• Young adults are the main target audience for the thriller genre as they find the plots interesting,
they love the suspense and sometimes the cliff-hangers
• Thrillers mostly appeals to 15+ especially because thriller films are usually certificated 15 due to the
graphic and frightening content
• When it comes to gender, thrillers appeal to both females and males. Males are interested in thrillers
due to it being action packed, males love the suspense thriller packs whilst females are attracted to
thriller because they like being left asking questions, wondering what will happen next. They love the
‘challenge’ the genre brings.
• Thriller movies could be aimed at any of the letter codes. This is because it has such a wide audience.
However not all thrillers would appeal to every letter code such as the E code because they may not
understand or see the appeal of a thriller.

students. Those of a younger age may get frightened due to the potential
graphic content therefore out thriller is aimed 15+. In terms of
psychographics, viewers would fit into the ‘Mainstreamers and ‘Explorer’
category due to the fact that this genre doesn’t address day to day
problems in life meaning the people watching this type of genre are
challenging themselves. People from this groups are the best to aim for
because they will have time to watch our film and they probably go to the
cinemas regularly

There are several films that have left good impressions on people, we all know that first impressions are important. Well, the same goes for the
opening sequence of a film. An opening sequence is that film’s opportunity to make a good first impression on you, the viewer. A good opening
sequence introduces the audience to the theme of the film, it gives the audience a brief idea of what the film will be about.

varieties of genres from documentary to a big 3D family film or action flick.
