3. Research
• The strengths of my research are that I don’t play games so I needed to
see what different games there were and which were more popular than
others so I could think of something good that people would like.
• One of the weaknesses is that because of this I had to ask everyone else
and I wasn't too sure myself which slowed me down on ideas as it was
hard to find out which I would like to do personally.
• Next time I think I would choose a different option that has more action
and detail on because this one is mostly green and quite boring and
doesn’t have a lot of movement like I wanted it to.
4. Planning
• The strengths of my planning are that I went into full detail to make sure that
it was exactly perfect for what I wanted and I also wanted to know myself just
everything about my game.
• The weaknesses are that I didn’t use most of the ideas when coming t it as it
would take too much time or just wouldn’t fit into the game what's so ever
with spacing, so I wasted lots of time on my planning for something that I
didn’t even use at the end this could have gone into more of the power points
or into doing the actual game and I might have been able to pout more effort
into the game and make it better as I don’t really like my game because it isn’t
long enough and didn’t add everything I needed as my tutor wanted me to
finish on the deadline so that I wasn’t behind.
• If I had the chance I would probably done a completely different game and
spent more time perfecting it and would have asked for help more instead of
panicking that I didn’t know exactly how to use the photo shop timeline to
make the animation as I had forgot but was too shy to ask so spent most of the
time delaying it which made me at the time slightly behind stopping me from
been able to do the best game I could do.
5. Time Management
• I didn’t manage my time well as I struggled to use the photo shop time
line so tried to delay it as I was too shy to ask but in the end brought up
the courage to ask. Also over Christmas I couldn’t finish power points or
improve them as my laptop wouldn’t let me open things on my memory
stick so I had to spend two days at college to finish what I had done.
• The first couple of weeks I kept up to the work it was just because of
Christmas it slowed me down but I did finish something in time to hand in
so I am not behind anymore. If I had more time I would spend more time
perfecting it and making it longer and more detail also spend time making
the audio fit better than what it already does and maybe music in the
background.
6. Technical Qualities
Some of the
similarities
are that its
both aiming
and from
different
areas of the
screen. It also
if like a flick
game they
have the
same
positioning as
well. They
both are ball
games as
well.
Some of the differences are that the
backgrounds are different the other
just has a white background as mine
has more colour and setting.
Also mine says win as the other
doesn’t also mine is a different sport
which is a large difference. Mine
doesn't’t have a score board and that
can be ineffective as people don’t have
an aim to reach.
7. Aesthetic Qualities
In my opinion I think my work looks good, I like
the neatness of the work and the colour
separation with the billboards.
I don’t really like the fact I've used too much
green it’s a little overpowering also don’t like
how the ball doesn’t stand out too much, so I
would change the crowd to have a more pastel
colour so that it is more natural skin colours
I would next time make my
animation longer and add music
so that it isn’t quiet and boring.
8. Audience Appeal
My target audience was anyone
who liked rugby and I make it like
that by making a rugby game.
Its easy to understand and brightly
coloured and in reality colour isn't a
massive part of the game so colour
blind people can play as well.
It isn’t mentally challenging so is
less stressful also with the wide
bars makes it more likely so it’s a
better win which is good for them
whom don’t like to lose. The fact it
is easy to understand makes it good
for younger kids as well o people
with learning difficulties can use
the game easily and with fun.
Rugby is also becoming a lot more
popular so more in demand.
10. Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product? I liked
that it was quite different never seen a game
like this before.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product? Make it longer is too short.
11. Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product? The
smoothness of the ball across the page.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product? Don’t use too much green and
maybe make it longer
12. Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product? The
sound effects were good. I liked the add of the
flag so u could tell what team it was.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product? Little short and the crowd
doesn't look like a crown enough.
13. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback? I agree with the fact that it is too short
and there was a lot of green used also that the
crowd isn’t identified very well as it just looks like
patchy grass but it was hard to do with the team
Ireland and then I had to pick a team where the
ball could bee seen.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback? I don’t disagree with anything think
everything said was fair and understandable.
14. Peer Feedback Summary
I will have to go back and make it longer by
doing a part where the ball misses. also
some better sounds and put more colours in
the crowd so it doesn’t look like patchy
grass. I could also maybe add a score board
if could to make it stand out more and also
could make it longer because I could take a
few seconds showing the point go up.
