an area for coaching as-well as physical education to take place.

Recreation – As mentioned in our outline for this assignment,
recreation comes in many forms and can be purely for entertainment
(Lunn, 2021). The events that take place The Giggle Damn Dinner
Theatre act as a form of entertainment and provide people with a
social setting to support their local comedians and artists.

done (and may be encouraged) in various environments such as, while
the youth and mentor are participating in recreational/leisure activities
(ie. riding bikes in a park, or while playing sports).

COQUITLAM LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL

community. This volunteer work ranges from coaching the little league
teams to cleaning and cooking, offering great opportunities and
assistance when interested in little league baseball. There is also no
financial incentive for the volunteers involved. Volunteering as a coach
here would fall under the “athletics and sport” category of the “four
broad categories of non-profit, non-charitable corporations” (Lunn,
2021, p. 9).
Coaching & Physical education – Provides the means to volunteer for a
coaching position for a little league baseball team. This may be a great
way to get your foot in the door when it comes to coaching a semi-
competitive team, offering insight and experience for those interested.

COQUITLAM FIELD SPORT ASSOCIATION

together groups of people to partake in field sports. It would also be
classified under the athletics and sport category due to its
involvement in/with sports clubs of all ages (Lunn, 2021, p. 9).
They seek to promote and grow outdoor sports within the tri-cities.
Coaching, Recreation, and Physical education – The Coquitlam Field
Sports Association seeks to grow and promote sports within our
community, thus supporting coaches, recreation and physical
education. The voluntary sector typically has “the closest ties to the
local communities”, usually seeking to do what is best for the
community in their given area (Lunn, 2021, p. 9)
