The reasons for these variations reside in determinants that relate to socio cultural environments,
physical environments, and the economic policies of the regions (Dutton and McLaren 1460).
Healthcare agencies and provincial health authorities are working together to develop awareness
programs about the dangers of increased BMI in an effort to be proactive in the face of the rising tide
of increased BMIs. Health Consequences Social determinants of health impact the health status of
individuals (Mikkonen and Raphael 7). These determinants are related to the conditions that impact
the way in in which individuals live. For example, employment, income that individuals earn, gender,
housing situation, education, job security, employment, health services, Aboriginal status, race and
disability (Mikkonen and Raphael i). These determinants are also regionally specific and account for
the variation in regional differences in obesity rates. As well, obesity is not a blanket term; there are
three classes of obesity in Canada. Individuals with a BMI between 25 30 are considered overweight.
BMIs 30 are divided in the three classes: 30 34.9 is designated as Class I; BMIs between 35 39.9 is
designated as class II; and class III are individuals with BMIs measuring 40 (Brierley 156). These
classes determine treatment options from therapeutic lifestyle changes to treatment methodologies

Kingdom Of God Research Paper
What is the meaning of the term kingdom of God?
The Kingdom of God is one of the key components of the teachings of Jesus in the New Testament.
Drawing on Old Testament teachings, the Christian characterization of the relationship in the middle
of God and humankind innately includes the thought of the Kingship of God. The Old Testament
alludes to God as the Judge of all and the idea that all people will in the long run be judged is a key
component of Christian teachings.
What are the traditional facts about God?
God is regularly considered as the Supreme Being and essential object of faith. He is the maker and
sustainer of the universe, while in deism, He is the inventor, however not the sustainer, of the universe.
Monotheism is the confidence in the presence of one God or in the unity of Him. In polytheism, He is
the universe itself. In godlessness, He is indicated not to exist, while esteemed obscure or mysterious
inside the connection of skepticism. He has additionally been considered as being spiritual, an
individual being, the wellspring of all ethical commitment, and the best possible existent . Numerous
prominent medieval thinkers and cutting edge scholars have created contentions for and against the
presence of God.

God. This is genuine whether Jesus controls in an individual life or over a gathering of individuals.

away undetectable to our regular eyes. Some time or another, God s Kingdom will come in all its
totality, yet it is presently close by for us to enter into by confidence. God composes the laws of His

Beginning from deep within the depths of Nazi held territory to appearing on virtually every

of modern missile technology has changed the face of modern warfare and politics, and coupled with
the advent of the two stage hydrogen bomb, they have now brought humanity the closest to another
World War. Ballistic missile development, proliferation, and usage have had one of the largest and
most profound impacts on modern warfare and international politics. On the cold and misty morning

The Role Of Sex Work And Sex Trafficking
Human trafficking, or trafficking in persons, is a crime where people profit from the exploitation of
others through some form of labor (Polaris, 2015). Sex trafficking, is a crime throughout the world,
and the United States is no exception. Taking a domestic approach to study gender and sex trafficking,
or sex work period in the United States, requires one to know how people do gender while being a part
of this industry. Examining the structure of gender in society with regard to sex work and sex
trafficking sheds light on how the system works and how it is perpetuated.
To understand how gender works in both individual participants and overall structures of sex
trafficking, one must understand gender as both a structure and as an individual identity (Lorber, 1994;
Risman, 1998). So, how do issues of gender inequality tie into trafficking? Women are commonly
trafficked for domestic service and sex industries. Sex trafficking is beneficial because it s very
profitable and is occurring around the globe. The industrialization of the sex trafficking and its
globalization are fundamental factors that make contemporary prostitution qualitatively different from
the prostitution of yesterday. Consumers in the economic North now have access to young and exotic
girls, very young bodies around the world. These beautiful young ladies come from countries like,
Brazil, Cuba, Russia, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Vietnam, Nicaragua. The sex industry is

Hague Rules, Hague-Visby Rules and Hamburg Rules
RULES GOVERNING SHIPMENT BY SEA: HAGUE RULES, HAGUE VISBY RULES AND
HAMBURG RULES The nature of the Hague Visby Rules was discussed by the House of Lords in
The Hollandia [1983] AC 565 (HL). The plaintiffs (shippers) shipped a piece of road finishing
machinery on board a Dutch vessel, The Morviken , belonging to the defendant carriers to Bonaire in
the Dutch West Indies. The bill of lading issued in England limited the carriers liability to Dutch
Florins 1,250 ($250) which was less than the 10,000 Francs per package prescribed under Article IV
rule (5)(a) of the Hague Visby Rules. The 10,000 Francs is an increase from the 100pound fixed under

The thrust of the decision which was supported by the views of academics was that the Hague Visby
Rules could now apply to non negotiable receipts, including charter parties, evidencing the contract of
affreightment, provided that there is an express undertaking that the carriage should be governed by
the Rules. For the Hamburg Rules, it also limited in their application of carriage of goods by sea

lading provided that the goods are carried between ports of different states and not between ports of
the same state. The period during which a carrier remains responsible for the safety of the goods has
been extended by the Hamburg Rules. Article 4(1) of Hamburg Rules provides that the responsibility
of the carrier for the goods covers the period during which the carrier is in charge of the goods at the
port of loading, during the carriage and at the port of discharge. In Article 4(2), the Rules explicitly
state when the carrier is deemed to have taken charge of the goods and when the carrier is deemed to
have relinquished that responsibility. The span in time of the carrier s liability exceeds what had
ordained both under the Hague Rules and the Hague Visby Rules. Under the latter, the carrier s
responsibility begins at loading

Essay on The Three Elements of the Female Athlete Triad
The Three Elements of the Female Athlete Triad
For an increasing number of women in the United States, a concern or preoccupation with body
weight and size is a constant pressure. Female athletes, like most women in our society, are also often
pressured to conform to certain ideal body sizes and shapes, as dictated by the entertainment and
fashion industries. Female athletes, however, face a twofold pressure. They face the burden that our
culture places on all women to be thin, but they also face the burden from coaches, parents, and other
athletes to succeed in sports and look good doing so by maintaining an unrealistically low weight.
When weight gain means removal from a team or elimination from competition, many female athletes

This term refers to a wide range of abnormal behaviors, the extremes of which are anorexia nervosa
and bulimia nervosa, but also includes limiting caloric intake, skipping meals, using diet pills, and
many other pathogenic weight control behaviors. Having stated these limitations, there are a number
of studies which do in fact indicate that female athletes struggle more with eating disorders than
average females. Studies report that the rate of disordered eating among female athletes may be as
high as 62% in certain sports (Yeager, Agostini, Nattiv, and Drinkwater, 1993). While a study of
college female swimmers found 15.4% were affected, a study of college gymnasts showed that 62% of
collegiate female athletes had seriously abnormal eating patterns. Smith (1996) found that disordered
eating is most common among those in appearance sports, such as gymnastics, ballet, figure skating,
equestrian sports, and diving. However, disordered eating behavior can be seen in other sports in
which appearance is not as important, such as tennis, swimming, and running. Skolnick (1993) also
notes that another study of 182 female athletes, who participated in a variety of college sports, found
that 32% showed disordered eating patterns. Margot Putukian, MD (1998) reports in Clinics in Sports
Medicine that a study of college athletes found 32% practiced some form of pathogenic weight control
behavior, and 70% believed their behavior was harmless.

The Importance Of Vietnamese-American Education In The...
Asian Americans may also be discouraged to go into pre collegiate teaching because they feel a sense
of personal inadequacy. In the United States, school is seen as a social service mission, where
teachers, who are primarily female, are tasked to teach students, especially those from working class
and immigrant backgrounds, middle class values. Chinese tradition, in contrast, has different views on
schooling. This tradition brings schooling to the local community with preexisting hierarchies.
Teachers, who are primarily male, maintain this status quo by upholding strict intellectual standards

For Asian Americans who do decide to pursue teaching K 12 as a career, however, these feelings of
personal inadequacy still persist. In Nguyen s (2008) article focusing on five Vietnamese American
preservice teachers, who did some or all of their K 12 education in Vietnam, Nguyen (2008) found
that her participants saw that their distinct cultural and physical characteristics did not fir those of a
traditionally defined American teacher, which caused parents, but not students, to look down on these
teachers (p. 127). Like Gordon (2000), Nguyen (2008) found many of her participants were trying to
live up to the Confucian model of a teacher they were used to having in Vietnam but were struggling
to apply their perception of teaching within a United States context. Asian Americans who would
become teachers, then, seem to struggle with wanting to try to assert themselves as experts in the
classroom while also feeling alienated from the teaching profession because of the typical notions of

Pyramus Thisbe vs. Romeo Juliet
Tragic love stories have always been appealing to the literary world. This would be seen in Ovid s
Pyramus and Thisbe and William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet . Ovid, one of Rome s greatest
poets, was famous for The Metamorphoses. His love stories were deeply emotional, yet very tragic.
The story of Pyramus and Thisbe is the most emotional story in The Metamorphoses and the most
referenced in love tragedy. William Shakespeare s best plays were his tragedies, starting with Hamlet
all the way through to Macbeth. No one knows exactly which source Shakespeare directly drew from
to create the well known tragic romance, Romeo and Juliet , but it s pretty clear that somewhere along
the way there was some major influence from Pyramus and Thisbe. Both stories, although written in
different era share one key theme: love and tragedy. We fall in love and when once we do something
rare and beautiful is created. Unfortunately not all love stories have happy endings. The lesson learned
in both Pyramus and Thisbe and Romeo and Juliet stories will be the focus of this essay.
Pyramus and Thisbe were lovers whose houses side by side to each other. They were considered so
beautiful that If you searched all the East, you d find no girl with greater charm than Thisbe; and no
boy in Babylon was handsomer than Pyramus (Ovid 111). Overtime from living

ABSTRACT: Wireless sensor networks is a self configured network means any node can join it or
leave it at any time. it is a self healing and self organizing. Self healing networks allow nodes to
reconfigure their link associations and find other pathways around powered down nodes or failed
nodes. Self organizing allows a network automatically join new node without the need for manual
interference. In this paper, we are using actor nodes to solve energy hole problem so that we can
reduce energy consumption and can enhance throughput of network.

A wireless ad hoc network is the collection of mobile nodes, without any requirement of centralized
access point. Every node in the network, act as a router and packet forwarder. Now days, the ad hoc

One of the most fluid and insanely unpredictable weeks in recent NHL memory is now over with the

There was a deal reportedly in place that was centered around Hamonic and 28 year old winger James

Absence Of His Father In Booker T Washington
The name Booker T. Washington is often closely associated with prestige and great success as a leader.
However, before he was the man we know of today he came from a life of struggle and constant strife.
Before he became an image of freedom and intelligence he had to endure not only conflicts externally
for the color of his skin, but internally as well as he struggled to live his life accordingly without the
proper guidance of a father. The autobiography Up from Slavery gives us a new perspective as the
narrative tells the story of his life from slavery to becoming one of the founders of Tuskegee Institute.
Yet, a man with his reputation it would be virtually impossible to reach his stature without having
some sort of guidance from mentors. Of course, throughout the narrative Washington acknowledges
many people in his life who he considered to be a father figure , but due to the fact he was the son of a
slave cook and a white man he never knew, there was never a true biological father son relationship in
his life. This begs the question if the lack and absence of his own father shaped his own self
perception, his relationship with others, as well as his leadership style? By analyzing excerpts and
quotes within the literature piece one could conclude that the absence of his father is something
Booker T. Washington has come to terms with thus not placing heavy burden on his life style and
choices.
For example, a specific quote in the text shows how Washington does not put

Essay on Ireland Strikes Back
Ireland Strikes Back
A movement was started in Ireland to regain home rule. This movement was started in 1858 by a
secret revolutionary society known as the Fenian Brotherhood. This group was created to help solve
the crises of the potato famine, the poor government, and the ongoing problems with the church.
Between the years of 1856 and 1870, the Fenians organized an uprising in Ireland with invasions in
British cities and outbreaks in Canada (de Nie). The goal of this society was to achieve independence
from England by using force. This revolution would be successful if certain groups in the society were
strong. The Fenian Brotherhood started a movement that influenced Britain s and the United States

A generation of Catholic men of modest origins in society, succeeded in gathered a conspiracy to
undermine the British rule in Ireland (Garvin 471). Those who rebelled wanted to conserve the social
evils that generated the revolution to survive politically. Living in horrendous stress due to the
economy, the Irish decided to act on their anger. Leaving during the famine 1 million people sought a
new and richer life in the United States. While the economic depression was occurring another 2
million people left to seek this new life. With the mass emigration the culture of Ireland was
deteriorating. James Stephens, the IRB (Irish Republican Brotherhood) leader of the 1860 s thought
the famine also ruined the hope of an Irish political revolution. Patrick Pearse was afraid that if the
nation died the Irish would turn away from their Gaelic traditions (Garvin 474).
Due to the poor law system, the Irish people weren t pleased with their government and also with the
trading system. With the bad economy the Irish thought that if they separated from Great Britain that
they will achieve more as an independent country. The Irish Parliament, through corrupt practices,
kept the British interest to unite Protestants and Catholics against the corrupt legislature. The British
saw the inability of the people of Ireland to govern themselves when the Fenians requested for the
Irish to govern themselves. The British Parliament looked down on the

Federal Preemption Should Be Easily Decided
David Gorhan
MBA 610 Business Law
Final Paper: Federal Preemption
January 25, 2015
Cases about federal preemption should be easily decided. The basis of the concept is written clearly in
the Supremacy Clause of the United States Constitution. Article VI, Paragraph 2 states:
This Constitution, and the laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all
treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme
law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby, anything in the Constitution or
laws of any State to the contrary notwithstanding. (Cornell University Law School, n.d.)
Essentially, the Supremacy Clause states that the laws promulgated by the U.S. government take
priority over any laws that the individual states have enacted. The forefathers of the United States
understood that while some issues should be under the states discretion, others have more of a national
concern. Based on the Supremacy Clause, states are prohibited from passing laws that are inconsistent
with federal law. In turn state constitutions have also inserted Supremacy Clauses in their own
constitutions that prohibit the municipalities from enacting laws that are inconsistent with state laws.
However obvious and simple this concept sounds, the Supreme Court of the U.S. (SCOTUS) has seen
over twelve cases in the last five years concerning federal preemption and the balance between state
and federal power and

The United States of America is one of the biggest automobile markets in the world. This trend has
also created awareness for environmentalist to bring attention to rising level of pollution and emission
within the cities and metropolis. As response, the U.S. Government is encouraging the automobile
manufacturers to produce clean and renewable alternative vehicles that will drastically reduce
pollution and emission. Subsequently, the automobile industry has witnessed a gradual introduction of
environmental friendly vehicles that use clean and renewable energy to encourage less pollution and
safer environment. The manufactures of these vehicles have introduced into the market three
categories of electric passenger car ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

believed that the prices of electric vehicles are relative high and consumers are only willing to pay
lesser than the suggested manufacturer retail selling price which means that Sanger Automotive will
be restricted on its profit margin.  Consumer Response/Knowledge: Majority of potential electric

consumers. The brand does not have the customer loyalty which popular manufacturer of gasoline

The Lackluster Town of Holcomb
Henry David Thoreau once wrote, A man s interest in a single bluebird is worth more than a complete
but dry list of the fauna and flora of a town (Thoreau). Truman Capote, author of In Cold Blood,
disagrees with Thoreau s sentiment and utilizes his description of Holcomb, Kansas to produce an
illustration of a rustic village within the minds of his audience. Capote portrays the town as utterly
average as well as drab and dreary in nature so that he can convince the audience that Holcomb was
nothing more than a haphazard hamlet and to foreshadow the coming drama (para. 2). Through an
ingenious application of vivid imagery, superfluous syntax, fantastic figurative language, as well as a
tone laced with melancholy, the speaker effectively demonstrates that Holcomb is nothing special and
induces a feeling of normalcy and simple serenity within the audience while simultaneously
foreshadowing the future turmoil. In the excerpt from In Cold Blood, Capote couples intriguing
imagery with his gloomy and, at times, dull tone to emphasize the fact that Holcomb, like Maycomb,
the setting of Harper Lee s novel To Kill a Mockingbird, is a desolate place deprived of drama as well
as to foreshadow that change is coming to the tiny town. Capote uses imagery to paint a picture in the
minds of his readers of a ghost town utterly destitute of life and completely isolated in the wilderness
of Arkansas. When the speaker monotonously says, ...irrelevant sign, this one in flaking gold on a

Essay about Yahoo Vs. Lycos
Yahoo! Vs. Lycos
When searching on the Internet, one may find it difficult sometimes to know where to start. With the
seemingly limitless amount of information, one should use the resource suitable for the searcher s
needs and tastes. Comparing different factors like databases, directory types, strengths and weaknesses
of two search engines, such as Yahoo! and Lycos, can provide an advantage to someone looking for a
starting block.
To start with, one of the oldest search engines on the web, Lycos continues to thrive mainly by
providing a mix of features. As the trend with the other major search tools, Lycos consists of a
conglomeration of databases, online services, and other Internet properties.
In terms of general searching, Lycos ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
and selective listings, and the Open Directory Project quickly develops a somewhat comparable data
base that benefits from a marginal amount of quality control.
Basically, the only limitations of Lycos as a truly great search engine include the slow refresh rate of
its database, the lack of direct Boolean searching, and its need to provide relevant results and
eliminate redundant pages.
On the other hand, Yahoo! continues by far as the most popular way to find information on the web of
any of the search engines and directories. With one of the smallest databases, Yahoo! gets more traffic
than Lycos and AltaVista put together.
Yahoo! enjoys success because its quality control is high, providing users with high quality links
without all the redundant listings that plague so many of the search engines, such as Lycos. Yahoo!
constitutes more of a directory, not a search engine, making it possible to look up information within
categories. In many of the search engines, a search responds to the whims of the particular algorithm
used by the engine and depends on how well the pages match the search engines criteria, regardless of
the actual real life relevancy of the page and site content. In contrast, Yahoo! uses people instead of a
computer algorithm to ensure that sites displayed appropriately, only lists valid sites, and generally
only the home page of a site.
While some consider Yahoo! one of the best ways to find information on the net, it does have a

The reasons for these variations reside in determinants that relate to socio cultural environments, physical environments, and the economic policies of the regions (Dutton and McLaren 1460). Healthcare agencies and provincial health authorities are working together to develop awareness programs about the dangers of increased BMI in an effort to be proactive in the face of the rising tide of increased BMIs. Health Consequences Social determinants of health impact the health status of individuals (Mikkonen and Raphael 7). These determinants are related to the conditions that impact the way in in which individuals live. For example, employment, income that individuals earn, gender, housing situation, education, job security, employment, health services, Aboriginal status, race and disability (Mikkonen and Raphael i). These determinants are also regionally specific and account for the variation in regional differences in obesity rates. As well, obesity is not a blanket term; there are three classes of obesity in Canada. Individuals with a BMI between 25 30 are considered overweight. BMIs 30 are divided in the three classes: 30 34.9 is designated as Class I; BMIs between 35 39.9 is designated as class II; and class III are individuals with BMIs measuring 40 (Brierley 156). Drawing on Old Testament teachings, the Christian characterization of the relationship in the middle of God and humankind innately includes the thought of the Kingship of God. Monotheism is the confidence in the presence of one God or in the unity of Him. In polytheism, He is the universe itself. Ballistic Missiles have had a long history dating back to 1939 and the beginning of the V Weapons program, and have been around in one way or another for over 70 years, indeed the advent of modern missile technology has changed the face of modern warfare and politics, and coupled with the advent of the two stage hydrogen bomb, they have now brought humanity the closest to another World War. Ballistic missile development, proliferation, and usage have had one of the largest and most profound impacts on modern warfare and international politics. On the cold and misty morning of October 3rd, 1942 Wernher Von Braun and his team at the remote baltic island of Peenemunde stood around a launch console from their safety bunker looking upon the apex of their years of engineering. The Role Of Sex Work And Sex Trafficking Human trafficking, or trafficking in persons, is a crime where people profit from the exploitation of others through some form of labor (Polaris, 2015). Sex trafficking, is a crime throughout the world, and the United States is no exception. Taking a domestic approach to study gender and sex trafficking, or sex work period in the United States, requires one to know how people do gender while being a part of this industry. Examining the structure of gender in society with regard to sex work and sex trafficking sheds light on how the system works and how it is perpetuated. To understand how gender works in both individual participants and overall structures of sex trafficking, one must understand gender as both a structure and as an individual identity (Lorber, 1994; Risman, 1998). So, how do issues of gender inequality tie into trafficking? Women are commonly trafficked for domestic service and sex industries. Sex trafficking is beneficial because it s very profitable and is occurring around the globe. The industrialization of the sex trafficking and its globalization are fundamental factors that make contemporary prostitution qualitatively different from the prostitution of yesterday. Essay on The Three Elements of the Female Athlete Triad The Three Elements of the Female Athlete Triad For an increasing number of women in the United States, a concern or preoccupation with body weight and size is a constant pressure. Female athletes, like most women in our society, are also often pressured to conform to certain ideal body sizes and shapes, as dictated by the entertainment and fashion industries. Female athletes, however, face a twofold pressure. They face the burden that our culture places on all women to be thin, but they also face the burden from coaches, parents, and other athletes to succeed in sports and look good doing so by maintaining an unrealistically low weight. Having stated these limitations, there are a number of studies which do in fact indicate that female athletes struggle more with eating disorders than average females. Studies report that the rate of disordered eating among female athletes may be as high as 62% in certain sports (Yeager, Agostini, Nattiv, and Drinkwater, 1993). While a study of college female swimmers found 15.4% were affected, a study of college gymnasts showed that 62% of collegiate female athletes had seriously abnormal eating patterns. Smith (1996) found that disordered eating is most common among those in appearance sports, such as gymnastics, ballet, figure skating, equestrian sports, and diving. However, disordered eating behavior can be seen in other sports in which appearance is not as important, such as tennis, swimming, and running. Skolnick (1993) also notes that another study of 182 female athletes, who participated in a variety of college sports, found that 32% showed disordered eating patterns. Romeo And Juliet Kevin Lord Josue Prof. Elizabeth Fogle CAMS 045 Final Paper/Final Draft August 15, 2014 Pyramus Thisbe vs. Romeo Juliet Tragic love stories have always been appealing to the literary world. This would be seen in Ovid s Pyramus and Thisbe and William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet . Ovid, one of Rome s greatest poets, was famous for The Metamorphoses. His love stories were deeply emotional, yet very tragic. The story of Pyramus and Thisbe is the most emotional story in The Metamorphoses and the most referenced in love tragedy. William Shakespeare s best plays were his tragedies, starting with Hamlet all the way through to Macbeth. No one knows exactly which source Shakespeare directly drew from to create the well known tragic romance, Romeo and Juliet , but it s pretty clear that somewhere along the way there was some major influence from Pyramus and Thisbe. Both stories, although written in different era share one key theme: love and tragedy. We fall in love and when once we do something rare and beautiful is created. Unfortunately not all love stories have happy endings. The lesson learned in both Pyramus and Thisbe and Romeo and Juliet stories will be the focus of this essay. Pyramus and Thisbe were lovers whose houses side by side to each other. They were considered so beautiful that If you searched all the East, you d find no girl with greater charm than Thisbe; and no boy in Babylon was handsomer than Pyramus (Ovid 111). Self healing networks allow nodes to reconfigure their link associations and find other pathways around powered down nodes or failed nodes. Self organizing allows a network automatically join new node without the need for manual interference. In this paper, we are using actor nodes to solve energy hole problem so that we can reduce energy consumption and can enhance throughput of network. Prior to that, we had the Vegas Golden Knights expansion draft, awkwardly held in the middle of an awards gala, and some good old fashioned wheeling and dealing. General managers have now returned home to celebrate their victories, or size up their losses, with five days before unrestricted free agency, which begins this Saturday, July 1. For New York Islanders general manager Garth Snow, it was a whirlwind of three transactions that, by most accounts, saw him come out victorious in two with a decision on the third pending. As valued as Hamonic was to New York on the ice and in the locker room, as well as in the community, Snow did right by the player in granting his request while, at the same time, not crippling the organization by making a bad deal. Prior to completing the move of Hamonic to the Flames, there was plenty of interest in the hardnosed, competitive and passionate defenseman. Toronto Maple Leafs manager Lou Lamoriello engaged Snow in discussions that went far beyond setting initial parameters. There was a deal reportedly in place that was centered around Hamonic and 28 year old winger James Van Reimsdyk that multiple sources told SNY fell apart due to the Islanders being on the players 10 team no trade list in addition to concerns over a contract extension, given that Van Reimsdyk will be an unrestricted free agent next July. What Snow chooses to do with the draft picks obtained in the last trade will be crucial to his final grade on the off season. In the movie the Patriot, this movie portrays the fight during the revolutionary war and the battles and the horror they faced. The battlegrounds used in the war were a person s backyard. This new idea of guerilla warfare brought to the war was unconventional and efficient. There were small militias taking out countless redcoats. Although it wasn t the traditional form of fighting it worked. In the movie, the militia was led by Benjamin Martin. General Martin and his militias tactics were honorable. The colonist were English natives so their tactics were the same as the British army. The Continental Regulars would line up like the British and mimic almost everything they would do. The British are more trained and accurate so they would win every battle. The colonists were going to lose the war if it wasn t for Benjamin Martin. • 25. Absence Of His Father In Booker T Washington The name Booker T. Washington is often closely associated with prestige and great success as a leader. However, before he was the man we know of today he came from a life of struggle and constant strife. Before he became an image of freedom and intelligence he had to endure not only conflicts externally for the color of his skin, but internally as well as he struggled to live his life accordingly without the proper guidance of a father. The autobiography Up from Slavery gives us a new perspective as the narrative tells the story of his life from slavery to becoming one of the founders of Tuskegee Institute. Yet, a man with his reputation it would be virtually impossible to reach his stature without having some sort of guidance from mentors. Of course, throughout the narrative Washington acknowledges many people in his life who he considered to be a father figure , but due to the fact he was the son of a slave cook and a white man he never knew, there was never a true biological father son relationship in his life. This begs the question if the lack and absence of his own father shaped his own self perception, his relationship with others, as well as his leadership style? By analyzing excerpts and quotes within the literature piece one could conclude that the absence of his father is something Booker T. Washington has come to terms with thus not placing heavy burden on his life style and choices. For example, a specific quote in the text shows how Washington does not put ... • 29. Federal Preemption Should Be Easily Decided David Gorhan MBA 610 Business Law Final Paper: Federal Preemption January 25, 2015 Cases about federal preemption should be easily decided. The basis of the concept is written clearly in the Supremacy Clause of the United States Constitution. Article VI, Paragraph 2 states: This Constitution, and the laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby, anything in the Constitution or laws of any State to the contrary notwithstanding. (Cornell University Law School, n.d.) Essentially, the Supremacy Clause states that the laws promulgated by the U.S. government take priority over any laws that the individual states have enacted. The forefathers of the United States understood that while some issues should be under the states discretion, others have more of a national concern. Based on the Supremacy Clause, states are prohibited from passing laws that are inconsistent with federal law. In turn state constitutions have also inserted Supremacy Clauses in their own constitutions that prohibit the municipalities from enacting laws that are inconsistent with state laws. However obvious and simple this concept sounds, the Supreme Court of the U.S. (SCOTUS) has seen over twelve cases in the last five years concerning federal preemption and the balance between state and federal power and ... • 32. The Lackluster Town of Holcomb Henry David Thoreau once wrote, A man s interest in a single bluebird is worth more than a complete but dry list of the fauna and flora of a town (Thoreau). Truman Capote, author of In Cold Blood, disagrees with Thoreau s sentiment and utilizes his description of Holcomb, Kansas to produce an illustration of a rustic village within the minds of his audience. Capote portrays the town as utterly average as well as drab and dreary in nature so that he can convince the audience that Holcomb was nothing more than a haphazard hamlet and to foreshadow the coming drama (para. 2). Through an ingenious application of vivid imagery, superfluous syntax, fantastic figurative language, as well as a tone laced with melancholy, the speaker effectively demonstrates that Holcomb is nothing special and induces a feeling of normalcy and simple serenity within the audience while simultaneously foreshadowing the future turmoil. In the excerpt from In Cold Blood, Capote couples intriguing imagery with his gloomy and, at times, dull tone to emphasize the fact that Holcomb, like Maycomb, the setting of Harper Lee s novel To Kill a Mockingbird, is a desolate place deprived of drama as well as to foreshadow that change is coming to the tiny town. Capote uses imagery to paint a picture in the minds of his readers of a ghost town utterly destitute of life and completely isolated in the wilderness of Arkansas. When the speaker monotonously says, ...irrelevant sign, this one in flaking gold on a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Basically, the only limitations of Lycos as a truly great search engine include the slow refresh rate of its database, the lack of direct Boolean searching, and its need to provide relevant results and eliminate redundant pages. On the other hand, Yahoo! continues by far as the most popular way to find information on the web of any of the search engines and directories. With one of the smallest databases, Yahoo! gets more traffic than Lycos and AltaVista put together. Yahoo! enjoys success because its quality control is high, providing users with high quality links without all the redundant listings that plague so many of the search engines, such as Lycos. Yahoo! constitutes more of a directory, not a search engine, making it possible to look up information within categories. In many of the search engines, a search responds to the whims of the particular algorithm used by the engine and depends on how well the pages match the search engines criteria, regardless of the actual real life relevancy of the page and site content. In contrast, Yahoo! uses people instead of a computer algorithm to ensure that sites displayed appropriately, only lists valid sites, and generally only the home page of a site.
