Format:
As I decided the format of my music magazine for the front cover and the double page spread.
The format of my music magazine will have a pop genre, therefore the format will be best suited
for the theme of my music magazine E.
Working Title:
As I have decided for my music magazine to be called “E”, which stand for “Exclusive”, however I
may change the name of the music magazine to “volume”, “Harmony” or “Melody”, which have
more of a connection to music. Like, my magazine of inspiration Q magazine, the title will be
presented in a red box, with a gold “E” inside the box. As, the title “E” will be on the left side of
the music magazine.
Genre:
The sub-genre of my music magazine will be pop music. This mean this magazine will just features
pop music artist like Michael Jackson. In addition, my music magazine will just appeals to
audience who is a fan of pop music.
Content:
On the double page spread there will be an interview will be contain of my first issue of “E”. I will
interview with Paloma Faith, who will be answering my question about her music, inspiration and
her fashion. Moreover, my music magazine will be released monthly, as Paloma Faith will be
featured on the front cover and double page spread, as my first issue. The reason why I have
chose a famous artist, not an unknown is because this will create ‘star appeal’- (Richard Dyer), as
this will increase the profit of the music magazine, which will make my music magazines
successful. Moreover, I will features a puff promotion and use buzzword like ‘free’, ‘exclusives’
and ‘special’, so the magazine will be exciting to read as you may feel like that you will be gain
something out of the music magazine.
Style or Approach:
The denotation of the colour scheme for the magazine front cover will be is red as the primary
colour in my music magazine colour as red is a bold and eye-catching colour. Moreover, the
colour red is a glamorous, which mean my music magazine must be glamorous. Moreover, I will
use the colour gold as this represent that my pop music magazine is exclusive and special.
However, I will use the colour blue in my magazine as the puff promotion, as blue is a calming
colour for my music magazine. Finally, I will use the colour white and black for most of the
background and the font for my music, as these colours are fresh, bold and simple, so they will
make the magazine easier to read.
I am going to use Photoshop to construct the magazine pages (Front Cover and DPS) because this
software have various of tools, which is benefits me has I can edits the main images and the front
cover and double pages, so this can makes the music magazine looks professional, so I can make
the image look glossy and create the perfect image for my music magazine.
Some of the tools in Photoshop that will be particularly beneficial in constructing on the front
page will be colour correction, so I can make the main image duller and brighter, touch ups and
enhancement, all of these tools will help me to create the main image of the front cover of my
first issue of E.
Audience:
My music magazine target audience is between 15-30 year old. The reason is because my pop
music magazine will mention mostly modern day artist, however my music magazine could
mention older pop artist, which could appeal to someone older than the age range. The gender,
which could be more attracted to my music magazine, is female. This is because by stereotype
males and females, males will like rock music and also like the colour black or blue whiles females
will like pop music and like the colour pink and purple.
Length:
I am going to make A4 pages, which will include the front cover and a double page spread for the
first ever issue of “E”.
Frequency:
The frequency of my music magazine will be monthly. This is because their will be a higher quality
of information in my music magazine. In addition there will be more information in my magazine
that will keep, audience interesting as their will included different information about music, artist
or bands.
