The checks and balance was created as a system of the constitution and is in place so that no part of
the government is too powerful. The judicial system should be able say if a warrant should be allowed

An Outdated Relic From The Victorian Era Of Teaching
Are grades a state of the art method of assessing one s academic aptitude, or rather, are they an
antiquated relic from the Victorian era of teaching? I ask this because as of late, grades have been
under heavy scrutiny for corrupting students with the false pretense that good grades are more
important than actually absorbing the subject material. The argument that students would rather
receive a good grade in a course instead of actually gaining a comprehensive understanding of the
subject shouldn t be news to anyone. This has been the case for a long time, and many people would
fully acknowledge this. Alfie Kohn brings attention to this unfortunate truth in his piece From
Degrading to De Grading, where he exposes many of the existing flaws present in the grading system
today. He first does this by listing the three primary main effects of grading. The first being, that
grades tend to reduce students interest in the learning itself (Kohn). Secondly he reveals his analysis
that grades tend to reduce students preference for challenging tasks (Kohn). And lastly, Kohn
expresses his belief that grades tend to reduce the quality of students thinking (Kohn). To give Kohn

When watching, Alice in Wonderland as a child of course I didn t know what Schizophrenia was,
therefore I didn t recognize or look for this in the character of Alice. After doing research and re
