1. I wentto the Aestheticashortfilmfestival withYorkcollegemainlytosee the VRlabsandthe VFX
masterclassatthe end.
At the beginningwe wenttothe openingnightre runswhichwere mostlyshortfilmswithsome
musicvideosandsome shortfilmmixed withsome animation,mostof the shortfilmswere rubbish
because theyweren’tvisuallygreatandthe storyand the characters were unrelatable.However,the
animationandthe musicvideoswere visuallyinterestingbutthe animationwasthe onlyone thatI
foundhada goodpointto getacross.
The nextthingthat we wentto see wasthe VR labwhichcouldhave beenbetterthan itwas because
the firstvideotheyshoweddidn’tevenreallyneedtobe inVR andthe secondone wasfairlycool
but myeye sightgot a bitblurryat the endand soI couldn’treallyconcentrate onthe lastone.
Thenwe wentto the ManchesterShort filmshowingbythe universitystudentsthereandthe
majorityof themdrawnout too longthere wasverylittle inthe wayof good storyand veryfew bits
and characterswere relatable atall and I couldn’twaittoleave before the Q andA.
The last thingthat I wenttosee was the masterclasswhichwasthe Industrial lightingandmagic
where theytalkedusthroughthe scenesandwhattheydidto an extent withall the lighting
texturingandall the skeletonsthattheyhadto do forspidermanfar from home howeverIdidhave
to missthe Q and A on that unfortunatelyaswell.
The main thingsthatI learnedcame fromthe ILM studiomasterclasswhichwasmainlyshowinghow
theytexturedcharactersforspidermanfar fromhome but the othermainthingtheytalkedabout
was the lightingsoIfeel asif I had learnta little bitfromthe daysexperience.
