How does Earth
compare with other
objects in the solar
system?
- Our solar system is very beautiful.
- It’s made of the Sun and all the objects that
orbit around the sun.
The Solar system
- Round objects in space that are satellites of the
sun “Rotates around the sun”
- Smaller and cooler than stars.
- Cannot make their own light (reflect the sun’s
light)
Planets
The order of the planets
Some planets are divided into
Rocky planets
1- Mercury
2-Venus
3- Earth
4- Mars
Gas planets
1- Jupiter
2- Saturn
3- Uranus
4- Neptune
Mercury
-The first planet in the
solar system.
-It’s the closest planet to
the sun.
-It’s very hot planet.
Venus
-The second planet in the
solar system.
-The hottest planet in
the solar system because
it has a very thick
atmosphere that prevent
heat from escaping
-The brightest planet in
the solar system.
Earth
-The third planet in the
solar system.
-The home planet for
millions of living forms
including us.
-70% of the Earth surface
is water.
Mars
-The fourth planet in the
solar system.
-It’s called the red planet.
-It has 3 moons.
Jupiter
-The fifth planet in the
solar system.
-The biggest planet in
the solar system.
-It has a red spot on its
surface.
Saturn
-The sixth planet in the
solar system.
-The second largest plant.
-It’s surrounded by very
beautiful rings.
-It’s so light that can float
on the water.
Uranus
-The seventh planet in
the solar system.
- It’s very cold planet; as
it’s far from the sun.
Neptune
-The eighth planet in the
solar system.
-The furthest planet in
the solar system.
-It’s the coldest planet in
the solar system.
