This facility relies on volunteers to repair bicycles or refurbish
sports and recreational equipment. Volunteer at community
events, equipment collection drives and fundraising events

reconditioned sports and recreational equipment to children
in need in Surrey, White Rock, Langley, Cloverdale and North
Delta. Children are provided equipment through referral
agencies including schools, Municipal and Provincial
government departments, Community Services, the Police and

sports equipment to kids in needs, including Hockey Skates,
Bicycles, Soccer, Softball and many other types of gear. Plays a

12. Field Hockey

Service sector – volunteer
Community volunteers are an integral part of what they do,
from our program volunteers to our board members. FHBC is
looks for volunteers for every tournament to help build and
tear-down portable infrastructure (tents, tables etc.). We are
looking for the unsung heroes who will join us at the crack of
dawn and at the end of a long day, rain or shine. If you are
able to help and live or work near a tournament venue, we
would like to hear from you.

people who experience barriers to participation in recreational
sports. Without opportunities to play and exercise regularly
with friends and peers, marginalized youngsters are vulnerable
to becoming isolated socially and emotionally, which puts their

13. Guildford Athletic Club

like most other sports organizations, is almost entirely supported
by volunteers. It is a well-known fact that without volunteers most
kids would not be playing in community sports today. Volunteers
help subsidize the cost of children participating in sports.
Spsc 2210 connection GAC is a soccer club dedicated to providing
boys, girls and adults an opportunity to play organized soccer.
Opportunities exist for players to play from a fun-filled non-
competetive atmosphere to the highest level the sport can offer.
The club promotes learning through the sport in a friendly
environment. Playing style varies and depends on the age of the
player.
