Market systems in the areas surveyed have the capacity to supply the population with essential goods – food, hygiene items and medicines.
Key findings:
• In some peripheral locations non-availability of all goods was indicated
• High price is reported as the main barrier in accessing markets
• Price levels for all commodity groups are mostly perceived as high
• Broader areas with lower and higher price level for basic goods were identified.
• Solid fuel appeared to be unavailable in some semi-peripheral locations and mostly unavailable in periphery
• Financial institutions are operational in sub-centers and in semi-periphery and are mostly unavailable in peripheral locations
• No major difficulties with supply of food and essential hygiene goods were indicated in market sub-centers and semi-periphery.
• Transportation difficulties were reported in the majority of peripheral locations.
• The majority of customers in all locations chose to purchase the cheapest food and hygiene items from the list proposed.
• The majority of traders across all sectors and markets deliver goods from local suppliers either at rayon or at oblast level
• 95% of traders across all sectors underlined selling Ukrainian products
