From audience research, I have learned that different audiences vary in their preferences depending on factors like age, gender and genre. The survey responses showed people of similar age had different views on films. I also learned about audience expectations for opening sequences, including common conventions and what specific genres like thrillers typically contain in their openings. Research revealed what teenagers want to see in openings as well.

I have learnt a lot of different things. These include how different audiences
vary in what they like, openings sequences and what teenagers want to see in
an opening sequence.
Firstly, I have learnt that different audiences vary in what they like. This is
because although the audiences may be the same age and gender, the genre
of film that they like may be different. I know this because of the answers that
we have had from our target audience survey. This is because more people
were around the same age but had different views on films.
I’ve also learnt about opening sequences. This is what the audience expect to
see in an opening sequence and what is actually included in the sequence. As
well as this, the main conventions that need to be included in an opening
sequence and the different types of thriller types of movies and what is
included in them.
