This paper proposes a new photovoltaic (PV) interface for direct current (DC) distribution systems that eliminates electrolytic capacitors. The proposed interface improves system reliability and efficiency by removing electrolytic capacitors, reducing costs. It also introduces a new anti-islanding technique using injected current perturbation for protection. Experimental results show the prototype converter achieves over 98% maximum efficiency and the anti-islanding technique detects islanding in under 0.2 seconds with 99.9% average maximum power point tracking efficiency under normal conditions.
