Experiment
• When the cloaked man reached his destination it appeared to be a chapel out in
the boonies. With sword in hand he slowly marches up the stairs towards the
doors, his face covered by cloth so no one knew his face. When he reached the
door he gave it a slight knock with the end of his sword. Which no one originally
answered but after a few minutes of repeatedly knocking on the door with the hilt
of his sword eventually a plump and slightly rounded man garbed in a monks
clothing. He ran back into the chapel almost immediately after opening the door in
the vain attempt to escape his predator, but in his hurry he tripped over himself
and started to crawl away as fast as the fat monk could go. Yet for all of his
attempts to escape they were all useless and he still found himself at the end of
the cloaked mas sword which quickly impaled the monks stomach. As life escaped
from what appeared to be the monk his body started to morph to a thin devil like
figure with his rib cage sticking through its skin and you can visibly see its heart
beating incredibly quickly. Yet the demon still lives with a devilish smile plastered
across its face, to free itself from the blade the demon tried to scratch the cloaked
mans face who evaded it with ease but had to leave the sword with in the demons
body which was slowly but surely failing it.
Experiment Analysis
• It was difficult to think up of ideas and I believe that
the idea that I came up with it should have been much
longer and thus I think maybe I should have added
more detail to the actual chase scene than just oh
there is a predator and he is chasing the prey and the
prey turns out to be superhuman see I could sum it up
with in just a few words. So I feel as if there should
have been more description and less story with in that
small little area , however I feel as if the first example
for the experiment was fantastic though because it
actually just used description as it was a sort of
almanac explanation.
Example of what I would have liked to
have done with the game if it was

Experiment Analysis
• For these experiments I was trying to sort out some sort of pacing for the
character and the story and I found out that slow and sombre is the way to
go for this project however in some cases I will need to speed up the pace
of the sound track to fit some of the action sequences however when you
are out of those action sequences, where things are frantic and chaotic
you need to create some space for the main overarching plot which is
much slower and concise and in some cases it may need to sound dark,
sad but in some cases it can be quite upbeat but only towards the end.
This experiment was really to help me out with pacing however it has also
helped me to set the tone to an extent as well. Beyond all of that though it
has also helped me to realize that if I used actual instruments the song will
probably be even more crisp and it will probably more a kin to what I want
to make if I make the music by playing the instruments rather than using
programs such as garage band. However I no longer have my drum set so I
will have to do some random bits and pieces through programs such as
audacity or garage band.
Explanation for Experiment
• For this experiment I will be looking into the use
of the 3D with in my project when it comes down
to the 3D element I was going to be using the
Unreal or is it the Unity engine but either way I
will be trying to create some 3D assets which and
for the art style I will try and use pixel art in a 3D
manor but I think it might be too difficult to do
when it comes down to the final project so I
might put a spin on it and make it 2D but look 3D
in Photoshop which will be much easier.

Explanation for Experiment
• For this experiment I will be looking at different ways of
drawing art with pixel art and also I will be looking at colour
to see whether a vary of colour is good or if a monotone
colour palate gets my point across better. Here is an
example of some previous works which are similar to what I
want to create.
Experiment
Experiment Summary
• Even though I pretty much used the exact same art style I still think it
looks much better this way because some of my smaller characters ended
up being very pixelated and you could barely make out any extra small
details I may have added where-as with this art style I am able to convey
just about every little characteristic I may or may not want to use for my
characters such as if I wanted to add scars to the character or if I wanted
to add tattoos or even emblems on to clothes I will be able to add it all
and even more so I don’t really think that a different art style is necessary
and I will most likely be using this art style for my final product. As for the
colour though I found out that I need a bit of both but the colours I used
to an extent the middle one was more to dictate it was a good character
who is on the main characters side, on the left that character is more of a
faction character there to protect certain factions and NPC’s with in the
factions they are protecting. As of the one on the left it is quite awkward
because that is what I would use as the main character however when you
look at the character design he doesn’t particularly look like a common
hero how ever he looks good as a design but looks more like a thief or an
assassin.
Resources
• Garage band for creating some music depending on whether or not I can record
some music of my own.
• Beep Box for creating music if garage band becomes impossible to use.
• Photoshop is to create some of my characters that I had created with in my stories
that are going to be the backbone of this product.
• Microsoft Word is to write down the story which is going to be the centre piece of
my product.
• Guitar for playing some music if I can get some recordings done for the music.
• Recording software to create some music but I don’t know if I will need it for sure
as it depends whether it works or not.
• Unreal could be a resource that I use because it is a piece of 3D software which I
could be using potentially for my designs.
• Unity could be a resource that I use because it is a piece of 3D software which I
could potentially be using for my designs. I can’t remember if it is Unreal or Unity
that is the 3D software.
• Computer to be able to use a majority of this software
• Laptop to be able to use a majority of this software
Contingency
• My memory stick or certain files could become corrupted or lost easily however to
counter act this I will be saving my work in multiple different places and then if
that didn’t work I would have to be able to work more to be able to catch up on all
of my work that I had lost.
• Also I could have problems with my script and writing about characters or have a
problem with my almanacs or bestiary accounts and I may or may not need some
help with some of how my ideas read to others as to me it will make sense like
usual but then to others it doesn’t make any sense.
• Some of the software that I use could fail and crash and thus lose all of my
progress from that day which just means to avoid this I should save frequently
through out the day to make sure I retain some work but then I would have to do
the bit that I didn’t save again which is the only down side but I don’t think that
you can recover work that has been lost with in the crashes.
• Some of my work could not record properly what I mean by that is when and if I
decide to play some guitar I will have to use something to record the music that I
play and usually I am not to good at sound quality when it comes down to
recording audio so I have no idea how it will turn out. I could fix this by doing
multiple recordings to make sure that my audio isn’t too loud or too close to the
recording equipment.
Contingency
• I could become ill and fall behind with my work so either I will have
to work in my own time to catch up but beyond that if I could I will
probably work whilst I am ill as well but only if I could.
• If I didn’t understand how to use some certain techniques when it
comes down to the production stage I will have to search the
production method on YouTube and follow a few different
workshops to fully understand the technique and then I will have to
add what I did in those workshops to my experiments to expand on
my pre-production and planning stages.
• If you start to realize that you want to procrastinate work through
that feeling but don’t push yourself to work in your own time
because it won’t be adequate work to get the high grades that you
want and then hopefully that gets cured quickly and then you can
start working to your fullest again.
Health and Safety
• Repetitive strain could be caused by doing the same action over and over again in
the same way. You can easily fix this by either taking a break to get rid of the pain
or try moving in a different way.
• Posture could be caused by working in an awkward position or slouching a lot
other example could be lying down. This can easily be fixed by either taking a
break or sitting upright whilst working.
• Sore eyes could be caused by working for too long or staring at monitors without
blinking for a long time. This could be easily fixed by blinking every once in a while
or taking a break from working.
• Migraines could be caused by over working, under sleeping or not having enough
sugar in your system. This could be easily fixed by taking a break, sleeping 8 hours
a night and always making sure you have had enough sugar but not too much.
• Cramps could be easily explained by resting in one place for too long or doing the
same movements over and over again but beyond that there are normal cramps
such as eating too much too quickly. This could easily be fixed by not sitting in the
same place for too long or by trying to do different movements as easy as moving
your arms whilst typing, the other fix is to not eat too much too quickly or just take
a break from work and wait to feel alright again.
Production Schedule
• As of week one I will be trying to make my story and backstories for the characters and also create the main story
line but beyond this I don’t think that this should pose too much of a problem to me but if it turns out to be a
problem I will have to use my free time to work even further on this.
• As of week two I will be finishing my creation of the backstories and all of the information for all of the demons,
monsters and settings and then I might also have to draw some of the characters and creations this might prove to
be a problem as I am not very strong when it comes down to finishing off the stories I create. I also have a
problem probably when it comes down to drawing my characters I will only be able to fix this by either spending
more time on this.
• As of week three I will be trying to create more of the companions and enemies as well as their back stories this
could be a massive problem for me as I rarely think about other people than the main protagonist and antagonist.
The other issue is that I might find a reason to put it away and not think about it for the rest of the project as I
could be quite lazy with this.
• As of week four I will be creating all of the designs for the creatures and monster and then on top of all of that I
will be creating the bestiaries for all of these creatures and monsters I will probably have the same issues as in the
third week with laziness and poor understanding of story writing could affect my product.
• As of week five I will be creating my settings such as the forests and the desolate lands and also the bios hopefully
for the certain areas however I think that I might have some difficulty with the backstories for the areas because
having large forest areas next to some desolate mountainous regions wouldn’t make much sense and then there is
the issue of laziness coming in again.
• As of week six I will be going over everything that I had created and polish it up a bit the only issue I could have
with this is my laziness and then there are all of the issues that I have brought up before that could come back
potentially.
• Through out this whole production I will be creating log/ diary of my production and how it turned out so
everyone who has read it will understand the problems I had encountered and how I had fixed this.

Problem solving

  • 5. Experiment • When the cloaked man reached his destination it appeared to be a chapel out in the boonies. With sword in hand he slowly marches up the stairs towards the doors, his face covered by cloth so no one knew his face. When he reached the door he gave it a slight knock with the end of his sword. Which no one originally answered but after a few minutes of repeatedly knocking on the door with the hilt of his sword eventually a plump and slightly rounded man garbed in a monks clothing. He ran back into the chapel almost immediately after opening the door in the vain attempt to escape his predator, but in his hurry he tripped over himself and started to crawl away as fast as the fat monk could go. Yet for all of his attempts to escape they were all useless and he still found himself at the end of the cloaked mas sword which quickly impaled the monks stomach. As life escaped from what appeared to be the monk his body started to morph to a thin devil like figure with his rib cage sticking through its skin and you can visibly see its heart beating incredibly quickly. Yet the demon still lives with a devilish smile plastered across its face, to free itself from the blade the demon tried to scratch the cloaked mans face who evaded it with ease but had to leave the sword with in the demons body which was slowly but surely failing it.
  • 6. Experiment Analysis • It was difficult to think up of ideas and I believe that the idea that I came up with it should have been much longer and thus I think maybe I should have added more detail to the actual chase scene than just oh there is a predator and he is chasing the prey and the prey turns out to be superhuman see I could sum it up with in just a few words. So I feel as if there should have been more description and less story with in that small little area , however I feel as if the first example for the experiment was fantastic though because it actually just used description as it was a sort of almanac explanation.
  • 7. Example of what I would have liked to have done with the game if it was created • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72S2aAxt ZOs • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aP8c1q- uiqM
  • 9. Experiment Analysis • For these experiments I was trying to sort out some sort of pacing for the character and the story and I found out that slow and sombre is the way to go for this project however in some cases I will need to speed up the pace of the sound track to fit some of the action sequences however when you are out of those action sequences, where things are frantic and chaotic you need to create some space for the main overarching plot which is much slower and concise and in some cases it may need to sound dark, sad but in some cases it can be quite upbeat but only towards the end. This experiment was really to help me out with pacing however it has also helped me to set the tone to an extent as well. Beyond all of that though it has also helped me to realize that if I used actual instruments the song will probably be even more crisp and it will probably more a kin to what I want to make if I make the music by playing the instruments rather than using programs such as garage band. However I no longer have my drum set so I will have to do some random bits and pieces through programs such as audacity or garage band.
  • 10. Explanation for Experiment • For this experiment I will be looking into the use of the 3D with in my project when it comes down to the 3D element I was going to be using the Unreal or is it the Unity engine but either way I will be trying to create some 3D assets which and for the art style I will try and use pixel art in a 3D manor but I think it might be too difficult to do when it comes down to the final project so I might put a spin on it and make it 2D but look 3D in Photoshop which will be much easier.
  • 14. Explanation for Experiment • For this experiment I will be looking at different ways of drawing art with pixel art and also I will be looking at colour to see whether a vary of colour is good or if a monotone colour palate gets my point across better. Here is an example of some previous works which are similar to what I want to create.
  • 16. Experiment Summary • Even though I pretty much used the exact same art style I still think it looks much better this way because some of my smaller characters ended up being very pixelated and you could barely make out any extra small details I may have added where-as with this art style I am able to convey just about every little characteristic I may or may not want to use for my characters such as if I wanted to add scars to the character or if I wanted to add tattoos or even emblems on to clothes I will be able to add it all and even more so I don’t really think that a different art style is necessary and I will most likely be using this art style for my final product. As for the colour though I found out that I need a bit of both but the colours I used to an extent the middle one was more to dictate it was a good character who is on the main characters side, on the left that character is more of a faction character there to protect certain factions and NPC’s with in the factions they are protecting. As of the one on the left it is quite awkward because that is what I would use as the main character however when you look at the character design he doesn’t particularly look like a common hero how ever he looks good as a design but looks more like a thief or an assassin.
  • 17. Resources • Garage band for creating some music depending on whether or not I can record some music of my own. • Beep Box for creating music if garage band becomes impossible to use. • Photoshop is to create some of my characters that I had created with in my stories that are going to be the backbone of this product. • Microsoft Word is to write down the story which is going to be the centre piece of my product. • Guitar for playing some music if I can get some recordings done for the music. • Recording software to create some music but I don’t know if I will need it for sure as it depends whether it works or not. • Unreal could be a resource that I use because it is a piece of 3D software which I could be using potentially for my designs. • Unity could be a resource that I use because it is a piece of 3D software which I could potentially be using for my designs. I can’t remember if it is Unreal or Unity that is the 3D software. • Computer to be able to use a majority of this software • Laptop to be able to use a majority of this software
  • 18. Contingency • My memory stick or certain files could become corrupted or lost easily however to counter act this I will be saving my work in multiple different places and then if that didn’t work I would have to be able to work more to be able to catch up on all of my work that I had lost. • Also I could have problems with my script and writing about characters or have a problem with my almanacs or bestiary accounts and I may or may not need some help with some of how my ideas read to others as to me it will make sense like usual but then to others it doesn’t make any sense. • Some of the software that I use could fail and crash and thus lose all of my progress from that day which just means to avoid this I should save frequently through out the day to make sure I retain some work but then I would have to do the bit that I didn’t save again which is the only down side but I don’t think that you can recover work that has been lost with in the crashes. • Some of my work could not record properly what I mean by that is when and if I decide to play some guitar I will have to use something to record the music that I play and usually I am not to good at sound quality when it comes down to recording audio so I have no idea how it will turn out. I could fix this by doing multiple recordings to make sure that my audio isn’t too loud or too close to the recording equipment.
  • 19. Contingency • I could become ill and fall behind with my work so either I will have to work in my own time to catch up but beyond that if I could I will probably work whilst I am ill as well but only if I could. • If I didn’t understand how to use some certain techniques when it comes down to the production stage I will have to search the production method on YouTube and follow a few different workshops to fully understand the technique and then I will have to add what I did in those workshops to my experiments to expand on my pre-production and planning stages. • If you start to realize that you want to procrastinate work through that feeling but don’t push yourself to work in your own time because it won’t be adequate work to get the high grades that you want and then hopefully that gets cured quickly and then you can start working to your fullest again.
  • 20. Health and Safety • Repetitive strain could be caused by doing the same action over and over again in the same way. You can easily fix this by either taking a break to get rid of the pain or try moving in a different way. • Posture could be caused by working in an awkward position or slouching a lot other example could be lying down. This can easily be fixed by either taking a break or sitting upright whilst working. • Sore eyes could be caused by working for too long or staring at monitors without blinking for a long time. This could be easily fixed by blinking every once in a while or taking a break from working. • Migraines could be caused by over working, under sleeping or not having enough sugar in your system. This could be easily fixed by taking a break, sleeping 8 hours a night and always making sure you have had enough sugar but not too much. • Cramps could be easily explained by resting in one place for too long or doing the same movements over and over again but beyond that there are normal cramps such as eating too much too quickly. This could easily be fixed by not sitting in the same place for too long or by trying to do different movements as easy as moving your arms whilst typing, the other fix is to not eat too much too quickly or just take a break from work and wait to feel alright again.
  • 21. Production Schedule • As of week one I will be trying to make my story and backstories for the characters and also create the main story line but beyond this I don’t think that this should pose too much of a problem to me but if it turns out to be a problem I will have to use my free time to work even further on this. • As of week two I will be finishing my creation of the backstories and all of the information for all of the demons, monsters and settings and then I might also have to draw some of the characters and creations this might prove to be a problem as I am not very strong when it comes down to finishing off the stories I create. I also have a problem probably when it comes down to drawing my characters I will only be able to fix this by either spending more time on this. • As of week three I will be trying to create more of the companions and enemies as well as their back stories this could be a massive problem for me as I rarely think about other people than the main protagonist and antagonist. The other issue is that I might find a reason to put it away and not think about it for the rest of the project as I could be quite lazy with this. • As of week four I will be creating all of the designs for the creatures and monster and then on top of all of that I will be creating the bestiaries for all of these creatures and monsters I will probably have the same issues as in the third week with laziness and poor understanding of story writing could affect my product. • As of week five I will be creating my settings such as the forests and the desolate lands and also the bios hopefully for the certain areas however I think that I might have some difficulty with the backstories for the areas because having large forest areas next to some desolate mountainous regions wouldn’t make much sense and then there is the issue of laziness coming in again. • As of week six I will be going over everything that I had created and polish it up a bit the only issue I could have with this is my laziness and then there are all of the issues that I have brought up before that could come back potentially. • Through out this whole production I will be creating log/ diary of my production and how it turned out so everyone who has read it will understand the problems I had encountered and how I had fixed this.
