A generalized multilevel inverter topology with reduction of total standing v...Asoka Technologies
This paper presents a new multilevel inverter topology with reduced active switches
and total standing voltage. The proposed topology can generate a high number of voltage levels in the symmetric configuration. This topology intuitively generates positive and negative cycles without an additional H-bridge unit, which considerably reduces the total standing voltage of the inverter. A cascaded structure is developed from the proposed topology to create higher voltage levels. To show the novelty of the proposed topology, a thorough comparison between the available and the proposed topologies in terms of the number of switches, standing voltages, and dc-sources is presented. Furthermore, he power loss analysis is carried out for various load values. The feasibility of the proposed nine-level inverter is verified with simulation and experimental results.
Reactive power compensation in radial distribution systemENGTawfigAlmaliky
In distribution networks reactive power flow causes large voltage drop, high power losses and low power factor. These effects can be reduced by optimally installing of shunt capacitors. Compensation of reactive power presents the basic role in power system planning to provide compatible locations of the compensation apparatus to guarantee the minimum cost of compensation with suitable voltage profiles. The optimal allocations and sizing of capacitors in distribution systems are introduced in this project. First the most candidate buses for installing capacitors are suggested using certain index. Then cost function is used to deduce the locations of capacitors and their sizing from the elected buses. The results are discussed to prove the effectiveness of the suggested algorithm to enhance the voltage profiles for distribution system.
A grid connected hybrid generation system (HGS) consisting of wind energy conversion System (WECS)/Photo voltaic (PV) System/solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) is designed and simulated by using Matlab/Simulink. SOFC is the replacement of battery, attached to produce the clean energy when these renewable energy sources are unable to produce required amount of electric power. A controller is used to regulate the flow of H2 through the valveto the SOFC and the rest amount of H2 is stored in storage tank. Also, an operational control strategy (OCS) is developed to utilize maximum amount of power of PV to the required load and rest amount of power is coming from wind to fulfill the load demand. Hence, the electrolyzer is supplied by the wind power to convert the water in to H2 and oxygen. Also the power quality factor (PQF) analysis is exercised to measure the quality of power transmission.

A Technique for Shunt Active Filter meld micro grid SystemIJERA Editor
The proposed system presents a control technique for a micro grid connected hybrid generation system ith case study interfaced with a three phase shunt active filter to suppress the current harmonics and reactive power present in the load using PQ Theory with ANN controller. This Hybrid Micro Grid is developed using freely renewable energy resources like Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) and Wind Energy (WE). To extract the maximum available power from PV panels and wind turbines, Maximum power point Tracker (MPPT) has been included. This MPPT uses the “Standard Perturbs and Observe” technique. By using PQ Theory with ANN Controller, the Reference currents are generated which are to be injected by Shunt active power filter (SAPF)to compensate the current harmonics in the non linear load. Simulation studies shows that the proposed control technique performs non-linear load current harmonic compensation maintaining the load current in phase with the source voltage.
Design and Performance Analysis of Three-Phase Solar PV Integrated UPQCAsoka Technologies
This paper deals with the design and performance analysis of a three-phase single stage solar photovoltaic integrated unified power quality conditioner (PV-UPQC). The PV-UPQC consists of a shunt and series connected voltage compensators connected back to back with common DC-link.The shunt compensator performs the dual function of extracting power from PV array apart from compensating for load current harmonics. An improved synchronous reference frame control based on moving average filter is used for extraction of load active current component for improved performance of the PVUPQC. The series compensator compensates for the grid side power quality problems such as grid voltage sags/swells. The compensator injects voltage in-phase/out of phase with point of common coupling (PCC) voltage during sag and swell conditions respectively. The proposed system combines both the benefits of clean energy generation along with improving power quality. The steady state and dynamic performance of the system are evaluated by simulating in Matlab-Simulink under a nonlinear load. The system performance is then verified using a scaled down laboratory prototype under a number of disturbances such as load unbalancing, PCC voltage sags/swells and irradiation variation.

An enhanced method for human life rescue systemeSAT Journals
Abstract
In the Modern World, Traffic is one of the main problem in our daily life. During Emergency conditions Vehicles like Ambulances
and Fire Controllers are delayed to reach their destination due to the Traffic Jams. Every one minute there will be an accident in
India, which causes loss of lives. This is a wireless module system which generates information from the accident zone to the
ambulance facility very quickly. Traffic blocking and management of free movement of vehicles were recognized as major
problem in modern urban areas. The accidents in the city have been increased due to negligible of rules and rise in motor
vehicles leads to the loss of life. The main idea behind this system is to endow with a flow for the rescue vehicles to reach the
hospitals in moment. The novelty in this paper is to manage the traffic signals in the alleyway of the rescue vehicle. This scheme is
fully programmed, thus it finds the accident point, to be in command of traffic lights, helps to reach the hospital in instance.

Comparison between piezoelectric transformer and electromagnetic transformer ...TELKOMNIKA JOURNAL
This paper presents study, modeling and simulation of the piezoelectric material works as transformer (piezoelectric transformer (PT)) in power electronic circuits, comparisons are made with the regular transformer (iron core) works in the same circuit, the tested circuit is the full bridge converter which used in the simulation as dc power supply circuit. As a result, a detailed simulation for both the piezoelectric transformer and traditional transformer are achieved, as well as the output voltage from the dc power supply is tested by varying the load resistance. The dc power supply circuit has been simulated using PSIM (V9.1) power electronic circuit simulation software.
Its an simple slide through which one could know about energy harvesting through piezo electricity and their future scope. It details about the profit of laying piezo roads through an example.
Piezo is a Greek word derived from “piezein”, which means press or squeeze. Therefore, piezoelectricity means squeezing electricity. Piezoelectricity is the ability of certain crystalline materials to develop an electric charge proportional to a mechanical stress. Materials showing this phenomenon also show the reverse, deformation proportional to an applied voltage.
