and visitors alike. As the blooms of spring fade into the warm days of summer, taking a trip on
your bike can be just what you need to warm yourself after a long winter. With almost 400,000

In order to ensure your safety while motorcycling, you should take regular breaks for hydration.
Water and electrolyte rich sports drinks are good choices; alcohol and soda aren t. Minimize
accidents by taking defensive driving courses for motorcyclists or related safety training
programs. These lessons will provide invaluable tips on improving your responses to the potential
dangers on the road. For instance, maintaining an appropriate distance between you and other
vehicles and avoiding the blind spots of other drivers around you. Before you take your
motorcycle on the road this summer, you should have a complete maintenance check performed.
Make sure that your fluids are topped off, including the fuel, and that your tires are safe. Along
with defensive driving techniques and proper planning for the weather, you should be able to
enjoy the roadways of Pennsylvania throughout the summer season. If you are in a collision while
motorcycling in summer, or any time of year, you need to seek professional assistance with your
case. While you can take steps to prevent such occurrences, such as using reflective devices on
yourself and your motorcycle, unfortunate accidents can still occur. However, you can reduce the
chance of that and the risks associated with accidents that do happen by using these

Nissan UK is able to use inflation in the prices of their goods, this is because they are then able to
make sure that they are taking advantage of this type of opportunity their organisation, this is going
to allow their company to make a profit at the time of a recession.
From the economic review for January 2012 has a graph that shows the output of the three major
economic sectors: manufacturing, construction and services. The graph shows the recession in
2008 to 2011 and how it recovers.
The graph shows that the manufacturing was a lot higher more higher in Q1 in 2008 compared
to the start of 2009. This shows that businesses were not manufacturing a lot of products and the
way in which the manufacturing decreased within a year. This also reflects the manufacturing
that Nissan UK did from 2008 to 2009 by making it go low because there wasn t a huge demand
for products. This also shows that the recession had just begun and was getting a lot worse in
2009. This must have had an impact on Nissan by making their employees lose their jobs
because there was less labour activity. In Q3 of 2009, the graph shows that there was progress
being made in the economy by showing recovery. The graph shows this in the way there is a
progress and this would have also impacted on Nissan

Stamp Act Essay
The Stamp Act and the Appropriate Response
The American Revolution was not the consequence of any single event or any single legislation. It
was a result of some combined factors playing against the wellbeing of the colonists and imposed
upon the colonists by the British government. But a series of laws related to taxation which were
passed between 1763 and 1775 can be considered as one of the most important factors which
instigated the American Revolution. It was in respect of responding to such legislations that debate
began on what should be the appropriate nature of such response. For opined that the response to
such impractical and overburdening legislations must be vent through proper ways of discussions
and deliberations while some others ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though the Stamp Act aroused vehement resistance and although most colonists continued to
accept the authority of the British Parliament in respect of regulating their trades, they insisted
that only their representative assemblies could levy direct, internal taxes, such as the one imposed
by the Stamp Act ( STAMP ACT , n.d.). But their plea was actually overlooked by the British
government which argued that all British subjects enjoyed virtual representation in Parliament,
even if they could not vote for members of Parliament ( STAMP ACT , n.d.). Looking at the
failure of the moderates in forcing the British government to reconsider the taxation process, the
radicals started hinting on extreme measures for repealing the Stamp Act. It is to be noted that
These radical voices warned that the tax was part of a gradual plot to deprive the colonists of their
freedoms and to enslave them beneath a tyrannical regime ( STAMP ACT , n.d.). But still there
were opponents to such radicals but such opposition failed to resist the tide of extreme resistances
that would change the face of American politics

Drop Box Homework 2 SaaS (Software as a Service) July 26th, 2015 SaaS (Software as a

capacity to get to software/programming applications over the web. The applications are
facilitated in the cloud and can be utilized for an extensive variety of errands for both people and
companies. Google, Twitter, Facebook and Flickr are all samples of SaaS, with clients ready to

Advantages There are various reasons why SaaS is useful to associations and individual clients
alike. No extra equipment costs; the handling force needed to run the applications is supplied by
the cloud supplier. No starting setup costs; applications are prepared to utilize once the client
subscribes. Pay for what you utilize; if a bit of programming is required for a constrained period
then it is paid for over that period and memberships can as a rule be ended whenever. Utilization
is adaptable; if a client chooses they require more capacity or extra administrations, for instance,
then they can get to these on interest without expecting to put in new programming or
equipment. Redesigns are mechanized; at whatever point there is an upgrade it is accessible
online to existing clients, regularly gratis. No new software will be needed as it regularly is
with different sorts of utilizations and the upgrades will more often than not be sent naturally by
the cloud supplier. Cross gadget similarity; SaaS applications can be gotten to by means of any
web empowered gadget, which makes it perfect for the individuals who utilize various distinctive
gadgets, for example, web empowered telephones and tablets, and the individuals who don t
generally utilize the same PC. Open from any area; instead of being confined to establishments on
individual PCs, an application can be gotten to from anyplace with a web empowered gadget.

The Black Cat Insanity
In the story The Black Cat , by Edgar Allen Poe, there is a fine line between sanity and insanity.
The Black Cat tells the story of him having great admiration for animals, especially his black cat,
Pluto. Poe loved this cat more than any animal and had a friendship with it for several years. He
started getting more irritable day by day, but refrained from harming the cat. One night, Edgar
Allen Poe was drunk, and Pluto bit his hand. Poe then grabbed a knife and gauged the cat s eye
out. Then one morning, Poe hung a noose around Pluto s neck and put him on a tree. After the cat
s death, he started seeing a cat that looked exactly like Pluto, but he was angered by it. The cat was

Racial Disparities Of African Americans
Over the past few decades, there have been a series of African Americans killed by law
enforcement officers. Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown, John Crawford III, Eric Garner and countless
others. The aftermath: the officers who murdered the unarmed men have either been acquitted or
there was no indictment. What happened in Ferguson is years, if not decades in the making.
African Americans are simply tired of having to bury friends and family and discovering the
officers, meant to protect the law and serve the people, are killing black lives and are almost
always found not guilty.
The racial disparities against African Americans lies is shameful, but not surprising. Racematters in
the United States. People of color do not receive the same benefits and equality as white people;
whether it be in education, the workplace and in the judicial system. The purpose of this paper is
to analyze the racial disparities to African Americans in what subsequently led to the Black lives
Matter movement. I have chosen a series of photos that capture historical events of protests and
movements including an analysis of one of my images.
Racial disparities and inequality dates all the way back to slavery: when whites abused, raped,
tortured and killed black people. Slavery transformed America into an economic power; the
exploitation of black people made the south the richest and most politically powerful region in the
country (ABS). Black people did not have any rights, instead they were forced

From experience, at the age of ten I was taught by my mother that I should never engage in sex
unless I was married and ready to procreate. At the age of twelve I was sexually active. By the
age of fifteen I was pregnant with my first son and becoming a single mother at a very early age.
When you are young and curious and want to know why something is a certain way, you look
for answers and research as much as you can to get a full idea about what something is. So when
children are taught that sex is bad without given any background information to why or what it
is, they tend to look deeper and start to engage in the activities to test the water and see if what
they are taught is true. Rebellion is a very common among children and teenagers, and to be
forced into believing that something is bad and harmful for you, just to find out the truth about
sex, will eventually cause a stir and up rise of many young adults. More teens are learning sex
from the media or from their friends instead of from their parents or a sexual education class
taught in schools. Nearly three fourths of television shows contains talk about sex or show sexual
behavior, (King and Regan 2). When we drive down the road we see several stores promoting sex

The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective Teens By Sean Covey
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey is a modified version of his father s
book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Unlike Stephen Covey, who wrote his book with
the audience of adults in mind, his son s book is targeted towards teens. Covey avoids the
academic writing style that one will find in Stephen s and delivers the seven habits model in an
easy to read, humorous style that does not lose any of the impact of the seven habits (Change
Management Coach). Being both entertaining and visually appealing, Covey goes deep into the
seven habits while adding life experiences of both him and family. Included are also the stories of
teens around the country. Each habit builds upon the next; therefore you cannot have habit two and
three without habit one. Although together, the habits makeup an effective teen, separately, they
each help in different ways, mentally and socially. In the following sentences, the habits are told in
order. Habit one stands for proactivity, taking responsibility for your actions and life. The second
habit, beginning with the end in mind, means that throughout life, people should know what they
want and have a plan, whether or not it is something small or a bigger goal. Habit three is all about
prioritizing and putting the important things first so that they do not become so urgent in the
future. The first three habits are all about oneself and one s self victory . Before winning in the
public arenas of life, one must first

Warren Wilson. How did I end up here? I could, be anywhere else. However, Appalachia
undoubtedly has to be the perfect place to foster my curiosity of the mountains. Throughout my life
I have been interested in protecting the environment, many different avenues of art expression, and
the cultural roots of mountain people. Now, all of those subjects are covered in The Encyclopedia
of Appalachia, but I can go further to tie all of those subjects into the main topic of agriculture,
specifically sustainable agriculture, which I just so happen to be majoring in (convenient, huh?).

Vast mountain ranges and rocky cliffs come to mind. Those are both some obvious factors as to
why agricultural practices may be hard in the region, but other than physical boundaries, what
are the difficulties of growing in this mountainous region? I will surely need to know these if I
plan to make a living off of growing in the mountains. My fascination for how native tribes work
with the land raised the question of what crops were originally grown/are native, in Appalachia
prior to the European invasion bringing about other crops. Were these new crops brought in
essential for a growing population or were they destructive to the soil, being invasive plants?
Tying into the idea of native crops, I would love to look more into the herbs found within the
forests of Appalachia. Wanting to be a doula and homesteader, I have found interest in researching
the benefits of medicinal herbs on the pains of childbirth. Finding those herbs right here in
Appalachia would be ideal. The encyclopedia had a section entirely on mushrooms. I did not dive
into what it said because at this point I am just seeking questions. I am wondering, however, why
do mushrooms grow well here? Is it simply because of the thick canopy of the forest providing
ample shade or do these mountains contain particular nutrients necessary for mushroom growth?
My father has always shown an interest in growing shiitake mushrooms. I have never spoken to
him about what sparked his interest, but living in the Cherokee National Forest, which is

Types of Bleeding Disorders, Nation Hemophilia Foundation for All Bleeding Disorders). Type A
is much more common than type B. Hemophilia is caused by a defect in one of the genes that
determines how the body makes blood clot. The two blood clotting factors that are affected is
factor VIII and IX. Each of these blood clotting factors are located on an X chromosome, which
means hemophilia is passed on by the mother. A male who has hemophilia on his X chromosome

rarely is a girl diagnosed with hemophilia. There are some cases in which a boy is born with
hemophilia even though his mother was not a carrier. These cases are due to a mutation in the
gene during development. Some of the signs that your child has developed hemophilia is bleeding

from a small cut, and bleeding that begins again even after stopping previously. Internal bleeding

The Second Tier Of The American Federal Court System
The first tier of the American federal court system is the U.S. District Court. The U.S. District
Court acts as a trial court, norm enforcement, and makes policies. Everyone is entitled to a trial
via the Sixth and Seventh Amendment for criminal and civil cases. Therefore, the U.S. District
Court sees numerous cases. This court hears criminal and civil cases per the trial courts where
attorneys are able to examine and cross examine witness before a jury of their peers. All federal
cases go before the U.S. District Courts including criminal cases, civil cases, bankruptcy cases,

Kennedy Flexible Response Essay
The most successful foreign policy was Flexible Response because it allowed for President John F.
Kennedy to deal with foreign issues with both military and nonmilitary options. Kennedy took the
position after Dwight D. Eisenhower with a narrow victory over Richard Nixon. Though the Soviet
Union was causing trouble at the time, Kennedy focused on Cuba. The foreign policy of Flexible
Response played a large role in dealing with the Soviet Unionand Cuba. Cuba had a rising
communist leader named Fidel Castro but as soon as Cuba became friends with the Soviet Union,
President Eisenhower broke ties with the country. To eliminate the threat of the rising leader,
President Eisenhower devised a plan. This event would later be called the Bay of Pigs... Show more

That s why Flexible Response worked because of the different alternatives the government had to
handle the situation. During the Cuban dilemma, the Soviet Union was planning to send nuclear
missiles to Cuba and from there, only ninety miles away, they would be aimed at the United States.
To prevent this Kennedy sent a blockade of ships to stop the missiles from entering Cuba. The
situation became known as the Cuban Missile Crisis and this impacted the people of the United
States. From home, they waited for six long days as the Soviets approached Cuba and the
blockade. The people lived as though this would be their last day because if anyone were to fire,
World War III would have broken out. This was similar to Brinkmanship because the country was
approaching the verge of war but again this was a military option President Kennedy used to stop
the missiles from reaching Cuba. Had Kennedy not send his blockade, the world would have been
on the verge of nuclear warfare. This blockade made Nikita Khrushchev, current leader of the

three new ERP systems to send request for proposals (RFP) for. These new ERP systems are
based on modern technology, are GUI based, and have mouse support. There are additional
functionalities and integrations with these new platforms that the IT team feels the business

this would be a great time to start the virtualization project and we can use the new ERP system

associated costs. Next we have to work out if the training for this new software fits into the budget
in addition to the hardware.

Abbey Road Research Papers
Abbey Road is an iconic photograph taken by Iian Macmillan in the sixties. Iian stood on a
ladder in the middle of the road in order to capture the shot of the beatles, an originally british
band that came to the states, walking across the street in perfect sync. The photo itself lives on to
this day throughout Rock and Roll culture. The picture highlights the four members of the band
walking across a street in perfect sync. The sky is painted a simple sky blue and the trees are a deep
emerald green. Behind the Beatlesis a road dotted with man older styled cars, some parked and in

Everything from the blue sky above them to the gently used road underneath them portrays
simplicity. The boys, all dressed in different colors, gives a feeling of individuality and

group. That fueled a conspiracy theory involving Paul. Details in Abbey Road such as the bare
feet, the cigarette and John Lennon s white suit led fans to believe Paul McCartney was dead
and had been replaced by an imposter (B. Myint). This also boosted the popularity of the image
itself and overall, the album. Paul is also the only member leading with his right which shows his

Rock and Roll culture for their expression of individuality, simplicity, and being originality. Abbey

popularity to skyrocket. People enjoyed their music as well as the people behind all the albums and

Organic Farming Vs Organic Food
Organic farming is the production of food without the use of synthetic chemicals or genetically
modified components (Better Health, 2017). Consumers and health experts have long debated
whether organic foods are more nutritious and safer than conventional food (Harvard Health, 2012).
There is contradicting evidence surrounding the issue, and many choose to eat organic foods as
they believe they have higher nutritional outcomes and less chemical residues than conventional
foods. Others believe that conventional foods are no worse for health than their organic counterparts.
Background
Organic food producers and farmers grow and produce their food without synthetic chemicals like
pesticides and fertilisers and do not use genetically modified (GM) components. Naturally occurring
pesticides such as pyrethrins, light oils, copper and sulphur are permitted in organic farming
(Better Health, 2017). Organic produce available in Australia include fruit and vegetables, dried
legumes, grains, meat and meat products, dairy foods, eggs, honey and some processed foods
(Better Health, 2017). The term organic is not currently regulated under Australian law, which
means that companies and businesses are not required to follow specific regulations or a Standard
in order to claim organic on their products (Australian Organic, 2017).
Discussion
There is sufficient evidence that organic foods have higher nutritional outcomes than conventional
foods. According to a 2014 study led by Prof.

role of father and son has been reversed in this story. Not only does their relationship contain
holes, the son seems to be the more mature one of the two. The values of being part of a family
has sabotaged the Father s marriage with his son s mother. He is an a man who has a constant

World War 1 Turning Point Essay
World War 1 or the Great War was a turning point for war in itself and for the people s view of it.
Before war was something to be celebrated but the creation of machine guns, gasses, and other
horrible creations of the 1910s made war something to be feared by everyone. The assassination of
Austrian Prince Archduke Ferdinand by a Serbian Nationalist Gavrilo Princip stirred up tensions
leading to World War 1 starting in mid August 1914, which put the Allied powers ( Great Britain,
France, Russia, Italy Japan, and in 1917 the United States) against the Central powers ( Germany,
Austria Hungary, and the Ottoman Empire). World War 1 lasted 4 years and brought more casualties

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Distributed Database Systems
This paper discussed the Distributed database systems which are systems that have their data
distributed and replicated over several locations; unlike the centralized data base system, where one
copy of the data is stored in one location. the Distributed database system has many advantages:
1.Availability of the data in case of failure.
2.Parallelism: queries may be processed by several nodes in parallel.
3.Reduced data transfer.
It also has some disadvantages:
1.A distributed system usually exhibits more complexity and cost more than a centralized one.
2.Handling security across several locations is more complicated.
Types of DDBMS:
1 Homogeneous DDBMS
a.All sites use same DBMS product (eg. Oracle)
b.Fairly easy to design and manage. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Communication Failures: failures in the communication system between two or more sites.
The 2 phase commit (2PC) protocol:
The major issue in building a distributed database system is the transactions atomicity. When a
transaction runs across into two sites, it may happen that one site may commit and other one may
fail due to an inconsistent state of transaction. Two phase commit protocol is widely used to solve
this.
The 2 phase commit (2PC) protocol is a distributed algorithm to ensure the consistent termination of
a transaction in a distributed environment.
This protocol has two phases, the prepare and the commit phase. The protocol is executed by a
coordinator process, while the participating servers are called participants. When the transaction s
initiator issues a request to commit the transaction, the coordinator starts the first phase.
The coordinator initiates the first phase of the protocol by sending PREPARE messages in
parallel to all the participants. Each participant that is ready to commit first force writes a
prepare log record to its local stable storage and then sends a YES vote to the coordinator. On the
other hand, each participant that decides to abort force writes an abort log record and sends a NO
vote to the

An Introduction Of Cave Paintings In Cosquer Cave
Introduction
Do you know anything about cave paintings? Well I am here to inform you about them. For
example, the majestic paintings of bison in Cosquer Cave. In Altamira more beautiful animals of
the Ice Age. In Lascaux too were majestic animals like horse, deer, bison, etc. These facts are truly
amazing. These caves are jewels of mother nature. Also, about Carbon 14 Dating and how it works
with its formulas.
Cosquer Cave
In 1985 a professional Scuba diver named Henri Cosquer discovered the cave. Cosquer Cave is
located in Ardeche department, on the Mediterranean coast close to the Rhode river. The cave was
discovered by accident when Henri was diving and found an opening.
He kept a secret for many years and went to check it himself from time to time. He trusted
archaeologist Jean Clotte who was also a speleologist. Jean Clotte was a speleologist and
archaeologist he is very important in the government of France. He called Jean Courtin who was a
archaeologist and a professional diver he was also very important. They didn t make the discovery
public because the public could harm the paintings.
They kept it a secret for 6 years. Later the French government found out about it and told the public.
The paintings are of 10,000 years of difference. The animal paintings are +18,000 years old and
the hand paintings are 28,000 years old. There is a huge difference of time because the theory is
that the cave was lost however, then it was rediscovered. The cave was

Benefits Of Minimum Wage
Minimum wage is a struggle for many Americans and I believe it needs to be raised. The
minimum wage of the United States is $7.25 an hour. It is a rate that isn t letting many Americans
live life comfortably. If the minimum wage was changed even a merely $3.75 it would change
people s lives and will let many people get by. The minimum wageof $7.25 has stayed the same
since 2009 and there hasn t been any effort by the government to change it. Many states have
increased their minimum wage, but I hope that the minimum wage rises nationwide and not
individually as states. One of the many groups of people that struggle on minimum wage are
college students. Many people avoid going to college because their minimum wage job will not

Another reason why the minimum wage needs to be increased because of single parents or even
families in general. Many single parents or families rely on the minimum wage to live day by
day. Although some may say that living alone with a child doesn t cost much, but I disagree.
Having a child cost a lot of money. These parents often do not raise their children because they
must dedicate their life to working most of the hours of the week and must leave their children in
a daycare or in the home of a close family relative. In between buying necessities for the child and
having to raise them, they have to work long hours of the week because the minimum wage is too
low to allow them to take a break. This is something that effects millions of families in the United
States. Gould, senior economist at EPI tells NBC News, Even in Tennessee, a state with some of
the most affordable cities in the country, minimum wage workers cannot cover the cost of basic
necessities such as housing, food and other expenses. Families should also have the opportunity to
thrive off the minimum wage. Furthermore people cannot pay the bills and take care of themselves
on minimum wage. Minimum wage often cannot pay adult bills. Although in the past the
minimum wage was way below what is it today, consumer prices have increased a total of 482%.

In the publication they will state an overview of the issue, how to address the issue, view of the
IASB and an invitation for comment (International Accounting Standards Board, n.d.).
The fourth step is the publication of an exposure draft. This step is mandatory in the due process.
The IASB will consider the issues based on staff research and recommendations, comments receive
on any discussion paper and suggestions made by the SAC, working groups and accounting
standard setters. Once the issues are resolved there is a draft made up. Then the draft is voted on;
once voted on this draft will be published for public comment (International Accounting Standard
Board, n.d.)
Step five, is developing and publishing the standard. After all comments are received on the draft,
the IASB will consider revising or not. When considering revising the IASB will check for
substantial issues that emerge during the comment period on the exposure draft that it had not
previously considered. They assess the evidence that has considered. They evaluate if they have
fully understood the issues and have made sure the people views are on the same issues. The IASB
considers the different view points in the draft and to make sure they have been reviewed in the
correct context for its conclusions (International Accounting Standards Board, n.d.)
The last step in developing standard is after the standard is issued. Once issued, there will be

Reflection Of Falsettos
Falsettos, a musical written by William Finn in the 1980 s, is the story an unorthodox and highly
dysfunctional Jewish family living in New York at the end of the 1970 s. At the center of the
show is a confused middle aged man named Marvin, who introduced us to his ex wife Trina and
current lover Whizzer along with his precocious 10 year old sonJason. Throughout the course of the
show many different issues plague the familylike the new family format, gay rights and the AIDS
crisis that when the show debut in 1992 were considered controversial. When the show as revived
in 2016, it examined these issues in a different light and brought forth a new way of understanding.
Falsettos originally began as two different musicals, March of the Falsettos and Falsettoland
until the original Broadway run when they were combined and each musical was turned into its
own act. The story explains the lives of Marvin, his son Jason, the psychiatrist Mendel, Marvin s
ex wife Trina and his boyfriend Whizzer. The two opening numbers Four Jews in a Room
Bitching and A Tight Knit Family give the audience an introduction into the lives of the
characters and some of the issues that are going to be dealt with throughout the course of the
show. Marvin has recently left his wife Trina to be with his lover Whizzer which has greatly

A Closer Look At The Regulatory Structure
A Closer Look at the Regulatory Structure in Australia:
Understanding APRA, ASIC and RBA
Doria Teo
Introduction
The current regulatory framework for the Australian finance sector largely owes its conception to
the Financial System Inquiry ( the Wallis Inquiry ). The Wallis Inquiry had recommended the
establishment of the twin peaks model, under which three specialist financial sector regulatory
agencies operate. It was also recommended that these three regulatory agencies be based on the
functions they performed rather than their traditional status. The government eventually adopted
these recommendations and the three key regulators known today are the Australian Prudential
Regulation Authority ( APRA ), the Australian Securities and... Show more content on

As highlighted in the Wallis Inquiry, the proposed structure could better facilitate a more flexible
response in the face of market developments and changing circumstances. Furthermore, overlaps,
duplication and inconsistencies could be minimised.
The Wallis Inquiry also pointed out the difficulties with having a single regulator, particularly the
difficulty of requiring a single agency to adopt different regulatory styles. For example, under the
old institutional based regulatory structure, a single regulator was required to both prudential
regulation and consumer protection regulation. These were very different types of regulation.
Following the Wallis Inquiry, it was recommended that prudential regulation would be under the
purview of APRA while consumer protection regulation be the responsibility of ASIC.
Another difficulty was that a single regulator could only provide a very limited perspective on
certain regulatory issues. As raised by the Wallis Inquiry, the argument against assigning prudential
regulatory responsibility to the RBA was that there are non bank areas of prudential regulation
involved. Assigning prudential regulatory responsibility to the RBA would thus run the risk that it
would approach regulation from a limited banking perspective.
Additionally, a single regulator could have conflicting responsibilities. The Wallis Inquiry

The Day Of Deliverance, By John Adams
As we Americans approach this forthcoming Independence Day, I think of our country and how
privileged we are to have the rights we do today. Although laws and other things of that sort have
been passed for years, we continue to acquire more liberation to this day. Two hundred and thirty
nine years ago, on July 4th of 1776, it was a day of commemoration concerning the Declaration of
Independence as our nation was finally free at last from Great Britain s government. On a day near
the beginning of July, John Adamswrote the following passage to his wife, Abigail: The second
day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to
believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It
ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty.
It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires,
and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.

Evolving Federalism Essay
Evolving Federalism
Pre Class Assignment
Federalism by definition is the division of power between a central government and its
participating members. How that power is divided is the subjective aspect of federalism that was
before the framers of the United States. Through compromise and necessity the seeds for a strong
central government were planted alongside already strong state governments. Over time the seeds
for strong central government grew; wars, economic fluctuations and national growth established a
strong central government. As America s idea of federalism changed the central government grew
more powerful, the state s government gave more power away, and local governments were
established. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Schreiber s fifth and final stage is the post World War II era. Here, creative federalism is born.
Creative federalism points to a strong centralized government that initiates federal programs to fight
poverty, hunger, crime, and other social issues. This stage sees a noticeable increase of power given
to the national government by the Warren Court.
Schreiber concludes by describing a struggle between cooperative federalism and creative
federalism. He sees these two models of federalism in competition with one another on how power
will be distributed between the three levels of government. This is best described by Russell
Hanson, in Governing Partners, as competitive federalism , which is the idea that the three levels of
government must compete for power in a zero sum game.
It can be argued that we now are in a sixth stage that can be defined as competitive federalism.
Recent struggles involving gay marriage, education, tax reform, and anti terrorism funding prove
that a struggle for power between the three levels of government is ongoing.
The issue of education best exemplifies the changing nature of intergovernmental relations. State
and local governments run their own school systems, and for the most part, fund them as well.

Muchos Somoss By Pablo Neruda Literary Devices
Muchos Somos After reading the poem Muchos Somos By Pablo Neruda in his poem he is
describing himself confuse and conflict of self by revealing different concepts of identity and
his trouble dealing with many personalities. The metaphor is found in the last line of the poem
when he says, I shall speak not of self, but of geography. (Neruda, Line 45) I believe he is
comparing his character to a world of unknown lands like a town placed in a valley or a river.
Without an understanding of Neruda s mind it seems he feels lost and powerless, and this metaphor
helps the reader to express those feelings. Another example of metaphor that also highlights the
feelings of Neruda is at the beginning of the poem, They disappear among my clothes,

Similarities Between Northern Territory And Australia s...
There are little to no similarities between the Northern Territory and Australia economies, both of
which include little connectable data. The GDP growth rate for the Northern Territory shares a
similar percentage as its primary sector percentage, both being about 10%. Both primary sector
percentages for Australia and the Northern Territory are close in percentage, with less than 5%
percent between them. This is due to australia including sections from other states as well as the
Northern Territory. Various differences between the given data for Northern Territories economy
and Australia s economy can be noted. Majority of the statistics for the Northern Territory dwindle
at a low number, this is because the Northern Territory is smaller... Show more content on

Small businesses are generally started by an entrepreneur portraying their idea to the public and
selling for a profit, beginning with a micro business, sole proprieter or a partnership. This will
eventually evolve into a small business if they hire more employees. As more employees are
hired, this adds to their quality of life through giving a sense of self worth to those employed.
Innovation is important to small businesses, as it opens doors into oppertunities for future
endeavours. Innovation will allow a business to predict possible future needs and to fulfull these
before other competitve businesses do. Small business in a local economy provides innovation
and growth to its location, they also provide work to many people due to the large amount of
existing small businesses. Customer loyalty works out in favour of small businesses, as most of
them are orginal products or services and you wouldn t find them elsewhere unless the company
expands. The social value of the Northern Territory is essential, as this allows more people to get
jobs and build small businesses up. As these businesses grow, the tax from these will go back into

The Dark Net With Tor
This paper will be looking at The Dark Net. Some people associate the Dark Net with TOR. It has
become a topic that has been getting more interest from people and many still do not know about
it. The Dark Net is a type of internet that is separate to the internet that we all use. It will discuss
issues with anonymity, confidentiality, illegal activity of Tor
and its concentration on provision of
technically anonymous services as well as where it is going in the future
Introduction
Darknet systems also known as privacy network called I2P (the Invisible Internet Project) has been

Tor website addresses do not look like ordinary URLs that we see on websites that we use every
day. They use a random looking strings of characters followed by names that use the .onion
extension. An example of a website address that is hidden: http://dppmfxaacucguzpc.onion/. This
web address allows users that use Tor to find directories, wikis and free for all link dumps. These
will help anyone find anything that they might be looking for while browsing the Darknet.
Tor allows both the server and client to remain anonymous. It also guarantees that what happens
between these two parties stays with these two parties. The information is protected from third
parties as the data is encrypted. This is possible because the nodes that are in between the server
and the client have no idea who is talking to whom and what is being exchanged between them.
Tor is very effective when it comes to privacy because it is designed and maintained to provide
the highest level of security and anonymity. It even poses some problems for the FBI as the
Bureau claims that there is not currently a way to trace the origin of the website. As such no
other investigative leads exist. This was when they were trying to find out about who the owner
was of a child pornography site. It is also important to know that people the dark net are
completely safe. Some vigilante hackers that were anonymous exposed an IP addresses that was
used to the dark net child porn site therefore allowing

Outline Of The DSCA Command Relationships During Hurricane...
DSCA Command Relationships during Katrina
SFC Marson, Kellen
Master Leader Course
Class 18 001
Introduction
On August 29th, 2005, Hurrican Katrina, a Category 4 hurricane, made landfall. Katrina left severe
destruction along the Golf Coast and evenutally breached the New Orleans levee system putting the
city under water. The death toll was estimated at 1,245 people and an estimated $105 billion dollars
in damage occured (Knabb 2011). During Katrina, command relationships failed because of
political differences between President Bush and Louisiana Governor, Kathleen Blanco as to who
should command the National Guard, delays at the National Guard Bureau (NGB) in deploying
troops and equipment, and failing to create a unity of effort between National Guard and Active
Duty forces.
National Guard
The aftermath of Hurricane Katrina left tens of thousands of people in New Orleans without
adequate water, food, shelter, and physical security. Law enforcement was in disarray as 200 New
Orleans Police officers left their post. The Louisiana National Guard was short on personnel and
much of their equipment was unserviceable due to flooding. Thousands of people needed help and
critical distribution of resources from Defense Support of Civilian Authorities (DSCA) failed.
As New Orleans spiraled out of control, looting and crime were becoming a serious problem. The
Louisiana National Guard focused on rescue missions, rather than keeping Law Order. The public
began to blame President Bush and Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco for their poor response to
the recovery efforts.
In a meeting on Airforce One, President Bush tried to convince Governor Blanco to federalize the
National Guard in order to have all forces under one central command. Governor Blanco refused
this offer, believing that Bush s attempt to federalize the Louisiana National Guard was just attempt
to blame her for post Katrina problems (Farazmand, 2014).
While President Bush and Governor Blanco argued over politics, valuable time was being wasted
and innocent people in New Orleans continued to suffer and parish at the hands of it s own federal
and state governments. Across the country, National Guard Soldiers from various

Analysis Of Life Threatening Incidents From Anderson Cooper
Experiencing life threatening situations with somebody else can lead to a friendship that lasts
a lifetime. In an interview from Anderson Cooper, Marcus Luttrell and Mohammad Gulab share
the story of how they became friends. Marcus Luttrell was nearly dead, after 3 of his friends
were killed and he was badly injured on the side of a creek. Mohammad Gulab saw him and
decided to help. Mohammad Gulab took Marcus back to his village where he cared for Marcus for
many days until he was rescued. This act brought these two people closer than you can imagine.
Marcus states that In the 5 days that we were together it shot us 20 to 30 years into the future after
everything that we had been through together ( Marcus Luttrell and Mohammad Gulab (the real

Pi Sigma Research Paper
Phi sigma sigma began when their founders went to the Dean of Women at Hunter College in
New York City with a plan. They wanted to begin a sorority that would be open to all women. On
November 26, 1913 Phi Sigma Sigma started. It was the first nonsectarian sorority, began under Fay
Chertkoff. Their Alpha Chapter was at Hunter College.
In 1913, in New York City, Phi Sigma Sigma was incorporated. Originally under Phi Sigma Omega,
their founders learned that another society were already using the name, so they chose the letters
they still use today. Their symbol is the sphinx, Shirley Cohen decided on this symbol because of
the mythological importance to women, and because it represented mystery and secrecy.

In this convention all three chapters; Alpha, Beta, and Gamma met and established a constitution.
They also elected their first council, and elected their first grand archon. The council served for two
years until 1920.
Phi Mu began in 1852 at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. Their founders were Mary A.
Lines, Mary E. Daniels, and Martha B. Redding. It was at first called the Philomathean society. It
was a literary society and is the second oldest secret society of woman. In 1904 it became known as
Phi Mu.
Phi Mu joined the NPC or National Panhellenic Conference in 1905, taking the letters Phi Mu. Beta
chapter was soon established in Hollins College in Hollins, Virginia. Alpha Delta Theta from
Transylvania University merged with Phi Mu in 1939.
Their colors are Rose and White. This choice was made when it was still known as the
Philomathean Society and was most likely made by the charter members. Their coat of arms was
designed in 1904 by Annie L. Mallory, assisted by Louise Monning.
Their flower is the pink carnation. The pink carnation in the language of flowers refers to women s
love and sisterhood, Lillian Estes, Grand Historian 1907 1908, wrote that pink carnations are, and

Ethical Dilemmas Of Attorney Client Privilege
Merriam Webster dictionary defines an ethical dilemma as a problem where a person has to choose
between a moral and an immoral act. Attorneys come into contact daily which involves the attorney
client relationships. The attorney client privilege is a legal privilege that works to keep
communications between a lawyer and his/her client secret (silence is golden). The privilege is a
legal doctrine that protects confidential information, the contents and actions related to the
privileged communication must preserve the integrity of the attorney client privilege. This paper
presents the ethical dilemmas of the attorney client privileges, trust and the importance of adequate
closure in attorney client relationships. Ethical Dilemmas Between Attorney Client Attorneys are to
represent their clients as members of a legal profession. As long as there has been an attorney client
case, there has been disputes regarding the attorney s loyalty to their clients. Ethically, the adverse
action implicates important professional values which include the obligations of legal professionals
to provide services to those that need them, to become fully informed regarding legal matters to
ensure competence, and to hold confidential clients communication. The attorney should always be
truthful as well as trustworthy. According to Banks, trust is an aspect of professionalism, and the
encouragement of trust has become a fundamental characteristic in a professional relationship

Essay on A Mexican Farmer Worker in USA
A Mexican Farmer Worker in USA
The first immigrant I interviewed will be referred to as Jess . Jess is from Guanajuato which is in
southern Mexico. Jess, his five brothers and sisters, and his parents were farmers. They grew corn
as their main crop. Jess s family lived in a three bedroom brick house in Mexico. Their house
surprisingly had water and electricity. He only made 100 pesos a day ($10.00 U.S.). According
to Jess, this was not enough money to get by on his own. He said that the average person in
Mexico needs at least 150 pesos per day to live on their own and someone raising a family needs
much more than this. This is why in 1985, at the age of 18, he came to Arizona to find a better job
and to help his family. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jess did not want to go to Tucson because he thought there would not be enough job openings
there. He also stated that Phoenix was the only city he had been to in the U.S. and that he wasn t
sure about moving anywhere else. He stayed in Phoenix and found a job at a golf course. He has
worked at the golf course for 17 years now. He started out as a grounds keeper making minimum
wage and now he makes $31,000 per year as an assistant superintendent. According to
Transnational Villagers, the median income (total household income) for Non Dominican
Hispanics in 1999 was $26,982. Jess has never been on welfare. He sends money back to his
parents every month but he doesn t want to go back to Mexico, though he says that he does miss
his family and friends back in Mexico and he also misses farming. When he was asked what he
thought was the biggest difference between Phoenix and Mexico, he said that he had come from
a small town in Mexico and that Phoenix was such a big city compared to his home town. Jess
claims that he has not experienced any discrimination since he s been in Phoenix. He says
people have been good to him. Jess says that another difference between Phoenix and Mexico is the
cost of living. He says that It s (the cost of living) becoming very expensive now...I would never be
able to make it in Phoenix with only 150 pesos per day, I barely get by working my two jobs now.

Food Protein Derived Bioactive Peptides ( Bps )
Abstract
Food protein derived bioactive peptides (BPs) have been reported to trigger certain physiological
responses in the body, thereby influencing health positively. These peptides have attracted high
research and consumer interests due to their huge potential of use in functional foods and other
dietary interventions of disease control and health promotion. However, successful product
development is limited by the fact that current manufacturing processes are either difficult to scale
up, high in cost, or have the potential to affect the structure activity properties of these peptides. To
overcome these challenges, we have proposed in this review, the use of omic techniques and high
throughput simulation models to forecast the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Introduction
Over the years, it has become a known fact that health and nutrition are intricately linked. Not only
do food nutrients supply the necessary biomolecules for various metabolic activities, but, in some
cases, food nutrients are able to trigger certain desirable physiological responses in the body. Food
proteins and hydrolysates thereof are amongst the most well studied bioactive molecules (Danquah
and Agyei, 2012). Bioactive peptides have been defined as protein hydrolysates which, upon entry
and absorption into the body, have the ability to induce certain desirable and physiologically
measurable hormone like activities(Korhonen and Pihlanto, 2006). Some biological functions
induced by these peptides include immunomodulatory, cytomodulatory, opiate, antihypertensive,
antimicrobial, antithrombotic and metal chelation activities (Möller et al. , 2008). As natural
products of food origin, bioactive peptides have a huge potential in health promoting functional
foods and therapeutic products(Korhonen, 2009).However, this potential is not being realised as a
result of certain bioprocess challenges. The lack of commercially viable processes for large scale

It was a result of some combined factors playing against the wellbeing of the colonists and imposed upon the colonists by the British government. But a series of laws related to taxation which were passed between 1763 and 1775 can be considered as one of the most important factors which instigated the American Revolution. Even though the Stamp Act aroused vehement resistance and although most colonists continued to accept the authority of the British Parliament in respect of regulating their trades, they insisted that only their representative assemblies could levy direct, internal taxes, such as the one imposed by the Stamp Act ( STAMP ACT , n.d.). But their plea was actually overlooked by the British government which argued that all British subjects enjoyed virtual representation in Parliament, even if they could not vote for members of Parliament ( STAMP ACT , n.d.). Looking at the failure of the moderates in forcing the British government to reconsider the taxation process, the radicals started hinting on extreme measures for repealing the Stamp Act. It is to be noted that These radical voices warned that the tax was part of a gradual plot to deprive the colonists of their freedoms and to enslave them beneath a tyrannical regime ( STAMP ACT , n.d.). When you are young and curious and want to know why something is a certain way, you look for answers and research as much as you can to get a full idea about what something is. So when children are taught that sex is bad without given any background information to why or what it is, they tend to look deeper and start to engage in the activities to test the water and see if what they are taught is true. Rebellion is a very common among children and teenagers, and to be forced into believing that something is bad and harmful for you, just to find out the truth about sex, will eventually cause a stir and up rise of many young adults. • 11. The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective Teens By Sean Covey The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey is a modified version of his father s book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Unlike Stephen Covey, who wrote his book with the audience of adults in mind, his son s book is targeted towards teens. Covey avoids the academic writing style that one will find in Stephen s and delivers the seven habits model in an easy to read, humorous style that does not lose any of the impact of the seven habits (Change Management Coach). Being both entertaining and visually appealing, Covey goes deep into the seven habits while adding life experiences of both him and family. Included are also the stories of teens around the country. Each habit builds upon the next; therefore you cannot have habit two and three without habit one. Although together, the habits makeup an effective teen, separately, they each help in different ways, mentally and socially. In the following sentences, the habits are told in order. Habit one stands for proactivity, taking responsibility for your actions and life. The second habit, beginning with the end in mind, means that throughout life, people should know what they want and have a plan, whether or not it is something small or a bigger goal. Habit three is all about prioritizing and putting the important things first so that they do not become so urgent in the future. The first three habits are all about oneself and one s self victory . Throughout my life I have been interested in protecting the environment, many different avenues of art expression, and the cultural roots of mountain people. Now, all of those subjects are covered in The Encyclopedia of Appalachia, but I can go further to tie all of those subjects into the main topic of agriculture, specifically sustainable agriculture, which I just so happen to be majoring in (convenient, huh?). Those are both some obvious factors as to why agricultural practices may be hard in the region, but other than physical boundaries, what are the difficulties of growing in this mountainous region? I will surely need to know these if I plan to make a living off of growing in the mountains. My fascination for how native tribes work with the land raised the question of what crops were originally grown/are native, in Appalachia prior to the European invasion bringing about other crops. Were these new crops brought in essential for a growing population or were they destructive to the soil, being invasive plants? Tying into the idea of native crops, I would love to look more into the herbs found within the forests of Appalachia. Wanting to be a doula and homesteader, I have found interest in researching the benefits of medicinal herbs on the pains of childbirth. Finding those herbs right here in Appalachia would be ideal. The encyclopedia had a section entirely on mushrooms. I did not dive into what it said because at this point I am just seeking questions. I am wondering, however, why do mushrooms grow well here? Is it simply because of the thick canopy of the forest providing ample shade or do these mountains contain particular nutrients necessary for mushroom growth? The U.S. District Court acts as a trial court, norm enforcement, and makes policies. Everyone is entitled to a trial via the Sixth and Seventh Amendment for criminal and civil cases. Therefore, the U.S. District Court sees numerous cases. This court hears criminal and civil cases per the trial courts where attorneys are able to examine and cross examine witness before a jury of their peers. All federal cases go before the U.S. District Courts including criminal cases, civil cases, bankruptcy cases, etc. The second tier of the American federal court system is the U.S. Court of Appeals. The U.S. Court of Appeals act as reviewers and policymakers. This court reviews cases that litigants are disappointed with the decision the lower courts made. The U.S. Court of Appeals is more likely to make policy on a regional basis rather than a federal basis. The U.S. Court of Appeals hears numerous cases. They have zero control over which cases are brought before them. Since the U.S. Court of Appeals have several cases brought before them they start with a screening process to decide whether an appeal should receive a full review or to dispose of it. Kennedy to deal with foreign issues with both military and nonmilitary options. Kennedy took the position after Dwight D. Eisenhower with a narrow victory over Richard Nixon. Though the Soviet Union was causing trouble at the time, Kennedy focused on Cuba. The foreign policy of Flexible Response played a large role in dealing with the Soviet Unionand Cuba. From home, they waited for six long days as the Soviets approached Cuba and the blockade. The people lived as though this would be their last day because if anyone were to fire, World War III would have broken out. This was similar to Brinkmanship because the country was approaching the verge of war but again this was a military option President Kennedy used to stop the missiles from reaching Cuba. There are additional functionalities and integrations with these new platforms that the IT team feels the business would greatly benefit from. Next, we need to determine if the new software will work with the current hardware in place, but it does not due to the age of the current hardware. I advised that this would be a great time to start the virtualization project and we can use the new ERP system as the test bed. If we choose not to merge with the virtualization project to take advantage of the hardware, then we will need to establish costs for the new hardware and if this will fit into the current budget. We will then need to decide if the users will require extensive training for the new replacement software. Because this is brand new software utilizing a GUI, the users will need training. As such, we will have to research what type of training the company offers and the associated costs. Next we have to work out if the training for this new software fits into the budget in addition to the hardware. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There is contradicting evidence surrounding the issue, and many choose to eat organic foods as they believe they have higher nutritional outcomes and less chemical residues than conventional foods. As highlighted in the Wallis Inquiry, the proposed structure could better facilitate a more flexible response in the face of market developments and changing circumstances. Furthermore, overlaps, duplication and inconsistencies could be minimised. The Wallis Inquiry also pointed out the difficulties with having a single regulator, particularly the difficulty of requiring a single agency to adopt different regulatory styles. For example, under the old institutional based regulatory structure, a single regulator was required to both prudential regulation and consumer protection regulation. These were very different types of regulation. Following the Wallis Inquiry, it was recommended that prudential regulation would be under the purview of APRA while consumer protection regulation be the responsibility of ASIC. Another difficulty was that a single regulator could only provide a very limited perspective on certain regulatory issues. As raised by the Wallis Inquiry, the argument against assigning prudential regulatory responsibility to the RBA was that there are non bank areas of prudential regulation involved. Assigning prudential regulatory responsibility to the RBA would thus run the risk that it would approach regulation from a limited banking perspective. Additionally, a single regulator could have conflicting responsibilities. The Wallis Inquiry ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to these scientists, we can learn to shift our physiology and train the body s capacity to stay in this state so when temptation strikes, our response is self control. Under the Microscope: What is the threat? For your willpower challenge, identify the inner impulse that needs to be restrained. (McGonigal 54). My inner impulse that needs to be restrained is craving unhealthy food. If I am able to train my body to stay in a state of self control, those cravings will no longer be a problem for ... • 36. Evolving Federalism Essay Evolving Federalism Pre Class Assignment Federalism by definition is the division of power between a central government and its participating members. How that power is divided is the subjective aspect of federalism that was before the framers of the United States. Through compromise and necessity the seeds for a strong central government were planted alongside already strong state governments. Over time the seeds for strong central government grew; wars, economic fluctuations and national growth established a strong central government. As America s idea of federalism changed the central government grew more powerful, the state s government gave more power away, and local governments were established. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Schreiber s fifth and final stage is the post World War II era. Here, creative federalism is born. Creative federalism points to a strong centralized government that initiates federal programs to fight poverty, hunger, crime, and other social issues. This stage sees a noticeable increase of power given to the national government by the Warren Court. Schreiber concludes by describing a struggle between cooperative federalism and creative federalism. He sees these two models of federalism in competition with one another on how power will be distributed between the three levels of government. This is best described by Russell Hanson, in Governing Partners, as competitive federalism , which is the idea that the three levels of government must compete for power in a zero sum game. It can be argued that we now are in a sixth stage that can be defined as competitive federalism. Recent struggles involving gay marriage, education, tax reform, and anti terrorism funding prove that a struggle for power between the three levels of government is ongoing. The issue of education best exemplifies the changing nature of intergovernmental relations. State and local governments run their own school systems, and for the most part, fund them as well. Without genes, we wouldn t have the same eye color, hair color, nose size, mouth size, freckles, dimples, and many other physical appearances. Not only would we not have the same physical appearances, our brains would be different. Your brain may have diseases that it does not have now. The study of genetics has come a very long way since it was first introduced. Nancy Wexler was an enormous contribute to the study of genetics through personal experiences, the Hereditary Disease Foundation, and her journey in Venezuela. Muchos Somoss By Pablo Neruda Literary Devices Muchos Somos After reading the poem Muchos Somos By Pablo Neruda in his poem he is describing himself confuse and conflict of self by revealing different concepts of identity and his trouble dealing with many personalities. The metaphor is found in the last line of the poem when he says, I shall speak not of self, but of geography. (Neruda, Line 45) I believe he is comparing his character to a world of unknown lands like a town placed in a valley or a river. Without an understanding of Neruda s mind it seems he feels lost and powerless, and this metaphor helps the reader to express those feelings. This is possible because the nodes that are in between the server and the client have no idea who is talking to whom and what is being exchanged between them. • 41. Outline Of The DSCA Command Relationships During Hurricane... DSCA Command Relationships during Katrina SFC Marson, Kellen Master Leader Course Class 18 001 Introduction On August 29th, 2005, Hurrican Katrina, a Category 4 hurricane, made landfall. Katrina left severe destruction along the Golf Coast and evenutally breached the New Orleans levee system putting the city under water. The death toll was estimated at 1,245 people and an estimated $105 billion dollars in damage occured (Knabb 2011). During Katrina, command relationships failed because of political differences between President Bush and Louisiana Governor, Kathleen Blanco as to who should command the National Guard, delays at the National Guard Bureau (NGB) in deploying troops and equipment, and failing to create a unity of effort between National Guard and Active Duty forces. National Guard The aftermath of Hurricane Katrina left tens of thousands of people in New Orleans without adequate water, food, shelter, and physical security. Law enforcement was in disarray as 200 New Orleans Police officers left their post. The Louisiana National Guard was short on personnel and much of their equipment was unserviceable due to flooding. Thousands of people needed help and critical distribution of resources from Defense Support of Civilian Authorities (DSCA) failed. As New Orleans spiraled out of control, looting and crime were becoming a serious problem. The Louisiana National Guard focused on rescue missions, rather than keeping Law Order. The public began to blame President Bush and Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco for their poor response to the recovery efforts. In a meeting on Airforce One, President Bush tried to convince Governor Blanco to federalize the National Guard in order to have all forces under one central command. Governor Blanco refused this offer, believing that Bush s attempt to federalize the Louisiana National Guard was just attempt to blame her for post Katrina problems (Farazmand, 2014). While President Bush and Governor Blanco argued over politics, valuable time was being wasted and innocent people in New Orleans continued to suffer and parish at the hands of it s own federal and state governments. Food Protein Derived Bioactive Peptides ( Bps ) Abstract Food protein derived bioactive peptides (BPs) have been reported to trigger certain physiological responses in the body, thereby influencing health positively. These peptides have attracted high research and consumer interests due to their huge potential of use in functional foods and other dietary interventions of disease control and health promotion. However, successful product development is limited by the fact that current manufacturing processes are either difficult to scale up, high in cost, or have the potential to affect the structure activity properties of these peptides. To overcome these challenges, we have proposed in this review, the use of omic techniques and high throughput simulation models to forecast the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Introduction Over the years, it has become a known fact that health and nutrition are intricately linked. Not only do food nutrients supply the necessary biomolecules for various metabolic activities, but, in some cases, food nutrients are able to trigger certain desirable physiological responses in the body. Food proteins and hydrolysates thereof are amongst the most well studied bioactive molecules (Danquah and Agyei, 2012). Bioactive peptides have been defined as protein hydrolysates which, upon entry and absorption into the body, have the ability to induce certain desirable and physiologically measurable hormone like activities(Korhonen and Pihlanto, 2006). Some biological functions induced by these peptides include immunomodulatory, cytomodulatory, opiate, antihypertensive, antimicrobial, antithrombotic and metal chelation activities (MГ¶ller et al. , 2008). As natural products of food origin, bioactive peptides have a huge potential in health promoting functional foods and therapeutic products(Korhonen, 2009).However, this potential is not being realised as a result of certain bioprocess challenges. The lack of commercially viable processes for large scale ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
