Question 4
1.
2. TARGET AUDIENCE
• THE BBFC FOR OUR PRODUCTION, THE CHALLENGE IS A 15; THIS IS BECAUSE WE FEEL THAT
ANYONE YOUNGER THAN 15 WILL NOT BE SUITABLE TO WATCH THIS FILM DUE TO THE
INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT THE PRODUCTION CARRIES. ALTHOUGH WE COULD HAVE RATED
THE PRODUCTION AN 18, WE FELT THAT THIS WOULD BE TOO OLD FOR THE PRODUCTION AS
THE FILM IS AVAILABLE TO WATCH BY ANYONE YOUNGER THAN 18, BUT NOT YOUNGER THAN
15.
• WE COULD NOT HAVE RATED THE FILM A 12 AS IT WOULD BE TOO YOUNG AND WOULD
PSYCHOLOGICALLY AFFECT THE CHILD’S MIND AND WOULD BE SENSITIVE FOR THEIR EYES
TO WATCH, THEREFORE WE RATED THE FILM A 15 AS IT WAS THE PERFECT RATING FOR THE
PRODUCTION.
3. TEENAGERS
• These pictures represent our target audience as they are in
the suitable range for watching our production as they are
portrayed to be 15 and above. This particular group of
teenagers often share the same interests and hobbies,
which may include watching horror/thriller films; hence
why they are the ideal age for watching our production.
• Also, the target audience is not set to a particular gender or
ethnicity, mainly towards anyone who has interest in
horror/thriller films.
4. ADULTS
• The specific target audience for our production is 15-48 year
olds, this means that middle aged adults are most likely to also
take interest in our film as the content may attract their
interests.
• We chose to go up to the age of 48 as we believed it would be a
suitable age to view the product, as anyone older than 48 may not
be interested in the production due to the inappropriateness.
• Not only that, but anyone above the age of 48 tend to lose interest
in horror/thriller films, therefore we kept the rating very limited
and stuck with 15-48.
5. PERSONAL REVIEWS
We had asked people from our target audience to give reviews on what they
think of our product:
• “Very chilling and suspenseful production…enjoyed watching it” -Uzma
Khan, University student, 20
• “The makeup was amazing! Looked so realistic that it gave me goose
bumps!”-Abbie Kent, Sixth form student, 16
• “Would love to see the whole film! The ending gave me chills!” -John Parker,
Retail store manager, 34
