Number Name Brief Description
1 Compliance All marketing communications should be legal, decent, honest and
truthful. (Don’t lie, don’t break the law and don’t include any
images that may be considered indecent.)
2 Recognition of
marketing
communications
Make sure material is clearly identifiable as marketing
communications/ advertisements/ advertorials. (It needs to look
like an advert, include logos, slogans, images, explicitly state the
product.)
3 Misleading Adverts The ASA may take the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading
Regulations 2008 into account when it adjudicates on complaints
about marketing communications. (You cannot lie about the
product, its abilities/ functions or price.)
4 Harm and Offence The advert cannot set out to intentionally offend a particular
person or social group, it cannot set out to intentionally offend
anyone on grounds of disturbing imagery or content.
5 Children You cannot promote dangerous behaviour in children, neither can
you pressure children to buy your products. (This must be consider
if your advert could be seen by children, and used by them.)
6 Privacy Marketers must not unfairly portray or refer to anyone in an
adverse or offensive way unless that person has given written
permission to allow it. E.g. Celebrities
13 Food, food supplements
and associated health or
nutritional claims
Marketing communications must not condone or encourage poor
nutritional habits or an unhealthy lifestyle in children or adults.
(You can’t promote poor dietary habits, neither can you promote
that your product has health benefits without proof to back it up.)

We will start with a question to engage the
listener “what is Coke?” followed by
“well Coke is… its… well let me spell it out.”
And the jingle goes… (Music starts)
“ C is for Coke that brings friend together,
O is for open this, (can opening sound)
K is for keeping cool with a cola, (Ice cubes jingle in glass)
E is for enjoy bliss” (Music dies down)

Initial Reaction
• I will have to create a pixel based side scrolling
game for Coca-Cola.
• It must be produced on Photoshop using a
320 (H) by 480 (W) canvas.

- Initial Reaction – Writing your first idea of what you have to make
- Sketches – Sketches and pixel creation of what my idea could look like
- Formal Proposal - Formal written proposal of what your idea is; who
it will be played by, what content it will include etc.

– It allows you to jot down multiple ideas
– You are able to modify your ideas before completing the final
piece.
• Weaknesses of using this method
– Can be time consuming if you are aiming for perfection
– Notes may be needed to organize ideas
– The flow of ideas can be restricted because to much time is
spent aiming for a perfect design

– I like using this method because you are able to plan out your
ideas first which can stimulate new ideas.
Formal Proposal
• Strengths of using this method
– Delivers the required information to be able to do the evaluation
• Weaknesses of using this method
– Its time consuming as it takes awhile to fill out.
• Did you like using this method? Why?
– I didn't like using this method because it is very time consuming, and
requires a great amount of effort and motivation to complete.

  • 2. ASA Codes Number Name Brief Description 1 Compliance All marketing communications should be legal, decent, honest and truthful. (Don’t lie, don’t break the law and don’t include any images that may be considered indecent.) 2 Recognition of marketing communications Make sure material is clearly identifiable as marketing communications/ advertisements/ advertorials. (It needs to look like an advert, include logos, slogans, images, explicitly state the product.) 3 Misleading Adverts The ASA may take the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 into account when it adjudicates on complaints about marketing communications. (You cannot lie about the product, its abilities/ functions or price.) 4 Harm and Offence The advert cannot set out to intentionally offend a particular person or social group, it cannot set out to intentionally offend anyone on grounds of disturbing imagery or content. 5 Children You cannot promote dangerous behaviour in children, neither can you pressure children to buy your products. (This must be consider if your advert could be seen by children, and used by them.) 6 Privacy Marketers must not unfairly portray or refer to anyone in an adverse or offensive way unless that person has given written permission to allow it. E.g. Celebrities 13 Food, food supplements and associated health or nutritional claims Marketing communications must not condone or encourage poor nutritional habits or an unhealthy lifestyle in children or adults. (You can’t promote poor dietary habits, neither can you promote that your product has health benefits without proof to back it up.)

Layout Plan • Strengths of using this method – Helps you to visualise what your final poster will look like, and you can always change your idea. • Weaknesses of using this method – You don’t get much variety. • Did you like using this method? Why? − Yes, as it gives you a visual perspective of the final poster.

Brainstorm • Strengths of using this method – Sharing your ideas in a group also helps to stimulate new ideas. – Its also easy to just write down your ideas on a piece of paper. • Weaknesses of using this method – Because of all of the ideas, it could create and argument if the people In the group don't agree on anything. • Did you like using this method? Why? - Yes, because I like to work in a group as it helps me to produce ideas.
  • 13. Informal Pitch • Strengths of using this method – It gives us an opportunity to have feedback so we can improve our work. • Weaknesses of using this method – Its difficult to present • Did you like using this method? Why? – No, as I didn’t enjoy doing it.

Informal Pitch We will start with a question to engage the listener “what is Coke?” followed by “well Coke is… its… well let me spell it out.” And the jingle goes… (Music starts) “ C is for Coke that brings friend together, O is for open this, (can opening sound) K is for keeping cool with a cola, (Ice cubes jingle in glass) E is for enjoy bliss” (Music dies down) (Coke, You know the one)

Sketches • Strengths of using this method – Easily plan out what you are going to do – It allows you to jot down multiple ideas – You are able to modify your ideas before completing the final piece. • Weaknesses of using this method – Can be time consuming if you are aiming for perfection – Notes may be needed to organize ideas – The flow of ideas can be restricted because to much time is spent aiming for a perfect design • Did you like using this method? Why? – I like using this method because you are able to plan out your ideas first which can stimulate new ideas.
  • 19. Formal Proposal • Strengths of using this method – Delivers the required information to be able to do the evaluation • Weaknesses of using this method – Its time consuming as it takes awhile to fill out. • Did you like using this method? Why? – I didn't like using this method because it is very time consuming, and requires a great amount of effort and motivation to complete.
