Contribution Of An Ethnographic Research On Friendship
Throughout this essay I will be evaluating the contribution of an ethnographic approach to research on
friendship. I will be looking at, and including evidence to support both sides of the argument as to
whether or not this research method is in fact useful when it comes to gaining knowledge about
friendship. As well as evaluating this method, I will compare it against others to reflect on the
strengths, weaknesses and the typical data collected. I will look at some of the questions about
friendship that have been addressed, and then whether this is the best method or if there are others that
could have been more suitable.
Ethnography is a qualitative method of research in which the researcher takes part in the activities of a
group such that they are able to complete their observations over a period of time in a natural, real life
environment.
When it comes to investigating friendship, one question that has been raised is what is the role of
friendship in the life of a 13 year old? . Several sources of data include ethnographic notes taken
whilst spending time with a group of friends during school lunch breaks and diary/blog entries etc.
Firstly, in this case the researcher would need to carefully consider the strengths and weaknesses of
each type of data, for example, when looking at a blog the information/data available is likely to be
information that the author wants to share with a wider audience whereas a diary entry is more private.

All of the above mentioned facts are what have caused me to believe that the fact that he was decisive
to follow this discretion was appropriate for this case, probably the only way out. Chief Moose may
have saved countless lives by letting the attackers continue with their plan as they developed the

communication system between himself and the snipers. This caused the attackers to get overconfident

In the Famine, Affluence and Morality Peter Singer argued that individuals are morally obligated to
grant most of their belongings to famines. He puts his argument as following. suffering and death from

what a culture or a person values as significant. The epic of Gilgamesh provides insight into the way

What is the item that holds the most value for you? That was the first topic for the essay that I have to
write for my writing class. I value a lot of things that people give me, but the item that I value the

However, when I entered high school, I knew it would be a different story. In the beginning of the
year, teachers grades very leniently just to see where your writing skills are, but as time goes on the
grading of essays becomes harsher and my grades continued to drop. One of my biggest problems in
writing was that I mixed up my verb tenses constantly. I spoke to my teacher and explained my

President Barack Hussein Obama was the forty fourth president elected into office in 2008 and the
first United States president, under the constitution, of African descent. He has worked his way up
from the Illinois State Senate to the US Senate then officially sworn in as president on January 20,
2009. Considering his background in politics, logically, he should be a responsible, trustworthy
candidate for president yet that does not stand for his mentality of how to run a country.He has
portrayed himself as a person of significance by supporting the same sex marriage law, preventing the
unnecessary travel of oil and petroleum, and fighting for paid leave for company employees;
nevertheless, he has caused grief to appear in the families of war participants. Conversely, pre
presidency, Obama promised to end the war of American troops fighting in Afghanistan in the year
2014, he promised to direct revenues from oil drills to increase coastal protection, he also promised to
become a person who unites the American people; however, has this so called president kept any of

IT Systems and many other networking technologies have controlled a large section of our lives. A
substantial amount of people rely on a form of these technologies in day to day life. Communication,
transport, leisure, workplace, health and many other areas are now very reliant on these newer
networking technologies. This has now become a threat to civil framework and has shown us how
vulnerable the systems in place have become. For example as the use of emails has grown there has

In this article the authors take the approach of analyzing three famous ethical theories. They look at
the ethics of virtue by Aristotle, Immanuel Kant s deontological ethics, and John Stuart Mill s
