AgriFuture 
Bringing technology closer to agriculture 
TechSharp
AgriFuture is a leading international marketer and distributor of agricultural products, animal feed and specialty chemicals and ingredients. They have varied types of customers, some who are extremely knowledgeable to some novices in the field of agriculture. AgriFuture has collated a large knowledge base on the agricultural products and their usage. The KB contains crop planning guide that can help estimate the income and cost of production for different crops in the various soil zones, across several countries. AgriFuture having extensive experience with pest diagnosis, Yield monitoring, Soil Analysis, etc., they also intend to collate information such as past farm records across their client base to help them optimize production. Understanding the customer’s issues, AgriFuture wants to incorporate technology and implement the following:  Field sampling  Soil, Tissue & Water Analyses.  Direct Sampling.  Composite Sampling.  Analyze and visualize maps of large farms and fields, crops, applications, yield, soil fertility, within-the-field variability and crop imagery: This needs to be implemented on any GPS enabled device and mapping them on maps. This data needs to be mapped through: 
 Zones: these are the sections on the field which have similar geological characteristics. 
 Data from USDA. 
 NDVI (Handling Infrared data from geo tiff file). 
 Heat Map: Showing landscape by interpolating sample points (ex: soil sample). 
 Integrate with on-field devices for precision agriculture. For example: Based on the gathered data regarding the soil, weather and the zone the seed distribution needs to be implemented. This requires lot of data analysis and processing. The solution also need to provide details on how this data will be stored and processed. 
 Keep meticulous records and ability to trace for everything that happens in the farm. 
 A decision support system that allows crop consultants and growers to make educated decisions on actions based on historical data, legal regulations, and industry standards and an executive dashboard that provides the information to the users real-time. 
 Assume approximately 10,000 transactions per hour and upwards of 50+ TB of data.
