Looking For In A Collage
My senior year is quickly approaching and it is time to start looking for collages that I am interested
in. The way that I will be most successful in college is to go to a collage that offers a great teaching
program, has a soccer team, and has great dorms. Another big thing that I am looking for is going to a
collage with an affordable price and closer to home. I want to be able to come home on the weekends
to see family and friends. There are a few colleges in mind that I think will allow me to do my very
best. Shippensburg, York, and Millersville all have what I am looking for in a collage. Now it comes
down to the details that will allow me to to really pick my final choice. The first college that I am
looking at is Shippensburg University. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Millersville by far has the best teaching program (Master s in Early Childhood Education). To be able
to get into Millersville, you have to have a B average (Millersville University of Pennsylvania SAT
Scores and GPA). The GPA requirements is a reachable goal for me considering that I have a A and B
average grades in high school. The price at Millersville is close to the price of Shippensburg and York
College (Graduate Tuition and Fees 2017 2018). Millersvilles price to live on campus would be
$24,080 (Quick Links). The price of Millersville is affordable to live on campus and I know that I will
enjoy my time there with the dorms that look very nice and comfortable (Housing). The dorm that that
would be the comfortable for me would cost $4,856 (Housing). Not only is the collage a great price
and the dorms are very nice, but the Millersville soccer team is also what I am looking for
(Millersville University Athletics). Millersville soccer team is Division II and they have a pretty goot
record (Millersville University Athletics). Their record of 2017 is 6 9 2 (Millersville University
Athletics). Lastly, the soccer team carries a lot of girls on the team, which is something to consider
because I want to be able to get a lot of playing time in my four years of playing (Millersville

Case Study Assessment At A Birmingham Podiatry Clinic
Case study assessment.
A 47 year old female patient attends a Birmingham podiatry clinic with callus and heloma durum
presenting on the plantar surface of the 1st MTPJ of the left foot. The patient is generally fit and well,
and requires routine treatment.
To enable the podiatrist to treat callus and corn, they must first understand the biological process that
leads to the pathology. Callus, or hyperkeratosis, a diffuse area of relatively even thickness (Lorimer et
al.1997), is formed from hypertrophy of the superficial layer of the epidermis, the stratum corneum,

Haiti Earthquake Summary
This case study involves the troubled aftermath of the 2010 Haiti earthquake and the unkept promises
made to Haiti by surrounding countries, most notably, the United States. The story focuses on Pierre,
the student of a state university in Florida, whose parents migrated to Florida from Haiti in the mid
1970s. The passage begins with Pierre desperately voicing his concerns to his professor for Haiti and
the lack of involvement and compassion the outside world has for Haiti during such devastating times.
Although the United States is not the only country guilty of unfulfilled promises to Haiti, most
Haitians have directed their anger toward the US due of feelings of betrayal (Pg. 115). America has a
history of exploiting Haiti for self gain under the disguise of aid , most notably in regard to Haiti s
small scale farming. Haitians now rely on imported US rice, a product they once grew for themselves.
The US is also responsible for the extermination of Haiti s 1.3 million pigs (Pg. 116). Americans have
discriminated against Haitians in the past and continue to stigmatize Haiti based on their indigenous
religion, Vodou, and the false idea ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Christians are also guided by the practice of showing kindness, giving, and caring about others. I

My Experience In Writing
While writing might seem like a simple task, it can be a daunting task for a lot of people. Sometimes it
can be hard to express the ideas in your mind in the words of a paper. This results in a disconnect with
what a writer may actually think. A great writer is one that can transform his thoughts into words
perfectly. This is a craft that takes many years to perfect, which is why writing is troublesome for a lot
of us. Many students also have had bad experiences with writing. Maybe they had a teacher that didn t
try to support them and their writing. They might not have ever gotten the help they needed and may
feel that they are in a hole where their writing can t get better. At this point, they just accept that their
writing will never get better. I have felt like this many times in the past, so I can completely
understand the way a lot of people feel about writing. I have noticed that it has always taken a great
teacher to help me get past these points. Those teachers take the time to empower me and truly help
me improve my writing. It takes more than just some markings on a paper for someone to improve
their writing. I have noticed that if I am able to have a conversation about my writing with a teacher,
they can better understand what I am trying to convey, and therefore can show me a better way to
express my ideas through my writing. These connections I have had with some of my teachers have
really empowered me and my writing greatly. Writing for me can be frustrating

Zapata Class Divide
The Mexican muralist movement produced artwork on walls that defined the social and political
atmosphere of Mexico. Diego Rivera was an innovator in the muralist movement that helped depict
the Mexican Revolution for its violence and demand for equality among the lower class (Gonzales 240
45). Rivera s painting, Agrarian Leader Zapata, exemplifies the hardships of the revolution through a
group of rebel, lower class farmers led by Emiliano Zapata who is standing over a dead, elite soldier.
Agrarian Leader Zapata, utilizes the contrast of the soldiers, the focus on Zapata, and symbolism to
convey the idea that the class divide was the root of violence and the outbreak of the Mexican
Revolution. Rivera uses aesthetic disparities the farmers and the soldier to illustrate the class divide
present in Mexico. Rivera exhibits class divide, notably through the clothing and weaponry of the
figures. Rivera uses clothing to convey the motivations of the farmers. The farmers wear white while
the soldier wears a traditional dark, military uniform. The contrast of the white clothing of the farmers
and dark clothing of the soldier shows the farmers were pure and ... Show more content on

Despite symbolizing freedom, the horse raises the question; is the horse the soldier s or Zapata s? This
then questions the integrity of the farmers because is killing and stealing justifiable if it is the name of
equality? These questions expand the symbolism of the horse to a symbol for the bridge of equality
between the elite and the poor. This emphasizes that equality in Mexico will be violent if not given
and implies that the sharing of material items and social status will aid in reaching an egalitarian
society. The horse in the painting is important to the class divide in the Mexican Revolution because it
reveals the violence and the societal gap between the upper and lower

Speech On Single Mom
Shes a single mom so what?
Last week I walked inside a medical office for an interview and listened as a nurse said to a women,
Oh so you re a single mom . The way she said it you could tell she wasn t asking she was more like oh
so your one of those. I never understand the why people minds go afar when speaking about single
mothers. This women goes on to ask did the father just up and leave when he found out she was
pregnant. Looking in the face of that single mother face you can tell she was young and also a little
uncomfortable. I started thinking there are more than one way she could have be considered a single
mother. This women boyfriend/ husband could be deceased, she could have chosen to me a single
mother, or she is going through a divorce either way saying she s a single mom is not a bad thing.
A few minutes after the women walked away the same who called my name to come in the back. I
walked and I listened as she talked about her husband and kids then asked me if I had any. I answered
her with a simple yes and wanted to drop it. Instead I was asked about my kid and id I was married
while making small talk waiting for two other people. She looks at my ring on my hand and went on
to say how she doesn t understand single mothers and why they would want that life for their kids. I
then start giving her my two cents in the matter, I told her how more than 57% of families are single
mother homes. If this women was like my aunt her husband died in Iraq before her two son s where
even born. Out of that 57% of women only 10% get pregnant knowing they will be single mothers.
She looked at me like I had said something wrong but to me I was saying everything right.
Then I spoke on how that 10% of women have kids because they know they will be great at being a
parent with or without a partner. From what I read in my classes most women over the age of 30 get
pregnant to be single mothers, there are even support groups to help them. That make this chose and
they look at all the options they have. They can t adopt a kids a single woman trying to adopt a kid
look s bad on paper. So they take the option to have the baby by themselves paying up to 100 thousand
dollars to even conceive a baby. She looked at me when

Essay on Federal Reserve Act
The Federal Reserve: A Knight in Shining Armor
quot;To suffer either the solicitation of merchants or the wishes
of government, to determine the measure of the bank issues,
is unquestionably to adopt a very false principle of conduct. quot;
Henry Thornton, 1802
The banker was frantic. A large mob was gathering outside his bank and the people were clamoring for
their money. The banker called the Federal Reserve Bank in Minneapolis and warned that unless this
quot;mad run quot; were stopped, he would soon be out of currency. With the bank nearly two

The credit system of the country had ceased to operate, and thousands of firms went into bankruptcy
(Born...,.12). Something had to be done that would provide for a flexible amount of currency as well
as provide cohesion between banks across the United States. (Hepburn, 399) This knight in shining
armor, as described in the story of the bank run, was the Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve Act of
1913 helped to establish banks as a united force working for the people instead of independent
agencies working against each other. By providing a flexible amount of currency, banks did not have
to hoard their money in fear of a bank run. Because of this, there was no competitive edge to see who
could keep the most currency on hand and a more expansionary economy was possible.
The evolution of the Federal Reserve did not begin on December 23, 1913 with the passage of the
Federal Reserve Act. Rather, it began with the Banking Panic of 1907, the most severe of the four
national banking panics that had occurred in the precious thirty four years.
In response to this panic, a committee was established to find the flaws of the current banking system.
This committee, the National Monetary Commission, found there were two main flaws dominating the
system. First, the currency was not responsive to changes in demand. (Born...13). This meant that the
bank had a fixed amount of currency, regardless of the

Hurricane Katrina had a devastating impact both economically, and politically, while also changing
how we handle natural disasters. Hurricane Katrina had caused many people to lose their homes and
costing billions. People were displaced from their homes; some lost everything they had. Many left the
area and did not return. With more than 1,800 deaths in five states and $81 billion in property damage.
Hurricane Katrina, although only starting at a category one, eventually did reach a category five
causing extreme damage. Oil refineries, cargo facilities and fisheries, and New Orleans s tourist

Hour Vs Interlopers
The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin and The Interlopers by Saki are two completely different
stories. It s really hard to find the similarities and differences between the two. However, if you look
closely and pay attention to the story, you will clearly see them.
The Story of an Hour is about a woman who believes that her husband is dead and imagines a brand
new freedom for herself. In the beginning of the story, we are introduced to Mrs. Mallard, who has
been told that her husband is dead in a train wreck. Mrs. Mallard reacts like any wife would do; she
excused herself and locked herself up in her bedroom. However, while thinking about it, she feels
happy about her husband s death. Not that her husband is a bad man, but she can sense ... Show more

She said it over and over under the breath: free, free, free! The vacant stare and the look of terror that
had followed it went from her eyes. They stayed keen and bright. Her pulse beats quickly, and the
coursing blood warmed and relaxed every inch of her body. (Chopin 34 38)
Mrs. Mallard is now free and she feels a monstrous joy inside her. She welcomes this new freedom,
arises, opens the door of her room, and carries herself unwittingly like a goddess of Victory (Chopin
63)
As Mrs. Mallard and her sister Josephine walked down the stairs, someone was opening the door. It
was Mrs. Mallard s supposedly dead husband, Mr. Brently Mallard. Right at that moment, Mrs.
Mallard has had a heart attack, and instantly died. In my opinion, she did not die because of the joy
that kills ; she died because her freedom was taken away from her.
The Interlopers is about two brothers named Ulrich von Gradwitz and Georg Znaeym, who hate each
other and are fighting over a piece of land that they inherited from their grandfather. Night came and
they are out hunting for each other when a tree falls on them, trapping them in the woods. They argue
about whose men are going to arrive first to save their master and kill the other

The Immigration Of Americ The Land Of The Free
The idea of immigration to America has been an extremely important part of the history of the country
for hundreds of years. Some of the original immigrants to America were the settlers in 1607, when a
group of men from England started a colony admits the swamplands of current day Virginia. Several
years later in 1620, a group of puritans known as the Pilgrims also made their way to America to start
a new life. Since then, millions have traveled across the ocean in hope of a new life and future in what
is known as The Land of the Free. Just like much of the eastern side of the country, the immigration of
Europeans to America played a very important role in the history of Michigan as well. It is through
these immigrants that the religion, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Almost immediately after settlers started immigrating to America, Christian missionaries followed
closely behind, feeling it was their duty in the eyes of God to witness to the native people, and tell
them about what they believed to be the one and only true religion. Father Joseph LeCaron was one of
the first missionaries to come to America in the year 1615 (21). Several years later in 1665, Father
Claude Allouez also traveled from France to the Great Lakes when he first encountered some Natives
and their religious practices. He explains in a letter to his superiors in France that the natives were
worshiping a lake. The savages revere this lake as a divinity and offer it sacrifices, whether on account
of its size, or because of its goodness in furnishing fish...One often finds at the bottom of the water
pieces of pure copper...I have several times seen such pieces in the savages hands; and, since they are
superstitious, they keep them as so many divinities or as presents which the gods dwelling beneath the
water have given them and on which their welfare is to depend (Primary Document, 13). Another
primary document dating back to the year 1669, tells of when Adrien Jolliet, a French explorer and
missionary encountered a group of Natives practicing their religion. He explains in his writing that he
and his men had to set the Iroquois tribe straight when Jolliet

this directorate is to ensure the safety of the United States transport infrastructure. The main objective
of this paper is to analyze the objectives of the TSA and determine whether they are in alignment with
the objectives of the department of homeland security. This ensures that the directorate works towards
achieving the overall goal of the DHS as stipulated in its objectives. This ensures efficiency as
duplication of roles with other directorates in the DHS is eliminated. The report will also examine the
agencies priorities in order to determine whether they are aligned with the departmental priorities. Any
noted misalignments will be identified and recommendations provided on aligning them. Purpose

Neanderthals Anthropology
The public common conception of Neanderthals is that they were the less intelligent, lumbering
cousins of old modern man who died off because they just were not enough equipped or intelligent as
their cousins. Some people think that for decades after the first discovery of their bone, homo
neanderthalensis was observed as a hairy wanton who tumbled around Ice Age Eurasia on bent knees,
finally to be exchanged by elegant, straight Cro Magnon, the true progenitor of modernistic
Europeans. Wholeheartedly, I disagree with this view. I think archaeological and research evidence
has shown that the Neanderthals lived in a hard, changing environment, and survived then reproduced
for over 250 thousand years despite the hardships they likely faced. Also,

Hieronymus Bosch
In the era of Reformation and late Renaissance, Hieronymus Bosch created a painting call The
Creation of Eve: The Garden of Earthly Delights . During this time, Bosh made a statement with his
painting about religion coming back. The painting he did depicted how he saw the reformation in his
eyes and how people lost sight of the true meaning of religion. Jeroen van Aeken, or Hieronymus
Bosh which is his professional artist name, was born in Brabant, where present day Netherlands is
located. Bosh was brought into a family of painters and who were also involved of selling art. This
would lead Bosch into the world of art and become a well known renaissance artist. Bosch did not

The art Piece the Creation of Eve... is easily a panting that was telling how life was through his eyes.
With the knowledge of the bible about God, Adam, and Eve meeting each other was the first sign of
sin. Being religious, Bosch, knew that in the present , or the middle part of his art piece, that everyone
was sinning and only cared about themselves. That everyone is rejecting the Lord s word and living in
their own paradise. With the knowledge of surrealism paining, he made this piece to look very odd to
others in that time. The reason is because he knew that this technique would bring people together and
realize what is going around the world. Now with the last sections of the painting, Bosch painted it by
experience. The last slot shows a world where it is doomed and destroyed. For Bosch, he has seen this
because he was living in the moment after the dark ages. This influence him to create a dark future
where everything is lost and lonely. Overall, Bosch was giving the people a view on how sin can hurt

Global Unification through Handheld Technology Essay
Global Unification through Handheld Technology Handheld technology: is it the greatest invention
since sliced bread? (Lewis 1). Whether or not these technologies will be remembered as one of the
greatest inventions of all time is yet to be determined, but handheld technologies are definitely
changing the way people access and work with information. Handheld technologies were first created
to help make some of life s current tasks simpler and faster to complete. Two of the main handheld
technologies are the Global Positioning System (GPS) and the Personal Data Assistant (PDA). The

Four GPS satellite signals are used to compute positions in three dimensions and the time offset in the

Although the GPS was created for the U.S. military, ordinary citizens are currently using it for several
other purposes. These were not initially thought of as being functions for the GPS, though. As Sam
Nitzberg said, The Global Positioning system (GPS) was developed by the US military in order to
better effect its many missions. GPS can be used to effectively guide and provide navigational support
to military vessels, combat aircraft, covert action teams, and missile systems. What was not predicted
when GPS technologies were being developed was how GPS would eventually be incorporated into
civilian aircraft systems, automobiles, personal GPS systems which plug into computers equipped

necessarily always possible to work on technologies and understand what their ultimate use will be

Just as some of the current uses of GPS could not be guessed, the current uses of PDAs are yet to be

Movies Cause Failure In Relationships
According to recent studies, the average American takes about 3,500 to 5,000 marketing messages a
day and spends about 41 hours per week using technology such as cell phones, TV and internet.
Living rooms of the modern era are centered around a TV, in our modern age we all grow up drowning
in a sea of technology and social media. Videos, movies, books, television, internet and the social
media sites all clamor for our attention. From an early age, television, movies and books provides a
false idea of what romantic relationships are like and what it should be. There is nothing like life
Prince Charming, it does not really exist, and the hero does not always save the girl. I really think that
the movies today in our community is nothing more than a propaganda only because it teaches us the
wrong things about relationships that are not true and many times not possible in our community.
These brings me to the point that I am trying to get across is that, Social media, movies and TV
teaches us things about relationships that are not possible and are wrong, which causes failure in
relationships. Consider these examples from the movie that shows how movies cause failure in
relationships. I have also seen many movies that clearly demonstrate how movies, social media sites
and media cause failure in relationship. One of the best example would be the movie Notebook. There
is a scene from the movie where the main character says, I wrote you 365 letters, I wrote you every

Macbeth Historical Context
In William Shakespeare s Macbeth the male characters Macbeth, Macduff, Banquo and Duncan really
give you and insight in to the time the play was written. Shakespeare s Macbeth was written in the
Elizabethan era during King James reign as King over 400 years ago.
King Duncan is introduced to the play in act 1 scene 2. King Duncan is seen as a great, noble, highly
thought of King. He is in The Monarch which is the highest in the social order.
Go pronounce his present death,
And with his former title greet Macbeth. This quote conveys the power King Duncan has and the price
you have to pay for committing reason. King Duncan also thought highly of Macbeth and Banquo and

Macduff and Malcolm plan to overthrow Macbeth as he has turned into an evil tyrant and is running
Scotland into the ground.
Make all our trumpets speak give them all breath,
Those clamorous harbingers of blood and death! In this era wars happened quite often because of a
disagreement or problems with a country.
Macbeth is a true example of a tragic hero. At the beginning of the play Macbeth is seen a noble,
brave, great thane and part of The Nobility. In the play the witches played a major part of Macbeth s
downfall. Speak if you can: what are you? This quote is the first encounter has with the witches. King
James was very interested in the supernatural and even wrote about it. Shakespeare may have put
aspects of the supernatural in the pay to keep the King intrigued.
Once Macbeth starts to have murderous thoughts he says this very famous quote;
Stars hide your fires,
Let not light see my black and deep desires.
In the play it emphasises that every evil happened in darkness. Elizabethans also believed in this. I
have no spur
To prick the sides of my intent but only
Vaulting ambition. In theatre Macbeth is known for being ambitious but his vaulting ambition ended
up being his downfall.
In Macbeth, Macbeth was known for his relationship with his controlling wife, Lady Macbeth. My

The case of the Singapore students attending the UK MBA Program
1. Introduction and background
1.1. Setting the context The modern day society is evolving at a rapid pace, with this fast rhythm of
development being forced by the advancement of technology. In this particular setting, technologic
innovations impact every aspect of life, from the completion of the small leisure chores, to the very
possibility of saving our lives. Technologic innovation is as such the force driving advancement and
evolution, and this is obvious at multiple levels. One specific technologic innovation which is
becoming more and more present in the lives of the modern day individuals is represented by the
tablet computer, with the most popular representatives of this category being the Apple iPad and the
Google Android tablet. The tablet computers are characterized by increased portability, meaning that
they eliminate the barriers of being obliged to manage information from the desk in the home or the
office. The tablet computers are easy to use; they integrate a multitude of features and they support
communication outside wired technology. These new devices are becoming more and more present in
the lives of the young adults everywhere, including the students in Singapore. In this setting, the future
research project would set out to assess the means in which the tablet computers impact the

On Genetically Modified Crops Nowadays, most people assumed that the genetically modified (GM)

effect of genetically modified GM crops for the health, the environment, the society, the food safety,

The Influence Of Political Culture In Texas
The definition of political culture can be given as the collection of sentiments and convictions which
allow signification and consistency to a political process. Said definition also includes providing the
norms and latent assumptions that determine conduct in a political system. Ergo, political culture can
be considered a reflection of the beliefs and opinions of a culture s people about the concept of
government, including specifically how said people think others should regard such. As such, the
political culture of a given system is the accumulation of the culture s composite history as well as the
personal histories of individuals within the system. According to Daniel Elazar, the political culture of
the state of Texas can be considered a combination of traditionalistic and individualistic elements
(Elazar). Texas low level of voter turnout, along with the attending voters tending towards
conservative attitudes regarding economic and social issues, contributes to the predominance of a ...

The Development of Object Permanence
I never realized when I played Peek A Boo with different infants in my family, that I was teaching

play and it made them laugh. I didn t know that this was so funny to them because they were
fascinated with the fact that for one moment I wasn t there and a moment later I popped back up. Little
did I know I was teaching them one of their most important accomplishments. Adults and older

These infants will sometimes make the mistake referred to as the A not B mistake. If an object is
repeatedly hidden in a particular place, an infant of this age will continue to look for the object there
despite the fact that they may have watched you hide the object in another place. Infants this age are
working according to an automatic process. By the time they are in the fifth sub stage between the
ages of twelve and eighteen months infants tend to grow out of this automatic processing and they
begin to search for an object in the last place that they saw it hidden. Once an infant reaches the last
sub stage between the ages of eighteen and twenty four months he has mastered all the is to know
about object permanence according to Piaget(Siegler Alibali, 2005). Since Piaget made these claims
there have been many experiments done that sought to disprove the claims that Piaget made. These
experiments thought that Piaget was giving infants far less credit than they deserved. Other
developmental psychologist wanted to prove that in fact infants learned the concept of object

ideas as to why the infants failed to reach or search for objects that were hidden. They wouldn t go as

Galveston Island Case Study
Introduction Galveston Island is rich in history and has population history that archeologist have dated
back to Native Americans. It was settled by Europeans and established as a port for the Republic of
Mexico. It was rich in immigration and dominated trade. It has a history of turmoil caused by war and
natural disasters. Galveston Island formed as a typical barrier island. Galveston s formation took place
5000 years ago, as wind and wave energy along with rising sea water levels moved sand around to
form the island. The wave and wind energy is indicative of storm surge often caused by hurricane
interaction. The building up of Galveston Island continued until 3000 years ago. The coastal shoreline
continues to change and those changes appear to be happening more rapidly than once believed. There
are several things that impact the changing shoreline of Galveston Island including; changes in sea
level, subsidence, erosion, and destruction of coastal protections like dunes, marshes, and wetlands, all
of which are highly impacted by powerful storms and hurricanes. Discussion ... Show more content on

When the sea level rises, this can be due to multiple factors including climate change and subsidence.
Climate change and warming reports identify that postglacial temperature has increased 13°F in the
Gulf region (Morton 22). This is important evidence because rising temperatures coincide with rising
sea levels. As sea water warms, it expands and takes up more room causing sea levels to rise.
Additionally, melting glacial ice cause the rise of sea level and is due to climate warming as

Taylor Swifts
At the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye West stormed the stage, and vehemently declared that
Beyonce s music video was better than winner Taylor Swifts. The two nominated videos for best
music video by a female performer were: Taylor Swifts You Belong With Me , and Beyonce s Single
Ladies.
While the videos were nominated for the same award, they are significantly different. Mainly due to
the fact that the genre s of the two artists are varied. Taylor Swift being a country singer, and Beyonce
a pop singer. Beyonce s video contributes to the pop genre consisting of urban contemporary, and
dance style. Most commonly using a repeated chorus, and a hook: a rhythmic phrase making the song

genre, and the love story, the song and video are trying to capture.

The Proliferation Of Crises Around The World
The proliferation of crises around the world has led to a prominent increase in the fascination, as well

numerous individuals to pursue a career being social entrepreneur as it promises to solve some of the

Consequently, this has led to an era of heropreneurship in which many individuals inspire to become

many individuals work towards creating an attractive social enterprise or demand jobs with a social
purpose . Nonetheless, while heropreneurship can be seen as an inspiring and exciting era, there is
room for further improvement. First, due to heropreneurship, the line between quick solutions and
progress has been blurred. While tackling these problems is considered a noble deed and personally
valuable, many individuals are not working towards solving the root of the problems that occur in the
affected countries. Rupert Scofield (2011) in his text, The Social Entrepreneurs Handbook explains

short term solutions and disguise it as a long term because they do not fully understand all aspects of
the problem. It is important to realize that implementing successful and sustainable solutions involves
hard work. Investigating the root cause of the problem, as well as researching existing solutions and

large profits from adverts and the advertisers can sell lots of products. Therefore the paper needs to

designed to give a dramatic look to the page as it is in a huge, bold text. It is also a WOB (white on

lots of stress to the headline as it is a powerful word that has a dramatic. The use of Blair Mutiny is
clever as it mimics The Cain Mutiny which was when the crew of Cain s ship mutinied, just like now
as Blair s crew , the cabinet are revolting. The Independents headline of Short faces the sack over act
of treachery is much less in your face as it is printed in a much smaller print than the Mail s and also it
isn t in bold. Unlike the Mail the independent haven t used WOB (white on black) which gives it a
lower profile. The use of the word treachery gives it more drama and emphasis. Although it is obvious

Identification of Strategy for Adidas
Through Adidas mission statement which dictates the direction for the Adidas s strategy; Adidas s
missions statement sets the trajectory for Adidas to compete towards becoming the leading sports
brand in the world. Based on data to be included herein, Adidas clearly has enacted this strategy in its
North American market. With this being determined, Adidas is clearly defined as an organization that
incorporates a broad differentiation strategic plan. However, by the very nature of this sports company
conducting business as a diversified multinational organization, Adidas also implements a segmented
strategy plan depending on the various markets. What is broad about the Adidas strategy is the
company s intent to differentiate it products worldwide with premium quantity materials and with the
exertion of controls of retail outlets. These was demonstrated recently as the company has started an
internal evaluation to decide whether to pull products from Footlocker outlets, which is known for its

The Portrait Of Elizabeth Farren, The Late Countess Of Derby
This formal comparison of two paintings displayed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Elizabeth
Farren, the Late Countess of Derby (ca. 1790), by Sir Tomas Lawrence, and Madame Aguste Cuoq
(ca. 1852 57), by Gustave Gourbet, brings attention the distinctions and similarities in the approaches
each artist took to present these two women s personalities living in the 18th and 19th century.
Initially the first thing the viewer notes is that, both paintings are full body length portraits of women,
who are focused directly at the viewer. The scale of both women figures, are fairly similar to human
size and their position allows the viewer to get a feel of the uniqueness of each woman s personality,
fashion and style. The portrait of Elizabeth Farren, The Late Countess of Derby, depicts an older
woman of age standing in the middle of a natural outdoor background. Her pose is rather modest, and
natural while, her right hand is holding a fur cloak that just covers her bosom area. She is standing
slightly leaning towards the front. She appears to be very graceful, and symmetric in dimension. The
texture of her hair appears grey and powdered. The expression of her face is calm and innocent,
however the eyes give an impression she stands as a strong female figure. Her cheeks have a natural
blush tone color to them. Mrs. Farren holds a fur beige, white and brown purse in her left hand, with a
velvet blue ribbon attached. On her left hand, the viewer can see she is wearing brown leather

Interstitial Nephritis
A child with abrupt onset of acute kidney injury with a fever, rash, and a urinalysis with abnormal
urinary sediment should be highly suspected of having acute interstitial nephritis (AIN). In 75% of
cases, AIN is a drug induced hypersensitivity reaction. It is characterized by the classic triad of fever,
rash, and arthralgia, with acute renal dysfunction resulting from the infiltration and activity of
inflammatory cells when the drug/antigen is exposed to the interstitium of the kidney. Medications
commonly associated with AIN include nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), antibiotics,
diuretics, and proton pump inhibitors. Nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drugs are the most common, the
most studied, and possibly the most avoidable drugs that cause AIN induced acute kidney injury. The
mainstay of treatment of drug induced AIN is to discontinue treatment with the offending drug as soon
as possible and restore and/or maintain intravascular volume with isotonic fluids to maintain renal
perfusion. Once adequate renal perfusion has been accomplished, close monitoring of fluid and
electrolyte balance is of utmost importance.
Avoidance of other nephrotoxic drugs is equally important; therefore, the other 3 answer choices are

Introduction
The fifth edition released by the American Psychiatric Association concerning the Diagnostic and
Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM 5) was announced in May of 2013. This version differs
because DSM 5 combines two disorders that have been previously identified in DSM 4, which are
alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence, into one type of disorder. DSM 5 labels this as alcohol use
disorder, or AUD, which is then further subdivided into three classifications: mild, moderate, and
severe (Alcohol Use Disorder, 2015, p. 1). In this paper, I will discuss the psychological disorder of

evidenced as a result to consumption of alcohol.
I have witnessed the effects of AUD firsthand in the person of Mr. Lee, who is my uncle s neighbor
and who lives in the same block where our family resides. He works at a local canning factory as a
supervisor in the production area for more than three decades, and is generally always seen in the
company of other Asians likewise employed in the said factory. Most probably in his middle forties,
Lee is married and has three children aged 12, 8, and 4, who are all studying at a community school
not far from our places of residence. Lee s wife works as a janitress at a nearby small arcade that sells
imported herbal goods, Asian massage services, an acupuncture clinic, and thrift shop. Generally, it is
easy to perceive Lee as a normal family man belonging to the lower middle class whose only concern
is in providing for the everyday needs of his wife and children, in terms of food, shelter and education.
I can say that I know Lee quite closely because I often see him in the street or in one of his friends
front lawn every time I go visit my uncle, which is only about 20 minute walk from my house. More
so, my perception of Lee is supplemented by the stories my uncle tells me, which despite of somewhat
being amusing for my uncle, is a bit unnerving on my part. In this respect, it had been mentioned in

also known as PCR, is considered an essential tool in molecular biology that allows for the
amplification of nucleic acid sequences. Specifically, the three main consecutively repeating steps in
PCR are denaturation, annealing, and elongation. If the reaction runs with 100% efficiency, there will
be a two fold increase in target amplicons after each cycle of PCR. Therefore, with n cycles of the
reaction, the copy number of the target sequences will be 2n. However, one of the main disadvantages
of conventional PCR, also called end point PCR, is that the results of amplification can only be
visualized after all the cycles of amplification are complete (Nestorov 326). Therefore, in recent years,
modifications of conventional PCR methods have been developed to improve the performance and
specificity of the technique. One such example is RT PCR, which has many advantages over
conventional PCR methods. For instance, RT PCR is a quantitative method for determining gene
expression levels, while endpoint PCR is only semi quantitative. Additionally, through RT PCR, data
can be collected during the exponential phase of the PCR amplification process, in which the PCR
reaction is not limited by enzymatic activity or substrate concentration. Alternatively, in end point
PCR, data is

Comparing Horror In Psycho And Stephen King s The Shining
Alfred Hitchcock s Psycho and Stephen King s The Shining both explore the theme of horror through
the use of the key techniques; characterisation, motifs, symbols and setting. The texts are about
psychologically disturbed protagonists and the events that they are involved in. Psycho was published
in 1960 whereas the Shining was published in 1977, both timeworn novels. In Psycho, Bates is unable
to contain the guilt of murdering is mother and therefore, murders those who he feels sexually
attracted to. However, in The Shining, Jack Torrance, an aspiring writer and recovering alcoholic
accepts a position to be caretaker of the Overlook Hotel with his wife and son Danny. Danny s psychic
powers allow him to see the hotel s horrific past, as the snowstorm leads to the hotel becoming
isolated, supernatural forces influence Jack s sanity and lead his family in great danger. The Shining s
Jack Torrance and Psycho s Norman Bates are psychotic murders who through different circumstances
develop their murderous person. Both characters developed their murderous traits through childhood
memories. Jack developed his through multiple bashings from his father and his alcohol addiction
however, Norman developed his through his mothers teachings and the feeling of neglect. Norman and

Both texts use mirrors to signify characters duplicity, false identities, distorted reality and fractured
personalities. In Psycho, after Marion steals cash, Hitchcock frequently juxtaposes her with her
reflection. In The Shining however, mirrors are often used when portraying Jack s imagination. The
use of mirrors allows the characters to be in a separate world from reality. In The Shining and Psycho,
mirrors are convientally placed in every part where the protragonist acts strange, for example when
Wendy is attempting to run away from Jack in The Shining and the pretext before Norman kills

Financial Accounting for Managers

1 Describe the company that you currently work for, have previously worked for, or would like to
work for in the future. Determine at least two (2) compelling reasons that this company should prepare
and manage a budget. Predict the two (2) most likely positive and negative financial outcomes for this
company if it properly or improperly performs effective budgeting. Biomet 3I is the company I have

Such profits are necessary to provide additional compensation to shareholders/owners while
constituting capital for future growth, repayment of debt, etc. By the way, it s a good idea to create a
personal budget, so the management team will know how much they need each month from the
business in terms of salary and draws, distributions or dividends. Budgeting systems turn managers
perspectives forward and by looking to the future and planning, managers are able to anticipate and
correct potential problems before they arise (Horngren, Foster Datar, 2000). Through budgeting,
management can plan ahead and maintain enough cash to pay creditors, to have adequate raw
materials to meet production requirements, and to have sufficient finished goods to meet expected
sales (Kieso, 2002).
Careful planning is required to guide all parts of the organization towards its strategic long term and
short term objectives. Anthony Govindarajan (2000) saw strategic planning as being focused on
several years, contrasted to budgeting that focuses on a single year and so a budget is a one year slice
of the organization s strategic plan. The budget prepared for planning purposes, as part of the strategic
planning process, is the quantitative plan of management s belief of what the business s costs and
revenues will be over a specific future period (Davies Boczko, 2005). According to Atrill McLaney
(2002), a budget s role is

  • 2. Looking For In A Collage My senior year is quickly approaching and it is time to start looking for collages that I am interested in. The way that I will be most successful in college is to go to a collage that offers a great teaching program, has a soccer team, and has great dorms. Another big thing that I am looking for is going to a collage with an affordable price and closer to home. I want to be able to come home on the weekends to see family and friends. There are a few colleges in mind that I think will allow me to do my very best. Shippensburg, York, and Millersville all have what I am looking for in a collage. The price at Millersville is close to the price of Shippensburg and York College (Graduate Tuition and Fees 2017 2018). Millersvilles price to live on campus would be $24,080 (Quick Links). The price of Millersville is affordable to live on campus and I know that I will enjoy my time there with the dorms that look very nice and comfortable (Housing). The dorm that that would be the comfortable for me would cost $4,856 (Housing). Not only is the collage a great price and the dorms are very nice, but the Millersville soccer team is also what I am looking for (Millersville University Athletics). Millersville soccer team is Division II and they have a pretty goot record (Millersville University Athletics). Their record of 2017 is 6 9 2 (Millersville University Athletics). Haiti Earthquake Summary This case study involves the troubled aftermath of the 2010 Haiti earthquake and the unkept promises made to Haiti by surrounding countries, most notably, the United States. The story focuses on Pierre, the student of a state university in Florida, whose parents migrated to Florida from Haiti in the mid 1970s. The passage begins with Pierre desperately voicing his concerns to his professor for Haiti and the lack of involvement and compassion the outside world has for Haiti during such devastating times. Although the United States is not the only country guilty of unfulfilled promises to Haiti, most Haitians have directed their anger toward the US due of feelings of betrayal (Pg. 115). America has a history of exploiting Haiti for self gain under the disguise of aid , most notably in regard to Haiti s small scale farming. Haitians now rely on imported US rice, a product they once grew for themselves. The US is also responsible for the extermination of Haiti s 1.3 million pigs (Pg. 116). • 7. My Experience In Writing While writing might seem like a simple task, it can be a daunting task for a lot of people. Sometimes it can be hard to express the ideas in your mind in the words of a paper. This results in a disconnect with what a writer may actually think. A great writer is one that can transform his thoughts into words perfectly. This is a craft that takes many years to perfect, which is why writing is troublesome for a lot of us. Many students also have had bad experiences with writing. Maybe they had a teacher that didn t try to support them and their writing. They might not have ever gotten the help they needed and may feel that they are in a hole where their writing can t get better. At this point, they just accept that their writing will never get better. I have felt like this many times in the past, so I can completely understand the way a lot of people feel about writing. I have noticed that it has always taken a great teacher to help me get past these points. Those teachers take the time to empower me and truly help me improve my writing. It takes more than just some markings on a paper for someone to improve their writing. I have noticed that if I am able to have a conversation about my writing with a teacher, they can better understand what I am trying to convey, and therefore can show me a better way to express my ideas through my writing. These connections I have had with some of my teachers have really empowered me and my writing greatly. Writing for me can be frustrating ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Zapata Class Divide The Mexican muralist movement produced artwork on walls that defined the social and political atmosphere of Mexico. Diego Rivera was an innovator in the muralist movement that helped depict the Mexican Revolution for its violence and demand for equality among the lower class (Gonzales 240 45). Rivera s painting, Agrarian Leader Zapata, exemplifies the hardships of the revolution through a group of rebel, lower class farmers led by Emiliano Zapata who is standing over a dead, elite soldier. Agrarian Leader Zapata, utilizes the contrast of the soldiers, the focus on Zapata, and symbolism to convey the idea that the class divide was the root of violence and the outbreak of the Mexican Revolution. Rivera uses aesthetic disparities the farmers and the soldier to illustrate the class divide present in Mexico. Rivera exhibits class divide, notably through the clothing and weaponry of the figures. • 11. Speech On Single Mom Shes a single mom so what? Last week I walked inside a medical office for an interview and listened as a nurse said to a women, Oh so you re a single mom . The way she said it you could tell she wasn t asking she was more like oh so your one of those. I never understand the why people minds go afar when speaking about single mothers. This women goes on to ask did the father just up and leave when he found out she was pregnant. Looking in the face of that single mother face you can tell she was young and also a little uncomfortable. I started thinking there are more than one way she could have be considered a single mother. This women boyfriend/ husband could be deceased, she could have chosen to me a single mother, or she is going through a divorce either way saying she s a single mom is not a bad thing. A few minutes after the women walked away the same who called my name to come in the back. I walked and I listened as she talked about her husband and kids then asked me if I had any. I answered her with a simple yes and wanted to drop it. Instead I was asked about my kid and id I was married while making small talk waiting for two other people. She looks at my ring on my hand and went on to say how she doesn t understand single mothers and why they would want that life for their kids. I then start giving her my two cents in the matter, I told her how more than 57% of families are single mother homes. If this women was like my aunt her husband died in Iraq before her two son s where even born. Out of that 57% of women only 10% get pregnant knowing they will be single mothers. She looked at me like I had said something wrong but to me I was saying everything right. Then I spoke on how that 10% of women have kids because they know they will be great at being a parent with or without a partner. From what I read in my classes most women over the age of 30 get pregnant to be single mothers, there are even support groups to help them. That make this chose and they look at all the options they have. They can t adopt a kids a single woman trying to adopt a kid look s bad on paper. The credit system of the country had ceased to operate, and thousands of firms went into bankruptcy (Born...,.12). Something had to be done that would provide for a flexible amount of currency as well as provide cohesion between banks across the United States. (Hepburn, 399) This knight in shining armor, as described in the story of the bank run, was the Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 helped to establish banks as a united force working for the people instead of independent agencies working against each other. By providing a flexible amount of currency, banks did not have to hoard their money in fear of a bank run. Because of this, there was no competitive edge to see who could keep the most currency on hand and a more expansionary economy was possible. The evolution of the Federal Reserve did not begin on December 23, 1913 with the passage of the Federal Reserve Act. Rather, it began with the Banking Panic of 1907, the most severe of the four national banking panics that had occurred in the precious thirty four years. In response to this panic, a committee was established to find the flaws of the current banking system. This committee, the National Monetary Commission, found there were two main flaws dominating the system. First, the currency was not responsive to changes in demand. (Born...13). This meant that the bank had a fixed amount of currency, regardless of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It s really hard to find the similarities and differences between the two. However, if you look closely and pay attention to the story, you will clearly see them. The Story of an Hour is about a woman who believes that her husband is dead and imagines a brand new freedom for herself. In the beginning of the story, we are introduced to Mrs. Mallard, who has been told that her husband is dead in a train wreck. Mrs. Mallard reacts like any wife would do; she excused herself and locked herself up in her bedroom. However, while thinking about it, she feels happy about her husband s death. The vacant stare and the look of terror that had followed it went from her eyes. They stayed keen and bright. Her pulse beats quickly, and the coursing blood warmed and relaxed every inch of her body. (Chopin 34 38) Mrs. Mallard is now free and she feels a monstrous joy inside her. She welcomes this new freedom, arises, opens the door of her room, and carries herself unwittingly like a goddess of Victory (Chopin 63) As Mrs. Mallard and her sister Josephine walked down the stairs, someone was opening the door. It was Mrs. Mallard s supposedly dead husband, Mr. Brently Mallard. Right at that moment, Mrs. Mallard has had a heart attack, and instantly died. In my opinion, she did not die because of the joy that kills ; she died because her freedom was taken away from her. Consequently, this has led to an era of heropreneurship in which many individuals inspire to become entrepreneurs who claim that they can solve these problems. Due to its heroic and feel good appeal, many individuals work towards creating an attractive social enterprise or demand jobs with a social purpose . Nonetheless, while heropreneurship can be seen as an inspiring and exciting era, there is room for further improvement. First, due to heropreneurship, the line between quick solutions and progress has been blurred. While tackling these problems is considered a noble deed and personally valuable, many individuals are not working towards solving the root of the problems that occur in the affected countries. Rupert Scofield (2011) in his text, The Social Entrepreneurs Handbook explains but to really help them, you have to get to know them, walk in their shoes. You would be surprised at the number of organizations that espouse this or that noble cause in which the personnel seem only dimly acquainted with the facts on the ground (5). It is apparent that many individuals often prioritize short term solutions and disguise it as a long term because they do not fully understand all aspects of the problem. It is important to realize that implementing successful and sustainable solutions involves hard work. The main reason for this is that if you have a readership consisting of a specific class or type of people eg. Middle class business men. Then advertisers who want to appeal to that specific audience will use that paper for their advert and the paper can obtain large profits from adverts and the advertisers can sell lots of products. The Independents headline of Short faces the sack over act of treachery is much less in your face as it is printed in a much smaller print than the Mail s and also it isn t in bold. Unlike the Mail the independent haven t used WOB (white on black) which gives it a lower profile. The use of the word treachery gives it more drama and emphasis. The Portrait Of Elizabeth Farren, The Late Countess Of Derby This formal comparison of two paintings displayed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Elizabeth Farren, the Late Countess of Derby (ca. 1790), by Sir Tomas Lawrence, and Madame Aguste Cuoq (ca. 1852 57), by Gustave Gourbet, brings attention the distinctions and similarities in the approaches each artist took to present these two women s personalities living in the 18th and 19th century. Initially the first thing the viewer notes is that, both paintings are full body length portraits of women, who are focused directly at the viewer. The scale of both women figures, are fairly similar to human size and their position allows the viewer to get a feel of the uniqueness of each woman s personality, fashion and style. The portrait of Elizabeth Farren, The Late Countess of Derby, depicts an older woman of age standing in the middle of a natural outdoor background. Her pose is rather modest, and natural while, her right hand is holding a fur cloak that just covers her bosom area. She is standing slightly leaning towards the front. She appears to be very graceful, and symmetric in dimension. The texture of her hair appears grey and powdered. The expression of her face is calm and innocent, however the eyes give an impression she stands as a strong female figure. Her cheeks have a natural blush tone color to them. • 39. Interstitial Nephritis A child with abrupt onset of acute kidney injury with a fever, rash, and a urinalysis with abnormal urinary sediment should be highly suspected of having acute interstitial nephritis (AIN). In 75% of cases, AIN is a drug induced hypersensitivity reaction. It is characterized by the classic triad of fever, rash, and arthralgia, with acute renal dysfunction resulting from the infiltration and activity of inflammatory cells when the drug/antigen is exposed to the interstitium of the kidney. Medications commonly associated with AIN include nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), antibiotics, diuretics, and proton pump inhibitors. Nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drugs are the most common, the most studied, and possibly the most avoidable drugs that cause AIN induced acute kidney injury. The mainstay of treatment of drug induced AIN is to discontinue treatment with the offending drug as soon as possible and restore and/or maintain intravascular volume with isotonic fluids to maintain renal perfusion. Once adequate renal perfusion has been accomplished, close monitoring of fluid and electrolyte balance is of utmost importance. Avoidance of other nephrotoxic drugs is equally important; therefore, the other 3 answer choices are incorrect. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Reaction Paper Prepared by: Xiaoying Zhang Prepared for: Dr. Chapman Introduction The fifth edition released by the American Psychiatric Association concerning the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM 5) was announced in May of 2013. This version differs because DSM 5 combines two disorders that have been previously identified in DSM 4, which are alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence, into one type of disorder. DSM 5 labels this as alcohol use disorder, or AUD, which is then further subdivided into three classifications: mild, moderate, and severe (Alcohol Use Disorder, 2015, p. 1). This gives credence to AUD as a psychological disorder due to the attitudinal changes that can be evidenced as a result to consumption of alcohol. I have witnessed the effects of AUD firsthand in the person of Mr. Lee, who is my uncle s neighbor and who lives in the same block where our family resides. He works at a local canning factory as a supervisor in the production area for more than three decades, and is generally always seen in the company of other Asians likewise employed in the said factory. Most probably in his middle forties, Lee is married and has three children aged 12, 8, and 4, who are all studying at a community school not far from our places of residence. Lee s wife works as a janitress at a nearby small arcade that sells imported herbal goods, Asian massage services, an acupuncture clinic, and thrift shop. Generally, it is easy to perceive Lee as a normal family man belonging to the lower middle class whose only concern is in providing for the everyday needs of his wife and children, in terms of food, shelter and education. I can say that I know Lee quite closely because I often see him in the street or in one of his friends front lawn every time I go visit my uncle, which is only about 20 minute walk from my house. More so, my perception of Lee is supplemented by the stories my uncle tells me, which despite of somewhat being amusing for my uncle, is a bit unnerving on my part. • 43. Reverse Transcriptase Polmerase Chain, Reaction is an... Reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction, also known as RT PCR, has been recognized as a reliable, accurate, and sensitive method for quantifying gene transcription. Polymerase chain reaction, also known as PCR, is considered an essential tool in molecular biology that allows for the amplification of nucleic acid sequences. Specifically, the three main consecutively repeating steps in PCR are denaturation, annealing, and elongation. If the reaction runs with 100% efficiency, there will be a two fold increase in target amplicons after each cycle of PCR. Therefore, with n cycles of the reaction, the copy number of the target sequences will be 2n. However, one of the main disadvantages of conventional PCR, also called end point PCR, is that the results of amplification can only be visualized after all the cycles of amplification are complete (Nestorov 326). Therefore, in recent years, modifications of conventional PCR methods have been developed to improve the performance and specificity of the technique. One such example is RT PCR, which has many advantages over conventional PCR methods. For instance, RT PCR is a quantitative method for determining gene expression levels, while endpoint PCR is only semi quantitative. Additionally, through RT PCR, data can be collected during the exponential phase of the PCR amplification process, in which the PCR reaction is not limited by enzymatic activity or substrate concentration. Alternatively, in end point PCR, data is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Budgeting systems turn managers perspectives forward and by looking to the future and planning, managers are able to anticipate and correct potential problems before they arise (Horngren, Foster Datar, 2000). Through budgeting, management can plan ahead and maintain enough cash to pay creditors, to have adequate raw materials to meet production requirements, and to have sufficient finished goods to meet expected sales (Kieso, 2002). Careful planning is required to guide all parts of the organization towards its strategic long term and short term objectives. Anthony Govindarajan (2000) saw strategic planning as being focused on several years, contrasted to budgeting that focuses on a single year and so a budget is a one year slice of the organization s strategic plan. The budget prepared for planning purposes, as part of the strategic planning process, is the quantitative plan of management s belief of what the business s costs and revenues will be over a specific future period (Davies Boczko, 2005).
