AUDIENCE FOR YOUR
MEDIA PRODUCT?
WHO IS THE TARGET AUDIENCE?
• Our movie is aimed at people over the age of 15 as some of the content isn’t for
younger audience for example some strong language is used through out the
movie also the fighting scenes have violence which could be found disturbing.
The movie is can be for both genders as it’s got the romantic side which is
stereotypically used to attract female audience and the boxing/ fighting side to
attract males. The movie is perfect for people who like boxing and drama. It
would be good for people who like going to cinema but also good for people
who like to watch movies at home.
WHAT PRE-PRODUCTION RESEARCH DID YOU
CONDUCT WITH THE AUDIENCE?
• When we were at the start of planning the movie we created a questionnaire and
had people from different age groups based it to see anything should be
changed. We asked 12 different people about different aspects of their film
preferences and what they would expect to see in our movie.
• As part of research we asked the participants to read the extract which
summarised the plot of our movie. Once they had read it we asked them to fill in
the questions on the other sheet.(shown on next slide)

• Once we had our results we created charts to represent different answers. These
helped us to make sure the movie was available for a more wider audience so it
would have more of a success.
