FD Proposed Addition – Updating Request
This document is a proposed addition to the P26–FD–RPTS–Office of the State Auditor.vX.X (FD)
The purpose of this document is to outline the procedure for requesting changes to the monthly data
that is outlined in the FD document. This is for new field and table requests from the Office of the
State Auditor (OSA) to DHHS.
This does not include requests to fix a field that is reporting incorrect data (IE the forward facing
system shows a different value then the monthly data). This request also does not include reporting
of defects in the system (IE items that show the same in both the forward facing and monthly data
but are deemed to be calculated incorrectly by the system.)
Types of changes:
1) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
IE: a waterfall of tabs to click on to get to the provided screenshot(s).
3) The request will include the time period it is for.
a. All requests are assumed to be for data moving forward. IE: that the new fields or tables will be
needed every month going forward.
i. If the request is for a one time item (IE: for a special audit or one time audit) then the request
should not be added to the monthly data files. Instead it should go through the normal data request
path for OSA to request data from DHHS.
b. The request will state if it is for one of the following time periods
i. Current State Fiscal Year
1. This will be require the new data to be re–sent to OSA for all of the months of the current State
Fiscal Year
a. State Fiscal Year (SFY) is July 1, through June, 30th. ii. Next State Fiscal Year
1. This will mean that the new data will start with the next July data file
a. DHHS may start sending the field or table with remaining files for the current SFY, but would not
retro it back to the beginning of the current SFY.
i. This may be necessary to vet the new field or table before it needs to go live iii. Past State Fiscal
Years
1. This will be require the new data to be re–sent to OSA for all of the months of data back to the
beginning of NCFAST
c. The request will state if it needs to be rushed.
i. Any request that does not state that it needs to be rushed will be assumed to not be a rush.
d. The request will state a date that

Nietzsche And The Birth Of Tragedy
Austin Tierney Thompson 4970 05–06–2018 Nietzsche and The Birth of Tragedy To argue that
Birth of Tragedy has a central claim; "theory is created at the expense of art", is to attempt to reduce
its offerings to an oversimplification of a single thematic component. A central claim is the result of
a complete and settled debate within defined parameters. This is true even if this settlement;
subsequently, proves merely temporary. To be central is to exist at a single point between the outer
parameters of phenomena which must be known or at least defined and agreed upon. There is no
single central claim that could conceivably be presented as a reference point offering access to
anything like a comprehensive insight to all that this work contains. That " theory is created at the
expense of art " is certainly a discernible assertion made by Nietzsche. That said there are a myriad
of other premises and claims within Birth of Tragedy that cannot simply be ... Show more content on

How then might we progress in arriving at the "kernel of this strange and inaccessible book" by this
"brooding lover of puzzles" ? One possible mode of discernment is offered by the author himself via
a comment he makes on another great work on which so many have differing views and approaches;
Hamlet:We find the same thing in Shakespeare, whose Hamlet, for example likewise speaks more
superficially than he acts, so the lesson of Hamlet, which we have already mentioned, is to be found
not in the words themselves but in a profound contemplation and survey of the play as a whole"To
gain access to Birth of Tragedy, to define its claims and to locate their relationship we must not, of
course, ignore the actual text but we certainly need to be mindful of more than that which is simply
being said and to be willing to consider and take in to account; the intent of the author in publishing
this work, the discernable premises and meanings inherent in its

Testing Different Websites Are The Best Process Of Control...
Testing different websites' versions is the best process to control improvements. Although it sounds
like a simple changing features activity, testing is a big challenge that often involves teams such as
marketers, designers, researchers, and analysts, which makes the testing process even harder. The
risk of failure on the experiment is higher when the test is built based on the team's insights only and
not on the users' point of view. However, it is important to try different types of testing to uncover
possible root causes of a drop in the website traffic and make wise decisions to fix it.
The First test (A/B test) Once the first website version is published and we start tracking
measurements, it is important to perform a simple A/B ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of the time it requires resources that are already available at the company. In addition, it is
important to choose relevant pages or element for the measurements and changes. Avinash also
states that there must be big changes on the version A and B of the website, so that we can observe
changes in conversions and outcome (Web Analytics, 2010, 209). A/B test has been described as the
best technique to start a testing journey, nevertheless frequently relying on A/B test results could
also mean that the changes are slowly impacting the traffic.
Multivariate test
Unlike in A/B test, in multivariate test we use more than one element at the same time. The first task
is to identify the critical elements to be optimized. After that we will create two or more versions of
each element. For example, using multivariate test to decide whether the picture on the landing page
is bringing traffic or not, and where it looks more attractive on the page we can at least design three
different versions: One with the picture on the right side, one with the picture on the left side, and
another one with no picture at all. Multivariate test requires javaScript implementation from the
testing tool; therefore each of the elements on the test would have a tag around, and the alternatives
would be uploaded into the testing tool (google website optimizer).
Types of multivariate test
You can execute multivariate test using the

Magic If Play Analysis
For our directorial focus we decided was 'the betrayal of family and creating a new dream' fits with
our chosen scene as the two young characters in this scene who are portraying this directorial focus
though their dialogue and actions. This led to the two characters in this scene disregarding their
previous dreams and their family to create their own dream to pursue. During the process of creating
this performance, we also learnt about the importance of the Stanislavski method and how it can
ameliorate the performer's actions and dialogue. Some of the Stanislavski techniques that I have
personally used to enhance my character and to fully believe in my performance is the 'Magic If'
technique. Since I have not been in a position such as my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

One of these conventions included the convention of props. In a particular part of the scene. Johnnie
picks up a kewpie doll and messes around with it like an illegitimate souvenir. From this particular
part from this scene. Bubba's concern rises from Johnnie describing the dolls as well as the summer
dream as a joke or an unworthy dream. Another convention that was used was the convention of
realistic language. When the argument breaks out the two character cannot over–exaggerate their
voices otherwise it ruins the purpose of realism theatre. Instead the voices had to be slightly raised
in dynamics and in pitch which will make it as realistic as possible. Also the use of subtext in the
scene gave the scene more meaning and it also addressed the concern for my character as the subtext
within the other character shows what he really means. Furthermore conventions of realism that
acknowledged the directorial focus for our scene included the convention of believable character. To
make the scene work under realism theatre, characters need to be relatable and believable to the
audience. Since our directorial focus is 'the betrayal of family and creating a new dream' the
audience must relate to this focus as well as the characters. Another convention of realism theatre is
the convention of a Super Objective. This gives the characters a deeper purpose to this scene. In my
case, my Super Objective

Recommend Elements In The Design Of Audit Trails And Data...
Part 1: Recommend elements included in the design of audit trails and data quality monitoring
programs With today's advancement in technology, most hospitals have developed a data security
plan to ensure that patient data is being handled correctly and is only viewed by authorized
personnel. Hospitals can keep unauthorized personnel from viewing patient information by setting
up individual passwords (Wager, Lee, & Glaser, 2013) only allowing those employees to view the
patient's information for them to complete their job task. When an employee is entering information
into the system, it needs to be in real time as much as possible to keep human errors from occurring
and for a correction to be made there will need to be a note attached to ... Show more content on

We also need a more secure software to keep those who are not authorized from accessing the
system. One of the ways we can achieve this is by making sure the software that we have is only
accessible by the staff from audit department and not our normal hospital employees (Loshin, 2011).
The software also needs to be designed that once the data has been retrieved for an audit, it can no
longer be changed unless it is approved through the chain of command.
Part 3: Recommend device selection based on workflow, ergonomic and human factors The current
system that we have is not effective for the staff and needs to be upgraded. When choosing a system
for the hospital, we need to make sure it meets the privacy for our patients and is effective for our
staff. When our staff is treating our patients, we need to be mindful of the placement of computers in
patient rooms so staff can easily access them and bring them to a comfortable level for them to
work. These computers need to have the security screen protection covers placed over them so
visitors cannot see the screen as the staff is documenting. I also think we should install the
fingerprint identification to allow fast and easy access to the system, so the staff is able to complete
real time charting and in the event of an emergency they are not trying to type out their password
and forgetting, having this device installed will also ensure that patients are not able to can access to
the computer (Maksimov & Kalkis, 2016).

What is a Great Company?
What makes a great company to work for? Well everybody has their own perspective. It can be pay,
shorter working hours and so on. Whatever the elements are to making a great company to work for,
these are the elements that will benefit both parties. The purpose of this paper is to explain the
benefits of these three elements. It will cover the elements such as welfare, communication and fun,
that will make a great company to work for and how these elements will affect the employees
working for the company which in turn will affect the company's productivity and moral level.
A company that provides welfare will keep morale high. This is because a company that gives out
welfare frequently will play a part in keeping morale level high and motivated. When morale level
are high among the employees, employees will be more productive(bailey,2013). Welfare can be in a
form of monetary reward, health care subsidies, off or lesser working hours. However, if a company
does not provide welfare it will affect the employees causing their morale level to be low. When
employees morale level are low it will create pressure between co–workers to form(Melton,2011)
and anti–social behaviour will start to form which will affect the company. Low morale also affects
the productivity output in a company. Thus having welfare in a company is beneficial.
Another element that makes a good company to work for is fun. When companies promote fun in
the workplace environment, it helps to boost

interface with the current online ordering system, and will generate orders within the system. Once
the order is downloaded into the system, it can be accessed by management or supervisors, and
scanned for input by employees. The bills of lading also function the same way on the receiving end.
The current ordering system allows vendors to send shipment contents electronically, and they can

Experience Certainty : Smart People + Smart Schema
Experience certainty: smart people + smart schema is the antidote to an Analytics data cesspool
By Maureen Peterson and Fred Christian, Analytics consultants
Introduction
Tom Davenport, Director of Research for the International Institute for Analytics, explains the
Analytics 3.0 era for enterprises who are wanting to become data driven.
Analytics 1.0 refers to the era where enterprises use BI to drive reporting and descriptive analytics
based on simple structured data. Analytics 2.0 refers to the emergence of big data (unstructured data)
and technologies like Hadoop. Data scientists emerge that foster experimentation. Visual analytics
gains prominence; however, predictive and prescriptive techniques are still not the main use of ...

Being successful with analytics is about having the right mindset, the right organizational model,
and the right strategy." (Gartner, 2014)
Brent Dykes, a Web Analytics evangelist at Adobe, describes the challenge of navigating analytics
data without proper planning using an analogy of a swimming pool. There is a shallow and a deep
end where there is no gradual slope requiring you to be either a rookie swimmer, or an experienced
scuba diver. There is no in–between.
"It is common for the shallow and deep sections of a real swimming pool to be connected by a
gradual slope. However, too often this sloped section is missing when it comes to how data is shared
at companies. The data is only available in two depths – one for the data novice (1.5 feet) and one
for the data scientist (30 feet) with a steep drop–off between the levels. As interest in data continues
to grow, it is critical to create a better bridge between these depths. Organizations are discovering
there's a wider group of business users who need to explore the data more freely and deeply on their
own. Like my twins, they're eager to venture beyond the shallow end but may not be prepared to
swim on their own in the deep end." (Dykes, The age of data democratization: How to effectively
share data across your business | Bloomberg, 2015)
Dykes also explains how a technology focus is incomplete: "When they see

Dramatic Ironry In O. Henry's Lamb To The Slaughter
Short stories are an exeptional use of literary elements to an audience of all ages. "Lamb to the
Slaugher," by O. Henry, expresses many literary elements such as imagery and dramatic irony. Gift
of the Magi is also an amazing use with foreshadowing and diction. Lamb to the Slaughter uses the
elements better than Gift of the Magi in many different ways, starting with it's precise characters.
Lamb to the slaughter expresses many literary elements, creating a story about Mary Maloney's
experience with her husband. Dramatic irony is a very critical part of the story, especially while
evaluating the situation. "Personally, I think it's right here on the premises. Probably right under our
very noses. What you think Jack? (Roald Dahl 9). She killed her husband with a frozen lamb leg
after discussing troubling news that was never revealed. Mary called the police, who were also her
husband's coworkers. The police never figured out what the weapon was or who killed him. Mary
asked them of a favor to eat the lamb leg cooking in the oven, and the weapon was right under their
noses when they were eating. Additionally, the imagery really helps the most crucial part of the story
come alive. "Mary walked up behind him and without any pause she swung the big frozen leg of
lamb high in the air and brought it down as hard as she could on the back of his head(Roald Dahl 4).
The text could have just said she hit him with a lamb leg, but instead it elaborates and explains how
it happened.

Corporate Culture: The Three Elements Of Corporate Culture
The term corporate culture is a general term to refer to the company's culture in general. Culture
itself is a great topic. To understand the corporate culture, there are three elements of culture that has
been commonly known in public. The first element is the idea or ideas or values, namely the
thoughts that arise from a person, community or nation. This could be values, both in the form of
excavation of the common values that appear in the society. The second element is the action, which
is how one individual or community to think, communicate, act or perform activities of daily–
activity. The third element is the product or the work produced by a person, community or nation.

In building a healthy corporate as well as build a building, the main thing that made construction of
the foundation, the deeper and stronger foundation built, the higher the building can be looming.
Some people sometimes forget the main thing, because it is the nature of the invisible foundation.
Construction of the foundation is sometimes overlooked, yet solid foundation construction requires

On this occasion, discussed something that became the core of the corporation, one of which is the

Fantastical Elements In The Film Pan's Labyrinth
Pan's Labyrinth was an amazing movie with examples of many fantastical elements included. This
movie takes place in Spain, after the Spanish Civil War in 1944. One of the Spanish captains is
oppressing everyone around his village and there is rebels who are attempting to take that power
away from him. Ofelia's mother, Carmen is impregnated by this captain and they are forced to move
into his mill. Here at this mill, Ofelia is faced with many events that most people would consider to
be fake and coming out of her imagination. The natural events that happen here align themselves
with the fantastical elements exhibited throughout the movie. Although many can argue that the
events in the girl's life were in imagination, I feel like for some reason ... Show more content on

For example the chalk that opened the floors and walls and created a door, can be seen by Captain
Vidal. Another thing that can be seen is the big trunk that the faun gives Ofelia to cure her mother,
Captain Vidal sees this and so does Ofelia's mother. These things were given to her for a reason. The
trunk given to Ofelia was given to her for reasons more than just to cure her mother, such as the
perfect timing for her to be ready when the full moon came out. The faun knew that Ofelia was not
going to do anything if her mother didn't get better so he waited until the perfect time to give Ofelia
the cure to her mother's sickness. Ofelia was always about her family first; this was shown
throughout all of the movie for example when her mother stops the car because she is feeling sick,
Ofelia never left her side once they got to the Captains village, and at the end when she did not want
to give the blood of her innocent baby brother and instead her blood was put over the labyrinth.
Another major I believe these things are happening in real life is because even before Ofelia was
introduced, the Labyrinth was shown and the story of the princess who wanted to be a human was
told. Her father was waiting for her and he was an immortal therefore he could not die and wait for
the princess to comeback forever. Although at the ending when Ofelia is talking to the faun and
Vidal doesn't see it, the faun is still real because he knows when the full moon is and he knows
things about human life. The faun can't be from imagination or else he wouldn't know anything
about human life. Another reason that people would say it is imagination is because when Vidal is
following Ofelia in the Labyrinth, the stones divide into half and Ofelia is able to walk right through
but they close right after her and she is suddenly in an

Case Study: Vicky's Assessment Strategy
In the case study Vicky, a school principal that oversees twenty teachers. Recently, the
Superintendent of the school district has restructured the evaluating process for teachers. This new
method requires the principle to evaluate the teacher on 20 different elements. If a score of lower
than 3 is reported, then a reason must be written why from the principle. This method would take
more time from Vicky's schedule. Her plan is to evaluate 5 teachers a year. Each year only grade 5
elements closely and give the rest of the 15 elements a score of 3, or passing.
The critical issue with Vicky's assessment strategy is that the strategy ignores approximately 75% of
the elements deemed necessary to be assess by the district during each evaluation. This data is
incomplete and would be inadmissible as a clear representation of the teacher's actual ability. Vicky
has analyzed only a small percentage of the evaluations recommended by the district. This partial
data would not be usable for the district to analyze. Also, since 75% of the elements are being giving
a base score of the same scoring, the point value is then inflated with no measure of validity. It is
vital for accurate grading to be given in each element. It would be an injustice to allow for the low
scores to not be recorded. A teacher could possibly score lower than a 3 on a category. The teacher
needs to be made aware of the low score so that the teacher can improve. If a teacher was only
graded on five different

Gone Girl By David Fincher
In the way a finger leaves a print specific to the touch of its owner, auteurs stylize elements of their
works so that their creation is definitive enough to be traced back to its creator. In order to identify
these definitive components, an auteur must establish common thematic and formal elements that
their texts typically contain. In David Fincher's film Gone Girl (2014), Amy Dunne suddenly
vanishes, seemingly from violent kidnapping, leaving her husband, Nick Dunne, in a media frenzy
over his suspected involvement in her disappearance. The film utilizes some of his most common
thematic elements: paternal or maternal abandonment during childhood and its influence on
adulthood, the poststructuralist critique of social systems, and ... Show more content on

Amy's mother and father abandoned their hopes of having a daughter that was as successful as they
desired by creating an improved version of Amy in their lucrative children's series, Amazing Amy.
Entrenched in the comparison of her fictitious counterpart, Amy lives her life fooling those around
her to believe she is an enhanced version of herself while silently dwelling on her discovery of
Nick's infidelity. The individuals that Nick and Amy become because of these childhood influences
cause them to comply with another prevalent thematic element: "Fincher's men act, often recklessly,
but his women know (Orgeron et al. 2011)." In this example, Nick's infidelity is his "reckless"
behavior, while Amy's "knowing" is her false appearance of ignorance, but as Orgeron states,
"...behind this static gaze lies a more complete, more complex knowledge of the American family,
its dissolution, its decay." This idea of reckless men and knowing women is also an important
thematic element in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011), Zodiac (2007), and Seven (1995).
Frequently presented in Fincher's films is a poststructuralist critique of one or more social systems
(present in Seven, Fight Club, The Social Network (2010), The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and
Zodiac). In Gone Girl, the two systems under criticism are the judicial system and tv news
broadcasting. Although initially remaining compliant with the policemen that are investigating his

The Value Of An Intermediate Data
The value to be used for updating the estimated value has been chosen as 181 (the value of range of
each subgroup) for the first iteration of the algorithm. The value of an intermediate data has been
taken as the range of each subgroup/ number of subgroup (181/6 = 30.16). That intermediate value
30.16 has been chosen as a change in temperature for the second iteration of algorithm. For third
iteration, the value (30.16/6) 5.02 has been considered as a change in temperature. Similarly for the
next iteration the value has been chosen as (5.02/6) 0.83 and so on. The value encoding is
considered as the data encoding and the (1/estimated error) of the data with the actual data is
considered as a fitness function
Step 2
The least square technique based on linear, exponential, asymptotic, curvilinear and logarithmic
equations has been applied on the available data to produce the estimated data. The error analysis
has been made to produce estimated error. It has been observed that average error based on least
square technique based on linear equation has shown the minimum error (2.25%) as compared to the
other models according to table 2. Therefore least square technique based linear equation has been
chosen as the best known solution.

Magical Realism and the Sublime in The Monkey
Magical Realism and the Sublime in The Monkey
"The Monkey" is a short story written by Isak Dinesen. The story was published in 1934. "The
Monkey" is a form of gothic sublime. In this story, I encountered many elements that related to
magical realism as well as the sublime.
"The Monkey" has many magical elements. The beginning of the story mentioned a purple–eyed
young fallow deer (109). The element appears to me as being a magical element rather than an
element of the sublime. Another magical element was the tortoise being more than one hundred
years old (109). A person knows that no tortoise is capable of living to be more than one hundred
years old. Aunt Cathinka says that she will give Boris her experience of life ... Show more content

According to Longinus, noble imagery is used to convey the sublime. "Her luminous eyes met his,
and made him look away, and this dumb play was repeated twice over." (114). The sublime element
was an element of imagery. The woman and man's attention was caught by each other's appearance
that it took them a while to get back to what they were doing.
Edmund Burke characterized the sublime as causing astonishment. In "The Monkey", Boris said he
could follow his aunts thoughts without looking at her (116). I feel that this element of sublime is
one of astonishment. The fact was so amazing that Boris was so close to his aunt that he could
follow what she was thinking without any sight of her around.
In The Fantastic Sublime, Weiskel describes the sublime as beginning with a contemplated object
that is considered sublime when " the attempt to represent it determines the mind to regard its
inability to grasp wholly the object as a symbol of the mind's relation to a trandscent order." (51).
Sublime literature has many elements that are hard to grasp on to fully. Sublime can be something
that will happen so fast when someone tries to remember what occurred, they cannot.
In The Fantastic Sublime, Weiskel describes the structure of the sublime as divided into three stages.
The first phase is that the mind is determinate, habitual relationship with the contemplated object.
The second phase is experienced by the tearing of a

The Use Of Literary Elements InBlood On The River :...
Can you name any historical fiction author who has written stories with a balance of both historic
education and an intriguing story that hooks you in every time you read their book? One of these
authors is Elisa Carbone, who writes historically accurate books that are intense, interesting, and
touching. One novel that she wrote is entitled "Blood on the River: Jamestown 1607" which is a
suspenseful story in which an orphan from the streets of England in the year 1606, "Samuel Collier"
is shipped to America as an indentured servant of John Smith, who believes they will find fortune in
Virginia. What they found is a nightmare. In order to make books such as these, Carbone uses
powerful, crucial literary elements. One literary element that Carbone uses is perspective, where she
writes in a first person point–of–view as somebody else. She also uses this element to create strong
personal moments between the reader and the main character. An example of this is in one of
Carbone's books, entitled "Blood on the River: Jamestown 1607" where as previously mentioned an
orphan named Samuel Collier lives on the streets of London. Although no one would care to think
for a random urchin living in poverty, Carbone introduces this character with "My feet slap, bare and
cold on the cobblestones" (2). Later in the page, Samuel steals a locket from a pawn shop owner that
originally belonged to his deceased mother and replied with "It was mine because it was hers." This

Literary Analysis Of 'To Homer' By John Keats
Homer had a way of illustrating the natural world in exquisite detail. To him, the irregular shapes
and bold colors that surrounded him told stories only he could fathom. No one could have guessed
that Homer was blind. Every reader makes a choice to either read the top layer of his work and
visualize what their brain desires, or absorb the creativity and stand in the middle of his flamboyant
visions, not realizing that they have been changed forever. John Keats expresses how Homer's
writing had a way of healing his own ignorance, and changing his life from the moment he read it.
Keats writes about how he was most definitely not the same person he was before his exposure to
Homer. The poem, "To Homer" by John Keats explicates the idea that although Homer was
physically blind, he enabled a man blind with ignorance (Keats), to see the world through his
literature.
The first part of the poem explains Keats' ignorance before reading, as well as the greek gods
revealing elements of sky, sea, and land to Homer and then Keats. The first few lines express how
Keats was ignorant because of him not understanding Homer's writing. Later he explains how he has
heard of Homer, and how Homer wants to see, "dolphin–coral in deep seas." The importance of
mentioning coral here is that coral is known for its bright colors and funky shapes, something one
can only witness with their eyes, which Homer wishes he was able to. Then, Keats blatantly
mentions how Homer is blind, but then says, "the

What Are The Five Major Elements Of Data Driven...
Question 1: What forms of data do you use most often to make instructional or other decisions? As a
teacher I use formative and summative data to drive my instruction. As I start with the state standard
for the lesson and plan a formative assessment on that skill before a summative assessment. In years
prior our school district used the platform of Performance Matter to collect data of that grade level
standards three times a year. This type of information set in with Dr. Scott McLeod (20??) essential
concepts. "The five major elements of data–driven instruction are: good baseline, measurable
instructional goals, frequent formative assessment, professional learning communities, and focused
instructional interventions (pp. 1–2, 20??). The assessment gave teachers a baseline, mid–year, and
end year focus. When the teacher delved into the platform each question was broken down each
standard and concept, thus allowing teacher to provide adequate instructional goal to meet the
students' needs. Teachers would also look at past state standardized testing to determine what if any
remediation is needed. As a principal, he/she/I needs to understand the data elements to schedule
necessary people and aid for the professional development communities.

comfortable with exploring different forms of data. As an ESE teacher, I write many Individual

Dramatic Irony In Lamb To The Slaughter
Additionally, the imagery ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other animals are also used, for example, oxen to the slaughter. Gift of the Magi exercises many
literary and DIDLS elements as Della tries to salvage her last pennies to buy a meaningful gift for
her husband, Jim. One of the most vital parts of the story is situational irony. "Della," said he, "let's
put our Christmas gifts away and keep them a while. They're too nice to use now. I sold the watch to
get the money to buy the combs. And now I think we should have our dinner (O. Henry 1). Sadness
is expressed as they come to realize that they both bought gifts that were unable to use the gifts they
received. Della had sold her hair to have enough money to buy a watch for Jim, and she got a comb.
Jim sold his watch to buy the combs for Della, and she bought him a watch. This is considered
situational irony because the situation is reversed. Another important element of Gift of the Magi is
foreshadowing. "The James Dillingham Youngs were very proud of two things which they owned.
One thing was Jim's gold watch. It had once belonged to his father. And, long ago, it had belonged
to his father's father. The other thing was Della's hair." The two most important things to the James
Dillingham Youngś were their hair and watches, which later they sell to make money to buy new
gifts. They both bought each other gifts which they couldn't use, and it most likely took a toll on
their self esteem. This is

Accreditation Audit Task 1
1. Compliance Status
Following rules and regulations is important for institutions and any type of establishment to
maintain organization and most importantly provide safety for those involved. For the organization
and safety of everyone involved, it is important to comply with particular criteria.
Hospitals are one of the many organizations that must comply with regulations to keep patients and
staff safe and as well as maintain the quality of care. Ideally, a good care system for patients
includes medical professionals as well as friends and family to compliment each other in providing
for patient needs. Because patients require care from medical professions in hospitals, there are
provisions that the hospital must follow. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, documenting the completion of a "time out" is met by the Universal Protocol Policy but
also has the added benefit of being stated in the Pre–procedure handout. Upon conduction the
accreditation audit for marking the procedure sites, Nightingale Community Hospital has policies in
place to make sure they are being met.
The final standard under communication is the performance of a "time out" before a procedure.
There are also elements of performance that must be met to be in compliance for this standard. The
first is conducting a "time out" before every procedure. This is met by the Universal Protocol Policy.
The Universal Protocol Policy also meets the next bullet point of standardizing "time out" for
Nightingale Hospital and having them started by an elected team member with the involvement of
team members. The third element of performance is performing a "time out" between a change of
people performing a procedure on a patient. This is unfortunately not met by any protocol in the
information provided by Nightingale Hospital. Having team members agree the correct patient
identity, the correct site, and the correct procedure to be done on a patient is the next element of
performance. The final element of performance is the documentation of "time outs". Though there
are no policies bases on the information given from Nightingale Hospital of "time outs", there is a

Technology And Technology Essay
Effects of Technology Type and Use on Group Performance Rates
Technology has arguably had one of the greatest impacts on our society in the past decade. It has
integrated itself from only a few elements in life to now countless different ways and methods of
usage throughout day to day activities (Lenhart, Purcell, Smith, & Zickuhr, 2010). There has been a
steady increase in technology use not only with teenagers, but also adults. An aspect that is also on
the rise with technology is the use of the internet (Lenhart et al., 2010). Some of the most popular
uses of the internet include online shopping, reading news outlets, researching economic and health
information, social media, and countless other means. Of the variety of uses for the internet, one of
the most common is social networking; almost three–fourths of individuals between the ages of 18–
29 frequently use a social networking website (Lenhart et al., 2010). Whether it is updating a profile
or posting a photo, a common theme between the different forms of social networking and
technology is communication.
More than half of the individuals with a device use social media networks to communicate with
other individuals (Lenhar et al., 2010). These different uses of technology can be conducted on
several different types of devices, however, there are two types of devices that remain highly
popular in society. Among those between the ages of 18–29, approximately 93% of those individuals
own a cell phone. The percent of individuals who own cellphones continues to increase as well and
has more than doubled among young teens in six years (Lenhart et al., 2010). Wireless computers
like laptops have also increased in prevalence and continue to increase in popularity. Laptops are
now a more popular choice compared to desktop computers (Lenhar et al., 2010). Technology,
however, is not only making an impact on how we communicate and interact socially, but also
professionally (Attaran & Attaran, 2001). There have been some major changes in the work
environment by having individuals, instead of working separately, work as a team. Technology is
now being used in the workplace to create more collaborative processes (Attaran & Attaran, 2001).

Stephen King Gothic Elements
Stephen King's The Boogeyman was my favorite piece of gothic literature that we read. I was trying
to figure the story out all the way until the end and had to re–read some of it to fully understand. It
was suspenseful, scary, but also had a good story to listen to. The Boogeyman was full of gloomy
settings, monsters, characters in distress, and intense emotions. These 4 things are just a couple
elements that make up gothic literature.
The first element of gothic literature that I noticed in The Boogeyman was the gloomy setting. The
way the man described his house was chilling. He made it sound cold, haunted, and all around gave
the house a bad vibe. He says, "I heard a noise in there one night. And then she screamed. I opened
the door real quick – the hall light was on – and. . . she was sitting up in the crib crying and. . .
something moved. Back in the shadows, by the closet. Something slithered." Here he is talking
about his own daughter's room and how something was in there and he did nothing. I couldn't
believe that, his own child was in distress and he was too full of pride to admit to his wife that he
wanted to protect or "baby" their child. Her room was described as creepy enough without the
monster. The gloomy setting helps show that this is gothic literature.

A Single Under Cabinet Light
A single under–cabinet light in the kitchen provided all of the light in this part of the house. It was a
small but orderly place – the area around the front door was lower and still slightly damp from when
she had come in. It entered directly into a modest carpeted living area, with carpet and couches on
the right, and a kind of lounge on the left, separated from the kitchen further back by a counter. A
path in the middle lead further towards a narrow hallway, with doors on the left and right, the latter
of which was to the room she had used. There was nothing on the walls besides heavy blue curtains
which hung almost floor to ceiling. The chair she currently occupied was soft, clearly not new but

She evened it out, pushing it out of the window, bringing the temperature of the house down again.
There was something else in another room, the one at the end of the hall.
It was regular – consistent, like a sphere. Soft all the way through. She shuffled further back into the
chair and concentrated. It was consistent on the outside, but inside it was something else, some kind
of element or maze of elements. It was inaccessible, visible only through faint densities rolling
outward from the center, there was some kind of insulation around it. Inside, it was complex, the
heat was moving through the elements in strange paths. It was not arbitrary, there was a pattern – or
patterns – quick, rapid, then pulsed, then broken up, representations of something else. Inside, the
further in she went, the hotter it was, much too hot, it seemed to twist. She tugged at the heat, but it
remained stubborn; the boundaries of its pattern made more clear by her attempts to influence it. It
held at fixtures, remained constant within tolerances. She tugged again, suppressing one of the
strange elements, and the heat reacted, redirected – but the redirection was physical, mechanical, it
was a physical readjustment, not mechanical one. She drew back, and the element returned to its
prior state.
The heat did not flow down, the floor beneath the source was almost as cool as the rest of the house.

The Relationship Between Visual And Verbal Elements
From the beginning there are comparisons, pro and cons, communication channel and important role
about the visual elements. Next would be the relationship visual and verbal elements. The
relationship between the visual and verbal element is a complete mutual. Verbal elements in
advertising are very important when we want people to recognize the product and associate it with
good attributes. In other words, verbal elements may get the most attention getting and memorable
to decide and implement in advertising. The image and text are potentially equal contributors to
meaning, even though the specific examples might give emphasis to one or the other modality.
Visual and verbal information may contain structural and functional elements (MacInnis ... Show

The stakes for evolving cross–modal meaning as a rhetorical move are quite high, because language
alone is not always enough to communicate shared understanding. These personal connections can
support engagement with the text because they help the reader establish a known context for that
engagement. But when an audience does not have the experience to imagine, or when an idea has
not enough features that imagining can fail to present a basic problem with language, as the carrier
of thought, surfaces. That's why the cross modal meaning might be more rhetorically useful. On top
of that, Müller–Brockmann, the father of the grid, championed this idea. He believed that
typography and grid elements should present content in a neutral fashion (as cited in Susan M.hagan
2007). The typographic interplay, on the other hand, identifies the meaning potential between
typographic shape and text. This is because typographic interplay emerges when the characterized
by tie, the blend interacts with the perceptual tie. Also, shared location results in the tightest
relationship between text and image. Blends and shared location might seem to be nearly the same
meaning as another in the

A Study Of Bitopological Spaces
Abstract. In 1995, A.A. Nasef and T. Noiri [6] introduced the notion of strongly
 – irresolute functions. In the present paper, we generalize this notion to the setting of
bitopological spaces and obtain some characterizations and properties of pairwise strongly semi–
preirresolute functions.
AMS Mathematics Subject Classifications (2010): 54E55, 54A05, 54C10, 54D05.
Key words and phrases: semi–preopen, (i, j)–semi–preopen, semi–preirresolute, pairwise strongly
semi–preirresolute.
1. Introduction and preliminaries
The study of bitopological spaces was initiated by Kelly [4] in 1963. Abd ElMonsef et al. [1]
introduced the notion of
 –open sets and
 –continuity in topological spaces. On the other hand, Andrijevic [2] called
 –open sets semipreopen and obtained many properties of such subsets. Recently, Khedr et al. [5]
have investigated the notions of semi–preopen sets and semi–precontinuity in bitopological spaces.
In 1995, Nasef and Noiri [6] defined and studied the concept of strongly
 – irresolute functions. The purpose of the present paper is to extend the concept of strongly  –
irresoluteness to the setting of bitopological spaces.
Throughout the present paper, (X, 1, 2) and (Y, 1, 2) always mean bitopological spaces. For a
subset A of a space X, i–c1(A) (resp. i–int(A)) denotes the closure (resp. interior) of A with
respect to i
, for i = 1,2. However, i–c1(A) and
i–int(A) are briefly denoted by c1i(A) and inti(A), respectively, if there is no possibility of

The Boy In The Striped Pajamas Essay
The Boy in Striped Pajamas is a heartrending film based on Bruno's struggles with friends, family,
and a new home. Bruno, a young boy who is the son of a Nazi soldier, faces multiple troublesome
situations. Even through Bruno's struggles, the film supports a major theme of friendship. In this
movie, Bruno and Shmuel strike an unlikely friendship that would ultimately be life changing. The
movie makes it clear that friendship can break all boundaries. The Boy in Striped Pajamas
effectively uses the elements of sound, costuming, lighting, and dialogue to support the theme of

Lighting is used multiple times throughout the film to support the theme of friendship. The first
example of lighting is present in the opening scenes of the movie. As Bruno and his friends are
playfully running through the streets of Berlin, the sun is shining and the picture is bright. In
contrast, Bruno's home when he finds out that his family is moving is dark and gloomy. Once again,
the director uses the lighting to display Bruno's emotions. When Bruno is with his friends, the
shining light indicates his happiness. However, when Bruno discovers that he is leaving his friends,
the dark lighting displays Bruno's dismal feeling. Similarly, the same concepts are used in the later
stages of the film. As Bruno wanders into the backyard, he finds the shed with a window, a possible
route to the "farm". As Bruno looks up at the window, the light shining through the open window is
vibrant. This bright light represents Bruno's escape from this place without friends to the farm where
friendship surely awaits him. Finally, the director uses lighting in scenes with both Bruno and
Shmuel to show their friendship. In scenes where Bruno and Shmuel are together, the lighting is
bright, once again representing the friendship between the two, along with Bruno's happiness in this
friendship. However, in the closing scenes of the movie, the lighting while Bruno and Shmuel are
together becomes

Visual Communication : Emanuele Dascanio
Vision is a crucial aspect of human existence, and the way that it enables them to understand the
world is even more crucial. The human ability to see can influence beliefs if one is to take a step
back and examine vision as a whole. This can be done easily with artwork as the messages that
artists send are powerful due to the fact that interpretations of meaning depend on the beliefs and
attitudes of the specific individual. One artist, Emanuele Dascanio, is an artist whose work
demonstrates numerous aspects of visual communication. The works are intriguing because of the
hyperrealistic feel they embody. There is a pull and desire for one to engage with the works because
they are not abstract pieces but extremely real and detailed ones. While many people may strongly
appreciate the talent of Dascanio's work, few take time to consider the reasons that people react the
way they do to them. The reason for such a strong connection between both drawing and viewer
comes from all of the elements that come together to compose the image.
The connection that people feel to Dascanio's work is a powerful one since his drawings are the
extremely captivating. This is not solely because of the pure talent put into each piece, but the
numerous qualities depicted within each work. Each piece of artwork is an icon, which according to
Arthur Asa Berger, "is a sign that looks like or resembles the thing it stands for" (How, 1998). By

The Elements Of Screenwriting
INTRODUCTION:
Film scriptwriting, also known as screenwriting, is a unique process or technique of presenting each
detail including the visuals of the scenes or any other related elements by compiling them into a
written form. To write a particular film script, the scriptwriters have to take account of the elements
in screenwriting to produce a good fulfilled script. Even though writing a film script depends on the
genre chosen, the elements in it will not change. Each element in the structures plays an important
role in order for the scriptwriters to produce as well as to sell their script to the filmmakers.
Blacker (1986) listed that, "Plot– The ordering and selection of scenes to tell a story and affect an
audience. Character– The particulars ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Blacker (1986) wrote, "A character in a film is a representation of a person exhibiting certain
personality traits selected for a dramatic purpose." (The Elements of Screenwriting, p. 35). In a film,
the characters exist to drive the story forward, to build tension within the story as they are about to
bring the viewers into it. The scriptwriter will establish the characters which fit in the story, and the
most vital characters are the protagonist and the antagonist. The central character or the protagonist
who is decorated with special strong points has to endure and overcome such obstacles, or has a goal
they want to reach in their life which will become the storyline the scriptwriter wanting to express.
Opposite to the protagonist is the antagonist who is associated with malevolent behaviours or plans
to create misery, to wreck or to mess up with the protagonist's life. It is important for the scriptwriter
to introduce each character in their film script without making the description too broad or too
specific. For an example, in 1969's film, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, William Goldman
had smoothly introduced a girl moving up behind Butch; its simple line of "She is reasonably pretty,
a little used." is enough to create an immediate impression of the

Politics In Allen Guelzo's House Divided
The first of the two sources to be examined here is Allen Guelzo's House Divided: Lincoln,
Douglas, and the Political Landscape of 1858. This source took a more technical examination of not
just the speeches and overall influence of Lincoln during this time, but also on where politics stood
around the middle of the nineteenth century. To begin with, this source took a more critical
examination at the Lincoln–Douglas race from the perspective of the complex political situation that
was inherent during this time. That is to say, the campaigns that were waged were not merely about
how viable each candidate was for office, but rather the philosophical differences between these
individuals and many others, according to the source. This means that the source was able to take a

the text, is a floor mosaic which is composed of many colored tesserae that were laid down in
irregular, curving lines, which effectively imitated painted brushstrokes. The individual tiles are
more apparent when viewed closely. This gives the piece a grainy and earthy texture, where it
physically looks bumpy. The textbook says it has foreshortening, the illusion created on a flat
surface in which figures and objects appear to recede or project sharply into space. The second piece
was drawn with tempera on parchment. This makes the piece look smooth, flat, and two

green that frames the boulder that the male centaur is holding. The rocky scenery has browns and
creams with a dull green and brown center. A bright green patch of pine trees is in the corner that
contrasts with the sky and rocks. The colors to the second piece are similar in the sense that it has

Analysis Of Fernand Leger's 'The Divers'
With most of the 20 elements and principles evident in the painting The Divers (Red and Black) by
Fernand Leger, we can achieve a better understanding and cohesiveness of this piece. Additionally,
alongside with his other paintings, the medium used for this painting was also oil on canvas. In this
painting, Leger incorporates a specific style called Cubism and incorporates a strong simple
imagery. The artist's personal style consists of bold use of color while combining his art as
something that everyone can enjoy. A brief formal analysis of this painting will show us how he
used the main principle of emphasis to showcase the characteristics of the human body progressing
in space. In order to demonstrate these specific characteristics, Leger incorporates many different
types of elements into this piece. In this painting, color plays an important role. The shapes of the
blue squares contrast altogether with the other shapes and also, with the mutated beige background.
Leger uses numerous colors such as the neon yellow, red, blue, black, and green in order to reveal
that the colors are free and therefore, these colors exist in space. As mentioned earlier, this painting
included a variety of different shapes; there are two different types of shape that can be seen in this
painting. The first type is geometric or regular shapes such as the squares, circles, and rectangles.
The second, on the other hand, are organic and freeform shapes such as the feet, hands, and face.
Next, Leger incorporates many lines throughout this portrait. From curved lines to a single
horizontal line, Leger includes each different type to develop a sense of movement, or rhythm. The
curved lines makes the viewer's eyes circle around the piece to further realize the symbolism. For
space, Leger leaves many of the corner as negative space. However, the corners of this painting are

My Identity Essay
My identity can be summarized by six key elements. Each element has helped shape me into the
person I am today. Every decision and action I have made can be linked to the elements of my
identity. Although there are many elements that can be found in my identity, my appearance and
religion, along with being a Nebraskan, family member, student, and athlete, are the primary
contributions to my identity. The first element of my identity starts externally with my appearance.
Throughout my life, the first thing people notice about me is my blonde hair. My hair is naturally
blonde and is so light that people like to question if it is my real hair color. Being a blonde is a big
part of my appearance, but my height also plays a role in my appearance. I have always been
targeted by others because of my height. My tall height has caused me to stand out in a crowd. This
extra attention has caused me to become self–conscious, but has taught me to embrace my height
and all of my flaws. Being "that tall, blonde girl" has contributed to who I am and how I identify
myself externally, but my religion plays a big role in my internal identity. Being a Christian has
shaped my identity by establishing my core values. Exhibiting good morals was established in my
childhood and I have stood by these continuously. I have learned that there are difficult challenges
throughout life, but I can overcome these challenges with God. My religion has taught me to be
blessed for everything in my life

Healthcare Data Essay
A. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each of the following categories of healthcare data:
1. aggregate data 2. comparative data 3. patient–centric data When it comes to reviewing healthcare
data there are certain data categories an organization needs to keep in mind, those categories include
aggregate data, comparative data, and patient–centric data. All of the categories have advantages and
disadvantages. In the following paragraphs I will list out the advantage and disadvantages of the
categories mentioned above. First, let us start with aggregate data. Aggregate data can be used to
detect patterns or similarities from numerous groups of patients. This data helps healthcare
organizations and healthcare providers develop a plan of care or prevention of illnesses and a better
understanding of how to properly manage a disease process. With the use of aggregate data, vital
signs and other lab work can be tracked on a daily basis and if there is a need for a different dose or
type of medication, it can be caught early and corrected. A disadvantage of aggregate data would be
that there is underlying factors that is not disclosed and because of the underlying factors, the data
gathered is not beneficial when it comes to treating the patient. Therefore, the patient can suffer
from a specific event that was not treated properly. Next, let us discuss comparative data.
Comparative data can be defined as data that can be used for

The Hitchhiker Plot Analysis
The Hitchhiker plot In most ghost stories, there suspenseful, scary, and thrilling, and which are all
elements that most people find enjoyable. In Lucille Fletcher's the Hitchhiker, a man had a sudden
urge to go on a journey, but this wasn't your average journey. On the other hand, Ronald Adams

drives him insane. She uses exposition, climax, and resolution as the plot elements, they play a big
role with each other to make this play effective. Fletchers uses exposition to create this suspenseful
play that everyone would like. To begin with Fletchers development of the suspense is the
exposition. The hitchhiker stated "I left Brooklyn to drive to California" (1001). This is the start of
the exposition that shows how this story started and where the setting will mostly take place, these
were the roots of the play to get the suspense going. The Second way is when the ... Show more

Nietzsche And The Birth Of Tragedy Austin Tierney Thompson 4970 05–06–2018 Nietzsche and The Birth of Tragedy To argue that Birth of Tragedy has a central claim; "theory is created at the expense of art", is to attempt to reduce its offerings to an oversimplification of a single thematic component. A central claim is the result of a complete and settled debate within defined parameters. This is true even if this settlement; subsequently, proves merely temporary. To be central is to exist at a single point between the outer parameters of phenomena which must be known or at least defined and agreed upon. There is no single central claim that could conceivably be presented as a reference point offering access to anything like a comprehensive insight to all that this work contains. That " theory is created at the expense of art " is certainly a discernible assertion made by Nietzsche. One possible mode of discernment is offered by the author himself via a comment he makes on another great work on which so many have differing views and approaches; Hamlet:We find the same thing in Shakespeare, whose Hamlet, for example likewise speaks more superficially than he acts, so the lesson of Hamlet, which we have already mentioned, is to be found not in the words themselves but in a profound contemplation and survey of the play as a whole"To gain access to Birth of Tragedy, to define its claims and to locate their relationship we must not, of course, ignore the actual text but we certainly need to be mindful of more than that which is simply being said and to be willing to consider and take in to account; the intent of the author in publishing this work, the discernable premises and meanings inherent in its ... Although it sounds like a simple changing features activity, testing is a big challenge that often involves teams such as marketers, designers, researchers, and analysts, which makes the testing process even harder. The risk of failure on the experiment is higher when the test is built based on the team's insights only and not on the users' point of view. However, it is important to try different types of testing to uncover possible root causes of a drop in the website traffic and make wise decisions to fix it. Most of the time it requires resources that are already available at the company. In addition, it is important to choose relevant pages or element for the measurements and changes. Avinash also states that there must be big changes on the version A and B of the website, so that we can observe changes in conversions and outcome (Web Analytics, 2010, 209). A/B test has been described as the best technique to start a testing journey, nevertheless frequently relying on A/B test results could also mean that the changes are slowly impacting the traffic. Multivariate test Unlike in A/B test, in multivariate test we use more than one element at the same time. The first task is to identify the critical elements to be optimized. After that we will create two or more versions of each element. For example, using multivariate test to decide whether the picture on the landing page is bringing traffic or not, and where it looks more attractive on the page we can at least design three different versions: One with the picture on the right side, one with the picture on the left side, and another one with no picture at all. Multivariate test requires javaScript implementation from the testing tool; therefore each of the elements on the test would have a tag around, and the alternatives would be uploaded into the testing tool (google website optimizer). This led to the two characters in this scene disregarding their previous dreams and their family to create their own dream to pursue. During the process of creating this performance, we also learnt about the importance of the Stanislavski method and how it can ameliorate the performer's actions and dialogue. Part 1: Recommend elements included in the design of audit trails and data quality monitoring programs With today's advancement in technology, most hospitals have developed a data security plan to ensure that patient data is being handled correctly and is only viewed by authorized personnel. Hospitals can keep unauthorized personnel from viewing patient information by setting up individual passwords (Wager, Lee, & Glaser, 2013) only allowing those employees to view the patient's information for them to complete their job task. One of the ways we can achieve this is by making sure the software that we have is only accessible by the staff from audit department and not our normal hospital employees (Loshin, 2011). The software also needs to be designed that once the data has been retrieved for an audit, it can no longer be changed unless it is approved through the chain of command. Part 3: Recommend device selection based on workflow, ergonomic and human factors The current system that we have is not effective for the staff and needs to be upgraded. When choosing a system for the hospital, we need to make sure it meets the privacy for our patients and is effective for our staff. When our staff is treating our patients, we need to be mindful of the placement of computers in patient rooms so staff can easily access them and bring them to a comfortable level for them to work. These computers need to have the security screen protection covers placed over them so visitors cannot see the screen as the staff is documenting. I also think we should install the fingerprint identification to allow fast and easy access to the system, so the staff is able to complete real time charting and in the event of an emergency they are not trying to type out their password and forgetting, having this device installed will also ensure that patients are not able to can access to the computer (Maksimov & Kalkis, 2016). ... Whatever the elements are to making a great company to work for, these are the elements that will benefit both parties. The purpose of this paper is to explain the benefits of these three elements. It will cover the elements such as welfare, communication and fun, that will make a great company to work for and how these elements will affect the employees working for the company which in turn will affect the company's productivity and moral level. A company that provides welfare will keep morale high. This is because a company that gives out welfare frequently will play a part in keeping morale level high and motivated. When morale level are high among the employees, employees will be more productive(bailey,2013). Welfare can be in a form of monetary reward, health care subsidies, off or lesser working hours. However, if a company does not provide welfare it will affect the employees causing their morale level to be low. When employees morale level are low it will create pressure between co–workers to form(Melton,2011) and anti–social behaviour will start to form which will affect the company. Low morale also affects the productivity output in a company. Thus having welfare in a company is beneficial. Another element that makes a good company to work for is fun. Being successful with analytics is about having the right mindset, the right organizational model, and the right strategy." (Gartner, 2014) Brent Dykes, a Web Analytics evangelist at Adobe, describes the challenge of navigating analytics data without proper planning using an analogy of a swimming pool. There is a shallow and a deep end where there is no gradual slope requiring you to be either a rookie swimmer, or an experienced scuba diver. There is no in–between. "It is common for the shallow and deep sections of a real swimming pool to be connected by a gradual slope. However, too often this sloped section is missing when it comes to how data is shared at companies. The data is only available in two depths – one for the data novice (1.5 feet) and one for the data scientist (30 feet) with a steep drop–off between the levels. As interest in data continues to grow, it is critical to create a better bridge between these depths. Organizations are discovering there's a wider group of business users who need to explore the data more freely and deeply on their own. Like my twins, they're eager to venture beyond the shallow end but may not be prepared to swim on their own in the deep end." Henry, expresses many literary elements such as imagery and dramatic irony. Gift of the Magi is also an amazing use with foreshadowing and diction. Lamb to the Slaughter uses the elements better than Gift of the Magi in many different ways, starting with it's precise characters. Lamb to the slaughter expresses many literary elements, creating a story about Mary Maloney's experience with her husband. Dramatic irony is a very critical part of the story, especially while evaluating the situation. "Personally, I think it's right here on the premises. Probably right under our very noses. What you think Jack? (Roald Dahl 9). She killed her husband with a frozen lamb leg after discussing troubling news that was never revealed. Mary called the police, who were also her husband's coworkers. The police never figured out what the weapon was or who killed him. Mary asked them of a favor to eat the lamb leg cooking in the oven, and the weapon was right under their noses when they were eating. Additionally, the imagery really helps the most crucial part of the story come alive. "Mary walked up behind him and without any pause she swung the big frozen leg of lamb high in the air and brought it down as hard as she could on the back of his head(Roald Dahl 4). The text could have just said she hit him with a lamb leg, but instead it elaborates and explains how it happened. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The trunk given to Ofelia was given to her for reasons more than just to cure her mother, such as the perfect timing for her to be ready when the full moon came out. The faun knew that Ofelia was not going to do anything if her mother didn't get better so he waited until the perfect time to give Ofelia the cure to her mother's sickness. Ofelia was always about her family first; this was shown throughout all of the movie for example when her mother stops the car because she is feeling sick, Ofelia never left her side once they got to the Captains village, and at the end when she did not want to give the blood of her innocent baby brother and instead her blood was put over the labyrinth. Another major I believe these things are happening in real life is because even before Ofelia was introduced, the Labyrinth was shown and the story of the princess who wanted to be a human was told. Her father was waiting for her and he was an immortal therefore he could not die and wait for the princess to comeback forever. Although at the ending when Ofelia is talking to the faun and Vidal doesn't see it, the faun is still real because he knows when the full moon is and he knows things about human life. The faun can't be from imagination or else he wouldn't know anything about human life. Recently, the Superintendent of the school district has restructured the evaluating process for teachers. This new method requires the principle to evaluate the teacher on 20 different elements. If a score of lower than 3 is reported, then a reason must be written why from the principle. This method would take more time from Vicky's schedule. Her plan is to evaluate 5 teachers a year. Each year only grade 5 elements closely and give the rest of the 15 elements a score of 3, or passing. The critical issue with Vicky's assessment strategy is that the strategy ignores approximately 75% of the elements deemed necessary to be assess by the district during each evaluation. This data is incomplete and would be inadmissible as a clear representation of the teacher's actual ability. Vicky has analyzed only a small percentage of the evaluations recommended by the district. This partial data would not be usable for the district to analyze. Also, since 75% of the elements are being giving a base score of the same scoring, the point value is then inflated with no measure of validity. It is vital for accurate grading to be given in each element. It would be an injustice to allow for the low scores to not be recorded. A teacher could possibly score lower than a 3 on a category. The teacher needs to be made aware of the low score so that the teacher can improve. If a teacher was only graded on five different ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In David Fincher's film Gone Girl (2014), Amy Dunne suddenly vanishes, seemingly from violent kidnapping, leaving her husband, Nick Dunne, in a media frenzy over his suspected involvement in her disappearance. Entrenched in the comparison of her fictitious counterpart, Amy lives her life fooling those around her to believe she is an enhanced version of herself while silently dwelling on her discovery of Nick's infidelity. The individuals that Nick and Amy become because of these childhood influences cause them to comply with another prevalent thematic element: "Fincher's men act, often recklessly, but his women know (Orgeron et al. 2011)." In this example, Nick's infidelity is his "reckless" behavior, while Amy's "knowing" is her false appearance of ignorance, but as Orgeron states, "...behind this static gaze lies a more complete, more complex knowledge of the American family, its dissolution, its decay." This idea of reckless men and knowing women is also an important thematic element in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011), Zodiac (2007), and Seven (1995). Frequently presented in Fincher's films is a poststructuralist critique of one or more social systems (present in Seven, Fight Club, The Social Network (2010), The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and Zodiac). • 18. The Use Of Literary Elements InBlood On The River :... Can you name any historical fiction author who has written stories with a balance of both historic education and an intriguing story that hooks you in every time you read their book? One of these authors is Elisa Carbone, who writes historically accurate books that are intense, interesting, and touching. One novel that she wrote is entitled "Blood on the River: Jamestown 1607" which is a suspenseful story in which an orphan from the streets of England in the year 1606, "Samuel Collier" is shipped to America as an indentured servant of John Smith, who believes they will find fortune in Virginia. What they found is a nightmare. In order to make books such as these, Carbone uses powerful, crucial literary elements. One literary element that Carbone uses is perspective, where she writes in a first person point–of–view as somebody else. She also uses this element to create strong personal moments between the reader and the main character. An example of this is in one of Carbone's books, entitled "Blood on the River: Jamestown 1607" where as previously mentioned an orphan named Samuel Collier lives on the streets of London. Although no one would care to think for a random urchin living in poverty, Carbone introduces this character with "My feet slap, bare and cold on the cobblestones" (2). To him, the irregular shapes and bold colors that surrounded him told stories only he could fathom. No one could have guessed that Homer was blind. Every reader makes a choice to either read the top layer of his work and visualize what their brain desires, or absorb the creativity and stand in the middle of his flamboyant visions, not realizing that they have been changed forever. John Keats expresses how Homer's writing had a way of healing his own ignorance, and changing his life from the moment he read it. Keats writes about how he was most definitely not the same person he was before his exposure to Homer. The poem, "To Homer" by John Keats explicates the idea that although Homer was physically blind, he enabled a man blind with ignorance (Keats), to see the world through his literature. The first part of the poem explains Keats' ignorance before reading, as well as the greek gods revealing elements of sky, sea, and land to Homer and then Keats. The first few lines express how Keats was ignorant because of him not understanding Homer's writing. Later he explains how he has heard of Homer, and how Homer wants to see, "dolphin–coral in deep seas." The importance of mentioning coral here is that coral is known for its bright colors and funky shapes, something one can only witness with their eyes, which Homer wishes he was able to. As a teacher I use formative and summative data to drive my instruction. As I start with the state standard for the lesson and plan a formative assessment on that skill before a summative assessment. In years prior our school district used the platform of Performance Matter to collect data of that grade level standards three times a year. This type of information set in with Dr. Scott McLeod (20??) essential concepts. "The five major elements of data–driven instruction are: good baseline, measurable instructional goals, frequent formative assessment, professional learning communities, and focused instructional interventions (pp. 1–2, 20??). The assessment gave teachers a baseline, mid–year, and end year focus. When the teacher delved into the platform each question was broken down each standard and concept, thus allowing teacher to provide adequate instructional goal to meet the students' needs. Teachers would also look at past state standardized testing to determine what if any remediation is needed. Gift of the Magi exercises many literary and DIDLS elements as Della tries to salvage her last pennies to buy a meaningful gift for her husband, Jim. One of the most vital parts of the story is situational irony. "Della," said he, "let's put our Christmas gifts away and keep them a while. They're too nice to use now. I sold the watch to get the money to buy the combs. And now I think we should have our dinner (O. Henry 1). Sadness is expressed as they come to realize that they both bought gifts that were unable to use the gifts they received. Della had sold her hair to have enough money to buy a watch for Jim, and she got a comb. Jim sold his watch to buy the combs for Della, and she bought him a watch. This is considered situational irony because the situation is reversed. Another important element of Gift of the Magi is foreshadowing. "The James Dillingham Youngs were very proud of two things which they owned. One thing was Jim's gold watch. It had once belonged to his father. And, long ago, it had belonged to his father's father. The other thing was Della's hair." The final standard under communication is the performance of a "time out" before a procedure. There are also elements of performance that must be met to be in compliance for this standard. The first is conducting a "time out" before every procedure. This is met by the Universal Protocol Policy. • 24. Technology And Technology Essay Effects of Technology Type and Use on Group Performance Rates Technology has arguably had one of the greatest impacts on our society in the past decade. It has integrated itself from only a few elements in life to now countless different ways and methods of usage throughout day to day activities (Lenhart, Purcell, Smith, & Zickuhr, 2010). There has been a steady increase in technology use not only with teenagers, but also adults. An aspect that is also on the rise with technology is the use of the internet (Lenhart et al., 2010). Some of the most popular uses of the internet include online shopping, reading news outlets, researching economic and health information, social media, and countless other means. Of the variety of uses for the internet, one of the most common is social networking; almost three–fourths of individuals between the ages of 18– 29 frequently use a social networking website (Lenhart et al., 2010). Whether it is updating a profile or posting a photo, a common theme between the different forms of social networking and technology is communication. More than half of the individuals with a device use social media networks to communicate with other individuals (Lenhar et al., 2010). These different uses of technology can be conducted on several different types of devices, however, there are two types of devices that remain highly popular in society. Among those between the ages of 18–29, approximately 93% of those individuals own a cell phone. The percent of individuals who own cellphones continues to increase as well and has more than doubled among young teens in six years (Lenhart et al., 2010). Wireless computers like laptops have also increased in prevalence and continue to increase in popularity. Laptops are now a more popular choice compared to desktop computers (Lenhar et al., 2010). Technology, however, is not only making an impact on how we communicate and interact socially, but also professionally (Attaran & Attaran, 2001). There have been some major changes in the work environment by having individuals, instead of working separately, work as a team. Technology is now being used in the workplace to create more collaborative processes (Attaran & Attaran, 2001). Electronic devices are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I was trying to figure the story out all the way until the end and had to re–read some of it to fully understand. It was suspenseful, scary, but also had a good story to listen to. The Boogeyman was full of gloomy settings, monsters, characters in distress, and intense emotions. These 4 things are just a couple elements that make up gothic literature. The first element of gothic literature that I noticed in The Boogeyman was the gloomy setting. The way the man described his house was chilling. He made it sound cold, haunted, and all around gave the house a bad vibe. He says, "I heard a noise in there one night. And then she screamed. I opened the door real quick – the hall light was on – and. . . she was sitting up in the crib crying and. . . something moved. Back in the shadows, by the closet. Something slithered." Here he is talking about his own daughter's room and how something was in there and he did nothing. I couldn't believe that, his own child was in distress and he was too full of pride to admit to his wife that he wanted to protect or "baby" their child. Her room was described as creepy enough without the monster. The gloomy setting helps show that this is gothic literature. In other words, verbal elements may get the most attention getting and memorable to decide and implement in advertising. The stakes for evolving cross–modal meaning as a rhetorical move are quite high, because language alone is not always enough to communicate shared understanding. These personal connections can support engagement with the text because they help the reader establish a known context for that engagement. But when an audience does not have the experience to imagine, or when an idea has not enough features that imagining can fail to present a basic problem with language, as the carrier of thought, surfaces. That's why the cross modal meaning might be more rhetorically useful. On top of that, Müller–Brockmann, the father of the grid, championed this idea. He believed that typography and grid elements should present content in a neutral fashion (as cited in Susan M.hagan 2007). The typographic interplay, on the other hand, identifies the meaning potential between typographic shape and text. This is because typographic interplay emerges when the characterized by tie, the blend interacts with the perceptual tie. AMS Mathematics Subject Classifications (2010): 54E55, 54A05, 54C10, 54D05. Key words and phrases: semi–preopen, (i, j)–semi–preopen, semi–preirresolute, pairwise strongly semi–preirresolute. 1. Introduction and preliminaries The study of bitopological spaces was initiated by Kelly [4] in 1963. Abd ElMonsef et al. [1] introduced the notion of  –open sets and  –continuity in topological spaces. On the other hand, Andrijevic [2] called  –open sets semipreopen and obtained many properties of such subsets. Recently, Khedr et al. [5] have investigated the notions of semi–preopen sets and semi–precontinuity in bitopological spaces. In 1995, Nasef and Noiri [6] defined and studied the concept of strongly  – irresolute functions. The purpose of the present paper is to extend the concept of strongly  – irresoluteness to the setting of bitopological spaces. • 32. Visual Communication : Emanuele Dascanio Vision is a crucial aspect of human existence, and the way that it enables them to understand the world is even more crucial. The human ability to see can influence beliefs if one is to take a step back and examine vision as a whole. This can be done easily with artwork as the messages that artists send are powerful due to the fact that interpretations of meaning depend on the beliefs and attitudes of the specific individual. One artist, Emanuele Dascanio, is an artist whose work demonstrates numerous aspects of visual communication. The works are intriguing because of the hyperrealistic feel they embody. There is a pull and desire for one to engage with the works because they are not abstract pieces but extremely real and detailed ones. While many people may strongly appreciate the talent of Dascanio's work, few take time to consider the reasons that people react the way they do to them. The reason for such a strong connection between both drawing and viewer comes from all of the elements that come together to compose the image. The connection that people feel to Dascanio's work is a powerful one since his drawings are the extremely captivating. This is not solely because of the pure talent put into each piece, but the numerous qualities depicted within each work. Each piece of artwork is an icon, which according to Arthur Asa Berger, "is a sign that looks like or resembles the thing it stands for" (How, 1998). By looking at Dascanio's drawings, even for a ... The Elements Of Screenwriting INTRODUCTION: Film scriptwriting, also known as screenwriting, is a unique process or technique of presenting each detail including the visuals of the scenes or any other related elements by compiling them into a written form. To write a particular film script, the scriptwriters have to take account of the elements in screenwriting to produce a good fulfilled script. Even though writing a film script depends on the genre chosen, the elements in it will not change. Each element in the structures plays an important role in order for the scriptwriters to produce as well as to sell their script to the filmmakers. Blacker (1986) wrote, "A character in a film is a representation of a person exhibiting certain personality traits selected for a dramatic purpose." (The Elements of Screenwriting, p. 35). In a film, the characters exist to drive the story forward, to build tension within the story as they are about to bring the viewers into it. The scriptwriter will establish the characters which fit in the story, and the most vital characters are the protagonist and the antagonist. The central character or the protagonist who is decorated with special strong points has to endure and overcome such obstacles, or has a goal they want to reach in their life which will become the storyline the scriptwriter wanting to express. Opposite to the protagonist is the antagonist who is associated with malevolent behaviours or plans to create misery, to wreck or to mess up with the protagonist's life. It is important for the scriptwriter to introduce each character in their film script without making the description too broad or too specific. For an example, in 1969's film, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, William Goldman had smoothly introduced a girl moving up behind Butch; its simple line of "She is reasonably pretty, a little used." is enough to create an immediate impression of the ... To begin with, this source took a more critical examination at the Lincoln–Douglas race from the perspective of the complex political situation that was inherent during this time. The individual tiles are more apparent when viewed closely. This gives the piece a grainy and earthy texture, where it physically looks bumpy. The textbook says it has foreshortening, the illusion created on a flat surface in which figures and objects appear to recede or project sharply into space. Analysis Of Fernand Leger's 'The Divers' With most of the 20 elements and principles evident in the painting The Divers (Red and Black) by Fernand Leger, we can achieve a better understanding and cohesiveness of this piece. Additionally, alongside with his other paintings, the medium used for this painting was also oil on canvas. In this painting, Leger incorporates a specific style called Cubism and incorporates a strong simple imagery. The artist's personal style consists of bold use of color while combining his art as something that everyone can enjoy. A brief formal analysis of this painting will show us how he used the main principle of emphasis to showcase the characteristics of the human body progressing in space. In order to demonstrate these specific characteristics, Leger incorporates many different types of elements into this piece. In this painting, color plays an important role. The shapes of the blue squares contrast altogether with the other shapes and also, with the mutated beige background. Leger uses numerous colors such as the neon yellow, red, blue, black, and green in order to reveal that the colors are free and therefore, these colors exist in space. As mentioned earlier, this painting included a variety of different shapes; there are two different types of shape that can be seen in this painting. The first type is geometric or regular shapes such as the squares, circles, and rectangles. The second, on the other hand, are organic and freeform shapes such as the feet, hands, and face. Next, Leger incorporates many lines throughout this portrait. From curved lines to a single horizontal line, Leger includes each different type to develop a sense of movement, or rhythm. The curved lines makes the viewer's eyes circle around the piece to further realize the symbolism. For space, Leger leaves many of the corner as negative space. However, the corners of this painting are not the only ones Leger leaves as space. Because the shapes and colors are kept simple, there's also quite a series of distance between the shapes even throughout the whole entire painting. Again, because of the simplicity of the shapes, even the texture of this painting can be seen as smooth. The painting does not involve any harsh or rugged lines, and is ...
