Injustice Is Too Harsh For Particular Offender
Before a prosecutor decides to charge a person with a crime, three conditions must be met: They find a crime
has been committed; perpetrator has been identified, sufficient evidence to support a guilty verdict (Bethel,
2014). On occasion, a prosecutor may decide not to charge a person even when all three conditions are present.
There are factors for these decisions and some are list here: Offense did not cause sufficient harm; statutory
punishment is too harsh for particular offender; improper motive on part of complainant; Blue–laws (laws
rarely enforced); victim may refuse to testify; humanitarian concerns for welfare of victim or offender;
cooperation of offender to make other arrests or convictions of other offenders; accused is wanted

The Metaphysic Of Abstract Particulars
Introduction: In this paper I will present the arguments for tropes and their distinction from universals and
particulars as presented by Keith Campbell in his paper "The Metaphysic of Abstract Particulars." I will then
present a counter argument to Campbell's evaluation and provide possible responses to those arguments. I will
also provide possible adjustments Campbell could make to create a more sound argument.
Campbell's Argument:
Since Plato, two mutually exclusive yet essential categories of reality have been posited, one of concrete
particulars and the other being abstract universals. Particulars are "unproblematic," but universals may be
entirely extant in many positions with no influence on the universal itself. A particular "distinguishing mark is
that is exhausted in the one embodiment, or occasion, or example." (Campbell 298) Particulars are
unproblematic because they are restricted to a single point at any given time, not like universals which exist in
different locations and are wholly present in those instances. The number of examples which contain the
abstract universals are not diminished in quality of the universal. Campbell posits that this "problem" can be
alleviated if properties were not universal at all. There is a distinction between abstract and concrete which
differs from the distinction between universals and particulars. This is because particulars and universals can
both be abstract where only particulars can be concrete. The particulars that

representations of a particular construction or design project but because they are attractive to look at over a

abstract or visually graphic element when composing the image in the camera view finder. Where the simple
symmetry of architectural design captured by the camera emotionally influences the deepest intricacies of
human imagination. Many contemporary architectural photographers take an 'artistic' approach to their work,
mainly due to the changing requirements from their clients. The successful ones establish a good rapport with

This is a sweeping assumption, as all through the centuries there have been admirers of architecture as art, who
have sponsored architects and artists alike. However, this 'patronage' was usually restricted to the wealthy
ruling classes who had a disposable income to invest in aesthetic projects, as lasting legacies for future
generations. The use of a photograph to analyse and then to evaluate the sense of 'looking', hence the capacity
to appreciate, resulted in photographers becoming a tool of observation. They, the great photographic artists
saw things conceptually that the general public did not realise was in front of them. The photographers invited
the viewers into their voyeuristic world and surprise, surprise a lot of people liked what they saw, which in turn
led to a new significant image rich environment of photo–reproductive art, the architectural photograph
functions radically as art. Architectural photographers are primarily accepted as artists with a camera but within
a client led industry which overlaps into the visual media world of magazines, books and the gallery system.
Few observers can deny that architectural photographs in recent years have attracted interest in the last few
decades and this has resulted complaints from traditionalists that these rapidly evolving new forms of popular
art are overwhelming what is known as established art. New art and this includes modern art and not just

Abstract. Scavenging Information Associated To Particular
ABSTRACT
Scavenging information associated to particular person through search engines is one of the most common
activities on the Internet. Result contains numbers of Web pages, which may be relevant to different person
which includes queried name. Human languages are not correct. Text referring to the city "Roanoke" can mean
"Roanoke, Virginia" or "Roanoke, Texas", depending on the surrounding context. Organizations and companies
often have multiple nicknames, name variations, or common misspellings. Famous persons ("Amitabh
Bachchan") often share a name with many non–famous individuals. In this paper, we propose a similarity
measures system to solve the problem by using cosine similarity which is based on TF and IDF. Web pages

Changing the infrastructure of the current web to the semantic web.
2. Placing the keyword based search engines as the base and doing some modifications to considering the query
and web page context in order to improve their efficiency. There was a big problem over the realization of the
first idea. The problem was that there were already millions of millions documents in current web that should
apply considerable modifications in their structure to express their content in RDF and RDFS .
That's why our proposed architecture follows the second strategy.
The goal of Similarity Measures of web pages using Cosine Similarity is to find similarity between web pages
based on extracted entities. For finding Cosine similarity between web pages we extract entities for each URL
by using alchemy API and then find TF–IDF for each entity and every URL

Plato's Metaphysics: The Conflict between Universals and...
The conflict between universals and particulars boils down to whether or not a universal can exist without
being manifest as a particular. For Plato, universals are paramount to particulars. The world of the forms is
distinct from the illusory mundane world upon which our senses depend. Universals are in fact more real than
the particular forms they might inhabit. Plato's metaphysics allows much more firmly for a worldview like that
shared by Eastern religions like Hinduism, in which the transitory world of our senses is overshadowed by an
unseen dimension that transcends space, time, and even human consciousness. Moreover, Plato's metaphysics
make it easier to understand intangibles like emotions.
However, the Platonic worldview is limited too. Particulars are often the only way philosophers can relate to
universals. Aristotle's metaphysics allow for the existence of universals without negating the importance of the
particulars. Particular, individual manifestations are usually the only way a human being can recognize that a
universal form exists. How would it be possible to know that love exists without being able to quantify the
sensations of love or the existence of actions like affection or altruism? The best way to resolve the conflict
between universals and particulars would be to synthesize them.
It is important to allow for the coexistence of universals and particulars. Science depends on an appreciation for
particulars, but it also strives for broad

Particular Conundrum In Leading Groups
1. How did you deal with your particular conundrum in leading the group (list references and ideas that might
relate to how you handled it)? Did the ideas you gained from the interviews help? Did fixing the conundrum
help lead the group or not?
In my university situation, I used the affiliative style to lead my team, but I did not establish an effective
system for my team. In the beginning, every team member performed well. Moreover, our team had a high
cohesion, and our team's climate was good. Sometimes, I would direct and support them if they have some
questions. However, in the middle of time, the Chinese team member became lazy and tried to get a free ride

newspaper. Even though all of my team members made it, I failed to lead them. Therefore, I should have
different unutilized ways to drive them so that our team could become more efficient.
First, I might make the task more meaningful because the Chinese member might not feel that the graduate
paper matters (James et al., 2008, p. 8). Once I make the graduate paper more meaningful, he will realize the
importance of their efforts. Therefore, he may put more efforts or work harder. Secondly, I should have shown
him what his peers are doing because sometimes the Chinese team member may not be aware of how hard the
other team members work (Tom, 2016, para. 4). Once he knows, he might change his behaviors. Thirdly, I
should have made individual inputs visible (Tom, 2016, para. 5). Therefore, the Chinese team member may do
his work share because he will feel he gets some rewards if he finishes earlier. Fourthly, I should have asked
the Chinese team member some questions and given some advice as well as help. actively. Because of Chinese
culture, Chinese does not like to ask questions. Thus, if I actively give him some assistances, he might tell me

Miss Peregrine's Home For Particular Children
Self–discovery is a common theme throughout literature. One example of it is in the movie Miss Peregrine's
Home for Particular Children. The film shows the theme through the main character Jake. He visits an island to
find the particulars. The particulars are people who have extraordinary traits (ex. One of the characters Olive
has hands that can catch things on fire). Along the way, Jake learns that he is a particular and his journey of
self–discovery starts there. He discovers that his trait is that he can see dangerous creatures called hollows.
Later, Jake has to figure out a plan to keep himself and the other particulars safe from the hollows. In the end,
he saves everyone and decides to live with particulars. This adventure shows self–discovery since Jake goes
from being a simple, fearful boy to a courageous man who had his life on the line to save people. In addition,

The movie's plot centers around an artificial man named Edward. He lived in isolation for the majority of his
life until a woman named Peggy brought him into the real world for the first time. Then Edward had to get used
to living in a suburban town. This film shows self–discovery due to him exploring his ability to cut things. He
started from being a topiarist to almost opening a hair salon. Edward also learns that he's very trusting and
cares more about people's safety over his own. The theme is also shown in an excerpt from The Strange Case of
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The excerpt is about a scientist who does a risky experiment on himself and goes
through a painful change and turns into an alter ego named Edward Hyde. The excerpt shows self–discovery
since Dr, Jekyll went through a journey which leads into the start of his "new life" where he felt "younger,

Political Socialization Is A Particular Type Of Political...
Political Socialization is a particular type of political learning where people develop the attitudes, values,
beliefs, opinions and behaviors that are conducive to becoming a good citizen in their country. With political
socialization there are many factors that are present when these views are formed, many are very apparent like
historical events, and a clear effect such as gender, race, and socio–economics status. My own political views
were formed the same way as everybody else were.
Through the first people I came to know, which were my parents. My parents taught me what the difference
between a democrat and a republican were, what role the president plays in our government, and about our
legislative branches which was based around their own views. When growing up my parents encouraged self–
respect and individuality so, this taught me to think about things own my own and how I felt about them. They
also taught me how to conduct myself on a day–to–day basis. Being taught these things by my parents made
me a very open–minded person and this carries over strongly into how I view politics. I tend to focus on the
single issues that are on the forefront and not on which party is proposing them.
This process could be perceived as "Good" because of the many factors
That are involved in our political culture. Family, education, mass media, and religion are just a few of the
roles that are used in political socialization.

things can get out of hand, but in this case, I feel he went a little overboard only thinking about himself and not
considering the consequences this all had on his ex wife and minor child. He was definitely unprofessional and
even one of the judges said " if someone asks me what vexatious litigation looks like, the former husband's
various filings in this divorce case, especially his antics in these post judgment proceedings, are an excellent
example" (Judge Farmer, 1997). Judges and lawyers have a higher standard to go by, if this type of action is not
tolerated when representing a client, then it definitely should not be tolerated by a lawyer in his own case.

The particular causes of Enron's failure
The particular causes of Enron 's failure are complex. There are lots of issues that have to do with the Enron
collapse. Enron is a company that was called as Houston Natural Gas and then Enteron. It becomes politically
connected player in the new deregulated market of energy. At one time Enron appears to have been a successful
and innovative enterprise, principally engaged in trading and dealing in energy–related contracts. At some point
it expanded by making substantial investments in a variety of large–scale projects. Although some of these
were initially successful, others resulted in Enron incurring large economic losses. Then it appears to have
embarked on covering up losses and manufacturing earnings. This succeeded for a time, but ... Show more

It created so–called special purpose entities (SPEs) like the Chewco and JEDI partnerships to get assets like
power plants off its books. Enron was able to do this because, under standard accounting, a company is allowed
to spin off its assets –– and related debts –– to an SPE if an outside investor has put up capital worth at least
three per cent of the SPE 's total value. These methods also stretched across the lumping of assets into its
trading business and the booking as operating revenues the proceeds of the sale of fixed assets.
Originally, it appears that initially Enron was using Special Purpose Entities appropriately by placing
nonenergy–related business into separate legal entities. What they did wrong was that they apparently tried to
manufacture earnings by manipulating the capital structure of the Special Purpose Entities; hide their losses,
did not have independent outside partners that prevented full disclosure and did not disclose the risks in their
financial statements. Or to put it another way, they got greedy. Any system can be abused and misused. If
management uses nonpublic SPEs as a way to hide debt and manipulate earnings, it will lead to Enron–type
disasters.
Between 1996 and 2000, the energy trading outfit reported an increase in its sales from $13.3 billion to 100.8
billion. In one single accounting year, 1999–2000, Enron

Rhetorical Strategies Are Techniques Writers Use For A...
Rhetorical strategies are techniques writers use for a particular effect. In previous classes, you might have been
introduced to them as "literary devices" – others will be completely new to you. When thinking of language
choices that we make when writing or speaking, think of it like this –– everyone draws from a "toolbox" of
rhetorical strategies as they express ideas and evoke responses in their readers. The more "tricks" of language
that you know, the more effectively you can say what you want in the most effective way. 1. implied metaphor
a comparison between two unlike things in which one thing being compared isn't explicitly stated "When you
got to the table you couldn 't go right to eating, but you had to wait for the widow to tuck down her head and

only everything was cooked by itself. In a barrel of odds and ends it is different; things get mixed up, and the
juice kind of swaps around, and the things go better." (Twain, 1) Huck is referring to the food, though he is
(likely unknowingly) talking about the people in society and how the world is actually better when people are

Universality and the Particular
Universality and the Particular
"History," Gilman writes, "is, or should be, the story of our racial life" (Gilman 216). Eliot is a bit less succinct,
but perhaps he could be most pithily summed up as saying: "The business of the poet is not to find new
emotions, but to use the ordinary ones and, in working them up into poetry, to express feelings which are not in
actual emotions at all" (Eliot 1919, 23). It is not immediately evident what either author means by these
statements, however, they both contain the core of the argument. Both authors have their individual aims and
intents with their writings, however, in spite of the differences, their arguments find more common ground than
disagreement. Their terminology is certainly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eliot implies here that there are some who will quite simply miss the entire point of literature. The distinction
seems slight, however it creates a very different notion of the author. It also raises unanswered questions about
what the basic purpose of literature is if it is meant to be so inaccessible.
In spite of the differences regarding the purpose of literature, Gilman and Eliot seem to agree on the goals of
literature. Both have a sense that literature should somehow be all–inclusive of the human experience. Gilman
is particularly explicit about this as her gender argument rests firmly on the idea that the entirety of humanity
must be represented in literature. It is "the story of our racial life" and is unquestionably all–inclusive (Gilman
216). "The artist, if great enough, has transcended sex; and in the mightier works of the real masters, we find
fiction treating of life, life in general, in all its complex relationships" (222). Interestingly, Gilman seems to
echo Eliot's arguments by "tak[ing] life personally" (220). However, even in her examination of the particular,
she finds herself irresistibly drawn to her conclusions about the universal. "Out of this field of personal life,
with all its emotions, processes, and experiences, fiction arbitrarily selects one emotion, one process, one
experience, mainly of one sex" (220).
Eliot also finds the universal rooted in the particular, though in a much more

The Theory Used For This Particular Family
5. The theory used for this particular family really depends on what was revealed during the assessment. Based
on what Sally stated, her family's weekly schedule is "fairly hectic", which could make attending regular
therapy sessions difficult for everyone. If that is the case, they may benefit from a brief, solution–focused
treatment during which the therapist will work with the family to examine alternatives/solutions to their
presenting problems as opposed to the underlying root(s) of the issue (Trepper, et al., n.d.). While this modality
is not ideal, it would at least provide them with an opportunity to amplify their strengths and resources, which
will assist them towards finding a solution to their issue(s). If the family has more time, a more in–depth
therapy such as Structural Family Therapy (SFT) would be beneficial. SFT, created by Salvador Minuchin,
focuses on how families are organized and what rules govern their transactions. According to Minuchin, a
family 's functionality is based on the how well they adapt to stressors (extra–familial, personal, and/or
developmental) and their ensuing creation of subsystem boundaries. Minuchin believed that boundaries are
characterized along a continuum from enmeshed to semi–diffuse, to permeable, to rigid (Lappin, 1988).
Minuchin noted that the family subsystems – as discussed earlier – are characterized by a hierarchy of power,
typically with the parental–subsystem at the top (Minuchin, Lee, & Simon, 1996). This

you see a car accident you take out your cell phone and dial for help, or when a child is waiting for a ride they
will call their parents to see how far away they are. It is a great convenience for society to be able to do such
things. Imagine if you didn't even have to call somebody to find out where they were. It may seem like a

How GPS Works
GPS works off of twenty–four satellites located 11,000 nautical miles above Earth's surface. These satellites
track receivers, which are on Earth. Receivers can be GPS in a car, a chip located in a cell phone, military
tracking devises, police radios, or even something as every day as a watch. The distance between the satellite
and receiver is measured using the exact distance from six different satellites that locates a particular receiver
on a particular path at the intersection of the two satellites. The exact distance and time that it takes to measure
the distance is tracked and formulated to produce the exact longitudinal and latitudianl axis of the person being
located. As complicated as the mathematical procedures sounds, the radio signals are transmitted
instantaneously and the close approximate location of a subject is known at once.9
Background
The first GPS satellite was created and launched in 1978, it was referred to as Block I (fig.2) 8. The rest of

Tuberculosis : An Infectious Disease Of Particular...
Mycobacterium tuberculosis is an infectious disease of particular interest because although it affects a large
portion of the world's population, there is unfamiliarity with the secretion of M.tuberculosis virulence.
Much is known about Mycobacterium tuberculosis, such as how the bacteria bypasses the human body's
defense system and how certain virulence factors (ESAT–6 and CFP–10) work in the bacteria's specialized
transport system (ESX–1) to deliver substance across the cell envelope. However, the identity of a protein that
interacts with the EccA1, another virulence factor mains unknown. ("W1 Mycobacterium Secretion:
Background Information" 2005)
The overall objective of the project is to identify the proteins that interact with EccA1 using a yeast two–hybrid
assay test and to characterize the particular regions of the proteins that interact. The TB DNA was isolated from
a PCR colony to be used as a template for a PCR reaction. An agarose gel was created and used for
electrophoresis of the DNA. A UV illuminator displayed the image of the agarose gel. Use of the analytic
software such as 4Peaks, the NCBI tools BLAST and CDD, TUBERCULIST, and CLUSTAL Omega. As a
result, the identity of the unknown protein was discovered. Information about the protein, such as the protein's

The World As A Particular Function
The Way of the World serves a particular function. It shows the reality of the world as Congreve perceived it.
The characters within the play display certain behaviors and opinions that are found within the high society of
the Restoration period. Even the names of the characters impart some knowledge. Each character 's name is a
reflection of their personality. For example, Fainall feigns all and Lady Wishfort wishes for it (Congreve 2360).
Their names reflect their personality and behaviors, which teaches various lessons. The play functions as a
window into the world of wealth and power, and shines a light on their behaviors, both positive and negative.
Congreve used his satirical play to make the nobility see the truth of their world, and to show them how their

Creating And Developing A Group Dance Performance With A...
Demonstrate an understanding of the processes involved in creating and developing a group dance performance
with a particular focus on choreography
Introduction
Choreography is the act of creating movement to produce dance. It is a creative process that requires
knowledge of how the process functions (Minton, 2007). Smith–Autard (2010) believes there is a vast
difference between dancing and choreographing. Dancing can be enjoyed for pleasure and the expression of
feeling– but to choreograph movement is to 'create a work of art' (Smith–Autard, 2010: 3). According to
Smith–Autard, (2010) a work of art has to be created with the composer's intention to communicate a theme or
emotion. The movement content is an abstraction from actual feelings of the choreographer, or the character of
the dance that is being portrayed, which creates a representation of the work that is significant to the dance idea
as an entity.
Composition is the bringing together of smaller sections that can be worked on to create one overall piece. The
process of refinement and reflection to develop choreography demonstrates how composition begins as small
sections of movement. Basic compositional elements include space, time and theme (Lambert, 2015).
Improvisation is a way of exploring new methods of movement– it is a method of self–expression and
discovery. Improvisational dance movements came during the 1960′s and 1970′s– where an artistic revolution,
known as the post–modern movement, made the dancer

Why Were These Particular Qualities Appealing To Dadaist?
2. Dada embraced self–expression, impulse, spontaneity and imagination. Why were these particular qualities
appealing to Dadaists as artists and social commentators? Ciaran Bullen. The World at War. To appreciate
Dada, one must first know the context of its time. To truly understand Dada, one must understand the deep pain
of the artists, the ferocity of the disgust toward the bestiality of their supposedly modern world, and the deep
longing for change at the hearts of its various contributors. During the onset of the first world war, many
European artists were horrified at humanities bourgeois and violent nature, the nationalism that consumed its
thoughts, and the authoritarianism that defined it. Early Dadaists were born out of ... Show more content on

As it became popular toward the end of the year of 1916, Cabaret Voltaire proved to be as much as a haven
from the extremities of war as Zurich itself, providing music, dancing, spoken word and all manner of
performance. These early Dadaists were a predictably rebellious bunch not just in principle, but in action. The
nights at the Cabaret Voltaire were loud and raucous affairs, full of experimentation and an embodiment of the
liberty art elicits. The infectious inhibition of those early days gave birth to such imagination and spontaneity in
the artists' self–expression that in it, new shoots of art form and performance were created, such as sound
poetry, which bridges between literary and musical composition, creating verse without the confines of words,
focusing more on phonetic sound as opposed to semantic or syntactic form. Another example can be found in
movement poetry readings, which consisted of the poems being exaggerated with primitive and sharp
movements. Such art was often reflecting the chaos of the world it was born out of, mirroring the emotions of
its enthusiasts by emulating the turmoil of world war one, and the storm that consumed the populations
thoughts, fears and dreams. The audience would often respond by attacking performers, a cruel irony
considering why such provocative art came into being. As such, due to this provocation and capturing of its
audiences imaginations and despite the Cabaret Voltaire being

The Dietary Adjustments Of A Particular Culture
The dietary adjustments of a particular culture is indicative of the cultural impact of another and is frequently
exemplified throughout the colonial history of North America. Indeed, the incorporation of European food
goods, such as alcohol, into the diet of the North American Indigenous Peoples is representative of the
immense influence which the first explorers had on these early tribes (Lunn 1992). Furthermore, the
transitional dietary modifications of the First Nations People of Canada's north is a direct reflection of Western
influence and the European attempt to assimilate these traditional societies according to Western idealism.
Traditional dietary conversions correspond with the establishment and eventual sustainment of the Canadian
North as a welfare state. Significant European influences are discernible within three major stages of socio–
cultural changes in Northern First Nations' food history: the trade–based economic and cultural influence of
Hudson Bay Company during the 19th century; the Canadian government's resettlement of Inuit away from
traditional hunting–gathering communities in the mid–20th century; and the contemporary effects of industrial
society–precipitated climate change on the traditional food supply. These Western influences have contributed
to the traditional peoples' dependence on government management and transitioned the societies of Canada's
North into a welfare state. The purpose of this research essay is to illustrate the connection

British as a great power and what makes it decline. Lastly, it look up the emergence of the United States of

There are a lot of opinion regarding power. Power is basically the ability to influence other. But the easiest way
to measure power of a particular nation is by evaluating its Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The GDP is
derived from the addition of household expenditure, the subtraction of export to import, and government

Since it is a cycle, it does mean that a particular state would not eternally remain at the top of the status
hierarchy. Historically, before the World War 2, the most powerful country is Britain. Then, after the World War

China will replace the US as the most powerful country.
BRITISH AS THE WORLD POWER BEFORE WORLD WAR 2:
British indeed was the world power until the World War 2. British Empire encompass one fourth of the world.
As the saying goes, the sun will never set on British Empire. This really emphasizes how huge British Empire
is. There are lot of factors that made Britain as the most powerful nation on that time.
First and foremost, the factor that makes Britain as a powerful country is its economic growth (Crouzet, A
history of the European Economy, 115). The agricultural revolution provides modal for the farmer to invest in
industrial sector. Britain produce a lot of agriculture products that exceed the domestic demand. This guarantee
the food supply for the workers and Britain don't need to import food. Another factor is the invention of
modern machine. This maximize the production and use least number of force. The machine produce a lot of
product and cause the product to become cheaper. Since the number of production increase, the products can be

Power In Being Particular Essay
The Power in Being Particular
The great taboo in modern culture is to believe too strongly in one opinion or another. There is a great call to
choose sides, be decisive on an issue, carry a flag. We find ourselves in a perpetual game of tug–o–war that
leaves both sides muddied and stagnant. In choosing a side of the rope to pull we forfeit our ability to think for
ourselves, to discern personal values, and to uncover morality that truly speaks to our experience. There is great
wisdom and intelligence in the world, if only we can learn to put down the rope.
In the fast–paced world of internet, cell phones, and television, it becomes increasingly easier to let people

We are better able to discern fact and fiction, love and fear, insecurity and strength. There is an opportunity to
present fresh ideas and perspectives as opposed to recycling concepts that, while useful, have yet to lead us to
any fruitful conclusions. Being particular is not about swaying someone to our side, but in defining personal
perception and applying it to our interaction with the world around us. When we begin to develop the ability to
associate our personal triumphs, mistakes, faults, and value with intelligence and wisdom, we open ourselves to
a greater understanding. We grow in our compassion to forgive ourselves, and others, our ability to listen,
perhaps without understanding, but when we are secure in our personal convictions we no longer have to
understand everything right away. We can be secure enough to slow down, process, and apply emotion, words,
comfort, or condemnation. The power in developing particularity is in the ability to go underneath the
information around us and connect with the wisdom within our individuality. As with all power, there is the
ability to create and grow, or close off and destroy. The greater power to be found in that choice, is the ability
to understand

Gender Role Is The Public Image Of Being A Particular Gender
Gender role: Is the public image of being a particular gender that a person presents to others. Many individuals
perceive men/boys as masculine, in charge, and the superior gender; women/girls are perceived as feminine,
caregivers, and as the inferior gender. Gender roles are the most important aspect in individual's social life,
work life, and home life. How much has gender roles altered since the 1950's? In the 1950's, women did not
truly have a social life. Women's lives were centered around their husband's, their children, and their homes. At
the time, it was socially unacceptable to be bored, so women would go to sewing or quilting clubs. The sewing
and quilting clubs also was a way that women could do more for their families as well. In the 1950's men did
not really have a social life either however men would get to socialize at work when they were not working. In
2016, women have a very different social life. Now women's lives are centered around work, school, and their
family. At the time when women want to socialize the possibilities are nearly endless. There are social media
sites such as Facebook for online socialization. There are coffee shops such as Fiddlers or Starbucks where
women can socialize in person; there are also bars that women can socialize in person. There are also clubs
through work or school that women can socialize at. In 2016, men's and women's social lives are the same men

Anti–virus software was designed to run a specific job of protecting a user's computer system from any threats

work is by a number of ways first by shielding itself, normally starting off with an anti–virus firewall, so it

Individualism is a particular ideology or social understanding that human beings are the most pivotal in nature
and that each individual is presumed to pursue his or her own needs and requirements in order to progress
accordingly. Freedom, respect, equality; these are the values of self–determination and self–reliance which is
what individualism is all about. The father of Classical Liberalism, John Locke as cited by Salvadori (1959)
once said:
"Man being born, as has been proved, with a title to perfect freedom, and an uncontrolled enjoyment of all the
rights and privileges of the law of nature, equally with any other man, or number of men in the world, hath by

Due to this same reason, individuals are political sovereign as well, who are not subjects of any power above
them. This can be understood from the two functions of the government, one negative and one positive. Its
negative function has been to prevent private violence, to protect life and property, to enact criminal law and
secure its enforcement and its positive function was to fulfill of common desires of its citizens as a whole
(Russell, 1996). This ultimately leads to the idea of individual rights such as life, liberty and property which is
naturally ascribed to every adult human being.
However, individualism has its own controversial shortcomings as well. Due to its individualistic perspective,
the independence of human beings are heavily exaggerated which rejects the existence of a society.
Individualism is taken to be an antisocial, atomistic, hedonistic and morally subjectivist account of human life
similar to the philosophy of Thomas Hobbes. This discredits the traditional forms of human community,
dissolving traditional human ties and to impoverish social and cultural relationships. According to Plato cited
by Machan (1998), beings manifest in this world to be imperfect versions of the perfect rendition of this being
in a concrete universal. It is in fact impossible to achieve this superior legacy to its actual estimation of it here
in this world and that

A Particular Leadership and Character Building Experience
A particular leadership and character building experience I would like to highlight is my 5–year participation in
the Southwestern Company Sales Program while in college from age 16 through 20. As Independent Dealer
and Student Manager, I successfully surmounted the obstacles distinctive of the program such as selling door to
door; organizing my own business; working at least 75 hr. a week every week of the summer; recruiting,
training and motivating my own team; and, at the same time, overcoming the language and cultural barriers.
The obstacles I had to face at the age of eighteen were so difficult that very few people in the company thought
I would overcome them. But, I proved them wrong, and in recognition of my achievements, I received awards
such as: the "Sizzler's Trip Award", granted to student dealers with high level of sales during all summer; the "I
Wanna Win Award", won as a result of the level of sales during the last two weeks of the summer; "The
President's Recommendation Award", won for recruiting, motivating and training the largest Mexican Group in
the 100 plus Company´s at age 19; further awards such as "The Salesman Ship Award", "The Gold Seal
Award", membership in "The President's Club" and other recognitions.
The experience of selecting, training and organizing the group in Mexico and preparing them to travel and
work for a summer in the U.S. was very challenging. I had to organize meetings with more than a hundred

The Success of Learning Organisations Is Predicated on...
The success of learning organisations is predicated on particular internal organisational relationships and
particular relationships between the organisation and its environment. Discuss.
The only long term sustained competitive advantage for an organisation came from the ability of its people to
learn faster than those in other organisations and to change the nature of the organisation to match the changes
in the environment. For an organisation to be considered to be learning, it must contain certain characteristics
and operate in certain environment to do so. How the organisation learns will depend on the interaction

Open two–way communication is encouraged; this will create a climate for learning where learning is
facilitated both mentally, by encouraging experimentation and allow mistakes. Open–planned physical space is
desired, because this will help to create an environment which encourages more interaction between employees
and the effect of hierarchy will also be minimised. For an organisation to have learning characteristics, it'll have
to rely on the functioning of internal organisational relationships and how the organisation interacts with its
external environment. Internal organisational relationships have a big impact on how an organisation can
transform into a learning organisation. Most organisations in today's society tend to be more modernist in terms
of its social structure. They make use of the hierarchical structure, the high level of formalization, centralized
decision–making and vertical communication in the form of instructions. This type of mechanistic structure
produces predictability and accountability, but it restrains the level of flexibility, adaptability and the
innovation of the organisations. For an organisation to have learning characteristics, an organic social structure
is favoured over the mechanistic social structure. Organic forms, characterised as informal, decentralised and
requiring high degree of coordination across departments, are more likely to be innovative and to grant greater
discretion to employees

Coevolution With Particular Reference to Herbivory Essay
COEVOLUTION WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO HERBIVORY
Of all the extant organisms in the world, it is believed that terrestrial plants and their natural 'enemies'
constitute more than forty percent. Moreover, plants exhibit a remarkable diversity of supposedly defensive
characteristics including trichomes, spines, silica, secondary chemical compounds, temporal avoidance of
enemies, and structures along with chemicals that attract predators of their natural enemies. In addition, the
exploitation of the plants and their defences is facilitated by a vast number of behavioural, morphological and
physiological adaptations by herbivores
Accounting for this diversity has been a major area of research for nearly a century. The seminal article, ...

What happened in the past might be a different picture to what we have envisaged so far.
Thompson (1999) has proposed that there are crucial components to coevolution. These need to be recognised
before we can fully understand coevolution. Firstly, phylogenetic studies are providing five kinds of data
important in interpreting the historical context of coevolving interactions. 1) Shared traits. Phylogenetic studies
are allowing us to evaluate which traits of interacting species were already present in the hosts ancestors. This
allows us to determine whether traits are coevolved or merely a trait exhibited as a consequence of the
organisms genotype. For example, Yucca plants provide a source of food for host specific Yucca moths, with
which they are believed to have coevolved. Examining the phylogenetic trees of these moths elucidated this.
Most moths in this family (Prodoxidae) exhibited host specificity (Davis et al 1992). Before this technology,
people would have assumed the specificity of the Yucca moth to be a product of the coevolution.
This brings up a useful comment by Vermeij (1994). Almost all inferences about coevolution are derived from
the existence of trends in the expression of traits that function during interactions between species.
Evolutionary trends have often been found by analysing ancestor–dependant relationships within monophyletic
groups, or clades. Although many trends are best sought this way, others cannot in principle be detected

Realism And The Language Of Universals And Particulars
Nominalism and Realism in relation to the Language of Universals and Particulars Merriam Webster
Dictionary defines Nominalism as: "a theory that there are no universal essences in reality and that the mind
can frame no single concept or image corresponding to any universal or general term" on the other hand it
defines realism as: "a doctrine that universals exist outside the mind; specifically: the conception that an
abstract term names an independent and unitary reality" . Throughout the lengthy history of philosophy, and
especially through the medieval time periods, the terminology of "realism" and "nominalism" were used in
opposition to one another. The terms that the conflict was based on dealt with the idea of "universals" versus
"particulars." The nominalist approach is to state that only "particulars" exist around us; they do not
acknowledge the existence of any of what the realists would call a "universal." A realist, on the other hand,
would acknowledge the existence of both "universals" and "particulars": "the debate therefore revolves round
the metaphysical question: what there is?" The debate that is often brought up when discussing the ideas of
nominalism in relation to realism are normally dealing with how certain distinguishing questions or
characteristics are interpreted. The debate constantly dragged back down through linguistics of how individuals
view, experience, and come to know something linguistically; what seems to be the most convoluted is

Different Types Of Groups Formed For Particular Purposes
For every organization, there are different types of groups formed for particular purposes. The most common
groups are; formal, informal, command groups and committees.
For this particular task, the group was a committee made up of members from different departments within the
company. The key players in the committee were drawn from the human resource (HR) assistants/specialists,
the HR management, and the hospital director along with other senior hospital administrators. The members
mentioned above of the committee where called to discuss and assess issues regarding the reason for the
occasional delay in background check investigations within the organization which caused a delay in the hiring
process. Members of the management department handle issues regarding how to better manage this process;
human resource specialist were called to handle the logistical issues and the assistants handle issues of
suppliers and customer while members of the management provide direction and inputs in case of
disagreements.
The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the reason behind the delay in completing background
investigations, which had been undergoing problems in recent times. The meeting was meant to figure out what
was causing delays in the completion of background checks and find solutions to ensure that the issues were

various books and the Internet to briefly explore burglary, prostitution and crime related to a violent nature. I
also wish to include any graphs or statistics I may find of interest and relevance to this essay.
It has been stated that the differences between men and women, and their upbringing, has greatly influenced the
crimes they commit and whether they commit crimes at all. I personally feel that this is a generalisation and
may border on stereotyping and discrimination, for example if you asked people who they thought would

Secondly, as Bowlby suggested, "People who are deprived of motherly affection in their infancy later are likely
to become criminal". Although this cannot be proved we can relate it back to my initial point and conclude that
people deprived of gender specific roles are generally more likely, but not guaranteed, to commit crime.
"The women who are most likely to become criminal are the minority who have been brought up in care, or
who have rejected 'normal' family life".Sociology, 1995.
Furthermore, it is generally believed that during childhood, girls are supervised more closely than boys are and
in turn they do not learn the skills that are required to commit crime. This continues in to adulthood where men
are generally less supervised at work, due to careers in the building industry and driving lorries. So not only are
they free to learn these skills but also to put them into practice and use them. Even though childcare is more of
a shared responsibility nowadays, it is still usually largely regarded in society as a mainly female role. This is
another reason women maybe isolated from certain crimes that men have more opportunity to discover.
One of the most common criminal acts is burglary. It tends to be a "Predominantly male crime". Internet
resource one, 2004.
This can explained as due to this particular crime

Injustice Is Too Harsh For Particular Offender

  • 1. Injustice Is Too Harsh For Particular Offender Before a prosecutor decides to charge a person with a crime, three conditions must be met: They find a crime has been committed; perpetrator has been identified, sufficient evidence to support a guilty verdict (Bethel, 2014). On occasion, a prosecutor may decide not to charge a person even when all three conditions are present. There are factors for these decisions and some are list here: Offense did not cause sufficient harm; statutory punishment is too harsh for particular offender; improper motive on part of complainant; Blue–laws (laws rarely enforced); victim may refuse to testify; humanitarian concerns for welfare of victim or offender; cooperation of offender to make other arrests or convictions of other offenders; accused is wanted ... • 2. The Metaphysic Of Abstract Particulars Introduction: In this paper I will present the arguments for tropes and their distinction from universals and particulars as presented by Keith Campbell in his paper "The Metaphysic of Abstract Particulars." I will then present a counter argument to Campbell's evaluation and provide possible responses to those arguments. I will also provide possible adjustments Campbell could make to create a more sound argument. Campbell's Argument: Since Plato, two mutually exclusive yet essential categories of reality have been posited, one of concrete particulars and the other being abstract universals. Particulars are "unproblematic," but universals may be entirely extant in many positions with no influence on the universal itself. A particular "distinguishing mark is that is exhausted in the one embodiment, or occasion, or example." (Campbell 298) Particulars are unproblematic because they are restricted to a single point at any given time, not like universals which exist in different locations and are wholly present in those instances. The number of examples which contain the abstract universals are not diminished in quality of the universal. Campbell posits that this "problem" can be alleviated if properties were not universal at all. There is a distinction between abstract and concrete which differs from the distinction between universals and particulars. This is because particulars and universals can both be abstract where only particulars can be concrete. The particulars that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Representations Of A Particular Construction Or Design... representations of a particular construction or design project but because they are attractive to look at over a long period of time. The pictures on display are usually the ones where the photographer has incorporated an abstract or visually graphic element when composing the image in the camera view finder. Where the simple symmetry of architectural design captured by the camera emotionally influences the deepest intricacies of human imagination. Many contemporary architectural photographers take an 'artistic' approach to their work, mainly due to the changing requirements from their clients. The successful ones establish a good rapport with the architects and both collaborate in establishing the concepts for the capturing of the essence ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is a sweeping assumption, as all through the centuries there have been admirers of architecture as art, who have sponsored architects and artists alike. However, this 'patronage' was usually restricted to the wealthy ruling classes who had a disposable income to invest in aesthetic projects, as lasting legacies for future generations. The use of a photograph to analyse and then to evaluate the sense of 'looking', hence the capacity to appreciate, resulted in photographers becoming a tool of observation. They, the great photographic artists saw things conceptually that the general public did not realise was in front of them. The photographers invited the viewers into their voyeuristic world and surprise, surprise a lot of people liked what they saw, which in turn led to a new significant image rich environment of photo–reproductive art, the architectural photograph functions radically as art. Architectural photographers are primarily accepted as artists with a camera but within a client led industry which overlaps into the visual media world of magazines, books and the gallery system. Few observers can deny that architectural photographs in recent years have attracted interest in the last few decades and this has resulted complaints from traditionalists that these rapidly evolving new forms of popular art are overwhelming what is known as established art. New art and this includes modern art and not just ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Abstract. Scavenging Information Associated To Particular ABSTRACT Scavenging information associated to particular person through search engines is one of the most common activities on the Internet. Result contains numbers of Web pages, which may be relevant to different person which includes queried name. Human languages are not correct. Text referring to the city "Roanoke" can mean "Roanoke, Virginia" or "Roanoke, Texas", depending on the surrounding context. Organizations and companies often have multiple nicknames, name variations, or common misspellings. Famous persons ("Amitabh Bachchan") often share a name with many non–famous individuals. In this paper, we propose a similarity measures system to solve the problem by using cosine similarity which is based on TF and IDF. Web pages having ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Changing the infrastructure of the current web to the semantic web. 2. Placing the keyword based search engines as the base and doing some modifications to considering the query and web page context in order to improve their efficiency. There was a big problem over the realization of the first idea. The problem was that there were already millions of millions documents in current web that should apply considerable modifications in their structure to express their content in RDF and RDFS . That's why our proposed architecture follows the second strategy. The goal of Similarity Measures of web pages using Cosine Similarity is to find similarity between web pages based on extracted entities. For finding Cosine similarity between web pages we extract entities for each URL by using alchemy API and then find TF–IDF for each entity and every URL II. LITERATURE REVIEW Many different approaches have been applied to the basic problem of disambiguation of people and document ranking they are as follows. 1.Using dependency structure for prioritization of functional test suites [5]in this paper, they proposed a new test case prioritization technique that uses the dependency information from the test suites to prioritize. Dependency structure prioritization technique includes four algorithms for prioritizing. The open dependency proves to have lower execution cost and closed dependency achieved better fault ... • 5. Plato's Metaphysics: The Conflict between Universals and... The conflict between universals and particulars boils down to whether or not a universal can exist without being manifest as a particular. For Plato, universals are paramount to particulars. The world of the forms is distinct from the illusory mundane world upon which our senses depend. Universals are in fact more real than the particular forms they might inhabit. Plato's metaphysics allows much more firmly for a worldview like that shared by Eastern religions like Hinduism, in which the transitory world of our senses is overshadowed by an unseen dimension that transcends space, time, and even human consciousness. Moreover, Plato's metaphysics make it easier to understand intangibles like emotions. However, the Platonic worldview is limited too. Particulars are often the only way philosophers can relate to universals. Aristotle's metaphysics allow for the existence of universals without negating the importance of the particulars. Particular, individual manifestations are usually the only way a human being can recognize that a universal form exists. How would it be possible to know that love exists without being able to quantify the sensations of love or the existence of actions like affection or altruism? The best way to resolve the conflict between universals and particulars would be to synthesize them. It is important to allow for the coexistence of universals and particulars. Science depends on an appreciation for particulars, but it also strives for broad ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Particular Conundrum In Leading Groups 1. How did you deal with your particular conundrum in leading the group (list references and ideas that might relate to how you handled it)? Did the ideas you gained from the interviews help? Did fixing the conundrum help lead the group or not? In my university situation, I used the affiliative style to lead my team, but I did not establish an effective system for my team. In the beginning, every team member performed well. Moreover, our team had a high cohesion, and our team's climate was good. Sometimes, I would direct and support them if they have some questions. However, in the middle of time, the Chinese team member became lazy and tried to get a free ride because I did his work share. Therefore, he did not want to do any assignment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A discussion of how successful the project was and how you might have lead the project more effectively. The result of my graduate paper was successful because not only did we finish on time but also we publish it to a newspaper. Even though all of my team members made it, I failed to lead them. Therefore, I should have different unutilized ways to drive them so that our team could become more efficient. First, I might make the task more meaningful because the Chinese member might not feel that the graduate paper matters (James et al., 2008, p. 8). Once I make the graduate paper more meaningful, he will realize the importance of their efforts. Therefore, he may put more efforts or work harder. Secondly, I should have shown him what his peers are doing because sometimes the Chinese team member may not be aware of how hard the other team members work (Tom, 2016, para. 4). Once he knows, he might change his behaviors. Thirdly, I should have made individual inputs visible (Tom, 2016, para. 5). Therefore, the Chinese team member may do his work share because he will feel he gets some rewards if he finishes earlier. Fourthly, I should have asked the Chinese team member some questions and given some advice as well as help. actively. Because of Chinese culture, Chinese does not like to ask questions. Thus, if I actively give him some assistances, he might tell me his tough. Once, he feels free to ask or tell me some things; I might be able to motivate him and increase his preference. ... The film shows the theme through the main character Jake. He visits an island to find the particulars. The particulars are people who have extraordinary traits (ex. One of the characters Olive has hands that can catch things on fire). Along the way, Jake learns that he is a particular and his journey of self–discovery starts there. He discovers that his trait is that he can see dangerous creatures called hollows. Later, Jake has to figure out a plan to keep himself and the other particulars safe from the hollows. In the end, he saves everyone and decides to live with particulars. Enron is a company that was called as Houston Natural Gas and then Enteron. It becomes politically connected player in the new deregulated market of energy. At one time Enron appears to have been a successful and innovative enterprise, principally engaged in trading and dealing in energy–related contracts. At some point it expanded by making substantial investments in a variety of large–scale projects. Although some of these were initially successful, others resulted in Enron incurring large economic losses. Then it appears to have embarked on covering up losses and manufacturing earnings. This succeeded for a time, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It created so–called special purpose entities (SPEs) like the Chewco and JEDI partnerships to get assets like power plants off its books. Enron was able to do this because, under standard accounting, a company is allowed to spin off its assets –– and related debts –– to an SPE if an outside investor has put up capital worth at least three per cent of the SPE 's total value. These methods also stretched across the lumping of assets into its trading business and the booking as operating revenues the proceeds of the sale of fixed assets. Originally, it appears that initially Enron was using Special Purpose Entities appropriately by placing nonenergy–related business into separate legal entities. What they did wrong was that they apparently tried to manufacture earnings by manipulating the capital structure of the Special Purpose Entities; hide their losses, did not have independent outside partners that prevented full disclosure and did not disclose the risks in their financial statements. Or to put it another way, they got greedy. Any system can be abused and misused. If management uses nonpublic SPEs as a way to hide debt and manipulate earnings, it will lead to Enron–type disasters. Between 1996 and 2000, the energy trading outfit reported an increase in its sales from $13.3 billion to 100.8 billion. In one single accounting year, 1999–2000, Enron ... In previous classes, you might have been introduced to them as "literary devices" – others will be completely new to you. When thinking of language choices that we make when writing or speaking, think of it like this –– everyone draws from a "toolbox" of rhetorical strategies as they express ideas and evoke responses in their readers. The more "tricks" of language that you know, the more effectively you can say what you want in the most effective way. 1. implied metaphor a comparison between two unlike things in which one thing being compared isn't explicitly stated "When you got to the table you couldn 't go right to eating, but you had to wait for the widow to tuck down her head and grumble a little over the victuals, though there warn 't really anything the matter with them, –– that is, nothing only everything was cooked by itself. The distinction seems slight, however it creates a very different notion of the author. It also raises unanswered questions about what the basic purpose of literature is if it is meant to be so inaccessible. In spite of the differences regarding the purpose of literature, Gilman and Eliot seem to agree on the goals of literature. Both have a sense that literature should somehow be all–inclusive of the human experience. Gilman is particularly explicit about this as her gender argument rests firmly on the idea that the entirety of humanity must be represented in literature. It is "the story of our racial life" and is unquestionably all–inclusive (Gilman 216). "The artist, if great enough, has transcended sex; and in the mightier works of the real masters, we find fiction treating of life, life in general, in all its complex relationships" (222). Interestingly, Gilman seems to echo Eliot's arguments by "tak[ing] life personally" (220). However, even in her examination of the particular, she finds herself irresistibly drawn to her conclusions about the universal. "Out of this field of personal life, with all its emotions, processes, and experiences, fiction arbitrarily selects one emotion, one process, one experience, mainly of one sex" (220). • 16. The Theory Used For This Particular Family 5. The theory used for this particular family really depends on what was revealed during the assessment. Based on what Sally stated, her family's weekly schedule is "fairly hectic", which could make attending regular therapy sessions difficult for everyone. If that is the case, they may benefit from a brief, solution–focused treatment during which the therapist will work with the family to examine alternatives/solutions to their presenting problems as opposed to the underlying root(s) of the issue (Trepper, et al., n.d.). While this modality is not ideal, it would at least provide them with an opportunity to amplify their strengths and resources, which will assist them towards finding a solution to their issue(s). If the family has more time, a more in–depth therapy such as Structural Family Therapy (SFT) would be beneficial. SFT, created by Salvador Minuchin, focuses on how families are organized and what rules govern their transactions. According to Minuchin, a family 's functionality is based on the how well they adapt to stressors (extra–familial, personal, and/or developmental) and their ensuing creation of subsystem boundaries. Minuchin believed that boundaries are characterized along a continuum from enmeshed to semi–diffuse, to permeable, to rigid (Lappin, 1988). Minuchin noted that the family subsystems – as discussed earlier – are characterized by a hierarchy of power, typically with the parental–subsystem at the top (Minuchin, Lee, & Simon, 1996). This ... The distance between the satellite and receiver is measured using the exact distance from six different satellites that locates a particular receiver on a particular path at the intersection of the two satellites. The exact distance and time that it takes to measure the distance is tracked and formulated to produce the exact longitudinal and latitudianl axis of the person being located. The characters within the play display certain behaviors and opinions that are found within the high society of the Restoration period. Even the names of the characters impart some knowledge. Each character 's name is a reflection of their personality. For example, Fainall feigns all and Lady Wishfort wishes for it (Congreve 2360). Their names reflect their personality and behaviors, which teaches various lessons. The play functions as a window into the world of wealth and power, and shines a light on their behaviors, both positive and negative. Congreve used his satirical play to make the nobility see the truth of their world, and to show them how their way affects social relations. As the hero of the story, Mirabell 's behavior and personality is a very important factor in the play 's function. His "primary motive throughout the play is to protect his relationship with Millamant" (Rosowski 402). • 22. Creating And Developing A Group Dance Performance With A... Demonstrate an understanding of the processes involved in creating and developing a group dance performance with a particular focus on choreography Introduction Choreography is the act of creating movement to produce dance. It is a creative process that requires knowledge of how the process functions (Minton, 2007). Smith–Autard (2010) believes there is a vast difference between dancing and choreographing. Dancing can be enjoyed for pleasure and the expression of feeling– but to choreograph movement is to 'create a work of art' (Smith–Autard, 2010: 3). According to Smith–Autard, (2010) a work of art has to be created with the composer's intention to communicate a theme or emotion. The movement content is an abstraction from actual feelings of the choreographer, or the character of the dance that is being portrayed, which creates a representation of the work that is significant to the dance idea as an entity. Composition is the bringing together of smaller sections that can be worked on to create one overall piece. The process of refinement and reflection to develop choreography demonstrates how composition begins as small sections of movement. Basic compositional elements include space, time and theme (Lambert, 2015). Improvisation is a way of exploring new methods of movement– it is a method of self–expression and discovery. Improvisational dance movements came during the 1960′s and 1970′s– where an artistic revolution, known as the post–modern movement, made the dancer ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Why were these particular qualities appealing to Dadaists as artists and social commentators? Ciaran Bullen. The World at War. To appreciate Dada, one must first know the context of its time. To truly understand Dada, one must understand the deep pain of the artists, the ferocity of the disgust toward the bestiality of their supposedly modern world, and the deep longing for change at the hearts of its various contributors. These early Dadaists were a predictably rebellious bunch not just in principle, but in action. The nights at the Cabaret Voltaire were loud and raucous affairs, full of experimentation and an embodiment of the liberty art elicits. The infectious inhibition of those early days gave birth to such imagination and spontaneity in the artists' self–expression that in it, new shoots of art form and performance were created, such as sound poetry, which bridges between literary and musical composition, creating verse without the confines of words, focusing more on phonetic sound as opposed to semantic or syntactic form. Another example can be found in movement poetry readings, which consisted of the poems being exaggerated with primitive and sharp movements. Such art was often reflecting the chaos of the world it was born out of, mirroring the emotions of its enthusiasts by emulating the turmoil of world war one, and the storm that consumed the populations thoughts, fears and dreams. The Dietary Adjustments Of A Particular Culture The dietary adjustments of a particular culture is indicative of the cultural impact of another and is frequently exemplified throughout the colonial history of North America. Indeed, the incorporation of European food goods, such as alcohol, into the diet of the North American Indigenous Peoples is representative of the immense influence which the first explorers had on these early tribes (Lunn 1992). Furthermore, the transitional dietary modifications of the First Nations People of Canada's north is a direct reflection of Western influence and the European attempt to assimilate these traditional societies according to Western idealism. Traditional dietary conversions correspond with the establishment and eventual sustainment of the Canadian North as a welfare state. Significant European influences are discernible within three major stages of socio– cultural changes in Northern First Nations' food history: the trade–based economic and cultural influence of Hudson Bay Company during the 19th century; the Canadian government's resettlement of Inuit away from traditional hunting–gathering communities in the mid–20th century; and the contemporary effects of industrial society–precipitated climate change on the traditional food supply. First and foremost, the factor that makes Britain as a powerful country is its economic growth (Crouzet, A history of the European Economy, 115). • 28. Power In Being Particular Essay The Power in Being Particular The great taboo in modern culture is to believe too strongly in one opinion or another. There is a great call to choose sides, be decisive on an issue, carry a flag. We find ourselves in a perpetual game of tug–o–war that leaves both sides muddied and stagnant. In choosing a side of the rope to pull we forfeit our ability to think for ourselves, to discern personal values, and to uncover morality that truly speaks to our experience. There is great wisdom and intelligence in the world, if only we can learn to put down the rope. In the fast–paced world of internet, cell phones, and television, it becomes increasingly easier to let people think for you. Almost any stand someone takes on any issue there are statistics, ... There is an opportunity to present fresh ideas and perspectives as opposed to recycling concepts that, while useful, have yet to lead us to any fruitful conclusions. Being particular is not about swaying someone to our side, but in defining personal perception and applying it to our interaction with the world around us. When we begin to develop the ability to associate our personal triumphs, mistakes, faults, and value with intelligence and wisdom, we open ourselves to a greater understanding. We grow in our compassion to forgive ourselves, and others, our ability to listen, perhaps without understanding, but when we are secure in our personal convictions we no longer have to understand everything right away. We can be secure enough to slow down, process, and apply emotion, words, comfort, or condemnation. The power in developing particularity is in the ability to go underneath the information around us and connect with the wisdom within our individuality. As with all power, there is the ability to create and grow, or close off and destroy. The greater power to be found in that choice, is the ability to understand ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many individuals perceive men/boys as masculine, in charge, and the superior gender; women/girls are perceived as feminine, caregivers, and as the inferior gender. Gender roles are the most important aspect in individual's social life, work life, and home life. How much has gender roles altered since the 1950's? The first study has tested two different approaches on subjects, and neither were helpful in determining the validity of a memory. But there was software that was made named "antivirus software" which come with pros and cons. Anti–virus software was designed to run a specific job of protecting a user's computer system from any threats obtained from the internet or even files that may be downloaded of the internet or any external source. How it work is by a number of ways first by shielding itself, normally starting off with an anti–virus firewall, so it scans files eliminates threats and informs you if a website is safe or not. The software would need to connect with the main server through the internet, so to be able to gain information of any new viruses that are brand new to be able to protect your computer system. • 32. Individualism is a particular ideology or social... Individualism is a particular ideology or social understanding that human beings are the most pivotal in nature and that each individual is presumed to pursue his or her own needs and requirements in order to progress accordingly. Freedom, respect, equality; these are the values of self–determination and self–reliance which is what individualism is all about. The father of Classical Liberalism, John Locke as cited by Salvadori (1959) once said: "Man being born, as has been proved, with a title to perfect freedom, and an uncontrolled enjoyment of all the rights and privileges of the law of nature, equally with any other man, or number of men in the world, hath by nature a power, not only to preserve his property, that is, his life, liberty ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Due to this same reason, individuals are political sovereign as well, who are not subjects of any power above them. This can be understood from the two functions of the government, one negative and one positive. Its negative function has been to prevent private violence, to protect life and property, to enact criminal law and secure its enforcement and its positive function was to fulfill of common desires of its citizens as a whole (Russell, 1996). This ultimately leads to the idea of individual rights such as life, liberty and property which is naturally ascribed to every adult human being. However, individualism has its own controversial shortcomings as well. Due to its individualistic perspective, the independence of human beings are heavily exaggerated which rejects the existence of a society. Individualism is taken to be an antisocial, atomistic, hedonistic and morally subjectivist account of human life similar to the philosophy of Thomas Hobbes. This discredits the traditional forms of human community, dissolving traditional human ties and to impoverish social and cultural relationships. According to Plato cited by Machan (1998), beings manifest in this world to be imperfect versions of the perfect rendition of this being in a concrete universal. A Particular Leadership and Character Building Experience A particular leadership and character building experience I would like to highlight is my 5–year participation in the Southwestern Company Sales Program while in college from age 16 through 20. As Independent Dealer and Student Manager, I successfully surmounted the obstacles distinctive of the program such as selling door to door; organizing my own business; working at least 75 hr. a week every week of the summer; recruiting, training and motivating my own team; and, at the same time, overcoming the language and cultural barriers. The obstacles I had to face at the age of eighteen were so difficult that very few people in the company thought I would overcome them. But, I proved them wrong, and in recognition of my achievements, I received awards such as: the "Sizzler's Trip Award", granted to student dealers with high level of sales during all summer; the "I Wanna Win Award", won as a result of the level of sales during the last two weeks of the summer; "The President's Recommendation Award", won for recruiting, motivating and training the largest Mexican Group in the 100 plus Company´s at age 19; further awards such as "The Salesman Ship Award", "The Gold Seal Award", membership in "The President's Club" and other recognitions. The success of learning organisations is predicated on particular internal organisational relationships and particular relationships between the organisation and its environment. Discuss. The only long term sustained competitive advantage for an organisation came from the ability of its people to learn faster than those in other organisations and to change the nature of the organisation to match the changes in the environment. For an organisation to be considered to be learning, it must contain certain characteristics and operate in certain environment to do so. How the organisation learns will depend on the interaction between individuals within the organisation and the interaction between the organisation and its external ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Open two–way communication is encouraged; this will create a climate for learning where learning is facilitated both mentally, by encouraging experimentation and allow mistakes. Open–planned physical space is desired, because this will help to create an environment which encourages more interaction between employees and the effect of hierarchy will also be minimised. For an organisation to have learning characteristics, it'll have to rely on the functioning of internal organisational relationships and how the organisation interacts with its external environment. Internal organisational relationships have a big impact on how an organisation can transform into a learning organisation. Most organisations in today's society tend to be more modernist in terms of its social structure. They make use of the hierarchical structure, the high level of formalization, centralized decision–making and vertical communication in the form of instructions. This type of mechanistic structure produces predictability and accountability, but it restrains the level of flexibility, adaptability and the innovation of the organisations. For an organisation to have learning characteristics, an organic social structure is favoured over the mechanistic social structure. Organic forms, characterised as informal, decentralised and requiring high degree of coordination across departments, are more likely to be innovative and to grant greater discretion to employees ... • 35. Coevolution With Particular Reference to Herbivory Essay COEVOLUTION WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO HERBIVORY Of all the extant organisms in the world, it is believed that terrestrial plants and their natural 'enemies' constitute more than forty percent. Moreover, plants exhibit a remarkable diversity of supposedly defensive characteristics including trichomes, spines, silica, secondary chemical compounds, temporal avoidance of enemies, and structures along with chemicals that attract predators of their natural enemies. In addition, the exploitation of the plants and their defences is facilitated by a vast number of behavioural, morphological and physiological adaptations by herbivores Accounting for this diversity has been a major area of research for nearly a century. The seminal article, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What happened in the past might be a different picture to what we have envisaged so far. Thompson (1999) has proposed that there are crucial components to coevolution. These need to be recognised before we can fully understand coevolution. Firstly, phylogenetic studies are providing five kinds of data important in interpreting the historical context of coevolving interactions. 1) Shared traits. Phylogenetic studies are allowing us to evaluate which traits of interacting species were already present in the hosts ancestors. This allows us to determine whether traits are coevolved or merely a trait exhibited as a consequence of the organisms genotype. For example, Yucca plants provide a source of food for host specific Yucca moths, with which they are believed to have coevolved. Examining the phylogenetic trees of these moths elucidated this. Most moths in this family (Prodoxidae) exhibited host specificity (Davis et al 1992). Before this technology, people would have assumed the specificity of the Yucca moth to be a product of the coevolution. This brings up a useful comment by Vermeij (1994). Almost all inferences about coevolution are derived from the existence of trends in the expression of traits that function during interactions between species. Evolutionary trends have often been found by analysing ancestor–dependant relationships within monophyletic groups, or clades. Although many trends are best sought this way, others cannot in principle be detected ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Realism And The Language Of Universals And Particulars Nominalism and Realism in relation to the Language of Universals and Particulars Merriam Webster Dictionary defines Nominalism as: "a theory that there are no universal essences in reality and that the mind can frame no single concept or image corresponding to any universal or general term" on the other hand it defines realism as: "a doctrine that universals exist outside the mind; specifically: the conception that an abstract term names an independent and unitary reality" . Throughout the lengthy history of philosophy, and especially through the medieval time periods, the terminology of "realism" and "nominalism" were used in opposition to one another. The terms that the conflict was based on dealt with the idea of "universals" versus "particulars." The nominalist approach is to state that only "particulars" exist around us; they do not acknowledge the existence of any of what the realists would call a "universal." A realist, on the other hand, would acknowledge the existence of both "universals" and "particulars": "the debate therefore revolves round the metaphysical question: what there is?" The debate that is often brought up when discussing the ideas of nominalism in relation to realism are normally dealing with how certain distinguishing questions or characteristics are interpreted. The debate constantly dragged back down through linguistics of how individuals view, experience, and come to know something linguistically; what seems to be the most convoluted is ... The most common groups are; formal, informal, command groups and committees. For this particular task, the group was a committee made up of members from different departments within the company. The key players in the committee were drawn from the human resource (HR) assistants/specialists, the HR management, and the hospital director along with other senior hospital administrators. The members mentioned above of the committee where called to discuss and assess issues regarding the reason for the occasional delay in background check investigations within the organization which caused a delay in the hiring process. Members of the management department handle issues regarding how to better manage this process; human resource specialist were called to handle the logistical issues and the assistants handle issues of suppliers and customer while members of the management provide direction and inputs in case of disagreements. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the reason behind the delay in completing background investigations, which had been undergoing problems in recent times. I intend to do this by using various books and the Internet to briefly explore burglary, prostitution and crime related to a violent nature. I also wish to include any graphs or statistics I may find of interest and relevance to this essay. It has been stated that the differences between men and women, and their upbringing, has greatly influenced the crimes they commit and whether they commit crimes at all. I personally feel that this is a generalisation and may border on stereotyping and discrimination, for example if you asked people who they thought would commit an offence related to football hooliganism ... Although this cannot be proved we can relate it back to my initial point and conclude that people deprived of gender specific roles are generally more likely, but not guaranteed, to commit crime. "The women who are most likely to become criminal are the minority who have been brought up in care, or who have rejected 'normal' family life".Sociology, 1995. Furthermore, it is generally believed that during childhood, girls are supervised more closely than boys are and in turn they do not learn the skills that are required to commit crime. This continues in to adulthood where men are generally less supervised at work, due to careers in the building industry and driving lorries. So not only are they free to learn these skills but also to put them into practice and use them. Even though childcare is more of a shared responsibility nowadays, it is still usually largely regarded in society as a mainly female role. This is another reason women maybe isolated from certain crimes that men have more opportunity to discover. One of the most common criminal acts is burglary. It tends to be a "Predominantly male crime". Internet resource one, 2004. This can explained as due to this particular crime ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
