Argumentative Essay On Nuclear Energy
Nuclear energy has been used since 1895 to create weapons that could destroy men by the millions.
Scientists later transformed this destructive weapon into a new form of usable, renewable energy.
Nuclear energy is energy created by harnessing the energy produced by the nuclear reactions that take
place inside the nucleus of the Uranium Isotope 235, ( Nuclear Energy ). Nuclear energy is one
attempt to decrease the rate at which nonrenewable fossil fuels are being consumed. Some believe
nuclear energy to be an environmentally friendly and self sustaining way to produce energy; however,
there are a countless number of social and economically risks to consider; ultimately, the detrimental
effects power plant leaks and explosions have on the human body, the cost it takes to produce the
plants, and the production of nuclear waste, should be enough to persuade one to turn away from using
nuclear energy as a source of power.
The fear of a nuclear power plants is reasonable, considering there were thirty three accidents between
the 1950 s and early 2000 s, (McInnes, Colin). Multiple incidents jeopardized the health of employees
and near by citizens. Six of these incidents happened in the United States, five in Japan, and three in
the United Kingdom and Russia. Thirty five liters of highly enriched Uranium solution leaked during
transfer, in the United Kingdom; more than 100 workers were exposed to one hundred and fifty
millirems of radiation a day in Japan; reactors in

Drug Trafficking In Mexico
Drug trafficking, as an actual problemátic around the world, has been a problem since long time ago,
and Mexico has come into notice around the world for this matter. Since approximately the 19th
century, the world has been worried because of illegal drug trafficking, but in the beginning, drugs
were not illegal and widely used throughout the world as they are today. Laws that banned the
commercialization use of drugs were approved less than 80 years ago in the mayor part of the world´s
countries, In the early 1900 s, drugs were not considered a serious issue, because the government
believed the abuse would not stop if citizens could not get drugs after they were banned, but it would
grow. Among the years, México has been gaining a bad image related with drug trafficking and ...

In 2006, last Mexican President Felipe Calderon proposed an initiative, in partnership with the United
States, wanting to combat the cartels with military force, which significantly escalated violence and
claimed thousands of lives, including civilians. Mexico s drug war has turned violent in recent years,
resulting in tens of thousands of deaths. Law enforcement attempts to put cartels out of business by
arresting key figures have led not to the demise of the drug trade, but to bloody deaths of both guilty
and innocent people, so we come to question the usefulness of this measurements. The drug trade will
mightily continue, no matter how risky or violent the the commercialization of it gets. In Afghanistan,
illicit opium (a substance derived by collecting and drying the milky juice that comes from the seed

impossible to achieve. It is noticeable that the bigger it gets, the more difficult it is to

The Hitler Youth Propaganda Poster
The Hitler Youth
Jungsturm Adolf Hitler
Hitler Youth Propaganda poster
In 1920, Adolf Hitler, authorized the formation of a Youth League of the National Socialist Workers
Party (NSDAP) based upon the principles of an earlier German youth group known as as the
Wandervögel. The Wandervögel (translated as Migratory Bird ) were the German equivalent of the
Boy Scouts of America and the World Organization of the Scout Movement.
Wandervögel members had an idealistic, romantic notion of the past, yearning for simpler days when
people lived off the land. Wandervögel members distinguished themselves by wearing shorts and
hiking boots rather than the starched shirts and creased trousers of the middle class. They believed in
the importance of rediscovering nature without any modern conveniences. They sang old German folk
songs around the campfire and greeting each other by saying Heil.
This new Nazi Youth League attracted very few members at first, competing against numerous other
well established youth groups, and following the failed Munich Beer Hall Putsch and Hitler s arrest,
the Youth League of the NSDAP had been outlawed.
Adolf Hitler with one of the Hitler Youth boys
However with Hitler s release from prison and the resurgence of the NSDAP, a new Nazi Youth Party
was established and headed by Gustav Lenk. In May 1922 Lenk held a beer hall meeting in Munich,
to officially proclaim the foundation of League. The Nazi Youth League was formally

The Method Of Recruiting Has Changed Over Time
The method of recruiting has significantly changed over time. Today, there is less reading through
stacks of resumes and more interacting with potential employees on a casual and formal basis. The
method of job recruiting can include many different channels and practices. These methods can
consist of practices such as attending job fairs, promoting from within, online and college recruiting,
and referrals. Most recruiting methods are face to face interactions between the employer and potential
employee. This gives the employers a chance to see the candidate in person, how they present
themselves, and what they can bring to their company. Although there are many different methods of
recruiting, these practices can be separated into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another disadvantage is that if you promote from within, you have to fill the position of the person
you promoted, so in a sense you are back to square one (Lussier and Hendon, 172). Although this
route may seem easier, cheaper, and less time consuming, it may not be the most ideal route to take.
On the other hand, you have external recruiting which is the process of engaging individuals from the
labor market outside of the firm to apply for a job (Lussier and Hendon, 172). Some examples of
external recruiting would be using advertisements in newspapers, online job websites, career fairs, and
referrals from current employees that would help fulfill any open positions (Applegate). If a company
is going to promote themselves at a career fair it is important that they prepare in advance. The
company must advertise! As obvious as this may seem, some companies do not advertise because they
mainly rely on word of mouth. Some good advertising techniques would be to post flyers around local
campuses, add a section in the newspaper, advertise on the radio, and use social media platforms. The
company could also work with universities to send out an email blast to all of the students letting them
know about the career fair so that it draws more potential employees in ( Effective Career Fair
Recruiting ). Being a student at Lewis University, lately I have been seeing signs around campus about
a career

The University Program Board ( Upb )
Dee Hock once said, An organization no matter how well designed, is only as good as the people who
live and work in it. Hock s words are the epitome of how a successful organization functions, as
without the people an organization is nothing much like leadership. For the CLIP project we chose to
analyze and participate in the University Program Board (UPB) because it is one of the most well
known and most active organizations on campus. UPB, first began in 1953 as a student volunteer
organization and has since evolved to the organization it is today. The board has gone through many
forms and name changes, adjusting to the present needs of students to offer the best in entertainment.

In his role, he provides UPB assistance with contracts, negotiating vendors, providing guidance to the
board members together and individually, reserving venues, and meeting with university leadership
regarding funding. Carrico is a laissez faire leader who believes in the empowerment of his student
leaders and members. From our observations at meetings, we saw that he does a lot of the behind the
scene work and goes with the flow and will occasionally provide his input. We were quite puzzled
with his participation in the first meeting, but slowly understood how his style gets the job done
throughout the weeks. Carrico believes intrinsic

We use Barry Center crossing reduction heuristics. This is...
We use Barry Center crossing reduction heuristics. This is a two layer crossing reduction process. It is
applied from top to bottom layer then bottom to top, this completes one iteration.
Assign artificial positions to first layer and calculate barry center weights of nodes at second layer.
Reorder the nodes at second layer in ascending order of their barycenter weights. The above equation
is for top down sweeps of the layered graph. Similarly use Successors of v in bottom up sweeps in the
above equation. This process might not remove all edge crossings but gives a good starting point for
further Subgraph Crossing Reduction process.

A topological traversal of subgraph ordering graph gives ordering αo denoting which subgraph is left
of other subgraph.
5. POSITIONING
The edge crossings are reduced and nodes are placed according to their subgraphs at each layer. Now
we need to calculate absolute positions for graph nodes such that there will be enough space to draw
subgraph boundaries. To draw subgraph vertical boundaries straight we add trail of dummy vertical
nodes one to the left and one to the right side of each layer in every subgraph.
The goal is to position the long edges as straight as possible and vertical borders of subgraph strictly
vertical without reordering the nodes at any layer. We present a heuristic approach based on Brandes[]
approach. The nodes have different height and width. There should be no overlap between any two
nodes and node and subgraph boundary. The process consists of three steps. The first and second steps
are carried out four times. The first algorithm referred as vertical alignment, to align nodes with its
either median upper or median lower neighbor node. This will give maximum possible straight long
edges positions in upward and downward direction. The alignment conflicts are resolved with leftmost
and rightmost direction. Combination of the directions creates four alignments namely Upward Left,
Upward Right, Downward Left and Downward Right. In second step each alignment is given absolute
positions according to four alignments. In last step these alignments

Women Are Not Born But Made
Women are not born but made. Nowadays we celebrate women s day but there are many situations we
had come through to this position and space Punjabi women occupy nowadays, and comparing it to
the times 60 years ago. The age of my grandmother. When the country had just got independence.
When the women are participating in nationalist movements were being pushed into the domestic
household works.
There have been innumerable debates about gender in (Banerjee 2012) Punjab over last 60 years.
Most of them were about women s positions in society, their education, health, economic status,
gender equality. What we can conclude from these discussions is that how women have always held a
certain contradictory position in our developing country in past years. In recent years women held a
very less respectful position . they were not treated as human. On other hand, Punjab has an increased
percentage of literacy among women . now women are allowed to enter into professional fields now.
However, in the 1950s my grandmother tells women were just made to do household chores. They
were not allowed to get higher education or even go out without the permission of parents. They were
supposed to be at home . while on the other hand the practices of female foeticide, poor health
conditions and lack of education persisting still continue. Even the supportive ideology of the home
being women s real domain and marriage being her ultimate destiny has not changed much in last 60
years.

in 1914 between the Triple Alliance (Germany, Italy, Austria Hungary) and the Triple Entente (Britain,
France, Russia). The four main causes were militarism, alliance, imperialism, and nationalism, which
concentrated on the forms of management. The alliance was built between foreign nations in case of a
conflict due to the great amount of tension and interests of surpassing others. The event that sparked
the first World War was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria. Due to the alliance,

The Law And Law Code
I know that people deserve the right to defend themselves in court, however a person cannot
adequately defend themselves unless they are very familiar with the law. This is precisely the reason
why lawyers exist. The law is very complex, so rather than forcing someone to go to law school for
ten years, we have them hire lawyers to help them with the law. Basically, the average person does not
know law enough to successfully defend himself or herself in court. I know that the law code is
extensive. It would take a very long time to get through it even if you read constantly. II. Why am I
interested: I can t really remember when I became fascinated in the field of law and order. It was
probably immediately after I started watching the show, you guessed it, Law and Order. I became so
interested with the court, the jury, the judge, but I found the lawyer to be the most interesting position
of them all. Whenever my parents found me not telling the truth, or misbehaving, I would play pretend
and respond to my parents with something along the lines of: I plead guilty, your honor. I used to look
back on it as something humorous and something I didn t seriously want to do. Although, now I can
see clearly that it was one of the most serious of jobs, with huge competition and challenge. The task
of the defense lawyer is making sure the prosecution proves guilt beyond reasonable doubt. It seems to
be one of the noblest things a human can do. I would also certainly like to find

Burmese Pythons Effects On The Everglades And The Ecosystem
Burmese Pythons Do you think pythons are scary? Well if you aren t then you will be as soon as you
finish this book. The Burmese pythons is a very long and wide animal. Yes, people has them as pets.
But that dangerous to keep them. Those snakes size up and can possibly eat you. Just think what kind
of effect it has on the everglades and the ecosystem.
Although, the Everglades is a very special and cool place. But there are way too many pythons there
and we need a way to get them out, because it s hurting the entire place. Pythons are causing huge
numbers of opossums, raccoons, and many more animals. The python has no natural predators
meaning they are wiping out many important animals. According to source 2, With no natural
predators, these eating machines appear to be wiping out huge numbers of opossums, raccoons, and
bobcats, as well as many bird species. Florida s natural climate is very hot and humid which makes it
harder to get those snakes out of here. According to source 1, Burmese pythons are carnivores and
survived primarily on small birds and mammals. Another thing that horrible is that the population
keeps growing and growing and it s dangerous for us and animals also the everglades. Sadly, the
everglades is changing rapidly and it s not good. Now that you know about what s happening to
Florida and the everglades. Are you sacred yet?
Meanwhile pythons are not a pet. They are way too dangerous for us. Releasing them anywhere in the
U.S. not only hurts us but animals and it s changing the everglades. This snake is from Southeast Asia
and it s among the largest snake. So now do you think it s changing the everglades. According to
source 1, Native to the grassy marshes of Southeast Asia, it is among the largest snakes in the world.
Capable of growing to an astounding length of 23 feet and a weight up to 200 pounds. Like I said in
the first part. They are not for pets! They will hurt each and everything in the everglades and soon
only pythons will be there. These animals are and going to keep repopulating and if they don t put
them out as soon as they get them. According to source 1, When the animal tries to pull away it only

The Influence Of Barbie Dolls
Many children learn life skills from the toys they play with. Legos teach children how to build objects
while following direction. Coloring books help kids with motor skills and creativity. Even basketballs,
and footballs teach kids teamwork and physical endurance. Barbie dolls show girls that they have to
be put together, wear heels, and have the perfect life with the perfect car and the perfect boyfriend.
The old Barbie doll was very unhealthy in the way she looked, and this showed girls a bad example on
what their bodies needed to look like. New Barbies are made to show what a healthy person should
look like. They have new body types like curvy, short, and tall to show that not everyone looks the
same. Old Barbies brought young girls confidence down because of their unhealthy body type, while
new Barbies, with more body types, skin tones, and eye colors, boost girls confidence. Barbies are a
huge part of American girls culture, and their unhealthy body was making young girls less confident.
A study showed that after girls looked at Barbies their self esteem went down, while girls who saw a
more realistic doll felt no change in their self esteem (APA Staff). This is important because Barbies
are a large part of American culture, so if playing/looking at Barbies makes girls self esteem go down,
that means many girls in America must have some type of body confidence issue. To add on to this
point, the old version of Ken as well as Barbie shows an unhealthy body type,

1. How does Teletech currently use the hurdle rate? Teletech currently uses the hurdle rate in the
assessment of the firm s economic profit and NPV. The rate is based on an estimate of Teletech s
WACC. Currently, the hurdle rate for Teletech is 10.407%, using data in Figure 1. The case rounds this

What are the implications of this view? What are the arguments for and against this view? Helen
Buono states, All money is green. Investors cannot know as much about our operations as we do. To
them the firm is an opaque box; they hire us to take care of what is inside the box, and judge us by the
dividends coming out of the box. While I cannot refute that the color of money is of a green hue, I can
critique that the cost of all money is not the same. Her green money statement does not factor in the
risk involved in projects. This view implies that a single hurdle rate may deprive an under profitable
division of investments in order to channel more funds into a more profitable division. While this is
sound logic, certain situation exist where projects will go unfunded that do create value to the
company. Helen also goes on to explain that if one segment s hurdle rate is lower than the corporate
hurdle rate, the company would be destroying shareholder value. The whole is a sum of its parts. What
if Teletech has the opportunity to invest in a project that creates value at a hurdle rate below the firm
wide 10.41%, but above the segment s hurdle rate? This investment would create value in this
segment, but in the strategy of one hurdle rate, the project would be overlooked. 5. Is Helen Buono
right that management would destroy value if all of the firm s assets were redeployed into only the
telecommunications business segment? Helen

An effective team has strong leadership where the team leader not only recognizes what they bring to
the team but what each team member brings as well. A strong leader protects their team and doesn t
have a hidden agenda. Respect is a very important characteristic of an effective team because if
members of the team disrespect each other and put down team member s ideas, productivity could

Pros And Cons Of Having High School
Does only having a high school diploma mean you re unsuccessful? This is a topic that receives a lot
of attention in todays society. From political campaigns revolving completely around the promise of

Effects of Globalization Towards Our Culture
How does Globalization Affect Cultural traditions?
Globalization is very synonym to us since the past few years. It can be defined as process by which
regional economies, societies and cultures have become integrated through a global network of
communication, transportation and trade. Globalization also has made a vast change in every angle of
humans life and one of it is, our cultural tradition could be affected due to globalization process.
Culture is what people eat, how they dress , beliefs they hold and activities they practice.

people can easily get foreign clothes in various supermarket all over the country. As time goes by,
people that wear others attire is increasing gradually while on the other hand, the traditional attire are

Globalization does affect the traditional attire of particular ethnics as they tend to wear foreign clothes

In addition, another effect of Globalization is the deterioration of traditional performance arts due to
the entrance of lot of foreign influences in performing arts. One of kinds of performing arts is music.
Every ethnic or nation have their own traditional music and it is part of culture. But, in this
Globalization era, the traditional music and songs have declined gradually. People nowadays tend to

Effective Use Of Metaphors In Fences By August Wilson
Many people use metaphors to make an example or for people to better understand a given statement.
In the play Fences by August Wilson two main metaphors are redundant; most involving fences. Every
character is shown having their own meaning and need for their metaphorical fences. Wilson wrote a
play that would not only show deeper meaning than what is being said but one that showed a greater
insight on the lives of a small family. The first character is Troy Maxon. The significance of Troy s
metaphorical fence is built upon throughout the play. In troys case his metaphorical fence is to keep
death away from him, his things, and the ones he loves. Alright...Mr. Death. See now.... I m gonna tell
you what i m gonna do. I m gonna take me a fence around this yard. See? I m gonna build me a fence
around what belongs to me. And then you to stay on the other side. See? Stay over there until your
ready for me... (2.2). In this scene you see an insight on how Troy thinks of the fence as more than just
any fence, he thinks of it as something that could even stop the forces of death from entering his
home. Troy s efforts to wall off his home resonate with his ongoing conflict with Mr. Death by

Faith and Organized Religion Essay
Many skeptics in today s culture are convinced that organized religion does more harm than good.
Many of these people make persuasive arguments that are or can be conclusive. In some cases, they
say, a church, has too much power, is filled with politics and its rituals take away from God and put
emphasis on one s self; therefore, faith is what matters. In the novel A Portrait of The Artist as Young
Man by James Joyce, readers see Stephen go through life with faith, surrounded by others with faith
and religious activities. After a while, Steven loses sight of true faith, forgets God and becomes an
artist.

The preacher then cautiously warns him that participating in this sin will take over his life. After this
confession, he found his faith and became a new man. Stephen began rituals, Sunday was dedicated to
the mystery of the Holy Trinity, Monday to the Holy Ghost, Tuesday to the Guardian Angel...
(Portrait, 103). Stephen immediately jumped from being only concerned with himself, doing nothing
for the Lord and engulfed in sin. Stephen even wore rosary, then at the end he lost faith. Stephen
consumed himself with acts and rituals so much that it could be said he lost faith. The rituals took him
away from God and put emphasis on what he wanted to be, an artist. The rituals of organized religion
pushed him to the edge.
As Stephen was in the transaction of sanctification, he started to go through the motions. Stephen did
everything according to feeling. For example, when he felt like he was not saved, he repented to gain
God s power. A restless feeling of guilt would always be present with him: he would confess, repent,
and be absolved, confess and repent again and be absolved fruitlessly (Portrait, 109). Stephen was
entirely in control of his own thoughts; he knew he could go back to the way he was at any second.
Stephen wanted to be free and to express himself for who he was and not who everyone wanted him to
be. After a long struggle between this ritualistic attitude, he felt tied to the rituals of his religion.

The Arguments In The Downside Of Grit, By Alfie Kohn
The idea of grit is to be used to help students improve on goals they ve made, but in the The Downside

them and achieving them with little success. Kohn claims that grit can be counterproductive because
anyone could be continuing something that doesn t make them content with the outcome. He also
discusses about how people with grit could experience issues with psychological health when you try

through with a goal they might not enjoy. Kohn makes it clear that you shouldn t go through with a
goal if it doesn t give you satisfaction. Kohn also states that the motives of your goal should come first
before you take action. Kohn states that grit is applied more to students than adults for completing
academic goals, but fails to mention how grit can be applied outside of school. Alfie Kohn explains
that there is no point in continuing with a problem that has no solution, just like how you shouldn t
continue with a goal that doesn t give you contentment. I agree with Kohn that there s no point in
continuing with a task that doesn t feel worth it to complete, a point that needs emphasizing

Barry Allen In DC Comics
According to DC Comics the fastest character man alive is supposed to be Barry Allen, but there is
proof otherwise. In DC Comics there have been tests, races, and fights to prove that Godspeed is the
fastest character of all. Let s take a look at the evidence.
To start we need to look at the original speedster Jay Garrick. Jay was the first Flash and the only one
to not wear a mask. In his original comic appearance he was the only Flash in existence but when DC
Comics came out with Barry Allen he was sadly forgotten for a short time. After Barry started to gain
popularity they had to find someway to work Jay back into the main story. It was eventually shown
that he lived on an alternative world and that speedsters could cross back and forth to help each other (
Flash ). He is usually recognized by his signature metal winged helmet that has been around since the
golden age of comics. Since it has been shown in the comics that he is slower than Barry Allen he is
automatically out of the race.
Barry Allen is arguably the most widely known Flash. He is the first Flash to don the full red body suit
and first to wear a mask. Before Barry became The Flash he was a forensic scientist who was always
late. After a particle accelerator exploded and caused lightning to strike his lab Barry was sent into a

The only evidence of a link to the speed force is his accelerated muscle growth, which gives him super
strength instead of speed. As for his twin sister Iris West II, well she has more potential than anyone
else to be the fastest in the family. Thanks to her relation to Wally she is given a unique connection to
the speed force. Since wally is directly connected to the speed force it makes Iris II a living
embodiment of it. She has only recently taken up the role of Impulse but in the future she will most
likely be seen as the fastest in the family and maybe the first woman to take the mantle of The Flash

The Allusions Of Allusions In I Am A Cripple
Allusions in I Am a Cripple
Disabled. Disabled is a word commonly defined as being physically or mentally impaired, injured, or
incapacitated (dictionary.com). There s a stigma over the word disabled with its negative connotation.
Nancy Mairs, author of I Am a Cripple, dislikes this word because she thinks that the English
language incorporates too many euphemism in our speech. Mairs wants people to use more
straightforward language, even if it might be offensive to others. In I Am a Cripple , Mairs eloprates
on how she became disabled from the disease multiple sclerosis or (M.S). M.S., a disease that attacks
the central nervous system and often disables or cripples the person who has this disease. To describe
her first symptoms of M.S.(infinitive phrase) Mairs flashbacks to when she was in college. Also how
some days she wishes she was not disabled. Allusions in Nancy Mairs s I Am a Cripple provide a
deeper understanding of her complex feelings of having M.S. In I Am a Cripple Nancy Mairs uses
allusions to share her thoughts on her condition. Mairs begins her essay by articulating how she
strongly dislikes the word disabled to describe her. She explains how her word cripple is favorable to

Seven Years War Or Carlina War
Seven Years War or Carlina War is the conflict between England and France, from 1756 1763,
extending from the territory of the United States to Europe. Its origin is developed with the Franco
British economic and colonial rivalry in the United States and India and the occupation of the French
states of Newfoundland and Nova Scotia, in North America, by British settlers installed on the
northeast coast. In response, the French troops allied indigenous tribes and attacked the thirteen
British colonies in the region. Against the French invested, colonies joined the British Crown, leaving

The Glass Menagerie Hopelessness
Many stories have a certain event that provides a plot to a story. From a big battle scene to a quest or
journey, every good narrative has a conflict. An exception to this recurring plot point is The Glass
Menagerie. The play was written in 1944 by the playwright Tennessee Williams. Williams wrote the
story without a physical antagonist, but rather an abstract notion of hopelessness that is bestowed upon
the characters. Every character in the Wingfield family struggles with this in their own way. With
these struggles, the climax of each character can be derived. The Glass Menagerie was written with
the theme of the play as a priority, rather than the story being the conductor of the theme. In the story,
Tom battles hopelessness more than any other character. He struggles with ... Show more content on

She struggles with being a recluse in her own home, crippled by her own leg, yet she shows
compassion to her counterparts when they exude greed. She is not the main protagonist, but the whole
plot revolves around her and her symbols. Every character portrays their own version of Laura onto
her in an attempt to project their unfulfilled desires into Laura. The most obvious case is from
Amanda, who continuously uses her own youth as a way to try and mold Laura into her former self.
Jim on the other hand sees Laura as a unicorn, an exotic creature that does not exist in this world. Just
like how unicorns are different from other horses, Laura is different from other girls. The unicorn
being glass only furthers how easily Laura takes in the light of other people (their projections on her),
and she reflects them out to please the projector. But these projections are fruitless because Laura in
fact has a mind of her own, and she acts upon her own will, as shown by her skipping class. When the
unicorn breaks, Laura is brought into a pit of despair, fueled by the glass

Human Rights Act And Discrimination In Canada
The purpose of the Canadian human rights act is to prohibit discrimination in public situation based on
the number of grounds. Discrimination does not have behaviour intentionally to be against the act. In
other word, even if someone responsible for the action/comment that he/she did not mean, it is still
discrimination against the law. Discrimination in the work place means an employer/employee has an
action or a decision that effect a person in negative/unfair treatment based on grounds. For example,
firing a woman from a job because she has mental disability and paying differently between a man and
a woman in the same job. People in Canada are from different countries and have multi culture.

Decolonization Of India Dbq Analysis
In the years leading to full decolonization, both Asian and African nations achieved independence
during the mid 20th century. With the help of peace and violence, these nations became decolonized.
In Asian areas, India was prominent to serve economic balance and independence. Mahatma Gandhi
believed that with economic independence, India would be have an uplift within every individual.
Mahatma Ghandi spoke that their decolonization must not imitate the wrong, for example, the Nazi
rule in Germany or the ones in Britian. Basically, the cause of wanting independence in India was due
to the British. The consequence of leaving the British s ways is that some help/aid would now be gone
and India must now find their own way of developing the country. ... Show more content on

Within Africa, nations were trying to achieve independence with some achieving it easially. Most of
Africa s nations share a consequence: weakness. This weakness, before decolonization, Patrice
Lumumba, who is the Prime Minster of Congo, believes that Congo was prematurealy mocked,
weakened, and partially dominated. Patrice believes that just because of their skin color, that was not
an reason to be treated like the way they are treated now (Doc 4). Nkrumah Kwame, who was the
president of the first nation to be decolonized in Africa, assumes the fact that many other African
nations were struggling, weak, and helpless. With the fragmentation continuing, the outcome of the
nations would be disastrous. He sites that South Africa is very wealth, but South Africa is also weak.
This shows that hope is currently not on thier side, as a whole (Doc 5). Nelson Mandela was one of
the largest known people that made a difference in Africa. Nelson, who was later tried due to revolts,
believes that what he did for his people was not wrong. Infact, he believes that the whites are causing
the problems againsts the blacks. Nelson tries to stop using peaceful revolts, but was later accused of
planning to sabotage. In the situation he is in, it was hard to gain decolonization, but it was later
gained (Doc 6). Assia Djebar, who grew up in Algeria which was still trying to decolonize, figured

Lais Of Equitan And Bisclavret By Marie De France
THE RESEARCH TOPIC
The topic of my research is how courtly love applied the Lais of Equitan and Bisclavret written by
Marie De France.
THE RESEARCH CONTEXT
Research Questions:
1. What are the effects of courtly love on the situation of women in the middle ages?
2. Can it be between a knight and an unmarried lady?
3. How courtly love seen by society?
4. Is courtly love sinful?
5. What are the reasons behind courtly love?
Hebert Moller states that first, the female love object is, as a rule, the wife of another man; and yet this
relationship is celebrated as the source of a higher morality, notwithstanding the prevailing religious
and social sanctions of monogamy. Modern authors have unanimously realized that the consummation
of courtly love would mean adultery. The contemporaries did not present it in that light, but rather
claimed an inherent right of the lover to his lady s attention. If marriages, for economic and political
reasons, were arranged by relatives or feudal overlords, it is a mere construction of some older
historians that, for that reason, the contemporaries permitted extra marital free love and developed a
gigantic system of bigamy in which every lady was expected to have both a husband and a paramour.

What Is Our Safeguard Against Corruption Performed By...
What is our safeguard against corruption performed by federal officeholders? It is impeachment.
Impeachment is the Constitutional power given to the House of Representatives to remove a federal
officeholder from office. Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution says, The President, Vice President
and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and
Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors . (Longley). The power of
impeachment has historical significance as only four times in our history has Congress had serious
discussions of impeachment. Due to the requirement of a ruling vote from the House of
Representatives and the Senate, there are issues and complications ... Show more content on

The Senate will first meet in a private session to debate the verdict and then an open session to vote on
that verdict. For the verdict to result in a conviction a 2/3 vote is required. With the conviction of the
accusation, the President will be impeached and removed from the office. Once impeached, the Vice
President gains presidency, which may allow for the problems behind the Presidents impeachment to
carry forward. The two step process of impeachment does not always lead to a desirable outcome.
What are actions of treason, bribery or high crime misdemeanors worthy of impeachment? To decide
the meaning of high crimes and misdemeanors, we might start by looking at the intention of the
people who wrote the Constitution. There are two principal sources for gauging their intent: the notes
(mostly taken by James Madison) from the debates at the Constitutional Convention in 1787; and the
Federalist Papers, a group of essays (mostly by Madison and Alexander Hamilton) written in support
of ratification of the Constitution (Alan Hirsch). Basically, impeachment is not linked to criminal law
and the test for impeachment is not satisfied by all crimes, but a criminal action is required. The
attempt to impeach has been initiated several times throughout the history of the United States, but in
only a few instances has it led to a full impeachment. The House has initiated impeachment
proceedings more than 60

Negative Effects Of Pesticide
Pesticide is a chemical widely used around the world for many different reasons. Being a highly toxic
chemical, pesticide has been found to be particularly harmful to children s health. Because children s
immune systems are not as developed as that of an adult, their susceptibility to developing health
issues from exposure to the toxic chemical is much greater. This is due to the fact that children s
bodies lack the enzyme that allows them to detoxify and deactivate the chemical from their bodies
(Ding and Bao, 2013). In turn, pesticide may have adverse effects on the physiological development of
young children. There are various ways in which children may be exposed to different pesticides. The
degree at which children are exposed to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Exposure to pesticide is one example of an improper condition for early child development. In some
cases, exposure to pesticide may impair lung functioning and respiratory health. Interested in this
phenomenon, Raan, Harley, Balmes, Bradman, Lipsett, and Eskenazi (2015) conducted a study to
analyze to effects of early life exposure to toxic chemical, specifically organophosphate pesticide, on
the respiratory system. In order to evaluate the repercussion of pesticide exposure, the researchers had
to conduct a longitudinal study on children from birth and reanalyzed them at age five and seven
through a questionnaire. From this, researchers were able to disclose that exposure to pesticide is
linked to higher risk of asthma and other breathing problems, for instance wheezing, coughing, and
shortness of breath (Raan, Harley, Balmes, Bradman, Lipsett, and Eskenazi, 2015). Children are more
susceptible to these toxic chemicals due to lung development during this age. With exposure to
pesticide, the lethal chemical makeup of pesticide may interfere with the lung s development, thus
leading to mutations or abnormalities. Furthermore, childhood is also a crucial period for brain
development and functioning. Any impairments to the brain at this age may cause lasting effects that
will extend into adolescence and adulthood. Therefore, excessive exposure to pesticide may disturb
the cognitive functioning of children

Medical Injection
Traditional injection uses a syringe to insert liquid into body. The purpose of medical injection is to
pierce the material into the sufficient depth of skin. This kind of injection needs to use large number of
syringe needles, and according to [62],clients reported that an average of 8.7% of injections employed
shared syringe needles. Data from the Coalition for safe Community Needle Disposal showed that in
the year of 2011, 13.5 million people in the United States produced 7.8 billion used sharps(needles,
syringes, etc.) outside the traditional healthcare, and 1 million to 1.5 million of needles were used for
illegal drug injections. Since blood borne infections, like HIV, HBV, and HCV, can be commonly
spread by sharing intravenous syringes, huge number of substandard and illegal use of needles
compares to share rate of 8.7%, the potential spread of these infections cannot be ignored. Meanwhile,
on the other side, the application of micro needle can to large extent avoid this from its source. Micro
needles, which are recently developed by the Georgia Institute of Technology and the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) [63, 64], are small patches that can be administered by
untrained users. Small needles are placed on the patch of about a square centimeter. ... Show more

An Analysis OfOn Bullshit, By Max Black

On Bullshit
In On Bullshit, Harry G. Frankfurt, a professor at Princeton University discusses the concept of
bullshit from his standpoint. He begins his essay by stating, One of the most salient features of our
culture is that there is so much bullshit (117). Since Frankfurt doubts that most people are rather
confident of their ability to recognize bullshit and to avoid being taken in by it (117), he provides a
theoretical understanding of bullshit. The big question being asked throughout this argument is when,
if ever, is bullshitting seriously morally wrong and why? And what exactly is so important about
caring about, respecting, and telling the truth? Aspects of bullshit are discussed with reference to the
Oxford English Dictionary, Wittgenstein, and Saint Augustine. There are three points made throughout
the essay that seem to be crucially important the difference between lying and bullshitting, the
question of why there is so much bullshit in society today, and an analysis of sincerity.
Frankfurt begins his search for the meaning of bullshit by comparing it to the word humbug, and
referencing the work The Prevalence of Humbug by Max Black. Black gives the definition of
humbug: deceptive misrepresentation, short of lying, especially by pretentious word or deed, of
somebody s own thoughts, feelings, or attitudes. (118). By examining the definition of a related term,
Frankfurt begins his argument

Outsourcing American Jobs Essay
Introduction Outsourcing of American jobs overseas is displacing American s in the United States.
American blue collar workers and the Middle Class American will soon be a word of the past if the
US government continues outsourcing the low skill jobs overseas.
One of the concerns in regards to the outsourcing of jobs is that wages of American jobs versus the
wages of the Chinese, Japanese, Indians and Philippians are much less. If these workers were using
the same identical technology and having the same identical skills were paid the same wages, there
would be no problem. (Greene, 2006) It s also believed that if the US continues to trade freely with the
overseas countries then the powerful drag of their far lower wages will ... Show more content on

It is a concept that has evolved from a manufacturing perspective to a strategic perspective, which
views the concept as a way for organizations to focus and be more competitive. The basic premise of
outsourcing is that a specialist organization can perform a particular service more efficiently than can
internal operations because a specialist organization has an inherent advantage in producing and
delivering a service. Superior technology, management skills, or economies of scale may contribute to
this perception. The type of sourcing relationship depends on whether a long term or short term need
exists. To save funds used for benefits for regular employees, temporary workers are hired. In this
case, the organization (outsourcer) provides all necessary resources except the workers, who are
provided by the vendor. For long term services, the vendor has full responsibility for delivering the
service; the outsourcer provides only a liaison.
The Negative As with so many global trends, there is significant disagreement over the implications of
global competition in services for American prosperity and competitiveness. Many people are
pessimistic about the impact of offshore outsourcing at a time when American workers are having
more difficulty finding employment, since it creates personal hardships, reduces the tax base and
increases demands on our safety nets. Competitors from lower wage nations, it is feared, could put

Descriptive Essay About Love
Finding Love
As I walk into the Homeward Animal Shelter for my dog walking shift, I think of the reason I began
my weekly volunteering. I want to give love, in any way I can, to the animals who have been left by
the ones they love. These animals that I spend an hour and a half with every Sunday need to know that
someone loves them. That they have not been forgotten about and it gets better. After spending the
summer with my aunt and uncle, I learned that. As I watched their newest rescue dog Snoop open up
to me after 3 years and watching his mile stones. For a dog that was abandoned by his family and left
on the street, bounced between the shelter and temporary homes, he has finally found permanent love
in our family.
Snoop s journey into our family began when his family abandoned him and his little chihuahua
brother on the side of the road. They fended for each other for days until they were brought to the
pound. From there they were separated. Where the little Chihuahua went is unknown, but Snoop,
being a pure bread German Shepherd, was taken to Missouri German Shepherd Rescue (MOGS), a
rescue center specializing in Shepherds. His white coat made him easy to love, but after the treatment
of his last family he did not easily love others. Once Snoop had come out of his shell, not so
sheepishly hiding from the shelter staff, he was moved into a foster home. Here in this foster home he
started to become the dog my family knows today. Living with another Shepherd helped him

  • 2. Argumentative Essay On Nuclear Energy Nuclear energy has been used since 1895 to create weapons that could destroy men by the millions. Scientists later transformed this destructive weapon into a new form of usable, renewable energy. Nuclear energy is energy created by harnessing the energy produced by the nuclear reactions that take place inside the nucleus of the Uranium Isotope 235, ( Nuclear Energy ). Nuclear energy is one attempt to decrease the rate at which nonrenewable fossil fuels are being consumed. Some believe nuclear energy to be an environmentally friendly and self sustaining way to produce energy; however, there are a countless number of social and economically risks to consider; ultimately, the detrimental effects power plant leaks and explosions have on the human body, the cost it takes to produce the plants, and the production of nuclear waste, should be enough to persuade one to turn away from using nuclear energy as a source of power. The fear of a nuclear power plants is reasonable, considering there were thirty three accidents between the 1950 s and early 2000 s, (McInnes, Colin). Multiple incidents jeopardized the health of employees and near by citizens. Six of these incidents happened in the United States, five in Japan, and three in the United Kingdom and Russia. Thirty five liters of highly enriched Uranium solution leaked during transfer, in the United Kingdom; more than 100 workers were exposed to one hundred and fifty millirems of radiation a day in Japan; reactors in ... • 3. Drug Trafficking In Mexico Drug trafficking, as an actual problemátic around the world, has been a problem since long time ago, and Mexico has come into notice around the world for this matter. Since approximately the 19th century, the world has been worried because of illegal drug trafficking, but in the beginning, drugs were not illegal and widely used throughout the world as they are today. Laws that banned the commercialization use of drugs were approved less than 80 years ago in the mayor part of the world´s countries, In the early 1900 s, drugs were not considered a serious issue, because the government believed the abuse would not stop if citizens could not get drugs after they were banned, but it would grow. Among the years, México has been gaining a bad image related with drug trafficking and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 2006, last Mexican President Felipe Calderon proposed an initiative, in partnership with the United States, wanting to combat the cartels with military force, which significantly escalated violence and claimed thousands of lives, including civilians. Mexico s drug war has turned violent in recent years, resulting in tens of thousands of deaths. Law enforcement attempts to put cartels out of business by arresting key figures have led not to the demise of the drug trade, but to bloody deaths of both guilty and innocent people, so we come to question the usefulness of this measurements. The drug trade will mightily continue, no matter how risky or violent the the commercialization of it gets. In Afghanistan, illicit opium (a substance derived by collecting and drying the milky juice that comes from the seed pods of the poppy plant) production is so huge that a non corrupt central government is nearly impossible to achieve. • 4. The Hitler Youth Propaganda Poster The Hitler Youth Jungsturm Adolf Hitler Hitler Youth Propaganda poster In 1920, Adolf Hitler, authorized the formation of a Youth League of the National Socialist Workers Party (NSDAP) based upon the principles of an earlier German youth group known as as the Wandervögel. The Wandervögel (translated as Migratory Bird ) were the German equivalent of the Boy Scouts of America and the World Organization of the Scout Movement. Wandervögel members had an idealistic, romantic notion of the past, yearning for simpler days when people lived off the land. Wandervögel members distinguished themselves by wearing shorts and hiking boots rather than the starched shirts and creased trousers of the middle class. They believed in the importance of rediscovering nature without any modern conveniences. They sang old German folk songs around the campfire and greeting each other by saying Heil. This new Nazi Youth League attracted very few members at first, competing against numerous other well established youth groups, and following the failed Munich Beer Hall Putsch and Hitler s arrest, the Youth League of the NSDAP had been outlawed. Adolf Hitler with one of the Hitler Youth boys However with Hitler s release from prison and the resurgence of the NSDAP, a new Nazi Youth Party was established and headed by Gustav Lenk. In May 1922 Lenk held a beer hall meeting in Munich, to officially proclaim the foundation of League. The Nazi Youth League was formally ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Method Of Recruiting Has Changed Over Time The method of recruiting has significantly changed over time. Today, there is less reading through stacks of resumes and more interacting with potential employees on a casual and formal basis. The method of job recruiting can include many different channels and practices. These methods can consist of practices such as attending job fairs, promoting from within, online and college recruiting, and referrals. Most recruiting methods are face to face interactions between the employer and potential employee. This gives the employers a chance to see the candidate in person, how they present themselves, and what they can bring to their company. Although there are many different methods of recruiting, these practices can be separated into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another disadvantage is that if you promote from within, you have to fill the position of the person you promoted, so in a sense you are back to square one (Lussier and Hendon, 172). Although this route may seem easier, cheaper, and less time consuming, it may not be the most ideal route to take. On the other hand, you have external recruiting which is the process of engaging individuals from the labor market outside of the firm to apply for a job (Lussier and Hendon, 172). Some examples of external recruiting would be using advertisements in newspapers, online job websites, career fairs, and referrals from current employees that would help fulfill any open positions (Applegate). If a company is going to promote themselves at a career fair it is important that they prepare in advance. The company must advertise! As obvious as this may seem, some companies do not advertise because they mainly rely on word of mouth. Some good advertising techniques would be to post flyers around local campuses, add a section in the newspaper, advertise on the radio, and use social media platforms. The company could also work with universities to send out an email blast to all of the students letting them know about the career fair so that it draws more potential employees in ( Effective Career Fair Recruiting ). • 6. The University Program Board ( Upb ) Dee Hock once said, An organization no matter how well designed, is only as good as the people who live and work in it. Hock s words are the epitome of how a successful organization functions, as without the people an organization is nothing much like leadership. For the CLIP project we chose to analyze and participate in the University Program Board (UPB) because it is one of the most well known and most active organizations on campus. UPB, first began in 1953 as a student volunteer organization and has since evolved to the organization it is today. The board has gone through many forms and name changes, adjusting to the present needs of students to offer the best in entertainment. UPB is comprised of one full time staff advisor, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Additionally, UPB provides opportunities to enhance professional growth, develop creativity, and to learn about the extensive diversity at Ball State. It truly empowers students. Member Spotlight Scott Carrico is the full time staff advisor to UPB and also a student center employee. He accepted the role of being UPB s advisor in January 2013. Carrico did his undergraduate work at Indiana University Bloomington. There he was involved in orientation and their program board which inspired him to pursue a degree in Student Affairs at the University of South Carolina. Afterwards, he accepted a job at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign in program funding and finance. Though Carrico s true passion was actually programming and working with students so he accepted his position at Ball State. In his role, he provides UPB assistance with contracts, negotiating vendors, providing guidance to the board members together and individually, reserving venues, and meeting with university leadership regarding funding. Carrico is a laissez faire leader who believes in the empowerment of his student leaders and members. From our observations at meetings, we saw that he does a lot of the behind the scene work and goes with the flow and will occasionally provide his input. We were quite puzzled with his participation in the first meeting, but slowly understood how his style gets the job done throughout the weeks. Carrico believes intrinsic ... • 7. We use Barry Center crossing reduction heuristics. This is... We use Barry Center crossing reduction heuristics. This is a two layer crossing reduction process. It is applied from top to bottom layer then bottom to top, this completes one iteration. Assign artificial positions to first layer and calculate barry center weights of nodes at second layer. Reorder the nodes at second layer in ascending order of their barycenter weights. The above equation is for top down sweeps of the layered graph. Similarly use Successors of v in bottom up sweeps in the above equation. This process might not remove all edge crossings but gives a good starting point for further Subgraph Crossing Reduction process. 4.2 Subgraph Crossing Reduction Global crossing reduction reduces some crossings but can reorder the nodes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A topological traversal of subgraph ordering graph gives ordering αo denoting which subgraph is left of other subgraph. 5. POSITIONING The edge crossings are reduced and nodes are placed according to their subgraphs at each layer. Now we need to calculate absolute positions for graph nodes such that there will be enough space to draw subgraph boundaries. To draw subgraph vertical boundaries straight we add trail of dummy vertical nodes one to the left and one to the right side of each layer in every subgraph. The goal is to position the long edges as straight as possible and vertical borders of subgraph strictly vertical without reordering the nodes at any layer. We present a heuristic approach based on Brandes[] approach. The nodes have different height and width. There should be no overlap between any two nodes and node and subgraph boundary. The process consists of three steps. The first and second steps are carried out four times. The first algorithm referred as vertical alignment, to align nodes with its either median upper or median lower neighbor node. This will give maximum possible straight long edges positions in upward and downward direction. The alignment conflicts are resolved with leftmost and rightmost direction. Combination of the directions creates four alignments namely Upward Left, Upward Right, Downward Left and Downward Right. In second step each alignment is given absolute positions according to four alignments. In last step these alignments ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Women Are Not Born But Made Women are not born but made. Nowadays we celebrate women s day but there are many situations we had come through to this position and space Punjabi women occupy nowadays, and comparing it to the times 60 years ago. The age of my grandmother. When the country had just got independence. When the women are participating in nationalist movements were being pushed into the domestic household works. There have been innumerable debates about gender in (Banerjee 2012) Punjab over last 60 years. Most of them were about women s positions in society, their education, health, economic status, gender equality. What we can conclude from these discussions is that how women have always held a certain contradictory position in our developing country in past years. In recent years women held a very less respectful position . they were not treated as human. On other hand, Punjab has an increased percentage of literacy among women . now women are allowed to enter into professional fields now. However, in the 1950s my grandmother tells women were just made to do household chores. They were not allowed to get higher education or even go out without the permission of parents. They were supposed to be at home . while on the other hand the practices of female foeticide, poor health conditions and lack of education persisting still continue. Even the supportive ideology of the home being women s real domain and marriage being her ultimate destiny has not changed much in last 60 years. When our ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Great War was a conflict that occurred in 1914 between the Triple Alliance (Germany, Italy, Austria Hungary) and the Triple Entente (Britain, France, Russia). The four main causes were militarism, alliance, imperialism, and nationalism, which concentrated on the forms of management. • 11. The Law And Law Code I know that people deserve the right to defend themselves in court, however a person cannot adequately defend themselves unless they are very familiar with the law. This is precisely the reason why lawyers exist. The law is very complex, so rather than forcing someone to go to law school for ten years, we have them hire lawyers to help them with the law. Basically, the average person does not know law enough to successfully defend himself or herself in court. I know that the law code is extensive. It would take a very long time to get through it even if you read constantly. II. Why am I interested: I can t really remember when I became fascinated in the field of law and order. It was probably immediately after I started watching the show, you guessed it, Law and Order. I became so interested with the court, the jury, the judge, but I found the lawyer to be the most interesting position of them all. Whenever my parents found me not telling the truth, or misbehaving, I would play pretend and respond to my parents with something along the lines of: I plead guilty, your honor. I used to look back on it as something humorous and something I didn t seriously want to do. Although, now I can see clearly that it was one of the most serious of jobs, with huge competition and challenge. The task of the defense lawyer is making sure the prosecution proves guilt beyond reasonable doubt. It seems to be one of the noblest things a human can do. I would also certainly like to find ... • 13. The Influence Of Barbie Dolls Many children learn life skills from the toys they play with. Legos teach children how to build objects while following direction. Coloring books help kids with motor skills and creativity. Even basketballs, and footballs teach kids teamwork and physical endurance. Barbie dolls show girls that they have to be put together, wear heels, and have the perfect life with the perfect car and the perfect boyfriend. The old Barbie doll was very unhealthy in the way she looked, and this showed girls a bad example on what their bodies needed to look like. New Barbies are made to show what a healthy person should look like. They have new body types like curvy, short, and tall to show that not everyone looks the same. Old Barbies brought young girls confidence down because of their unhealthy body type, while new Barbies, with more body types, skin tones, and eye colors, boost girls confidence. Barbies are a huge part of American girls culture, and their unhealthy body was making young girls less confident. A study showed that after girls looked at Barbies their self esteem went down, while girls who saw a more realistic doll felt no change in their self esteem (APA Staff). This is important because Barbies are a large part of American culture, so if playing/looking at Barbies makes girls self esteem go down, that means many girls in America must have some type of body confidence issue. To add on to this point, the old version of Ken as well as Barbie shows an unhealthy body type, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Investors cannot know as much about our operations as we do. While I cannot refute that the color of money is of a green hue, I can critique that the cost of all money is not the same. Her green money statement does not factor in the risk involved in projects. This view implies that a single hurdle rate may deprive an under profitable division of investments in order to channel more funds into a more profitable division. While this is sound logic, certain situation exist where projects will go unfunded that do create value to the company. Helen also goes on to explain that if one segment s hurdle rate is lower than the corporate hurdle rate, the company would be destroying shareholder value. The whole is a sum of its parts. What if Teletech has the opportunity to invest in a project that creates value at a hurdle rate below the firm wide 10.41%, but above the segment s hurdle rate? In the play Fences by August Wilson two main metaphors are redundant; most involving fences. Every character is shown having their own meaning and need for their metaphorical fences. Wilson wrote a play that would not only show deeper meaning than what is being said but one that showed a greater insight on the lives of a small family. The first character is Troy Maxon. The significance of Troy s metaphorical fence is built upon throughout the play. In troys case his metaphorical fence is to keep death away from him, his things, and the ones he loves. Stephen immediately jumped from being only concerned with himself, doing nothing for the Lord and engulfed in sin. Stephen even wore rosary, then at the end he lost faith. Stephen consumed himself with acts and rituals so much that it could be said he lost faith. The rituals took him away from God and put emphasis on what he wanted to be, an artist. The rituals of organized religion pushed him to the edge. As Stephen was in the transaction of sanctification, he started to go through the motions. Stephen did everything according to feeling. For example, when he felt like he was not saved, he repented to gain God s power. A restless feeling of guilt would always be present with him: he would confess, repent, and be absolved, confess and repent again and be absolved fruitlessly (Portrait, 109). In DC Comics there have been tests, races, and fights to prove that Godspeed is the fastest character of all. Let s take a look at the evidence. To start we need to look at the original speedster Jay Garrick. Jay was the first Flash and the only one to not wear a mask. In his original comic appearance he was the only Flash in existence but when DC Comics came out with Barry Allen he was sadly forgotten for a short time. After Barry started to gain popularity they had to find someway to work Jay back into the main story. It was eventually shown that he lived on an alternative world and that speedsters could cross back and forth to help each other ( Flash ). He is usually recognized by his signature metal winged helmet that has been around since the golden age of comics. Since it has been shown in the comics that he is slower than Barry Allen he is automatically out of the race. Barry Allen is arguably the most widely known Flash. In order to evaluate the repercussion of pesticide exposure, the researchers had to conduct a longitudinal study on children from birth and reanalyzed them at age five and seven through a questionnaire. From this, researchers were able to disclose that exposure to pesticide is linked to higher risk of asthma and other breathing problems, for instance wheezing, coughing, and shortness of breath (Raan, Harley, Balmes, Bradman, Lipsett, and Eskenazi, 2015). Children are more susceptible to these toxic chemicals due to lung development during this age. With exposure to pesticide, the lethal chemical makeup of pesticide may interfere with the lung s development, thus leading to mutations or abnormalities. Furthermore, childhood is also a crucial period for brain development and functioning. Any impairments to the brain at this age may cause lasting effects that will extend into adolescence and adulthood. Therefore, excessive exposure to pesticide may disturb the cognitive functioning of children ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Medical Injection Traditional injection uses a syringe to insert liquid into body. The purpose of medical injection is to pierce the material into the sufficient depth of skin. This kind of injection needs to use large number of syringe needles, and according to [62],clients reported that an average of 8.7% of injections employed shared syringe needles. Data from the Coalition for safe Community Needle Disposal showed that in the year of 2011, 13.5 million people in the United States produced 7.8 billion used sharps(needles, syringes, etc.) outside the traditional healthcare, and 1 million to 1.5 million of needles were used for illegal drug injections. Since blood borne infections, like HIV, HBV, and HCV, can be commonly spread by sharing intravenous syringes, huge number of substandard and illegal use of needles compares to share rate of 8.7%, the potential spread of these infections cannot be ignored. Meanwhile, on the other side, the application of micro needle can to large extent avoid this from its source. Micro needles, which are recently developed by the Georgia Institute of Technology and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) [63, 64], are small patches that can be administered by untrained users. Small needles are placed on the patch of about a square centimeter. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Spectral element method used in computational fluid dynamics is explained in [15] and [46]. For spectral element models of micro needle, the process is divided into two parts, the model of flow in micro needle and the model of solution flux inside human skin. Incompressible NavierStokes equations with slip boundary condition are solved inside micro needle. And the human skin is treated as porous media, so Darcy Brinkman equation is solved to simulate this process. At the same time, the output data of micro needle are taken as initial conditions of Darcy Brinkman ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. An Analysis OfOn Bullshit, By Max Black Violeta Mattei Dr. Regan Lance Reitsma CORE 286 10/16/17 On Bullshit In On Bullshit, Harry G. Frankfurt, a professor at Princeton University discusses the concept of bullshit from his standpoint. He begins his essay by stating, One of the most salient features of our culture is that there is so much bullshit (117). Since Frankfurt doubts that most people are rather confident of their ability to recognize bullshit and to avoid being taken in by it (117), he provides a theoretical understanding of bullshit. The big question being asked throughout this argument is when, if ever, is bullshitting seriously morally wrong and why? And what exactly is so important about caring about, respecting, and telling the truth? Aspects of bullshit are discussed with reference to the Oxford English Dictionary, Wittgenstein, and Saint Augustine. There are three points made throughout the essay that seem to be crucially important the difference between lying and bullshitting, the question of why there is so much bullshit in society today, and an analysis of sincerity. Frankfurt begins his search for the meaning of bullshit by comparing it to the word humbug, and referencing the work The Prevalence of Humbug by Max Black. Black gives the definition of humbug: deceptive misrepresentation, short of lying, especially by pretentious word or deed, of somebody s own thoughts, feelings, or attitudes. (118). By examining the definition of a related term, Frankfurt begins his argument ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Outsourcing American Jobs Essay Introduction Outsourcing of American jobs overseas is displacing American s in the United States. American blue collar workers and the Middle Class American will soon be a word of the past if the US government continues outsourcing the low skill jobs overseas. One of the concerns in regards to the outsourcing of jobs is that wages of American jobs versus the wages of the Chinese, Japanese, Indians and Philippians are much less. If these workers were using the same identical technology and having the same identical skills were paid the same wages, there would be no problem. (Greene, 2006) It s also believed that if the US continues to trade freely with the overseas countries then the powerful drag of their far lower wages will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is a concept that has evolved from a manufacturing perspective to a strategic perspective, which views the concept as a way for organizations to focus and be more competitive. The basic premise of outsourcing is that a specialist organization can perform a particular service more efficiently than can internal operations because a specialist organization has an inherent advantage in producing and delivering a service. Superior technology, management skills, or economies of scale may contribute to this perception. The type of sourcing relationship depends on whether a long term or short term need exists. To save funds used for benefits for regular employees, temporary workers are hired. In this case, the organization (outsourcer) provides all necessary resources except the workers, who are provided by the vendor. For long term services, the vendor has full responsibility for delivering the service; the outsourcer provides only a liaison. The Negative As with so many global trends, there is significant disagreement over the implications of global competition in services for American prosperity and competitiveness. Many people are pessimistic about the impact of offshore outsourcing at a time when American workers are having more difficulty finding employment, since it creates personal hardships, reduces the tax base and increases demands on our safety nets. Competitors from lower wage nations, it is feared, could put ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Descriptive Essay About Love Finding Love As I walk into the Homeward Animal Shelter for my dog walking shift, I think of the reason I began my weekly volunteering. I want to give love, in any way I can, to the animals who have been left by the ones they love. These animals that I spend an hour and a half with every Sunday need to know that someone loves them. That they have not been forgotten about and it gets better. After spending the summer with my aunt and uncle, I learned that. As I watched their newest rescue dog Snoop open up to me after 3 years and watching his mile stones. For a dog that was abandoned by his family and left on the street, bounced between the shelter and temporary homes, he has finally found permanent love in our family. Snoop s journey into our family began when his family abandoned him and his little chihuahua brother on the side of the road. They fended for each other for days until they were brought to the pound. From there they were separated. Where the little Chihuahua went is unknown, but Snoop, being a pure bread German Shepherd, was taken to Missouri German Shepherd Rescue (MOGS), a rescue center specializing in Shepherds. His white coat made him easy to love, but after the treatment of his last family he did not easily love others. Once Snoop had come out of his shell, not so sheepishly hiding from the shelter staff, he was moved into a foster home. Here in this foster home he started to become the dog my family knows today. Living with another Shepherd helped him ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
