 4. Existing Product This photography makeup portfolio is similar to what I am wanting to create because the angles of the photos are close ups of the different makeup looks. The lighting also makes the makeup looks stand out with a dark background. The colour schemes are bright eyeshadow looks which I really like, this makes the audience want to buy the makeup products as they are shown on models and how it actually looks and turns out. I will also include some of the makeup products within the portfolio so the audience can also see the products. The mise en scene facial expressions are serious and they are posing. The look is a tanned glow skin look which is very similar to the looks which I will be creating with eye looks.
