values and concepts to encourage and persist with a healthy life.

This sector creates employment opportunities and in whole contributes
to capital, wealth and resources (Lunn, 2020, p. 7).
3. VOLUNARY SECTOR
Relies on members efforts and passions for their organizations the
survive and mainly target a specific group of people (Lunn, 2020, p.10).
3. Port Coquitlam Community Centre
Address: 2150 Wilson Avenue, Port Coquitlam, BC
Service Sector: Public Sector – based on the characteristics of this sector, this community centre has
the nature of service where fees are subsidized or at times even free (Lunn, 2020, p.
3). Because of this, it is very accessible to the community. This community centre
also provides a place where values and concepts are proven to follow methods of
health and healthy lifestyles included in it (Lunn, 2020, p. 3).
SPSC 2210 Connection: Recreation – The Port Coquitlam community centre serves the Port Coquitlam
community and anyone surrounding! The centre holds lessons for public skating,
youth hockey league's, and many more different activities for the public to partake
in. Adventure 1 mentions, “Leisure provides leadership opportunities that BUILD
STRONG COMMUNITIES” (Lunn, 2020, p. 3, as cited in Lunn, 2020).

4. Gates Park
Address: 2300 Reeve Street, Port Coquitlam, BC
Service Sector: Public Sector – because this location is a public park, there is a
high school located next to it, there is a soccer club and lacrosse
association that all call their fields home, this location fits many
aspects of a public sector. Lunn (2020) mentioned that the
clientele of these sectors are for the general public and is a
service that is necessary and one that enables sport and fitness.
SPSC 2210 Connection: Physical Education/Coaching – Gates park is a beautiful facility
that plenty of people have seen and taken in, Many soccer,
baseball, and other general activities are taken place here
including a very nice path for any walking biking or taking in the
beauty! In Course Adventure 2 there was a Ad For
ParticipACTION Comparing a older Swedish adult to a younger
Canadian , Gates park is one of many facilities now days that

Service Sector: Public Sector – this outdoor facility is a public park that hosts
and has many included bonus’. Because this park has an outdoor
space open and welcome to all, it qualifies as a public sector
based on the opportunities it provides to: peoples with
disabilities, the poor, and others (Lunn, 2020, p. 3).
SPSC 2210 Connection: Recreation – Rocky Point is a great place to take in the beautiful
water, and also a great place for biking walking, and even dragon
boating or canoeing!
6. TWIST Sport Conditioning Centre
Address: 101-1776 Broadway Street, Port Coquitlam, BC
Service Sector: Commercial Sector – in particular an indoor commercial
recreation, this company and training facility qualifies as a
commercial sector as it is heavily based on demand (Lunn, 2020,
p. 6).
SPSC 2210 Connection: Physical Education – TWIST is a program that many different
schools use and also adults to stay in shape! TWIST offers many
different workouts day to day to keep everyone entertained and
healthy! Course Adventure 1 Mentions the optimal arousal level
which is a simple theory that states everyone has different levels
where the perform or act the best. Why I mention this is because
Rocky Point has so many different opportunities for people to
learn play and have fun! (Lunn, 2020, p. 10, as cited in Lunn,
2020)
7. The Batter Box
Address: 122-1551 Broadway Street, Port Coquitlam, BC
Service Sector: Commercial Sector – because this is an indoor practice centre,
this is a commercial sector. This company is profit orientated and
has high level training taking place inside with people who fall
under a specific market group (Lunn, 2020, p. 7).
SPSC 2210 Connection: Coaching (sport) Programs – The Batters Box is where A lot of
coaches resort to take their baseball teams and or players that
are looking to take it to the next level. The batters box offers
many different options for players to learn more about
themselves and the sport of baseball!

8. Fitness World

Service Sector: Commercial Sector – this gym is filled with people who pay to
partake in physical activity. This is an indoor commercial
recreation centre that has specialized service for anyone who can
afford it, uses advertisement to encourage demand and a place
where specialized service and high quality is expected (Lunn,
2020, p. 6-7).
SPSC 2210 Connection: Recreation/Physical Education – Fitness World is a Gym that
many of the young community goes too! This gym helps young
students and many different people from different places have a
safe place to workout and build a safe community at a reasonable
price!
9. KidSport Tri-Cities
Address: 630 Hillcrest Street, Coquitlam, BC
Service Sector: Voluntary Sector – because this program is a directed to a special
interest group, is great for the community, engages in sport and
children 18 and under do not need to pay, this is a great example
of a voluntary sector (Lunn, 2020, p. 8-9).
SPSC 2210 Connection: Recreation – KidSport is a amazing organization that many
people benefit from in the Tri-City and surrounding areas. They
help people afford equipment by reducing prices for people to
afford and also sponsoring people that cant afford equipment or
fees!
10. Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver
Address: 102-1193 Kingsway, Vancouver, BC
Service Sector: Voluntary Sector – because this location is a public park, there is
a high school located next to it, there is a soccer club and lacrosse
association that all call their fields home, this location fits many
aspects of a public sector. Lunn (2020) mentioned that the
clientele of these sectors are for the general public and is a
service that is necessary and one that enables sport and fitness.
SPSC 2210 Connection: Recreation – Big Brothers is a mentorship program for youth
that help young kids become apart of the community and also
helps youth see what a proper role body should be.

Service Sector: Voluntary Sector – this company is a non-profit organization that
originated small and grew to be a large company with a need in
its community and provides students and youth with games,
physical education and age-related involvement (Lunn, 2020, p.
9).
SPSC 2210 Connection: Physical Education/Coaching (sport) Programs – Sport for Life
helps young people stay in shape. Sport for Life organizes
different games and activities for people to stay in shape for life!
