Working Title:
Mental
Audience:
My primary audience’s age will be 16-19 years of age because I am making this for myself and
other people like me who find mental illness interesting and or have mental illnesses also they
could just be there for the pure fact at how it is a game and it could be fun. My secondary audience
age range will be between 20-25 years of age because they might find mental health something
important to them and if not they can still enjoy games anyone can. My primary audience’s gender
will be male because as I said I am making this for myself and people like myself and that is really
just because I like to play games in my free time. My secondary audience will be female because
as most mental health memes say teenage girls are more likely to think they have depression or
something of the sort. My primary audience for social status will be upper middle class because
they are like me and take a lot of things for granted and see okay situations as something much
worse than it really is. My secondary audience will be lower upper class as they have the same
issue they take things for granted and make situations seem massive. My primary psychographic
audience will be socially conscious type B because they are the people to most likely to think
everything is worthless themselves and others included. My secondary psychographic audience
will be the emulator because they are like me have very low self-esteem and can be quite judgeful.
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc. Use the
Audience Classifications PowerPoint on Blackboard to help you develop this section.
Why would your project appeal to this person? Discuss each audience element in relation to
content (why would your product appeal to the age group? Why would your product appeal to the
gender? Etc.)
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
For each and every project I think I have done a small bit of pixel art ranging from video game to
print with all the practice I am becoming slightly faster at it also I have learnt to start the animation
at the beginning rather than half way through so it doesn’t screw anything up in the long run also
whenever you are creating a new game create the walk cycles first and the character itself so then
you know what size to make the map compared to the characters and it also helps my decision
when I got my best grades from video game the only thing that let me down were the experiments.
Review your progress throughout the year- what skills and knowledge have you acquired?
How has the subjects you have studied this year informed your choice for this project?
What have you studied and how will it have a direct impact upon your project?
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
The game starts off with an old man walking through some medieval city all of a sudden he splits
into 3 different people a pauper a knight which promptly disappears along with the old man leaving
the pauper to fend for himself hiding and attacking when necessary his monster which is the
physical incarnation of his mental illness which is anxiety all this is still taking place in the streets of
the city, then it comes day if you survive and the cycle begins again the old man is walking splits
and this time the pauper and the old man disappear and the city scape turns into a forest where
the knight fights against his monster the mental illness which is going to take longer as he has to
deal with anger issues and anxiety anger issues will be massive and anxiety will be small and fast
once you defeat the two of them this part ends and the old man starts walking the streets again but
this time he doesn’t split but he has the knight and the pauper on his shoulders and the
background changes to the ruins of an old castle and he his hiding away from anger issues,
anxiety and depression this part will be made intentionally impossible to show you can’t hide away
and it will end with the old man walking off of a cliff with grief of depression anxiety and anger
issues weighing on him. I will need to do research on mental health and architecture to help my
project.
What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make?
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project/

Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
I plan to evaluate my work on detail, speed and story line for the production and I am planning on
doing a weekly work diary for this project which will range from the typing work to the production
however during the production I will be doing a daily work diary just to note down changes to the
project how concentrated I have been on the work or how I practically did nothing. Constantly
throughout this project though I will be asking teachers and friends what they think of the work I am
making just to get some feedback on what I could improve.
How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation and your final
self-reflection, analysing your work and its outcomes.
