Justice In Aeschylus s Oresteia
Aeschylus s Oresteia illustrates justice as being subjective and evolves throughout the plays to
become increasingly complex. In Agamemnon, justice is synonymous with revenge and seen as
simply being part of fate. The Chorus highlights this when they say, Fate is grinding sharp the
sword of Justice and go on to relate that as long as Zeus exists this is simply a fact of life (1565).
The idea of revenge as justice is also seen in the Chorus description of the plunderer plundered and
Each charge meets counter charge (1588 1594). The death of Agamemnoncomes as revenge, the
revenge of the death of Iphigenia and the revenge from the sins of the house of Atreus on Aegisthus
family.
The theme of revenge as justice carries on into The Eumenides

A Survey on Human Mobility Modeling The speaker of this presentation is Hugo Serrano
Barbosa Filho from Florida Tech. The topic of this presentation is the importance of human
mobility modeling and several human mobility modeling methods Human mobility model
represents the movement of human and how they change their positions over time[1]. At the
beginning of presentation Mr. Filho answered two questions. First, human mobility research is
about analyze and predict human daily activities and places they visiting. Second, human
mobility modeling is reproduce patterns about human mobility activities, and the reason why
modeling human mobility is it can help to solve a lot of problems. These problems are very
important in nowadays. For example, traffic forecasting can forecast traffic situation in different
streets and give drivers the best path to destination. Urban planning can help improving the
urban areas. Epidemics modeling can predicate how epidemics such like flu moved and how to
control it. Then Mr. Filho introduced the two different levels of human mobility. The first one
we call it individual level, which is a micro level. It is about an individual s activities, such like
what places he/she visits in a week. But in the other hand is the population level, which is a
macro level. This level is about the entire data of a group people s activities, such like how many
cars travel through a particular road each week, or how many people migrate from one area to

Big Boy s History And The 5c Framework
Introduction
Representatives from Northlich and Frisch s expressed that over the 40 year life of the Frisch s
Big Boy brand, Frisch s has neglected managing their marketing strategy and research. As a result,
Frisch s marketing style has remained relatively unchanged for decades. Frisch s seeks to attract
consumers in the millennial cohort. To implement the changes required to appeal to this new
market, Frisch s will benefit from understanding the following elements of the 5C framework:
company, climate, customers, collaborators, and competitors. This competitive analysis will
contextualize Frisch s Big Boy s history and the 5C Framework to gain an understanding of Frisch s
position and competencies in the chain restaurant industry.

Brand recognition is a powerful asset for these firms. To maintain recognition and manage cultural
shifts, franchises in the full service sector often make subtle changes to their logos over time.
These slight changes go unnoticed by the seasoned consumers, but appeal to emerging consumer
segments and modern perceptions (see Appendix A). Northlich s makeover initiatives for Frisch s
are valuable, positive changes to open the Frisch s aesthetic to new audiences (see Figure 1).
Unfortunately, these changes did not occur over an extended period of time and are immediately
visible for all consumers. These changes have faced opposition from older consumers as a result.
Frisch s traditional marketing strategies are not suited for millennial consumers because the
millennial market did not exist when the original marketing strategies were implemented. Changes,
like up dating the Big Boy mascot, are necessary to appeal to Frisch s target millennial market.
This industry is moderately regulated (Alvarez, 2016). The food industry as a whole, including full

entrepreneurial endeavors and they risk they entail. Miller has successfully started other businesses
in the past, beginning his entrepreneurial career in 1999. The skills he gained during these

The company s business model is comprised of 80% sales from online orders from individual
customers, and 20% from wholesale orders from corporate customers such as gyms, hotels, spas,
and wellness centers. Individual customers generally buy one to three dozen bars at a time, while
the corporate customers tend to buy in bulk then resell the co branded bar. (Element Bars, n.d.)
Currently, there are very few competitors in the energy bar market that offer the same unique value
proposition as Element Bars. As Miller points out in the case, there are few companies that are able
to produce at the small (individual) scale that his company can.
One of the first options that an entrepreneur will explore for financing is debt, usually through a
bank loan. Before appearing on Shark Tank, Miller applied for a $40,000 business loan, but was
rejected. Another financing option is a line of credit, but this can be costly as a result of fees and
interest payments. For either of these options, Element Bars would almost always be rejected
because the company has very little assets or collateral.
Venture capitalis another option for a start up business, however, these types of companies tend to
invest more in high growth potential companies like those in the technology industry. Miller could
also approach his corporate customers with a proposal for their investment. He could offer interest
in his company in exchange for capital. (Shein, 2011)
Miller could also look to his family

Analysis Of Using Tribe And Tribalism By David Wiley
In Using Tribe and Tribalism : to Misunderstand African Societies, David Wiley discussed the
problems using the words tribe and tribalism to classify African societies. Wiley argued throughout
his article the problems of creating ethnic labels among African societies. Various African groups
of people are different in their culture, ideas, customs, practices, and dialect. However, many
African societies were classified and labeled as tribes rather than being understood differently. Each
African society had and has today its own unique customs and practices. These customs and
practices were seen abstract and obscure to many social scientists and scientists of the 19th century.
During this time we see the rise of evolutionary

Immanuel Kant s Formalism Theory
Kant s Formalism Theory The theories of Immanuel Kant, a German philosopher, have had an
impact on the formulation and shaping of ethics today. Immanuel Kant graced this earth from 1724
to 1804. During his eighty year life time, he formulated many interesting ideas regarding ethical
conduct and motivation. Kant is strictly a non consequentialist philosopher, which means that he
believes that a person s choices should have nothing to do with the desired outcome, but instead
mankind simply goes about doing good because it is morally correct. Kant theorizes that moral
reasoning is not based on factual knowledge and that reason by itself can reveal the basic
principles of morality. Ideas contemplated and developed and theorized by... Show more content on

If you want to reach a specific goal, then you will accomplish these tasks. On the other hand,
categorical laws apply to everyone. Regardless of goals or desired outcome, the categorical
imperative commands unconditionally. (Shaw, 67) Kant developed another idea which
exemplifies that of the categorical imperative. The principle of universal acceptability states that
as rational, moral beings, individuals are bound by logic and its demands. Because logic is
consistent, individuals all live by the same moral law. in order to determine whether a rule is a
moral law, we can thus ask if the rule commands would be acceptable to all rational beings acting
rationally. (Shaw, 67) Kant s view of universal acceptability appears to be intertwined with
echoes of the golden rule. Another famous theory developed by Kant further explaining the
categorical imperative is the idea of humanity as an end and never merely as a means. Individuals
should never treat someone a special way in an effort to get gain. In other words, Kant developed
the theory we hear in nursery school of, treat others as you would like to be treated. Logically, this
theory states that rational beings recognize their worth and the worth of others. As a rational
thinker, one would not want to be used as a means to an end. Immanuel Kant s formalism theory
poses many compelling and interesting points of view. On the surface, the categorical imperative
seems to be a great measuring device

It seems that in going through Chiquita s company background, that they have been somewhat of
a shady brand since its origin. Eli Black, CEO in 1970, paid a US$1.25 million bribe to Honduran
official in return for them reducing taxes on the company s banana exports. He then proceeded to
kill himself. The next CEO, Carl Linder, was know for bottom fishing and led the company into
bankrupty in 2002. Next in line to assume the title was Agguire.
It seemed that he was faced with an overwhelming load of problems from Chiquita s past, but he
quickly decided on the best way to fix it. He told CEO Magazine in 2007, [Chiquita s] key
challenge is to control costs while supporting innovation efforts. Cost saving programs have not
been nearly enough to offset higher industry and other costs. He said also that the second challenge
is to remain agile in a competitive, fast paced marketplace that is characterized by growing
consumer expectations [...] and that in order to strengthen the [...] power of the brand, [they] are
developing strategies based on consumer brands for healthy, fresh foods and focusing on
diversification and innovation (5). He made it clear from the beginning that Chiquita would be
transitioning from the low margin operations to a company that produced more value added
products. Also, that they would begin to maintain an excellent record of food safety, quality,

Personal Statement My Personal Purpose
Technology, especially computers, has always been a central passion of mine. I am deeply
involved with its implementation into everyday life. Professionally, I utilize computers daily as a
means to aid in the diagnostic process of repairing automobiles. I consider myself to be the most
knowledgeable and tech saavy employee at my current shop in regards to using the scanner to
communicate and interface with electronics and computers on vehicles, utilizing the parts catalog
software efficiently to find the correct part, using software to find service literature and labor
manuals to aid in diagnosis and repair, utilizing Google, Youtube, iATN forums, and the like to find
solutions to problems and answers to questions which may not be readily available or easily
accessible within the manufacturers service literature, and understanding and utilizing the Hunter
alignment software to align and occasionally diagnose very specific problems on vehicles. I have
also personally solved a handful of computerissues under the previous company owner as there
were no IT staff during that period to handle such things. As an example, the computer we (the
mechanics) use to look up service literature was a very outdated Dell pentium 4 desktop PC
running Windows XP. This PC was very slow and often would become unresponsive, in which case
it would need to be restarted, which costs myself and my customers valuable time. The nature of the

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease ( Copd )
COPD Case Study Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is an interchangeable phrase
used to describe respiratory diseases characterized by airway obstruction. COPD is now a well
known and serious chronic disease, killing many and affecting a mass number of people per year.
COPD is a result in restricted (obstructed) airflow in the lungs. Obstructive diseases include
bronchitis, in which inflammation causes chronic bronchial secretions and narrowing of the
bronchi and emphysema a permanent destructive enlargement of the airspaces within the lung.
1)What clinical findings are likely in R.S. as a consequence of his COPD? There are a number of
clinical findings that can be consequences due to R.S. COPD. R.S. has developed chronic
bronchitis also coined as typed B COPD or the blue bloater. A productive cough or an acute chest
illness is common. The cough mostly is worse in the mornings and creates a small amount of
colorless sputum. Wheezing may occur in some patients, predominantly during exertion and
exacerbations (Mosenifar, 2014). Alterations in the airway involve chronic inflammation and
swelling of the bronchial mucosa causing scarring with increased fibrosis of the mucous membrane.
There is hypertrophy of the bronchial glands and goblets cell with an increase in bronchial wall
thickness, which leads to an obstruction of airflow. Goblet cells and mucosal glands that experience
hypertrophy cause a product of increased mucus that then combines with purulent exudate

Students Should Be Tested For Drug Use Essay
Makaiya Roy Mrs. King ELA 1st 07 April 2017 Teens Should be Tested for Drug Use Should
students be tested for drug use? Some people say no, that they shouldn t, but some others say
otherwise. Students should be required to take drug tests because many teenagers make bad
choices and do drugs, and some student athletes are taking performance enhancing drugs. First of
all, many teenagers make bad choices and do drugs. To begin with, of the seniors surveyed last
year, 16 percent had used cocaine at least once, 12 percent had used it during the previous year
and 6 percent were monthly users of the drug. Monthly use increased the most in the northeastern
states, from 7 percent in 1983 to 11 percent in 1984.This states that some teenagers make bad
choices and do drugs, so they should be tested for them. Among 12th graders, the most commonly
used drug was alcohol with 76.2% reporting lifetime use, followed by tobacco cigarettes with
50.9%, and marijuana with 43.6%. These statistics are reporting that many teenagers have taken
drugs within their lifetime, and drug tests would help with teen drug use so they could get help and
get unattached to drugs. The most commonly used drug among 9th graders was alcohol with 52.1%

Aquatic biologists from the Cape Cod National Seashore have published newsletters stating that
increased intertidal volume produces greatly increased tidal flushing. Better flushing will reduce
floodwater mosquito breeding on the wetland surface, dilute the presently high fecal coliform
counts that have closed river mouth shellfish beds, and improve water column aeration by
flooding the wetland twice each day with oxygen rich Cape Cod Bay water (CCNS, 2011). After
the restoration begins taking place and the water levels are allowed to rise, the greater amounts of
water will impact where they once dominated in the wetland soils that have fallen to being drained
by the dike. This will, in turn, offset the chemical effects of the dam that caused acidity issues and

But they need not have thought that they could possess her, body and soul (504). Although
Edna did perform her duties as a wife for some time, she is not the typical housewife. She does
not worship her husband or idolize her children, which makes both Edna and Leonce begin to
sense that Edna is different from the other mother women (Lin 1). Edna never realized the
reasons she neglected her duties as a wife until she fell in love with Robert and acknowledged that
her desires and needs exist outside of her marriage. Thus, after her experiences with Robert, Edna
is ready to neglect her husband even more, because she now realizes that her husband is holding
her back from her needs. When Leonce tries to make Edna act like the other women that obey their
husbands, his attempts to control Edna further instigate Edna s desire for independence from him.
For example, the scene when Edna is lying in the hammock, Leonce says: I can t permit you to
stay out there all night. You must come in the house instantly, Edna replies: I mean to stay out
here. I don t wish to go in, and I don t intend to. Don t speak to me like that again; I shall not

she does not want to lose herself. Becoming the perfect, obedient wife would mean losing her

Is Language In Interaction
One of the first things that comes into your mind when you hear the word language is
communication, isn t it? However language is much more than just communication. Language is
what makes you different from other human beings. Thanks to it, you can communicate with others,
express who you are, your ideas, feelings, thoughts, discomforts, etc. With languageyou can even
change the world, you can hurt a person or you can love a person. Language has many more aspects
than what you might think, some of them are: language choice, code switching, language in
interaction and finally language and gender.
The first aspect that language has is language choice in which, you can choose what kind of
language you want to use for a conversation. For example, when you talk to your friends you use a

with others, how they hold conversations, tell stories, make jokes, argue or tease one another (2009,

characteristics in Language in interaction:
Construction of identity: it refers to your interaction with others, you construct an identity which
includes your ethnic identity, national identity, cultural identity, gender, age, status etc. And this
construction of identity occurs through face to face interaction. However, not necessarily in every
interaction you construct all of these aspects. An illustration of these would be: when you talk to
others you get a self concept by the way that you act, move, express or talk.
Face to face interaction: refers to when you are talking to others physically present in real time.

It is believed that the cab driver was her ex fiance that came back as a demon, to take her to Hell for

The Nature Of Colonial Rule
The nature of colonial rule in the Congo was that of brute force, greed, and a lust for power. The
scramble for Africa was one that was headed by the Europeans with small as well as larger

with the idea of colonization came power as well as wealth. For King Leopold II of Belgium,

author of King Leopold s Ghost, writes that it may have been Leopold s lack of parenting that
made his lust for power and wealth so drastic.1 With failed attempts to buy the Philippines and
other land masses from other European countries, Leopold saw his only hope for his dream of
an Empire in Africa. Leopold had learned from his many attempts to buy a colony that none was
for sale; he would have to conquer it. 2 He wanted a colony because he too wanted to gain profit
from the natural resources the land would provide as he saw in France s success with Northern
Africa and England s success with South Africa. Explorers talked of Africa as if it had no
inhabitants and was just waiting to be filled by the cities and railway lines constructed through
the magic of European industry. 3 With Henry Stanley s expedition and research of empty Africa,
Leopold saw an opportunity to create an Empire. He acted as a philanthropist in public with only a
few of his closest people knowing about his true plans to colonize parts of

What Was The Compromise Of 1877-1960
1877 1960 s in our country is something to be remembered. It was a time of segregation, not
only forced by the government, but enforced by the KKK as well. The Compromise of 1877,
Jim Crow law, and Plessy v Fergusson were the events that shaped us into the nation we are
today. 1865 1877 was when everything within the nation was thriving. Most freed slaves were
learning to read and write, and were indulging in everything our country had to offer them.
Agriculture was at an all time high, and there didn t seem to be an end in sight. But as the sun
sets in November 1876, it rose upon a new nation, a land engulfed in hatred, segregation, and fear.
The Compromise of 1877 is best clarified when the election of 1876 is explained in detail. The

Alkyl Bromide Lab Report
Aim The purpose of this lab was to convert a primary alcohol to an alkyl bromide through SN2
reaction.
Introduction
A nucleophilic substitution reaction is when one group is substituted for another group and this
reaction proceeds via nucleophile. The SN2 reaction is one of the nucleophilic substitution reaction
where a nucleophile (electron rich) attacks a substrate that has a partial positive charge which
expels the leaving group out. The nucleophile attacks the carbon bonded to the leaving group from
the back, which leads to an inversion of stereochemistry. This reaction has only one step such that
the nucleophilic attack and the leaving group leaving happens in one concerted step. Some factors
which are essential for a SN2 reaction are that the carbon must be a methyl or primary carbon,
sometimes the reaction works with secondary carbons, but tertiary carbons are not reactive. This is
due to steric hindrance expressed by secondary and tertiary carbons. The nucleophile will not be
able to attack on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reactants were 1 butanol, H2SO4 and HBr. The limiting reagent in this reaction was 1
butanol. The moles of 1 butanol that was used in this reaction were 5.00g/(74.1 g/mol)= 0.0674
moles. The percent theoretical yield should be 100% and since 1 mol of 1 butanol should result

Financial Advertising in India
INSURANCE SECTOR
ADVERTISING
Insurance ads in india have come a long way in the last three decades. Be it television
commercials, print ads, or bill boards. The change is remarkably noticeable. Earlier most of the
advertising in this sector tended to play crudely on our consistent fear of the future and the
unknown. A case in point being the television advertisement of firms like United India Assurance,
National Insurance and Oriental Insurance. All the aforementioned companies provided insurance
policies for contingencies like fire, robbery and natural disasters. Television commercials of that
time tended to be rawly cooked scripts put together in the doors of hard sell copy. All of them
invariably, toyed with our fear factor. In the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One aspect that remained constant throughout were the seasonal ads spread across all major
Indian festivals. The overall image that SBI has managed to retain is that of a surly wisecrack
devoid of a human face. Specific regions meant ads in the local language or dialect even though
the sensibilities of the visual would be more or less pan Indian. Accordingly the advertising was
pretty much stagnant upto the mid 90 s when banks all over the world suddenly started touting
their wider array of services. The creatives were often compromised in order to make for a
greater resonance with the local sensibilities involved. Regionally affiliated branches of the bank
like State Bank of Patiala, State Bank of Maharashtra, State Bank of Indore etc sparsely took out
any ads of their own and even the ones released were very diminutive.
The upheaval started around the mid 90 s when State Bank of India started come out with a
spate of well thought and visually compact ads. One of them, for instance had a picture of a stick
shielding a golden egg from being crushed by a brick with the tagline Before You attached to it.
The message was stark and well crafted. This was followed by a phase where State Bank of India
started to advertise its wide range of services across the country.
The positional leverage of the Surprisingly SBI campaign was the fact that the bank had singularly

Pride and Power in George Orwell s Shooting an Elephant ...
Every writer has that one special quirk that keeps readers coming back for more. Whether it is the
humor or the characters, most authors carry their quirks from story to story. In Shooting an
Elephant, George Orwell describes his experience of shooting an elephant. In A Hanging, he
describes the emotions that run through him as he watches the hanging of a prisoner. Both essays
have similar key ideas that identify Orwell as a writer. The results of pride and power contribute to
the themes that connect his essays and identify Orwell as a descriptive writer.
One of Orwell s distinctive characteristics is his emphasis of his emotional response to life and
death in every situation. Orwell engages readers in his pieces because they feel ... Show more

Orwell is a very descriptive writer who emphasizes a different moral in every essay. He is not
simply describing an elephant shooting or a hanging; he is trying to make readers listen to his
messages. One of the messages that Orwell wants his readers to understand is the power that role
playing has on the human mind. Orwell demonstrates this theme quite easily in both essays. Before
killing the elephant, Orwell states, I had got to shoot the elephant. I had committed myself to doing
it when I sent for the rifle. A sahib has got to act like a sahib... (Orwell: Shooting an Elephant). This
statement illustrates how people with power must live up to their expectations to keep that
power. He knows he has the power to kill the animal, so he makes himself fit the role of a killer.
Power can affect the way people act. A modern day example of this is shown when gang
members act on thoughts of the group to gain acceptance by other members. The acceptance
gives them power and this is a universal idea that Orwell focuses on. Orwell also stresses power
to describe human nature. Orwell likes to use this in both essays because it explains the
inconsistency that humans have when power takes over. This is one of Orwell s morals he
stresses to his audience to make them realize the poor decisions people make when in power.
Orwell s writings are most identifiable by the idea that a sense of pride in one s actions and thoughts

The Principles Of Homeostasis And The Contribution Of The...
This essay aims to describe the principles of homeostasis, and the contribution of the cardiovascular
system to homeostasis. Using the example of congestive heart failure (CHF), the causes and the
consequences of a homeostatic imbalance in cardiac output will be explained.
Homeostatic principles
Homeostasis can generally be defined as the condition in which the body s internal environment
remains relatively constant within physiological limits [1]. This type of equilibrium is dynamic as
the body is constantly subject to stimuli, which produce stress responses (stressors). The body s
homeostatic mechanisms therefore act to counter these stressors and return equilibrium within
narrow limits that allow the body to maintain life. A key function of every body system is
preserving a constant internal environment, which involves maintaining the volume of body fluid.
To ensure that body cells function well, homeostasis is required to regulate the composition of
extracellular fluid (ECF), for example ECF within blood vessels is blood plasma; in the brain and
spinal cord this is cerebrospinal fluid. One third of body water is in the ECF [2], which constitutes
the body s internal environment . The precise regulation of substances such as glucose, oxygen,
ions and waste such as carbon dioxide is essential to ensure that cells are subject to conditions that
are optimum for life.
The stressors that the body could be exposed to can either originate from the internal or external

Impact Of Prematurity On Development Essay example
Impact of Premature Birth on Development
Years ago, premature birth almost always meant death for the baby. Today, however, we have the
technology to nurture these infants development, and many of them survive to lead normal, healthy
lives. Although, very premature infants (that is, those born before about the fifth month) are still
not likely to survive, many born at five months and older will thrive. Some preterm babies,
however, do have many obstacles to overcome. There are a variety of medical problems that affect
some of them, they may have impaired mental or physical conditions, and they may be looked upon
by others in their environment as slow, or they might be treated differently because they were...

This still puts them in the same IQ range as their full term peers. They are more likely to need
special education classes later in life, though, and more likely to have to repeat a grade in school.
This is most likely because some premature infants have been shown to have some cognitive
impairment when compared to full term infants of the same age. Their memories are not as good,
and their information processing speed is significantly lower.
There have been many studies performed that compare the cognitive performance of preterm
infants with full term infants. One study in particular, performed by Susan A. Rose and Judith
F. Feldman, tested the memory and the processing speed of preterm children versus full term
children at the age of eleven. They used the Colorado Specific Abilities Test, which is a
comparison of eight paper and pencil tasks the child must perform. This test showed the degree
of these four abilities: memory, perceptual speed, spatial ability, and verbal ability. They also
used the Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT) which is a detailed exam of memory and speed. This test
shows us exactly what aspects of speed and memory it is that pre and full term children differ in,
and how much this difference actually affects them. It is comprised of a set of basic cognitive tasks
used to study the individual elements of cognitive

from the first stanza. The last two lines are important for it shows the pressure that Americans had
on each other to achieve the American Dream . The father may have felt he could never achieve

What Is Swot Analysis Of Airasia
AirAsia was originally launched to compete with Malaysian Airline by offering low priced air

AirAsia is currently the second largest Airline in Malaysia and offers low cost airfares. This is

Crime Social Construct
Crime is a social construct because it is an idea that is established by a society to control the
behaviors of the people within the society ( Radical Concept of Crime ). What is considered to
be criminal varies within different area and cultures and even time. Things that were legal two
hundred years ago are illegal now. For example, in the 18th and 19th century when slavery was
allowed in America, there were a lot of people who saw nothing wrong with it because they had
been socialized to accept and justify it. If you ask most Americans now about slavery, they would
say that it was a tragedy or that they just cannot understand how it happened. This is because we

My Reading To Remember
Reading To Remember When I was a little kid growing up, my parents would read me books
every night sometimes multiple books at a time. Books that were read to me and the books I
read when I was in elementary school were and still are my favorite books. Reading is
something that I enjoy if the book covers the right topic, books like the Percy Jackson series,
Magic Treehouse, the Stink series and Bananas In Pyjamas. These stories remind me of a time
when I had no responsibilities and no stress. I wasn t the only one in my family who enjoyed
children s books. My parents also found joy in reading me books. A children s story that can
only be enjoyed by children is not a good children s story in the slightest. (Lewis) C.S. Lewis is a

revolve around the stories that I was told. All throughout elementary school teachers would
constantly nonstop preach about how reading was important and how reading was supposed to
improve creativity and memory. Teachers would take time out of the school day to read to us,
while reading the bookto the class, often the teacher would stop reading and ask us questions about
what we have read so far. On top of books being read to the class, we would have to read books on

the audience from the start. The slow build that led up to the trumpets and other brass
instruments folding in, possessed an almost militaristic feel. Upon looking into the composer, it
was no wonder why the triumphant sounds produced by the brass instruments came off as
militaristic. Copland composed the piece during World War II. According to Elizabeth Bergman

The desire to be American was symptomatic of the period, he wrote in a later reminiscence. He

a.Option 1: Escalation of the operation by increasing the number of soldiers. This includes troops

Individual customers generally buy one to three dozen bars at a time, while the corporate customers tend to buy in bulk then resell the co branded bar. (Element Bars, n.d.) Currently, there are very few competitors in the energy bar market that offer the same unique value proposition as Element Bars. As Miller points out in the case, there are few companies that are able to produce at the small (individual) scale that his company can. One of the first options that an entrepreneur will explore for financing is debt, usually through a bank loan. Before appearing on Shark Tank, Miller applied for a $40,000 business loan, but was rejected. Another financing option is a line of credit, but this can be costly as a result of fees and interest payments. For either of these options, Element Bars would almost always be rejected because the company has very little assets or collateral. Venture capitalis another option for a start up business, however, these types of companies tend to invest more in high growth potential companies like those in the technology industry. Miller could also approach his corporate customers with a proposal for their investment. He could offer interest in his company in exchange for capital. Immanuel Kant graced this earth from 1724 to 1804. During his eighty year life time, he formulated many interesting ideas regarding ethical conduct and motivation. Kant is strictly a non consequentialist philosopher, which means that he believes that a person s choices should have nothing to do with the desired outcome, but instead mankind simply goes about doing good because it is morally correct. Kant theorizes that moral reasoning is not based on factual knowledge and that reason by itself can reveal the basic principles of morality. Ideas contemplated and developed and theorized by... Regardless of goals or desired outcome, the categorical imperative commands unconditionally. (Shaw, 67) Kant developed another idea which exemplifies that of the categorical imperative. The principle of universal acceptability states that as rational, moral beings, individuals are bound by logic and its demands. Because logic is consistent, individuals all live by the same moral law. in order to determine whether a rule is a moral law, we can thus ask if the rule commands would be acceptable to all rational beings acting rationally. (Shaw, 67) Kant s view of universal acceptability appears to be intertwined with echoes of the golden rule. Another famous theory developed by Kant further explaining the categorical imperative is the idea of humanity as an end and never merely as a means. Individuals should never treat someone a special way in an effort to get gain. In other words, Kant developed the theory we hear in nursery school of, treat others as you would like to be treated. Logically, this theory states that rational beings recognize their worth and the worth of others. As a rational thinker, one would not want to be used as a means to an end. Immanuel Kant s formalism theory poses many compelling and interesting points of view. On the surface, the categorical imperative seems to be a great measuring device ... Leopold had learned from his many attempts to buy a colony that none was for sale; he would have to conquer it. 2 He wanted a colony because he too wanted to gain profit from the natural resources the land would provide as he saw in France s success with Northern Africa and England s success with South Africa. The SN2 reaction is one of the nucleophilic substitution reaction where a nucleophile (electron rich) attacks a substrate that has a partial positive charge which expels the leaving group out. The nucleophile attacks the carbon bonded to the leaving group from the back, which leads to an inversion of stereochemistry. This reaction has only one step such that the nucleophilic attack and the leaving group leaving happens in one concerted step. Some factors which are essential for a SN2 reaction are that the carbon must be a methyl or primary carbon, sometimes the reaction works with secondary carbons, but tertiary carbons are not reactive. This is due to steric hindrance expressed by secondary and tertiary carbons. The nucleophile will not be able to attack on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reactants were 1 butanol, H2SO4 and HBr. The limiting reagent in this reaction was 1 butanol. The moles of 1 butanol that was used in this reaction were 5.00g/(74.1 g/mol)= 0.0674 moles. The percent theoretical yield should be 100% and since 1 mol of 1 butanol should result also result in 1 mol of 1 bromobutane. The theoretical yield of the product should be 0.0674 moles. The experimental mass of the product 1 bromobutane was 3.390 g and the molar mass of 1 bromobutane is 137.0 g/mol. So, the moles of the product are 3.390g/(137.0g/mol)= 0.0247 moles. Hence, the yield of this reaction is 0.0247/0.0674x 100= 36.65%. The yield was very low due to errors such as inconsistent heat applied during refluxing and simple distillation, error while transferring the product from the distillate to a flask and the product could have dissolved all leading to low ... • 30. Financial Advertising in India INSURANCE SECTOR ADVERTISING Insurance ads in india have come a long way in the last three decades. Be it television commercials, print ads, or bill boards. The change is remarkably noticeable. Earlier most of the advertising in this sector tended to play crudely on our consistent fear of the future and the unknown. A case in point being the television advertisement of firms like United India Assurance, National Insurance and Oriental Insurance. All the aforementioned companies provided insurance policies for contingencies like fire, robbery and natural disasters. Television commercials of that time tended to be rawly cooked scripts put together in the doors of hard sell copy. All of them invariably, toyed with our fear factor. In the... Accordingly the advertising was pretty much stagnant upto the mid 90 s when banks all over the world suddenly started touting their wider array of services. The creatives were often compromised in order to make for a greater resonance with the local sensibilities involved. Regionally affiliated branches of the bank like State Bank of Patiala, State Bank of Maharashtra, State Bank of Indore etc sparsely took out any ads of their own and even the ones released were very diminutive. The upheaval started around the mid 90 s when State Bank of India started come out with a spate of well thought and visually compact ads. Whether it is the humor or the characters, most authors carry their quirks from story to story. In Shooting an Elephant, George Orwell describes his experience of shooting an elephant. In A Hanging, he describes the emotions that run through him as he watches the hanging of a prisoner. Both essays have similar key ideas that identify Orwell as a writer. The results of pride and power contribute to the themes that connect his essays and identify Orwell as a descriptive writer. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Orwell is a very descriptive writer who emphasizes a different moral in every essay. He is not simply describing an elephant shooting or a hanging; he is trying to make readers listen to his messages. One of the messages that Orwell wants his readers to understand is the power that role playing has on the human mind. Orwell demonstrates this theme quite easily in both essays. Before killing the elephant, Orwell states, I had got to shoot the elephant. I had committed myself to doing it when I sent for the rifle. A sahib has got to act like a sahib... (Orwell: Shooting an Elephant). This statement illustrates how people with power must live up to their expectations to keep that power. He knows he has the power to kill the animal, so he makes himself fit the role of a killer. Power can affect the way people act. A modern day example of this is shown when gang members act on thoughts of the group to gain acceptance by other members. The acceptance gives them power and this is a universal idea that Orwell focuses on. Orwell also stresses power to describe human nature. Orwell likes to use this in both essays because it explains the inconsistency that humans have when power takes over. This is one of Orwell s morals he stresses to his audience to make them realize the poor decisions people make when in power. • 33. The Principles Of Homeostasis And The Contribution Of The... This essay aims to describe the principles of homeostasis, and the contribution of the cardiovascular system to homeostasis. Using the example of congestive heart failure (CHF), the causes and the consequences of a homeostatic imbalance in cardiac output will be explained. Homeostatic principles Homeostasis can generally be defined as the condition in which the body s internal environment remains relatively constant within physiological limits [1]. This type of equilibrium is dynamic as the body is constantly subject to stimuli, which produce stress responses (stressors). The body s homeostatic mechanisms therefore act to counter these stressors and return equilibrium within narrow limits that allow the body to maintain life. A key function of every body system is preserving a constant internal environment, which involves maintaining the volume of body fluid. To ensure that body cells function well, homeostasis is required to regulate the composition of extracellular fluid (ECF), for example ECF within blood vessels is blood plasma; in the brain and spinal cord this is cerebrospinal fluid. One third of body water is in the ECF [2], which constitutes the body s internal environment . The precise regulation of substances such as glucose, oxygen, ions and waste such as carbon dioxide is essential to ensure that cells are subject to conditions that are optimum for life. This is most likely because some premature infants have been shown to have some cognitive impairment when compared to full term infants of the same age. Their memories are not as good, and their information processing speed is significantly lower. There have been many studies performed that compare the cognitive performance of preterm infants with full term infants. One study in particular, performed by Susan A. Rose and Judith F. Feldman, tested the memory and the processing speed of preterm children versus full term children at the age of eleven. They used the Colorado Specific Abilities Test, which is a comparison of eight paper and pencil tasks the child must perform. This test showed the degree of these four abilities: memory, perceptual speed, spatial ability, and verbal ability. The pang of a gong, and the beat of the drums, immediately captured and captivated the audience from the start. The slow build that led up to the trumpets and other brass instruments folding in, possessed an almost militaristic feel. Upon looking into the composer, it was no wonder why the triumphant sounds produced by the brass instruments came off as militaristic. Copland composed the piece during World War II.
