Conservatives vs. Liberals
Conservatives vs. Liberals Conservatives are very supportive for individuals that are in the higher
class, while liberals support the lower class individuals in society. Conservatives and Liberals have
completely different views from one another. I personally favor liberalist views due to the fact they
favor equality within our society. While conservatives feel as though within a society everyone should
be responsible for themselves they don t believe in aid to mankind. In our society we can achieve and
do so much more if everyone as a whole worked together and cared about the individual next to them.
The world that we live in today would but much stronger, there would be less poverty and more
equality in the working class. Due ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

believe that every American have the ability to get healthcare, just who will pay for it. Liberalists are

Constellations In The Northern Hemisphere
THE NORTHERN HEMISPHERE CONSTELLATIONS
The constellations in the Northern hemisphere that I chose to observe are: Sagittarius, Scorpius,
Hercules, Aquila and Ophiuchus.
The constellations have been used for quite a few things like navigation, agriculture and used to
predicted the seasons and more. The many two that the ancient people used the constellations for were
navigation and agriculture. The ancient Greeks and Romans used the North Star called Polaris just by
looking at how high Polaris appeared in the sky at night. This allows them to sail the ships across the
seas and to let them know where they are in the sea. The European also used the constellations to sail
across the sea for the discovery of America and the spread of European ... Show more content on

I observe tried Scorpius with my own eyes but I could not find it so I used my telescope to find it and
observe it. The best time to see the Scorpius is in the evening around 8:45pm. According to what my
telescope information it said that is due to the fact that we are looking in the direction close to the
center of our galaxy. I observe many stars in this area, and it is unfortunate for us in northern
hemisphere that the observing season for this constellation is cut short both by the brief summer
evenings.
The constellation of Hercules is one of the original 48 constellations plotted by 2nd century
astrophysicist Ptolemy and remains today as one of the modern 88 constellations. I did not observe the
Hercules constellation. My telescope pointed in the direction of the constellation but it was to faint for
me to see it. The info from the telescope said the best time to observe is in the middle of May.
Hercules is large and ranks as the 5th largest of all, across a remarkable 1225 square degrees of

Patents And The Patent Act Of 1952
Patents Patents are government granted, temporary rights to exclude, awarded in return for an
individual s disclosure of a new useful invention. Patents are granted by the USPTO and last for
nonrenewable term of 20 years (Ferrera et al, 2012). Patents grant exclusive rights to exclude others
from engaging in making, using, selling of patent products (O reilly, 2007). Online businesses must be
aware of other s patent rights even if they do not copy other companies business methods or
technologies. XYZ Technologies must perform adequate research before developing and promoting
any new software products. Business may search both issued patents and published application at the
USPTO website as well as via Google s patent search tool (Ferrera et al., 2012).
According to the Patent Act of 1952, patent may only be granted for inventions that are within the
scope of patentable subject matter, useful, new, nonobvious and enabled (Ferrera et al., 2012). There
are subject matters that are not patentable such as laws of nature, physical phenomena and abstract
ideas. To be considered new, at least the person pursuing the patent be the person who invented it and
must not have copied it from others (Ferrera, et al., 2012). To check novelty, prior art is review. Prior
art is existing patents, publications, or knowledge (Ferrera, et al., 2012). Additionally, an invention can
be patentable if the level of ordinary is low. There are expenses that go with obtaining and maintaining

I Found Myself at Wrestling Camp Essay
Most girls don t pay money to roll around on the ground with sweaty guys. Yet that is exactly what I
did this last July. No, it s not what you re thinking; I went to wrestling camp. Wrestling is a sport that I
ve always wanted to try, but my shyness and insecurity held me back. This year I decided that I will no
longer allow other people s opinions affect my own decisions. Joining wrestling is the first major step
I m taking to change my life. You want to do...wrestling? As in...wrestle? This is the initial reaction I
got from Coach McGuffin when I told him I wanted to wrestle this next winter. Not exactly the level
of enthusiasm I was looking for. His demeanor changed in a couple moments though, and he
suggested that I go to camp in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After the conditioning drills, we learned a few moves, then paired up and practiced them. You ll be
fine, coach said you just have to be aggressive. I nodded, but inside I secretly prayed that I wouldn t
get stuck with a rabid beast of a wrestler. Apparently the wrestling gods weren t listening. The first girl
I was paired with wasn t foaming at the mouth, but her intimidation factor was still quite high. She had
the quads of an Olympian, and her biceps were so thick I m pretty sure she could bench press me. To
top it all off, she was sporting a face mask reminiscent of Hannibal Lecter (apparently she had broken
her nose in a match last season). Her arms of steel wrapped around me, and when she took me down I
felt like I d been clotheslined by The Rock. The guys on the team were watching, and I saw them all
collectively cringe as my face got slammed into the mat. Fun stuff. After this short but painful crash
course in wrestling basics, it was time for some live matches. I had one clear cut objective: Don t get
pinned! Two seconds into my first match and my face got to know the mat quite intimately. My
philosophy quickly changed to: Don t get pinned in thirty seconds...don t get pinned in ten
seconds...don t get neck snapped in three different places. Let s just say I didn t exactly fulfill my
goals. I did have one moment of glory however. Enter Eric: Cocky, annoying freshman, who is unable

Comparing Douglas Adams Difficulty With My Life-Style
1. Douglas Adams uses cause and effect to make a persuasive agrument about the relative impact of
the an action by explaining cause and effect is a never ending cycle. Adam s text is shows how people
actions can effect people/things and aren t consciously aware of how this effect people every day life.
There is nothing that can be done to prevent the effects of the actions that are being taken it is just a
part of life. Arthur said, I seem to be having a tremendous difficulty with my life style by Arthur
saying caused a tremendous war that could of been prevented for happening. However that was not the
case, the opponents believe there was only one cause that caused Arthur to feel that certain way about
his life. They did not noticed there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A rhetorial similarity between The Penultimate Peril and The Hitchiker s Guide is both texts argue that
cause and effect have a cycle that keeps going and certain things led to something and than back
again. Peoples actions determine the different outcomes that a person decides to do. Than the
outcomes have other outcomes and that continues to go in a circle. A difference between the two texts
is Adams thinks each individual cause has a specific outcome while Snickets thinks an action can have
many outcomes. In The Hitchiker s Guide the reader can see there is only one cause to why everything
happen he is more specific in his story. In The Penultimate Peril Snickets the reader can see the
mysteries could have been solved in many ways. Snikets follow the basic rule of cause and effect
which shows any effect can have multiple possible causes; the task of cause and effect is to determine
the correct one. Snicket made a metaphor to that when he said, the world is like a calm pond, and that
anytime a person does even the smallest thing, it is as if a stone has dropped into the pond, spreading
circles of ripples further and further out, until the entire world has been changed by one tiny action.
One action can have many possibles to be

Louise Symbolism In The Story Of An Hour
Within the tear jerking short story, The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin, Kate Chopin offers insight
on the ongoing battle of the main character and her loss of her husband. In the beginning of the story,
Louise Mallard has to be informed about her husband s death. Since Louise suffers from heart trouble,
her sister, Josephine, must inform her in a cautious manner. Brently, was announced dead by a local
newspaper in which Brently has died due to a railroad disaster. Louise is perched against an open
window in which she studies the outside environment closely. She begins to cry simultaneously trying
to keep her emotions within. She soon repeats free! numerous amounts of times. Louise imagines
seeing her husband s corpse and began to imagine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Louise then exclaims, free, free, free! when she was told about the news of her husband s death
(Chopin 13). Louise exclaims free multiple times because this is essentially her hidden feeling towards
her husband s death, free. In direct correlation to Louise repetition of free, she sits near a window in
which symbolizes her underlying feelings towards the oppressiveness of marriage. After all the time
she stared out the window, now there was a dull stare in her eyes, whose gaze was fixed away off
yonder on one of those patches of blue sky. It was not a glance of reflection, but rather indicated a
suspension of intelligent thought (Chopin 13). Louise undergoes a change in mindset in which she
suddenly realizes the freedom she received over Brently s death. The window is a symbol to her
freedom, in which she enlightens herself after a few moments of thought.
Lastly, irony plays a role in Louise s sudden death. The irony begins when Louise breathed a quick
prayer that life might be long. It was only yesterday she had thought with a shudder that life might be
long (Chopin 14). The death of Brently poured the negative influences in Louise s mind. She believed
that her life was going to be long and dull when she was informed. Eventually, the doctors came they
said she had died of heart disease of joy that kills (Chopin 14). Shortly after she thought

The Holocaust And The Nazi Party
Between the years of 1939 and 1945 many of the people in Germany let out their inner beast. Some
likely never knew this inner brutality existed within them and others had kept it hidden deep inside
intentionally. Irma Grese used the Holocaust to express her inner most anger and hate. She abused,
killed, and controlled the people in the camps she worked at, all with the blessings of the German
Nazis she worked for. A Holocaust survivor, Olga Lyngel, later described Grese as a twenty two year
old girl...completely without pity. This description of Irma Grese only gives a glimpse into her true
essence. She consisted of a nature so completely devoid of compassion and empathy it barely
resembled anything close to normal human behavior. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her father worked on someone else s land for wages. Alfred and Berta Grese raised their children in
Wrechen, a small village located north of Berlin, near the future location of Ravensbrück
concentration camp. Alfred Grese did join the NAZI party, but never received the indoctrination that
Irma did. Irma at age twelve returned home with her father and siblings to find her mother had
committed suicide by drinking hydrochloric acid. Her sister Helene testified at her trial on her behalf
and seemed to claim that other children bullied Irma as a child and that she tended to be a coward.
Helene Grese stated in her testimony, In our schooldays when, as it sometimes happens, girls were
quarrelling and fighting, my sister had never the courage to fight, but on the contrary she ran away.
She left home around the age of fourteen and moved to a nearby village working on a local farm. She
obtained several menial jobs over the next few years. At the age of fifteen she went to work as an
apprentice nurse at Hohenlychen. History professor Wendy Lower wrote in her book, Hitler s Furies,
that, Young women of modest backgrounds asserted themselves by leaving their villages, enrolling in
training programs as typists or nurses, and joining a political movement. This statement seems to
apply directly to Irma Grese. Her work as a nurse at Hohenlychen likely introduced her to the

Nonconformism In Manuel Puigan s Kiss Of Spider Woman
In a society governed by straight, cis gender men, the nonconformists have been pushed to the side
and hidden from view. Ashamed by their anomalies, these men have released heteronormative,
patriarchal media to create a conformist society and to label any outsider as strange or other. Although
media about the marginalized exists, they are few and far in between, leaving them to appropriate
other forms of expression. In Manuel Puig s Kiss of Spider Woman, Molina, an effeminate gay man,
recounts the storyline of Jacques Tourner s film, Cat People, through a queer perspective. By
identifying with a nonhuman figure and distorting a heteronormative plotline, Molina recognizes the
animality, or otherness, within himself due to his nonconforming nature. In Molina s narration of
Tourner s film, he often shows admiration towards Irena, a cat person. When introducing her to
Valentín, he expresses that she is not a woman like all the others, indicating her otherness yet
romanticizing her at the same time (Puig 3). She is unlike other women not only because she s non
human but also the heroine (25). This idolization is, furthermore, seen when he bids his cellmate
goodnight. Sweet dreams of Irena, he says, elevating her into an ethereal figure (9). Therefore, Molina
s reverence leads him to place himself in Irena s shoes. Like Irena, he is fond of Oliver because he s
the gentle type, and understanding (17); yet, he loathes the psychiatrist because so does [she],
revealing that his feelings towards the characters are dependent on hers (20). In other instances,
Molina seems to know what Irena is thinking and feeling although the film does not delve into her
mind. He explains how, when seeing Oliver, she [had] such a strong desire to kiss him, on the mouth
(21). Yet, in the film, the viewer is unable to truly know her desires unless they are explicitly said. So,
Molina has assumed her character mentally and emotionally.
However, Molina s identification with Irena is evident in the encounter with the other foreign woman.
In his narration, he explains this scene almost precisely as it is in the film. The only difference is that
Molina can provides a translation for the woman s line. According to

I am a lucid dreamer. The dream is like an image in person s mind. I often dream of perusing my
goals. It is a powerful tool that guides me always. My parents always encourage me to dream and
think life in a visual image that helps me to move forward. However, sometimes I fail toward my
dreams and fall down. Eventually, I defeat all sarcastic situations with the help of courage that I get

Electronic Health Records (EHR)
Electronic health records (EHRs) are a mainstay of HIT, and, since the passage of the HITECH Act in
2009, almost all hospitals and most physician practices have adopted some sort of EHR. Benefits of
EHRs fall into 3 major categories: 1) quality, outcomes, and safety, 2) efficiency, productivity, and
cost reduction, and 3) service and satisfaction. Many challenges to adoption and usage of EHRs exist.
High cost associated with the adoption and maintenance of EHRs can be a limiting factor to their
adoption. Technical issues, such as lack of controlled terminology can affect the capturing of clinical
data. Another technical barrier is user familiarity with computers. Older users are more likely to resist
incorporation of computers into their workflow ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Leapfrog Group champions use of CPOE to help improve patient safety. CPOE works best when
integrated with Clinical Decision Support, which will be reviewed in the next paragraph. When used
in conjunction, physicians (or other high level care providers such as nurse practitioners) can be
alerted of potential problems with orders in real time rather than later in the order process. Also,
CPOE eliminates errors made due to illegible physician handwriting. Like barriers for EHRs,
incorporation of CPOE may result in the need for a complete overhaul in workflow processes, which
is often met with much resistance and is extremely time intensive. Training issues are also of note
during CPOE implementation. Physicians may be resistant to set aside enough time to train due to fear
of lost revenue and backlog of work. Also, physicians may prefer to be trained individually, which can
be an expensive, time consuming methods of training. As previously noted, integration of CPOE is
touted to improve patient safety by reducing human error, but great care and attention must be paid
during the implementation phase. Han et al observed an unintended consequence, an increase in
patient mortality, during CPOE implementation at Children s Hospital of Pittsburg. While CPOE
implementation did result in a decrease in adverse drug events, researchers pointed out potential for
problems, including increased time to enter orders, delayed medication administration times, reduction
in nurse to patient ratios, and medications being given at incorrect

1. Describe three specific example of how Disney movie can unintentional create roles certain groups
of people through socialization.
Disney creates gender roles, racial roles, and white supremacy through socialization within their
motion pictures. For example, Walt Disney s Snow White , Fantasia , and even The Little Mermaid all
show females as obscenely beautiful, male dependent and flirtatious creatures who couldn t save
themselves from a Chinese finger trap. Males are the perfectly sculpted rescuers who can be easily
wooed by a woman s body; and these exaggerated roles create a false standard for children and can
lead to severely underdeveloped sociological skills. Moving onto the racial roles; in the movie All

3. Describe a specific example of how Disney can unintentionally set the roles between a man and
woman in an abusive relationship.
In the movie Beauty and the Beast , the role of a man and woman in an abusive relation is practically
spelled out and strait from Disney s female lead jar. Belle is kidnaped by the Beast and forced o live in
the dungeon until her father is ripped away from her. During this time she is completely defenseless to
the Beasts onslaught and often retreats within herself and rarely confronts him. Beast on the other
hand, portraying an abusive male, does everything to a tee. He yells, bangs on doors, throws furniture,
and even threatens starvation when Belle goes against him. Belle, being the kind and gentle female
lead, looks past all his rage and finds he prince inside; highlighting the common problem in abusive
relationships. The abused partner holding onto the hope that their abuser will change, that they will
love them and show them the tenderness that used to be there. Women (could also be men) are
supposed to take the abuse and wait it out, showing nothing but love while the abuser rampages and
eventually, things will be just like the fairy tales.
4. Describe a specific example of how Disney can unintentionally skew a historical event.

An Article About Child Pageants
A Wiehe Analysis
In the Lexington Herald Leader Vernon R. Wiehe wrote an article about child pageants. He is a
reliable source when it comes to the subject of child psychology because he is a professor from the
College of Social Works University in Kentucky. In this article the author argues that child pageants
are not age appropriate, and would harm the child s wellbeing. Wiehe gives many reason as to why
these pageants are wrong by refuting common arguments that people would give to justify the
pageants.
When addressing the topic of beauty pageants, he starts by describing the TV show Toddlers and
Tiaras. He gives the websites description then gives his own description of the show for instance he
quotes from toddlers and tiaras website On any given weekend, on stages across the country little and
boys parade around wearing makeup, false eyelashes... this paints the show in a more positive light
however Wiehe describes the show as a feeble attempt at Las Vegas glamour and glitz (Wiehe). By
doing this he is comparing and contracting his ideas of child pageants and the way the show describes
how these pageants are run. He exposes the pageants in a negative light so that it can connect with his
points creating a better flow in the article, and making it more comprehendible.
Wiehe appeals to parents by playing on some parents worst fears, for instances he mentions that
children get sexualized because they are wearing clothes that are not age appropriate, and that

EXPLAINING SEXUAL ASSAULT AND RAPE
As reported by, feminist criminologists, their perspective of rape and sexual assault differ from liberal
and radical feminists. Liberal feminists viewpoint in regards of rape as a gender neutral assault on a
persons autonomy and mainly focusing on the harm that rape can do to an individual. In contrast,
radical feminists describe rape as a subject to be recognised and understood as a major pillar of
patriarchy; a social system in which men claim the positions of dominance and control of the central

Early Twentieth Century Music Analysis
The early twentieth century was filled with violence and progress. However, despite all that was
taking place, the arts still had room to evolve. In the arts, as in other aspects of life, there was an
increased emphasis on pluralism and diversity. In the twentieth century, there were revolts spanning all
areas; but in this essay, I will focus on the musical aspects of them. Composers drew inspiration from
an enormous variety of sources, including folk and popular music; the music of Asia, Africa, and Latin
America; and European art music from the Middle Ages through the nineteenth century. During the
twentieth century, differences among styles were so great that it seems as though composers used
different musical languages, not merely different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was begun by Claude Debussy in reaction to the dramatic and dynamic emotionalism of romantic
music. Impressionist music is not something that can be shown to the audience. It is something for the
audience to listen to and create their own particular atmosphere. For example, Debussy s Voiles blur
harmony with depictions of outdoor scenes or, more generally, with establishing correspondences
between the aural and the visual. Debussy stressed tone color, atmosphere, and fluidity; elements that
are essential to impressionism. Neoclassicism is a trend in which composers sought to return to
aesthetic precepts associated with the broadly defined concept of classicism , namely order, balance,
clarity, economy, and emotional restraint. Surprisingly, neoclassicism music reached back to the
Classical era for some of its inspiration. Igor Stravinsky s Pulcinella is a famous neoclassicism work
that encompassed the essence of the previous era. Stravinsky s neoclassical works emphasize restraint,
balance, and wit, and are far removed from the violence of The Rite of

Apple s Impact On The Computer Industry
Executive Summary Apple has been the leading force in innovation for the past couple of years, not
only does it dominate the mobile phone industry, it has also transformed the computer industry too.
With millions of people using their products today, Apple is one of the most successful companies in
the world. However, Apple did not come all this way from nothing. It suffered ups and downs just like
any other company, with this being said, the way Apple dealt with its problems was the difference
between it and any other company. Apple is strong today because of the way that it was built by its co
founder Steve jobs. With his leadership skills, the culture he put into place and the socialization
process of the new employees, incorporating them into the company s beliefs and values, were just
building blocks to the bigger picture. Apple is also successful due to the fact that it has good
communication within it that improved after a specific incident in the past by implementing what is
known as a Direct Responsible Individual (DRI). A mistake at Apple will almost never go unpunished
and because of this, Apple employees perform at 110%.
Apple s Elements of Success:
Strong company culture involvement.
Transformational Leadership
Communication between employees and upper management (DRI s)
Critical decision making

The Rate Of Preterm Birth Essay
For when a child is born the mother is also born again, has been rightfully quoted by Gilbert Parker
(Gilbert Parker, n.d.). Childbirth is one of the greatest privileges on the earth anyone could have and
we, as women, should feel proud to be major contributors for it. Thus, a mother has to play a key role
in aiding the healthcare workers to mitigate the health crisis associated with childbirth by performing
her duties faithfully. One such associated health crisis is Premature (preterm) birth which occurs when
the baby is born too early, before 37 weeks of gestational period (CDC, 2015). The rate of preterm
birth ranges from 5% to 18% of babies born across 184 countries (WHO, 2015). Premature birth is an
important public health priority in terms of health of women and infants. Every year an estimated 15
million preterm babies are born and this number is still rising (WHO, 2015).In 2014, 1 of every 10
babies born in United States were premature and black infants were 50% more likely to be born
premature than white, Hispanic and Asian/Pacific islander infants (CDC,2015). Almost 1 million
children die each year due to complications of premature birth (WHO, 2015). Major survivors face
lifelong disabilities like learning disabilities, hearing, visual, feeding, digestive, breathing and
respiratory problems (CDC, 2015) and low birth weight (March of Dimes, 2014). A major challenge in
decreasing the rate of preterm birth is

Translation Of Evidence And Practice
Translation of Evidence to Practice Does the compliance with a sedation protocol improve after nurses
receive a sedation competency over a three month period? The available data supported the hypothesis
that nursing education and competency can lead to consistent best practices and positive outcomes for
patients. The answers to this research question can help develop interventions that support best
practices for patients who are mechanically ventilated and receiving intravenous sedation. The
literature supported a positive impact on patient outcomes when sedation awakening trials (SAT) and
spontaneous breathing trials (SBT) were coordinated (Klompas et al., 2015, Woien Bjork, 2012,
Woien, Vaeroy, Aamodt, Bjork, 2012). The literature also supported the compliance of the
coordination was more predictable when the nursing division was provided with protocol education
(Klompas et al., 2015, Woien Bjork, 2012, Woien, Vaeroy, Aamodt, Bjork, 2012). The summation of
findings indicates that when education was integrated with the research methods, the outcomes related
to nursing compliance were consistent and led to the completion of best practices. Nursing education
was a controlled variable in research that found a positive correlation with SAT and SBT and
outcomes for patients. Additionally, research without this controlled variable found inconsistencies
with the performance of SAT/SBT and related outcomes. As a result, the particular relationship

Summary Of I Am A Black Woman
The Legacy of a Black Poet
A rhyme scheme. An antidote. Poems are often viewed as simple things to read. People do not notice
realize how perplex they can be. Poetry has its own way of telling a story. In only a few lines, one s
entire life can be explained. However, only some poets know how to connect to their audience on a
different level. It takes a specific type of person to create vivid pieces of literature. Usually authors
who thrive on writing have gone through experiences that made them full of wisdom. The way one
writes reflects back on who he/she is as a person. As a result of growing up in a traditional black
family, Mari Evans incorporates her values about being an African American in her poem, I Am A
Black Woman.
Initially, Mari Evan s childhood was like that of several African American children in her time. She
was born into a traditional black family located in Toledo, Ohio on July 16, 1923. At a young age, she
was taught to take care of her elders and how to be polite. She had a normal life until her mother
passed away when she was only 10 years old. However, her father became one of her closest family
members. He showed her continuous support in her career interests and was always there for her.
Correspondingly, Evans was determined to become a fashion designer in her early years. To receive a
degree in this major she attended the University of Toledo. However, her interest in fashion design
faded and she never earned a degree. It was not until

John Deere said it was a good deal. Deere kept his end of the bargain and kept sending all of his
manufactured goods down the Mississippi River to St. Louis and that is where all of John Deeres
goods caught the train and headed for the western parts of the United States. After Deere signed
another contract with the train company in 1871, he decided to have them ship a few of his technology
and manufactured goods down south to Texas and clear over to California to see how much money he
would make at that place. John Deere had a range in expertise from the train to farming equipment.
John Deere helped invent the mechanical reaper for wheat in the 1859 (John Deere Facts). In the eyes
of the farmers that farmed in the Great Plains this machine saved some time and it made everyone else
happy to, because more they got planted. The more they got cut. The more the people had to eat,
Which really was a win for everybody. The farmers were able to produce so much of their own crop
that they had quite a bit left over, so they could feed their families, and they still could sell it for some

Racial Discrimination And Related Treatment Of African...
According to Merriam Webster, Racism is defined as a belief that race is the primary determinant of
human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular
race (Merriam Webster, n.d.). Knowing this, Racism is certainly not particular to the United States of
America, As Alex Haley, the author of Roots, told Scott Ross, CBN journalist, in a 1992 interview, If
you think about it, ...there is no grouping of people to my knowledge, of any consequence, who have
not, at one or another time, been the object of hatred, racism, or who has not had people against them
just because they were them (Ross 2016). Racial discrimination and related treatment of African
Americans over the decades may be deeply rooted in American culture. In fact, it can be traced to the
Founding Fathers. As history tells us, two of the most famous Founding Fathers owned slaves, and it
goes without saying that for one to justify another s enslavement as did wealthy American colonials
that person would have to hold to the belief that the slave is by definition, and inferior being. Our first
and third presidents: George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were slave owners and their treatment
of African Americans is well documented. (Smithsonian, 2015) The dehumanizing way Early
Americans treated Africans who were imported as slave labor became universally accepted among the
population from the very beginning while still under British rule. In spite of the

Jane Addams And The Movement Of The Progressive Movement
The progressive movement began in 1890 and went to around 1920. The purpose of this was to fix
some serious issues that were happening in the country. This includes corruption, sexism towards
women, racism, discrimination against religion, big businesses and corporations, etc. The people
realized that things needed to change fast. For things to move into the right direction, people needed to
start making the right moves. Having the president on this side was crucial as well. The leaders needed
to know exactly who and what to go for to better the country and prevent it from getting worse for the
poor and common people. While not everything was able to get fixed under the progressive
movement, it served its purpose and did change a great deal of horrible things going on in the US at
the time. There are countless things that the progressive movement had tried to fix. Protecting social
welfare was one of its goals. Big issue was the poor communities were not given the same treatment
as the middle and upper class communities. For this, Jane Addams took to a poor neighborhood and
built a settlement house that provided for the community. Instead of living and working from home,
she lived in the house herself to see what these people had to go through in their daily lives. Such
reformers believed that only by living among the poor could they help bridge the growing class divide.
(Textbook. Pg. 585). In doing so, Addams helped and inspired more women to help the poor

Government Accounting Standards Board versus Financial...
In accounting, private companies are treated differently than governmental and non profit companies.
However governmental and non profit companies use different reporting requirements from the
private sector. The requirements for governmental companies use the Government Accounting
Standards Board (GASB), whereas profit and non profit companies use the Financial Accounting
Standards Board. This paper will explain the purpose, discus the similarities, and differences between
the GASB and FASB. Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) is the independent

The mission of the FASB is to establish and improve standards of financial accounting and reporting
that foster financial reporting by nongovernmental entities that provides decision useful information to
investors and other users of financial reports (FASB 2014). The FASB is also an independent
organization that is different from any other business and professional organization. The FASB has
seven members, and they serve full time. They are appointed for five year terms, and are eligible for
an additional five year term. The FASB uses due process to implement the process of the standard
setting process. The rules for setting or changing standards include; identifying financial reporting
issues from stakeholders or other sources, and then the FASB decides whether or not to add the issue
to the agenda. Once that is done the boards deliberates at one or more public meetings, and an
Exposure Draft is issued for stakeholder input. The FASB staff then analyzes letters, discussions, and
any other information received which the Board will redeliberate on the proposed provision at one or
more public meeting, and then the Board will issue the standard update. The FASB uses what is called
a cost benefit analysis which is a process for calculating and comparing the benefit cost to the
proposed policy (FASB, 2014). The GASB and FASB have quit a few similarities. They both aim

Speaking in Tongues in Acts Essay
SPEAKING IN TONGUES IN ACTS
INTRODUCTION Speaking in tongues has been a very controversial subject for many churches for
decades. The Pentecostal Churches have a positive outlook on this subject, but many other Churches
believe speaking in tongues is not for today s believers.
THE DAY OF PENTECOST When the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one
accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and
it Filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided Tongues, as of

The witness is not just the power to preach the gospel; the first result of the coming of the Holy Spirit
is the ability to speak in other tongues.
THE HEAVENLY LANGUAGE So what do interpreters who understand tongues as ecstatic utterance
do with Acts 2? Those who believe that tongues can be either foreign languages or heavenly languages
have no trouble explaining the relation of Acts 2 to 1 Corn. 12 14. In one instance the tongues were
foreign languages and in the other they were heavenly languages, but it was still the same basic
phenomenon of Spirit inspired speech. 6 These interpreters have trouble understanding the foreign
languages at Pentecost as a miracle, so they suggest that Luke may have added the foreign language
motif in order to make the phenomenon more intelligible and rational or in order to emphasize the
theological theme that the gospel would be preached to all nations. 7 The heavenly language was and
is used to pray to Jesus when we want to have fellowship with Jesus. The Holy Spirit can help us to
communicate with Him in a very special way. Jesus provides a spiritual language to make up for what
our natural minds do not know or comprehend. His spirit intercedes directly with our reborn spirit, and
can also provide an interpretation of what was said. This gift is a personal, private, and individual
prayer language provided by Jesus himself for our

Registered nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse. CNAs are the backbone of nursing. They are the
foundation that makes patient care possible and easier for everybody. Being a CNA is not always an
easy job but they will do what needs to be done. A CNAs daily job mostly involves taking care of the

field. Being a CNA can be very rewarding. Getting to watch someone recover and see them walk out
of the hospital without any injuries give you a feeling of pride because you had a part in their
recovery. Being a CNA also gives you a jump start in becoming a nurse. You get to work with nurses
and are exposed to their everyday life. You get to practice your bedside manner. Those who are not
CNAs before they become a nurse do not have the chance to practice their bedside manner. If you are

Conservatives vs. Liberals Conservatives vs. Liberals Conservatives are very supportive for individuals that are in the higher class, while liberals support the lower class individuals in society. Conservatives and Liberals have completely different views from one another. I personally favor liberalist views due to the fact they favor equality within our society. While conservatives feel as though within a society everyone should be responsible for themselves they don t believe in aid to mankind. In our society we can achieve and do so much more if everyone as a whole worked together and cared about the individual next to them. The world that we live in today would but much stronger, there would be less poverty and more equality in the working class. Due ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 3. Constellations In The Northern Hemisphere THE NORTHERN HEMISPHERE CONSTELLATIONS The constellations in the Northern hemisphere that I chose to observe are: Sagittarius, Scorpius, Hercules, Aquila and Ophiuchus. The constellations have been used for quite a few things like navigation, agriculture and used to predicted the seasons and more. The many two that the ancient people used the constellations for were navigation and agriculture. The ancient Greeks and Romans used the North Star called Polaris just by looking at how high Polaris appeared in the sky at night. This allows them to sail the ships across the seas and to let them know where they are in the sea. The European also used the constellations to sail across the sea for the discovery of America and the spread of European ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I observe tried Scorpius with my own eyes but I could not find it so I used my telescope to find it and observe it. The best time to see the Scorpius is in the evening around 8:45pm. According to what my telescope information it said that is due to the fact that we are looking in the direction close to the center of our galaxy. I observe many stars in this area, and it is unfortunate for us in northern hemisphere that the observing season for this constellation is cut short both by the brief summer evenings. The constellation of Hercules is one of the original 48 constellations plotted by 2nd century astrophysicist Ptolemy and remains today as one of the modern 88 constellations. I did not observe the Hercules constellation. My telescope pointed in the direction of the constellation but it was to faint for me to see it. Patents are granted by the USPTO and last for nonrenewable term of 20 years (Ferrera et al, 2012). Patents grant exclusive rights to exclude others from engaging in making, using, selling of patent products (O reilly, 2007). Online businesses must be aware of other s patent rights even if they do not copy other companies business methods or technologies. According to the Patent Act of 1952, patent may only be granted for inventions that are within the scope of patentable subject matter, useful, new, nonobvious and enabled (Ferrera et al., 2012). There are subject matters that are not patentable such as laws of nature, physical phenomena and abstract ideas. • 5. I Found Myself at Wrestling Camp Essay Most girls don t pay money to roll around on the ground with sweaty guys. Yet that is exactly what I did this last July. No, it s not what you re thinking; I went to wrestling camp. Wrestling is a sport that I ve always wanted to try, but my shyness and insecurity held me back. This year I decided that I will no longer allow other people s opinions affect my own decisions. Joining wrestling is the first major step I m taking to change my life. You want to do...wrestling? As in...wrestle? This is the initial reaction I got from Coach McGuffin when I told him I wanted to wrestle this next winter. Not exactly the level of enthusiasm I was looking for. His demeanor changed in a couple moments though, and he suggested that I go to camp in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After the conditioning drills, we learned a few moves, then paired up and practiced them. You ll be fine, coach said you just have to be aggressive. I nodded, but inside I secretly prayed that I wouldn t get stuck with a rabid beast of a wrestler. Apparently the wrestling gods weren t listening. The first girl I was paired with wasn t foaming at the mouth, but her intimidation factor was still quite high. She had the quads of an Olympian, and her biceps were so thick I m pretty sure she could bench press me. To top it all off, she was sporting a face mask reminiscent of Hannibal Lecter (apparently she had broken her nose in a match last season). Her arms of steel wrapped around me, and when she took me down I felt like I d been clotheslined by The Rock. The guys on the team were watching, and I saw them all collectively cringe as my face got slammed into the mat. Fun stuff. After this short but painful crash course in wrestling basics, it was time for some live matches. I had one clear cut objective: Don t get pinned! Two seconds into my first match and my face got to know the mat quite intimately. My philosophy quickly changed to: Don t get pinned in thirty seconds...don t get pinned in ten seconds...don t get neck snapped in three different places. Let s just say I didn t exactly fulfill my goals. I did have one moment of glory however. Enter Eric: Cocky, annoying freshman, who is unable to shut up for more than thirty ... Douglas Adams uses cause and effect to make a persuasive agrument about the relative impact of the an action by explaining cause and effect is a never ending cycle. Adam s text is shows how people actions can effect people/things and aren t consciously aware of how this effect people every day life. There is nothing that can be done to prevent the effects of the actions that are being taken it is just a part of life. Arthur said, I seem to be having a tremendous difficulty with my life style by Arthur saying caused a tremendous war that could of been prevented for happening. A rhetorial similarity between The Penultimate Peril and The Hitchiker s Guide is both texts argue that cause and effect have a cycle that keeps going and certain things led to something and than back again. Peoples actions determine the different outcomes that a person decides to do. Than the outcomes have other outcomes and that continues to go in a circle. A difference between the two texts is Adams thinks each individual cause has a specific outcome while Snickets thinks an action can have many outcomes. In The Hitchiker s Guide the reader can see there is only one cause to why everything happen he is more specific in his story. In The Penultimate Peril Snickets the reader can see the mysteries could have been solved in many ways. Snikets follow the basic rule of cause and effect which shows any effect can have multiple possible causes; the task of cause and effect is to determine the correct one. Snicket made a metaphor to that when he said, the world is like a calm pond, and that anytime a person does even the smallest thing, it is as if a stone has dropped into the pond, spreading circles of ripples further and further out, until the entire world has been changed by one tiny action. • 7. Louise Symbolism In The Story Of An Hour Within the tear jerking short story, The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin, Kate Chopin offers insight on the ongoing battle of the main character and her loss of her husband. Brently, was announced dead by a local newspaper in which Brently has died due to a railroad disaster. Louise is perched against an open window in which she studies the outside environment closely. Louise exclaims free multiple times because this is essentially her hidden feeling towards her husband s death, free. In direct correlation to Louise repetition of free, she sits near a window in which symbolizes her underlying feelings towards the oppressiveness of marriage. After all the time she stared out the window, now there was a dull stare in her eyes, whose gaze was fixed away off yonder on one of those patches of blue sky. It was not a glance of reflection, but rather indicated a suspension of intelligent thought (Chopin 13). Louise undergoes a change in mindset in which she suddenly realizes the freedom she received over Brently s death. The window is a symbol to her freedom, in which she enlightens herself after a few moments of thought. Lastly, irony plays a role in Louise s sudden death. The irony begins when Louise breathed a quick prayer that life might be long. It was only yesterday she had thought with a shudder that life might be long (Chopin 14). The death of Brently poured the negative influences in Louise s mind. She believed that her life was going to be long and dull when she was informed. Eventually, the doctors came they said she had died of heart disease of joy that kills (Chopin 14). Shortly after she thought ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Holocaust And The Nazi Party Between the years of 1939 and 1945 many of the people in Germany let out their inner beast. Some likely never knew this inner brutality existed within them and others had kept it hidden deep inside intentionally. Irma Grese used the Holocaust to express her inner most anger and hate. She abused, killed, and controlled the people in the camps she worked at, all with the blessings of the German Nazis she worked for. A Holocaust survivor, Olga Lyngel, later described Grese as a twenty two year old girl...completely without pity. This description of Irma Grese only gives a glimpse into her true essence. Her father worked on someone else s land for wages. Alfred and Berta Grese raised their children in Wrechen, a small village located north of Berlin, near the future location of Ravensbrück concentration camp. Alfred Grese did join the NAZI party, but never received the indoctrination that Irma did. Irma at age twelve returned home with her father and siblings to find her mother had committed suicide by drinking hydrochloric acid. Her sister Helene testified at her trial on her behalf and seemed to claim that other children bullied Irma as a child and that she tended to be a coward. Helene Grese stated in her testimony, In our schooldays when, as it sometimes happens, girls were quarrelling and fighting, my sister had never the courage to fight, but on the contrary she ran away. She left home around the age of fourteen and moved to a nearby village working on a local farm. She obtained several menial jobs over the next few years. At the age of fifteen she went to work as an apprentice nurse at Hohenlychen. • 10. Nonconformism In Manuel Puigan s Kiss Of Spider Woman In a society governed by straight, cis gender men, the nonconformists have been pushed to the side and hidden from view. Ashamed by their anomalies, these men have released heteronormative, patriarchal media to create a conformist society and to label any outsider as strange or other. Although media about the marginalized exists, they are few and far in between, leaving them to appropriate other forms of expression. In Manuel Puig s Kiss of Spider Woman, Molina, an effeminate gay man, recounts the storyline of Jacques Tourner s film, Cat People, through a queer perspective. By identifying with a nonhuman figure and distorting a heteronormative plotline, Molina recognizes the animality, or otherness, within himself due to his nonconforming nature. In Molina s narration of Tourner s film, he often shows admiration towards Irena, a cat person. When introducing her to Valentín, he expresses that she is not a woman like all the others, indicating her otherness yet romanticizing her at the same time (Puig 3). She is unlike other women not only because she s non human but also the heroine (25). This idolization is, furthermore, seen when he bids his cellmate goodnight. Sweet dreams of Irena, he says, elevating her into an ethereal figure (9). Therefore, Molina s reverence leads him to place himself in Irena s shoes. Like Irena, he is fond of Oliver because he s the gentle type, and understanding (17); yet, he loathes the psychiatrist because so does [she], revealing that his feelings towards the characters are dependent on hers (20). In other instances, Molina seems to know what Irena is thinking and feeling although the film does not delve into her mind. He explains how, when seeing Oliver, she [had] such a strong desire to kiss him, on the mouth (21). Yet, in the film, the viewer is unable to truly know her desires unless they are explicitly said. So, Molina has assumed her character mentally and emotionally. However, Molina s identification with Irena is evident in the encounter with the other foreign woman. In his narration, he explains this scene almost precisely as it is in the film. The only difference is that Molina can provides a translation for the woman s line. According to ... Electronic Health Records (EHR) Electronic health records (EHRs) are a mainstay of HIT, and, since the passage of the HITECH Act in 2009, almost all hospitals and most physician practices have adopted some sort of EHR. Many challenges to adoption and usage of EHRs exist. High cost associated with the adoption and maintenance of EHRs can be a limiting factor to their adoption. The Leapfrog Group champions use of CPOE to help improve patient safety. CPOE works best when integrated with Clinical Decision Support, which will be reviewed in the next paragraph. When used in conjunction, physicians (or other high level care providers such as nurse practitioners) can be alerted of potential problems with orders in real time rather than later in the order process. Also, CPOE eliminates errors made due to illegible physician handwriting. Like barriers for EHRs, incorporation of CPOE may result in the need for a complete overhaul in workflow processes, which is often met with much resistance and is extremely time intensive. Training issues are also of note during CPOE implementation. Physicians may be resistant to set aside enough time to train due to fear of lost revenue and backlog of work. Also, physicians may prefer to be trained individually, which can be an expensive, time consuming methods of training. As previously noted, integration of CPOE is touted to improve patient safety by reducing human error, but great care and attention must be paid during the implementation phase. Han et al observed an unintended consequence, an increase in patient mortality, during CPOE implementation at Children s Hospital of Pittsburg. While CPOE implementation did result in a decrease in adverse drug events, researchers pointed out potential for problems, including increased time to enter orders, delayed medication administration times, reduction in nurse to patient ratios, and medications being given at incorrect ... In the movie Beauty and the Beast , the role of a man and woman in an abusive relation is practically spelled out and strait from Disney s female lead jar. Belle is kidnaped by the Beast and forced o live in the dungeon until her father is ripped away from her. During this time she is completely defenseless to the Beasts onslaught and often retreats within herself and rarely confronts him. Beast on the other hand, portraying an abusive male, does everything to a tee. He yells, bangs on doors, throws furniture, and even threatens starvation when Belle goes against him. Belle, being the kind and gentle female lead, looks past all his rage and finds he prince inside; highlighting the common problem in abusive relationships. The abused partner holding onto the hope that their abuser will change, that they will love them and show them the tenderness that used to be there. • 22. An Article About Child Pageants A Wiehe Analysis In the Lexington Herald Leader Vernon R. Wiehe wrote an article about child pageants. He is a reliable source when it comes to the subject of child psychology because he is a professor from the College of Social Works University in Kentucky. In this article the author argues that child pageants are not age appropriate, and would harm the child s wellbeing. Wiehe gives many reason as to why these pageants are wrong by refuting common arguments that people would give to justify the pageants. When addressing the topic of beauty pageants, he starts by describing the TV show Toddlers and Tiaras. He gives the websites description then gives his own description of the show for instance he quotes from toddlers and tiaras website On any given weekend, on stages across the country little and boys parade around wearing makeup, false eyelashes... this paints the show in a more positive light however Wiehe describes the show as a feeble attempt at Las Vegas glamour and glitz (Wiehe). By doing this he is comparing and contracting his ideas of child pageants and the way the show describes how these pageants are run. He exposes the pageants in a negative light so that it can connect with his points creating a better flow in the article, and making it more comprehendible. Wiehe appeals to parents by playing on some parents worst fears, for instances he mentions that children get sexualized because they are wearing clothes that are not age appropriate, and that ... • 24. Early Twentieth Century Music Analysis The early twentieth century was filled with violence and progress. However, despite all that was taking place, the arts still had room to evolve. In the arts, as in other aspects of life, there was an increased emphasis on pluralism and diversity. In the twentieth century, there were revolts spanning all areas; but in this essay, I will focus on the musical aspects of them. Composers drew inspiration from an enormous variety of sources, including folk and popular music; the music of Asia, Africa, and Latin America; and European art music from the Middle Ages through the nineteenth century. During the twentieth century, differences among styles were so great that it seems as though composers used different musical languages, not merely different ... Impressionist music is not something that can be shown to the audience. It is something for the audience to listen to and create their own particular atmosphere. For example, Debussy s Voiles blur harmony with depictions of outdoor scenes or, more generally, with establishing correspondences between the aural and the visual. Debussy stressed tone color, atmosphere, and fluidity; elements that are essential to impressionism. Neoclassicism is a trend in which composers sought to return to aesthetic precepts associated with the broadly defined concept of classicism , namely order, balance, clarity, economy, and emotional restraint. Surprisingly, neoclassicism music reached back to the Classical era for some of its inspiration. Igor Stravinsky s Pulcinella is a famous neoclassicism work that encompassed the essence of the previous era. • 26. The Rate Of Preterm Birth Essay For when a child is born the mother is also born again, has been rightfully quoted by Gilbert Parker (Gilbert Parker, n.d.). Childbirth is one of the greatest privileges on the earth anyone could have and we, as women, should feel proud to be major contributors for it. Thus, a mother has to play a key role in aiding the healthcare workers to mitigate the health crisis associated with childbirth by performing her duties faithfully. One such associated health crisis is Premature (preterm) birth which occurs when the baby is born too early, before 37 weeks of gestational period (CDC, 2015). The rate of preterm birth ranges from 5% to 18% of babies born across 184 countries (WHO, 2015). Premature birth is an important public health priority in terms of health of women and infants. Every year an estimated 15 million preterm babies are born and this number is still rising (WHO, 2015).In 2014, 1 of every 10 babies born in United States were premature and black infants were 50% more likely to be born premature than white, Hispanic and Asian/Pacific islander infants (CDC,2015). Almost 1 million children die each year due to complications of premature birth (WHO, 2015). • 27. Translation Of Evidence And Practice Translation of Evidence to Practice Does the compliance with a sedation protocol improve after nurses receive a sedation competency over a three month period? The available data supported the hypothesis that nursing education and competency can lead to consistent best practices and positive outcomes for patients. The answers to this research question can help develop interventions that support best practices for patients who are mechanically ventilated and receiving intravenous sedation. The literature supported a positive impact on patient outcomes when sedation awakening trials (SAT) and spontaneous breathing trials (SBT) were coordinated (Klompas et al., 2015, Woien Bjork, 2012, Woien, Vaeroy, Aamodt, Bjork, 2012). The literature also supported the compliance of the coordination was more predictable when the nursing division was provided with protocol education (Klompas et al., 2015, Woien Bjork, 2012, Woien, Vaeroy, Aamodt, Bjork, 2012). The summation of findings indicates that when education was integrated with the research methods, the outcomes related to nursing compliance were consistent and led to the completion of best practices. Nursing education was a controlled variable in research that found a positive correlation with SAT and SBT and outcomes for patients. Additionally, research without this controlled variable found inconsistencies with the performance of SAT/SBT and related outcomes. As a result, the particular relationship between ... According to Merriam Webster, Racism is defined as a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race (Merriam Webster, n.d.). Knowing this, Racism is certainly not particular to the United States of America, As Alex Haley, the author of Roots, told Scott Ross, CBN journalist, in a 1992 interview, If you think about it, ...there is no grouping of people to my knowledge, of any consequence, who have not, at one or another time, been the object of hatred, racism, or who has not had people against them just because they were them (Ross 2016). Racial discrimination and related treatment of African Americans over the decades may be deeply rooted in American culture. In fact, it can be traced to the Founding Fathers. As history tells us, two of the most famous Founding Fathers owned slaves, and it goes without saying that for one to justify another s enslavement as did wealthy American colonials that person would have to hold to the belief that the slave is by definition, and inferior being. Our first and third presidents: George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were slave owners and their treatment of African Americans is well documented. (Smithsonian, 2015) The dehumanizing way Early Americans treated Africans who were imported as slave labor became universally accepted among the population from the very beginning while still under British rule. For things to move into the right direction, people needed to start making the right moves. Having the president on this side was crucial as well. The leaders needed to know exactly who and what to go for to better the country and prevent it from getting worse for the poor and common people. While not everything was able to get fixed under the progressive movement, it served its purpose and did change a great deal of horrible things going on in the US at the time. There are countless things that the progressive movement had tried to fix. Protecting social welfare was one of its goals. Big issue was the poor communities were not given the same treatment as the middle and upper class communities. For this, Jane Addams took to a poor neighborhood and built a settlement house that provided for the community. Instead of living and working from home, she lived in the house herself to see what these people had to go through in their daily lives. Such reformers believed that only by living among the poor could they help bridge the growing class divide. (Textbook. Pg. 585). Those who believe that tongues can be either foreign languages or heavenly languages have no trouble explaining the relation of Acts 2 to 1 Corn. 12 14. In one instance the tongues were foreign languages and in the other they were heavenly languages, but it was still the same basic phenomenon of Spirit inspired speech. 6 These interpreters have trouble understanding the foreign languages at Pentecost as a miracle, so they suggest that Luke may have added the foreign language motif in order to make the phenomenon more intelligible and rational or in order to emphasize the theological theme that the gospel would be preached to all nations. 7 The heavenly language was and is used to pray to Jesus when we want to have fellowship with Jesus.
