Assignment 3: When You Win SLO #3 If I were elected in the Texas House of Representatives to
represent my district, district 115, I plan to serve on the Economic Small Business Development
Committee, the Homeland Security Public Safety Committee, and the Public Education Committee. 2
In the Texas legislature, there are procedural and substantive committees. Procedural committees are
influential in the legislative process as they regulate the operations and functioning of the house.
These committees do not deal with the substance of public policy as this is the focus of the substantive

support Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) programs. I hope to propose a

support for this bill, I will present it to the legislation and seek public support to get the bill passed and
ultimately implemented in my district. 5 This process will not be easy; however, I will make it a top
priority to complete this objective one way or another while in office. To promote my home style, I

Reasons Behind Head Shaving In The United States
The act of head shaving ranges from pure laziness to punishment, to identifying oneself. Here in
America it is common to see people with shaved heads but there are some cultures or tribes that don t
allow their members to shave their head let alone any part of their body. But in cultures that do the
reasons behind head shaving are plenty.
There are quite a few reasons the military in countries such as the United States, Russia and several
other countries have their soldiers shave their heads, not completely, but short. For example, on D Day
many allied soldiers shaved their heads so that Germans wouldn t have anything to grab onto during
close encounters. Often, when people see military men on the streets with little to no hair they

Siddhartha by Herman Hesse
Herman Hesse s novel Siddhartha is a spiritual book about a man who finds himself , during the time
when the teachings of Buddha started to evolve. Throughout this spiritual novel, there are many
recurring symbols, themes, and strong bonds between the characters.
2. Other than the ferryman Vasudeva helping Siddhartha, the river helps Siddhartha with his path
toward enlightenment. The river serves as the instructor in Siddhartha s journey when he abandons his
wealth and leaves the Samanas. The river is like life, it flows in a certain direction, depending on the
journey you want to take. The function of the river is that it will give one answers depending on the
direction it takes. Because of the philosophical meaning of the river, if one understands it, they will
achieve enlightenment. Vasudeva s philosophical belief is that one must listen to the river for answers.
The river provides one with knowledge without words. Siddhartha s reward for listening to the river is
that he will have a true understanding of reality. Event though Vasudeva told Siddhartha to listen to the
river by his philosophical belief, Siddhartha achieved the meaning of reality of on his own. In reality ,
the river was the instruction because it shared it s knowledge with Siddhartha how to achieve
enlightenment, while the ferryman just pointed him in the right direction. In the end Siddhartha
becomes the ferryman, and Vasudeva retires. Hence now that Siddhartha has true knowledge, he

British Airlines and Air India
India and the UK have a great deal in common. Right from our Parliamentary system of democracy to
our judicial system, our bureaucracy to now, the common travails of our flag carriers, British Airways
(BA) and Air India (AI).
BA, according to its chief executive, Willie Walsh, is in a fight for survival much like our own AI. As
with the latter, BA has a bloated workforce, awful finances, a huge debt, all problems that characterize
AI as well. And, in an uncanny parallel, AI s latest offer of unpaid leave to its staff mirrors a similar
offer made earlier by BA.
But there the comparison ends. BA is no longer state owned, having been privatised back in 1987. AI,
in contrast, is 100% state owned. And that says it all
British Airways (BA) is the flag carrier airline of the United Kingdom and its biggest airline based on
fleet size, international flights and international destinations. When measured by passengers carried it
is second largest, behind easy Jet. The airline is based in Waterside near its main hub at London
Heathrow Airport.
A British Airways Board was established by the United Kingdom government in 1972 to manage the
two nationalized airline corporations, British Overseas Airways Corporation and British European
Airways, and two smaller, regional airlines, Cambrian Airways, from Cardiff, and Northeast Airlines,
from Newcastle upon Tyne. On 31 March 1974, all four companies were combined to form British
Airways. After almost 13 years as a state company, British

Judicial Overhaul
If the opportunity to implement a new judicial body were to arise, there would be a great deal of
components required to formulate a new judicial body. Drawing from different states in America, a
conglomerate of components would be called into service to draft this new body. The states in
question that will be used in this reformat will be the states of, Florida, Texas, and Illinois. These
states contain a simplified and durable judicial hierarchy. Successful implementation of these ideals
are very likely if they were to occur.

rich with an abundance of flora and fauna. Life truly feeds on life in this exotic isle. The
commonwealth has beard homage to some of the world s greatest composers, novelists, poets and
artists. Inspired by the aesthetic wealth of this land, it comes to no surprise that these philanthropists
were so successful in enriching the now blossoming culture that is now Puerto Rico. The islands

This island has gone through a great deal of conflict over time. While the land inspires a serine bliss,
there is a great deal of political history that has reconstituted Puerto Ricos destiny as an isle, and as

Napoleon Bonaparte Moral Responsibility
Moral responsibility is the status of morally deserving praise, blame, reward, or punishment for an act
or omission, in accordance with one s moral obligations. Since the foretelling of history began, many
historians have placed their biased opinion on important events that took place in the past. This can
mean leaving out relevant information about an important event or person which causes an altered
understanding on the subject. Historians are faced with many different types of evidence regarding an
event that took place in the past. As a result they can choose what they want to ignore or accept based
off of their personal morals. It is not appropriate for historians to distribute moral responsibility on
events that took place in the past ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the events that took place while Napoleon Bonaparte was the emperor of France, may
have caused historians to have different points of views about his role as a leader. Historians that live
in France today may characterize Napoleon in different ways that historians in other parts of the world
would not. The historians that support Napoleon would tend to over emphasize his skill and talent as a
military leader and highlight all that he did to benefit France. The French considered Napoleon to be
their savior for resolving the French Revolution and implementing a more stable government.
Napoleon said that a leader is a dealer of hope. Napoleon said this to let his citizens know that he
would give them optimism and not let them down. They also admire him because of The Napoleonic
Code. Since feudalism was removed from France, they had been without laws since the end of the
revolution. The code was based off of the Justinian s Code which was apart of Roman Law. The
Napoleonic Code was divided into three categories; one s personal status, property, and the acquisition
of property. However, Napoleon s achievements may be ignored by a historian that is from a different
part of the world. That historian could entice people to dislike Napoleon by focusing on the negative
aspects of his reign. They would most likely emphasize the Napoleonic Wars, which lasted for 12
years. Also they may bring up the fact that five 500,000 out of 600,000 troops that he sent into Russia
were slaughtered because he failed to notice that the Russians had been tricking him into coming
further and further into Russia. In doing so, the Russians slowly picked off his troops one by one. By
letting their moral beliefs influence what facts they include in their accounts of Napoleon, historians
fail to report an accurate record of his

The Enticing Paradox In Paul Simon s The Sound Of Silence
Exploring the inner turmoil of the human soul is a fascinating subject that has captivated members of
academia since the dawn of metacognition. Paul Simon writes a beautiful, harmonious piece of
timeless art known as The Sound of Silence, which is almost whispered, in song, by Art Garfunkel.
Paul Simon, by using the enticing paradox: the sound of silence , the clever use of light to describe the
false hope society places on external forces, as well as a plethora of other paradoxes and metaphors,
such as a growing seed, urges people to cease looking to extraneous solutions to answer their internal
quarrels, and begin instead, looking within themselves for the answers they seek.
Simon kicks off this incredible introspection by depicting his inner quarrels as a vision that started as a
seed that is planted in his brain . This metaphor is especially enticing because it expresses that which
all people are aware: leaving a thought unanswered will cause the individual to be consumed with
curiosity, until they decide to seek the answer, no matter through what means that may ... Show more

a piercing neon light that split the night . Starting to observe the people worshipping this neon god ,
Paul Simon depicts the actions of the misguided crowd with powerful paradoxes: describing that they
talk without speaking , hear without listening , and write songs that voices never share . This depiction
of society explores the meaninglessness of solving intimate problems with general answers: these ten
thousand people are all paying homage to their neon god , hoping that this will solve their growing
emptiness inside, but instead, this solution is only a distraction from the real

Betrayal In The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe
In the novel, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, betrayal takes place in many situations and it is
almost always followed by forgiveness. Some of the motives behind the betrayal in the novel include
fear, spite, temptation, pride, selfishness, and doing what is right. In C.S. Lewis s The Lion, The
Witch, and The Wardrobe, Lewis includes the recurring theme of betrayal and forgiveness. The first
examples of betrayal are by Mr.Tumnus. After he first plans to betray Lucy, he then changes his mind
and betrays the White Witch instead. When Lucy first enters Narnia through the wardrobe, she runs
into a Faun who introduces himself as Mr.Tumnus. Upon finding out Lucy is a human, he befriends
her and invites her to his home where he secretly plans to betray her and take her to the White Witch,
who ordered all creatures of Narnia to report any sightings of humans. He later confesses to Lucy his
intentions when first meeting her, but says that he changed his mind because he has taken a liking to
her. He says to Lucy: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Ethical Treatment Of Circus Animals
The circus can be dated back to as far as 1782 in Paris, France where people came to enjoy family
friendly entertainment. The circus has always included tricks and stunts by not only people but also
highly trained animals. For decades now, people have considered the treatment of animal
performances in the circus cruel and unjust. Protesters argue that animals are stripped from their native
lands and forced to preform shows, meanwhile being treated harshly and abused by the human circus
performers. Tigers, elephants, and other animals are trained and forced to entertain audiences by
standing on their heads, jumping through hoops, and doing balance tricks. Spectators have considered
this a spiteful treatment of animals, for it is often physically challenging and frightening to the animal
performers. There have been reports of circus trainers abusing animal performers with whips, muzzles,
and other painful tools. Today, protestors are fighting for animal s rights and against the use of animals
in circuses . Protesters are objecting to animal circus performers, purely because of the belief that
these animals are being forced to do impossible stunts, are in confined areas, and are abused with
painful tools. One of the biggest frustrations of protesters is the fact that circus animals are held in
constant confinement. Protest organization The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)
explains how circus animals in confinement during travel, are forced to inside inhumane

Hierarchy Of Effect Of Amazon
Introduction
Nowadays it is crucial for companies to understand and have a clear vision about trends and levels on
customer knowledge, preferences and behaviors, in order to develop with success their brand and
product strategy.
In effect, studies of awareness, attitudes and usage are made in way to measure these trends and they
are based on the theory of Hierarchy of Effects, assumption that explains the process with which the
consumer, primarily, starts to be aware about the product, with initial trial of it, and then, after
adoption of the product, he becomes loyal to it.
In this way companies can see how their reputation and competition increase, starting a growth
process that, if is well supported and controlled, can result in achieving ... Show more content on

To do this, after its foundation, Amazon came up with the idea of customer reviews, which it means
that if people see other people s review about products and services acquired online they feel more
confident to proceed with the purchase. Doing constantly that operation, company s reputation and
safeness can increase as well as the number of people who start buy on the internet.
They developed a recommendation module, insight integrated after seeing that, between the last
purchase and the following one, exists a connection. It means that after the purchase several
suggestions about a set of customized products are given to the customer, in way to give more
visibility to similar products and to ease their discovery.
To make easy and simplify online shopping they created a process called one click ordering with

Masculinity And Women
What does it mean to be male or female? To you, masculinity is probably playing sports, drinking beer
while watching football games, and wearing a suit and tie. Masculinity is probably short hair and
bulging muscles. To you, femininity is probably dressing up in fancy dresses and jewelry, putting on a
face of makeup, and going to the nail salon. Femininity is probably long, flowing hair and a slender
body. This is not the truth, however. These images have been fed to us by society since the day we
were born. Society has created these idealistic men and women. A world in which the men go to work
at the factory and the women stay home with the children. Gender roles have been forced on almost
everything in life by society. From clothes to jobs, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whis is it considered humorous when men dress up as women or women dress up as men? Why is it
considered wrong for a person of a certain gender to wear the clothing of another? Why is it that these
people these other human beings are taunted for being themselves? The answer to that is simple.
These innocent actions are perceived as disgusting and wrong in the eyes of society. The arrogance of
society has prevented us from pursuing something that would guarantee happiness. They would rather
ridicule us than allow us to disturb their perfect little world. Thousands of us hide away in the
shadows of anxiety instead of revealing our true self because we know how society would react. They
would reject us and isolate us until we revert back to a state of reservation. There is still have hope,
however. In the past few years, many male celebrity role models have revealed to dress up in women s
clothes or take on a role in which they act more feminine. Jaden Smith, the son of Will and Jada
Pinkett Smith, is one of these role models. Despite mockery from the media and supposed fans , Jaden
has broken past the boundaries of stereotypical fashion by becoming the new face of Louis Vuitton.
He was photographed for the spring/summer 2016 women s collection wearing a skirt. He represents
our generation; a generation in which people are free of gender questioning and promulgations. Jaden
has even overcome the disapproval of his father, who originally told him you cannot wear a skirt
because he believed that no one would let their children dress like him and feared that his son would

Persuasive Essay On Cyberbullying
The twenty first century has held endless opportunities for people to explore and grow. It has brought
a developed internet, various forms of social media, and easier ways to communicate. People can now
search the web for things to buy, places to go, or sights to see. There are posts to comment on, places
to swipe right, and kitten videos to watch. There are also algorithms to record someone s key strokes,
programs to steal credit card information, and websites for sexual predators to attract their prey.
Although the internet has many great or positive uses, it also brings many awful, twisted people to the
table. No matter the form of these negative attacks, they can all be categorized as one thing:
cyberbullying.
Cyberbullying has become a very real and serious issue in the twenty first century. Many people want
to sugar coat these issues for what they truly are, but in reality, the internet is a never ending hole of
scams and hurtful posts. Cyberbullying can lead to the victim suffering with depression, anxiety, or
suicidal thoughts and actions. With consequences like these, steps need to be taken to reduce and
completely stop cyberbullying.
The importance of ending cyberbullying does not stop at the consequences it holds for the victims, but
because it does not occur to one specific group. Cyberbullying can happen to young children trying to
play their favorite computer game. A side pop up could appear from a stranger who wants to give the
child free ice cream or take

The Importance Of Culture On The Culture Of Nepal
Pre interation
Nepal is known to be a multi religious country with religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Muslim,
Christianity and other religions found there. However, 80 percent of the population of Nepal practices
Hinduism. Which leads me to believe that the Hinduism has to have a great impact on the culture of
Nepal. Hinduism is a male dominated religion and women often play a secondary role. There are
many restrictive conditions that a Nepali Hindu woman has to live by. However, there is
overwhelming respect for women because they considered gifts from the gods and aspects of pure
energy. Hindus believe in the idea of karma and rebirth, the idea that each is reincarnated so that the
soul can be purified.
Orientation
Upon getting this assignment I immediately thought of doing it on Nepal s culture. I had been
intrigued each time my co worker, Aastha, would share her stories about her home. I presumed this
would be the perfect opportunity to learn more their practices. I believe they are some similarities
between Nepali and Haitian culture in the sense that both could be viewed as having stricter values
than the western culture that most of us is familiar with. But more importantly the way that religion is
embedded within the culture is the most comparable. I believe that s where the similarities ended and
the differences began. Upon asking Aastha if she would be interested in being interviewed she
immediately began to plan what we could discussed. She almost took over

Persuading their Mistresses in The Flea and To His Coy Mistress
Examine the ways in which the poets in The Flea and To His Coy
Mistress try to persuade their mistresses.
Both The Flea by John Donne and To His Coy Mistress by Andrew
Marvell are seduction poems, written by the poets to seduce their mistresses. Both have three stanzas
and a basic couplet rhyming structure. Donne and Marvell are metaphysical poets from the 17th
century. They have taken simple ideas and stretched them far for example, using a flea as a symbol of
union. They have made philosophical poems about simple facts of life for example, the fear of death
seen in To His Coy Mistress . The similarity seen between these poems is quite surprising the ... Show

The flea is the subject of much of what the poet talks about, and the imagery used is interesting. He
uses the flea to convince his mistress of his love for her, and to persuade her to have sex with him. In
To His Coy
Mistress there is no one object used to symbolise the love, but interesting and significant imagery is
used often, and to great effect. Different images are used to persuade the poet s mistress that to sleep
with him would be a good thing.
In stanza 1 of The Flea we see as the poet begins by trying to convince his mistress with the idea that
sex is not an important thing. He claims that the flea has already mixed their blood, after he bit them,
so they re already together in that way, And in this flea our two bloods mingled be. In this stanza, the
poet has taken a firm, instructive manner the first line reads Mark but this flea and mark in this . This
is an instruction, which tells us how the poet is feeling: confidant, sure and certain. He describes what
she is denying him as little , which follows with his persuasive argument to her that sex is a small
unimportant thing. There is an image of pregnancy as Donne describes the flea as pamper d swells
with one blood made of two . Here is talking about what could happen if they did have sex; but
reading it from the angle of a biting flea, giving it a seedy almost repulsive edge. This stanza is

An Explanation Of Why Sociologists Are Interested On Class
Class is important as it can determine various aspects that will have a significant impact and influence
on how people s lives are shaped. Feminists have argued for other things to be included such as social
divisions to show how they intersect with class. Economic inequalities can have an impact on class as
they can determine a person s status, wealth, income and lifestyle. Class is important as social
inequalities exists amongst the rich and poor. Important social factors include poverty, health and
education. A person s identity is just as important as their class. People may face discrimination due to
their identity, whether that may be due to their gender, age, ethnicity or disability. Social mobility is
where people are in a different social class now from which they were brought up in. However
sociologists argue that class is less important in contemporary society today than it once used to be.
The purpose of this essay is to provide an explanation on why sociologists are interested in class. This
assignment will define what class is and to what extent class matters. Other social divisions will be
explored in this assignment to show how they intersect with class. The social divisions which intersect
with class which will be discussed include economic and social inequalities, social mobility and
identity. The beliefs from well known theorists, Karl Marx and Max Weber who disagreed on the

The Theory Used By Epicurus
All over the world, throughout all time eras, it seems as though humans have always been asking the
fundamental question, what is goodness? Perspectives vary by culture, religion and from person to
person depending on countless variables. This question particularly interested the philosophers Plato
and Epicurus. Although both men had fully rational, valid, and interesting takes on the idea of
goodness, my argument is that Epicurus ideology in my opinion is the most reasonable answer. In this
essay, I will begin by explaining Epicurus hedonistic view, I will then explain why Plato dissents, and
then I will finish off by explaining why I believe Epicurus idea is more reasonable.
Hedonism the idea that pleasure is the greatest good, was the ethical theory used by Epicurus to show
us how to live a happy life. A prominent belief of his was that we needed to master our desires. To do
this, we must first understand our desires and where they come from. This means being able to look at
your desires, and understand those that are necessary for survival, for your happiness, and those which
are not necessary at all. By doing this, Epicurus would say that you will be able to make wise
decisions which will ultimately lead to a happy life.
Epicurus makes the point saying that when we judge something, let s say a car for instance, we judge
it based on how it makes us feel. Does this car give you pleasure? Does it irritate you or cause you
pain? If it does cause you pain,

A1. Reconnaissance
The Initial phase in cyberattack is reconnaissance. In reconnaissance phase, attackers gather
information about target s vulnerabilities which can be exploited further.
Reconnaissance are of two types:
1. Active Reconnaissance
Active reconnaissance is the information collection process in which attacker gains access to the target
system and performs port scans or check ways to go around the firewalls and routers. Since in an
active reconnaissance attacker must enter or probe the target s network, there is a possibility that target
might get information about attacker like attacker s IP address. (Mike Chapple, 2014)
2. Passive Reconnaissance
Passive reconnaissance is the process of information collection in which attacker is in passive mode
and target will not know about attacker. It generally involves research about target by using open
source information gathering tools like Google. (Czumak,2014)
In Western power grid attack, APT was well organized. They used both active and passive
reconnaissance methods to gather information. We have found the traces of attackers IP in the network
logs provided by Intelligence services. This tells us that attackers had used Active Reconnaissance to
get network

How Coffee Affects The Environmental Ethics Of The Bean
Every day, around 205 million American s start their day off with a cup of coffee. Weather this coffee
is brewed at home, picked up on the way to work or slowly enjoyed at a café, coffee is a common
ground between millions of people.
Coffee is estimated to be a $20 billion industry, its impacts reaching almost every corner of the earth.
As coffee spread around the world and demand for the bean grew, an industry popped up that led to
current day unethical and unsustainable practices surrounding the production and marketing of the
bean. Vast consumption of coffee is what continues the drive to cultivate and produce the drink. The
production of coffee affects the environmental ethics of many communities, but through changing the
markets and commodities surrounding coffee, negative impacts of its production have turned around
drastically.
From first being discovered by humans in ancient Ethiopia, coffee has gone from being seen
skeptically as a magical plant to a staple drink in most societies. A myth puts a goat herder in the fields
of Ethiopia, and one day he noticed his goats were acting more chipper than usual. They had eaten an
unusual berry that gave them these tendencies. The goat herder brought the beans to his monastery,
where the religious leaders mushed the berries up and ate them. They then stood alert through late
hours of prayer, uncovering their effect on humans. (Starbird, 1981) From the beans discovery in
Ethiopia it has had many forms of consumption. Our

When people who suffer from omniomania begin to feel anxious, nervous or depressed the go
shopping to make themselves feel better, they get a high from shopping, a high similar to that of drug
addicts. It is believed that shopping provides a stimulant of beta endorphines in the brain, which give
the person the high feeling. People continue to shop to gain the euphoric feeling and then can become
addicted to shopping. (Intili, 2004)
It is believed that about 6% of Americans have a shopping addiction; of the 6% 90% are women. To a
shopping addict trips to the mall become the main way to cope with stress, even when it is having a
negative impact on the rest of their life. The addiction will affect their relationships and finances.
(Omniomania: Shopping Addiction, 2010) It is a never ending merry go round; the stress from
relationships and finances just reinforces the urge to shop more in order to feel better.
Treatment for this addiction usually starts with financial counseling. The shopper is usually in denial
as to the amount of debt and or effect they shopping has had on their life and they need see it in paper
and admit to having a problem before any kind of counseling or therapy will work.
Gambling addiction also know as compulsive gambling is a type of impulse control disorder.

George Pullman s Influence On Social Darwinism
Social Darwinism is a term to describe the idea that humans compete for existence just like the rest of
the animal kingdom. Darwin used this term to attempt to rationalize racism, capitalism, and
imperialism. It simplifies the human s desire for power. Now it is widely discredited and scrutinized
because its a rejection of compassion and social responsibility. (1)
These tycoons of business figured out how to use social darwinism to their benefit. They were ruthless
in the business world but were credited for creating big business and a booming economy in the US.
The so called robber barons were nothing but businessmen who knew what they were doing and used
it to their advantage.
George Pullman was an American industrialist and inventor. His father moved buildings out of the
way of the Erie Canal. George took over the business in 1853. Later he won a contract with the state
of New York to move 20 buildings out of the way. After this he came up with the idea to manufacture
and lease railroad cars on the growing railroad industry. After being unsatisfied with sleepers and
passenger cars, he created the Pullman Sleeper. These cars were immediately successful ... Show more

Essay on Compare and Contrast Chinese and Japanese Mythology
Chinese and Japanese Mythology in Life Classic Chinese and classic Japanese mythology are quite
similar, in fact, they have more commonalities than differences. As examples, one can compare and
contrast the two mythologies in terms of characters, form and structure, creation myths, and
mythology s relevance to life. Animals and dragons also appear repeatedly in Chinese and Japanese
mythology. In this paper it will be shown that Chinese and Japanese mythologies are more similar than
different. The characters in both Chinese and Japanese myths have similar personalities and reactions.
For example, heroes in both mythologies use tricks, cunning schemes, and intelligence in general
achieve their goals, instead of just force and wit. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And although Chinese dragons are powerful fighters, they choose not to fight. Chinese mythology has
several distinctive qualities, one of the most individual is the fact that Chinese myths are very concise:
a single myth might only be one page long, but tells a story that could take up two or more pages. For
example, the sentence, The Wise Old Man at the River Bend stopped the foolish old man shows an
entire short scene. Japanese myths, on the other hand, are more story like in their structure, and they
are told simply. In fact, the Japanese myths are told so simply and this author believes that they can be
understood by children. Also Japanese myths have more of a definite beginning, middle, and end.

Earth. Pangu stood in the middle, and he and the egg s two parts grew and grew until he was nine

When Pangu died, his breath became the wind and clouds, his voice the rolling thunder, and his eyes

The History of Disneyland Paris
The History of DisneyLand Paris
In the beginning...
Following on from the success of the DisneyLand theme park in Anaheim, plans to build a European
version first started around 1975, nine years after Walt Disney died. Initially Britain, Italy, Spain and
France were all considered as possible locations, though Britain and Italy were quickly dropped from
the list of potential sites because they both lacked a suitably large expanse of flat land.
The most likely site was thought to be in the Alicante area of Spain, which had a similar climate to
that in Florida for a large part of the year, however the area was also beset by the notorious Mistral
winds.
Eventually the French location won, and a site was duly investigated at ... Show more content on

In summer 1993 the new Indiana Jones roller coaster ride opened, but disaster struck just a few weeks
after opening when the emergency brakes locked on during a ride, causing some guest injuries. As a

By the start of 1994, with the company in serious financial difficulties, and rumours circulating the the
park was on the verge of bankrupcy a series of emergency crisis talks were held between the banks
and backers.

Everything came to a head during March 1994 when Team Disney offered the banks an ultimatum,
that Disney would provide sufficient capital investment for the park to continue to operate until the
end of the month, but unless the banks agreed to restructure the $1bn debt that the park s construction
and operation had run up, the Walt Disney company would close the park, and walk away from the
whole European venture, leaving the banks with a bankrupt theme park and a massive expanse of
virtually worthless real estate.
EuroDisney then forced the bank s hand by calling the annual stock holder meeting for March 15th.
Faced with no alternative other than to announce to the stock holders that the park was about to close
the banks started looking for ways to refinance and restructure the massive debts. Then to further

of the company and why they recapitalized. Also, we will touch on some of the risks of going to trial
to have the courts set a price. We have also broken down the numbers and found many different prices
found by using the dividend growth model and the multiples approach. We will also show how
different outcomes will affect Kohler s retained earnings and cash standing. In the end, we believe we

After the successful reverse stock split only a small percentage of stock still remained with outsiders,
but was closely monitored for the next 20years to maintain the private state of firm control. It is hard
to find negatives for being so private because Kohler has been so successful at it. A few possible
reasons for big companies such as Kohler to have public shares is because they offer a new source of
capital, a cash flow for acquisitions, liquidity for estate planning and a means to reward employees
with options. Kohler could make the counter to these public offers by saying we may not have these
public options, but who is going to take us over anyway... we re Kohler. Why recapitalize: In 1998,
Herbert Kohler proposed to buy back all the shares from outsiders and further restrict the selling of
shares to outsiders. There were many reasons for this recapitalization plan: Herbert Kohler did not like
the high speculative prices that the shares were selling for. People started to think that Kohler would
go public and it would increase the share prices. Therefore, they paid higher prices for the Kohler
stock with the expectations that the stock price would go higher. He thought that it might entice the
family members to sell their shares to outsiders.
5 Kohler preferred the company s private status. It was a family owned business and Kohler wanted
to keep it within the family. Kohler could not control

Marriage Proposals In Pride And Prejudice
Pride and Prejudice is a novel written by Jane Austen in the Regency Period of England. The book
represents to the reader how females, marriage and social class were viewed at the time, as well as
demonstrates Austen s opinion on these matters in a somewhat satirical sense. The two marriage
proposals in the book towards the lead female character, Elizabeth Bennet, are put forth by Mr Collins
and Mr Darcy, both of whom exaggerate the social norms of the time; as women were not expected to
marry for love, but for financial gain, the terms for both proposals are focused more on the gains of
both the man and the woman rather than true feelings towards the affair. The ridiculed etiquette shows
how Austen held the rules of the time in low regard.
Both proposals comprise of snide comments on Elizabeth s social class and financial situation; Collins
remarks that Elizabeth will inherit only one thousand pounds in the four per cents, which will not be

This, as well as the fact that he inquired after her health is a contrast to the cold, manipulative
character of Mr Collins, who attempts to threaten Elizabeth into marrying him. Likewise, Darcy does
not react well to the rejection to his proposal, as his complexion became pale with anger , and
continues to insult Elizabeth, saying that she is not civil . Therefore, even though the beginning of the
two proposals differed dramatically, the denial of the proposal causes each male to react as if it was
Elizabeth s fault that they were rejected. This ties in to Austen s views of how men at the time were
taught that they could marry any girl if their offer was good enough; this, obviously, is not the case, as
Elizabeth cares more about her feelings than the technicalities of the marriage, and ridicules the
attitudes of men towards

Socrates Morality
This chapter focuses on what morality is. Socrates defines it as how we out to live and why. However,
there are many rival theories against the Socrates idea. In fact, it is hard to define morality. So in this
chapter, the authors utilize three real examples which are about handicapped children: baby Theresa,
conjoined twin Jodie and Many, and Tracy Latimer. For the case of Theresa, Theresa had anencephaly
when she was born, thus Theresa did not have the ability to breathe and beat her heart, and was going
to die within days. Additionally, she is not conscious. So, her parents wanted to donate her organ to
other children because they thought that it benefits someone without harming Theresa. However, it did
not happen due to the law. For ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since it would cause Mary s death, their parents reject the surgery, otherwise, the surgery was
performed by the court s permission. As the doctor expected, Jodie lived and Mary died. In the other
example, Tracy (whose mental level was like a three months baby) was killed by her father because he
thought that planed surgery is really hard for Tracy, and she was suffering without hope of relief. In
fact, her mother, who did not want the father to kill Tracy, was relieved to find Tracy dead when she
came back home. Even though he received a lenient sentence from the trial court, he was sentenced
from the Canadian Supreme Court to 10 years in prison. The main point of the first two examples is
whether people can kill someone for someone s benefit or not. Furthermore, the last example gives us
the idea of impartiality. These examples are contested and controversial issues. Thus, we need better
moral reasoning in order to conclude ethical issues, and there are two things to build exceptional
moral reasoning. The first thing is to get one s fact straight because moral judgments are different

Alfred Hitchcock Use Of Suspense Essay
Alfred Hitchcock uses omission to set up suspense and a feeling of skepticism for the viewer.
Lighting, dialogue, and distance all are tools Hitchcock employs to aid in his omission of certain
details. The main asset Hitchcock exploits is the distance L.B. Jeffries is trapped at in comparison to
where the real drama takes place for much of the film. This distance leaves the viewer feeling
perturbed.
Hitchcock utilizes the distance between Jeffries s window, through which most of the film is shot, and
the actions taking place in the apartments all the way across the courtyard to hide the dialogue
between the characters. Jeffries is unable to leave his apartment and since the camera does not either,
the viewer is rendered just as impotent as him. Hitchcock makes it clear that Mr. Thorwald is on the
phone and from the attention drawn to him the viewer is led to believe that what he is saying could
lead to the discovery of what happened to his wife. The aspect of this scene that adds suspense is the
dark lighting making it impossible to see what he is saying. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Another consequence of Jeffries limited mobility is the paucity of sight. Hitchcock focuses in on
specific objects or moments implying their importance, but then gives no further information to the
viewer. When the men come to move the trunk the only information given is its relative size, the
caution with which it was packed, and Mr. Thorwald s desire to have it taken from his home.
Hitchcock omits what is in the trunk or where it is going. The viewer is then left to their imagination
to decide what it could possibly contain. Another aspect of the film omitted by limited sight is what is
happening with Mrs. Thorwald s jewelry. The viewer is able to see that the jewelry was left behind,
but any indication of what this actually means is left up in the

Demand Of Demand And Demand Essay
Demand Determinants The concept of demand is derived from the willingness and ability of
consumers to buy goods or services at a particular time depending on prices and preferences. In most
cases, the demand for goods and services depends on the affordability and comfort of consumers to
purchase them, while holding other factors as constant (Hubbard O Brien, p. 70 2013). Basic
economic concepts of demand state that an increase in price affects the demand in a negative way; as
prices of gasoline increase, the demand should go down. The concept or law of demand is focused on
the correlation between the price of gasoline and the quantity of demand for the product. From my
observation, consumers are constantly looking for ways to minimize their consumption of gasoline.
This century, motorists are opting for fuel efficient automobiles with the aim of reducing their overall
fuel consumption. The theoretical concept of price adjustment by gasoline consumers can affect Edgar
s idea to open a retail gas station. Whenever retail fuel prices increase, in the long run, consumers may
retaliate by cutting off the frequency of gas consumption by reducing time spent driving, reduce the
number of times they use their car and other methods that will save them from using more money in
gas stations. In the short run, the change in price of gasoline per gallon is not sufficiently volatile to
affect consumption significantly. The graph below shows U.S. National Average in gasoline prices

  • 5. Reasons Behind Head Shaving In The United States The act of head shaving ranges from pure laziness to punishment, to identifying oneself. Here in America it is common to see people with shaved heads but there are some cultures or tribes that don t allow their members to shave their head let alone any part of their body. But in cultures that do the reasons behind head shaving are plenty. There are quite a few reasons the military in countries such as the United States, Russia and several other countries have their soldiers shave their heads, not completely, but short. For example, on D Day many allied soldiers shaved their heads so that Germans wouldn t have anything to grab onto during close encounters. Often, when people see military men on the streets with little to no hair they automatically ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Siddhartha by Herman Hesse Herman Hesse s novel Siddhartha is a spiritual book about a man who finds himself , during the time when the teachings of Buddha started to evolve. Throughout this spiritual novel, there are many recurring symbols, themes, and strong bonds between the characters. 2. Other than the ferryman Vasudeva helping Siddhartha, the river helps Siddhartha with his path toward enlightenment. The river serves as the instructor in Siddhartha s journey when he abandons his wealth and leaves the Samanas. The river is like life, it flows in a certain direction, depending on the journey you want to take. The function of the river is that it will give one answers depending on the direction it takes. Because of the philosophical meaning of the river, if one understands it, they will achieve enlightenment. Vasudeva s philosophical belief is that one must listen to the river for answers. The river provides one with knowledge without words. Siddhartha s reward for listening to the river is that he will have a true understanding of reality. Event though Vasudeva told Siddhartha to listen to the river by his philosophical belief, Siddhartha achieved the meaning of reality of on his own. In reality , the river was the instruction because it shared it s knowledge with Siddhartha how to achieve enlightenment, while the ferryman just pointed him in the right direction. In the end Siddhartha becomes the ferryman, and Vasudeva retires. Hence now that Siddhartha has true knowledge, he shares ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. British Airlines and Air India India and the UK have a great deal in common. Right from our Parliamentary system of democracy to our judicial system, our bureaucracy to now, the common travails of our flag carriers, British Airways (BA) and Air India (AI). BA, according to its chief executive, Willie Walsh, is in a fight for survival much like our own AI. As with the latter, BA has a bloated workforce, awful finances, a huge debt, all problems that characterize AI as well. And, in an uncanny parallel, AI s latest offer of unpaid leave to its staff mirrors a similar offer made earlier by BA. But there the comparison ends. BA is no longer state owned, having been privatised back in 1987. AI, in contrast, is 100% state owned. And that says it all British Airways (BA) is the flag carrier airline of the United Kingdom and its biggest airline based on fleet size, international flights and international destinations. When measured by passengers carried it is second largest, behind easy Jet. The airline is based in Waterside near its main hub at London Heathrow Airport. A British Airways Board was established by the United Kingdom government in 1972 to manage the two nationalized airline corporations, British Overseas Airways Corporation and British European Airways, and two smaller, regional airlines, Cambrian Airways, from Cardiff, and Northeast Airlines, from Newcastle upon Tyne. On 31 March 1974, all four companies were combined to form British Airways. After almost 13 years as a state company, British ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Puerto Rico and Its Political History and Integration to... Judicial Overhaul If the opportunity to implement a new judicial body were to arise, there would be a great deal of components required to formulate a new judicial body. Drawing from different states in America, a conglomerate of components would be called into service to draft this new body. The states in question that will be used in this reformat will be the states of, Florida, Texas, and Illinois. These states contain a simplified and durable judicial hierarchy. Successful implementation of these ideals are very likely if they were to occur. The Commonwealth Sale west of the Indies, between the Caribbean Sea and North Atlantic Ocean and hold, for this is where the Isle del Encanto lies. Otherwise known as the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, this island is rich with an abundance of flora and fauna. Life truly feeds on life in this exotic isle. The commonwealth has beard homage to some of the world s greatest composers, novelists, poets and artists. Inspired by the aesthetic wealth of this land, it comes to no surprise that these philanthropists were so successful in enriching the now blossoming culture that is now Puerto Rico. The islands custodians are the Puerto Rican natives, a vibrant and robust people, full of tenacity and strong will. This island has gone through a great deal of conflict over time. While the land inspires a serine bliss, there is a great deal of political history that has reconstituted Puerto Ricos destiny as an isle, and as Commonwealth. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Napoleon Bonaparte Moral Responsibility Moral responsibility is the status of morally deserving praise, blame, reward, or punishment for an act or omission, in accordance with one s moral obligations. Since the foretelling of history began, many historians have placed their biased opinion on important events that took place in the past. This can mean leaving out relevant information about an important event or person which causes an altered understanding on the subject. Historians are faced with many different types of evidence regarding an event that took place in the past. As a result they can choose what they want to ignore or accept based off of their personal morals. It is not appropriate for historians to distribute moral responsibility on events that took place in the past ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, the events that took place while Napoleon Bonaparte was the emperor of France, may have caused historians to have different points of views about his role as a leader. Historians that live in France today may characterize Napoleon in different ways that historians in other parts of the world would not. The historians that support Napoleon would tend to over emphasize his skill and talent as a military leader and highlight all that he did to benefit France. The French considered Napoleon to be their savior for resolving the French Revolution and implementing a more stable government. Napoleon said that a leader is a dealer of hope. Napoleon said this to let his citizens know that he would give them optimism and not let them down. They also admire him because of The Napoleonic Code. Since feudalism was removed from France, they had been without laws since the end of the revolution. The code was based off of the Justinian s Code which was apart of Roman Law. The Napoleonic Code was divided into three categories; one s personal status, property, and the acquisition of property. However, Napoleon s achievements may be ignored by a historian that is from a different part of the world. That historian could entice people to dislike Napoleon by focusing on the negative aspects of his reign. They would most likely emphasize the Napoleonic Wars, which lasted for 12 years. Also they may bring up the fact that five 500,000 out of 600,000 troops that he sent into Russia were slaughtered because he failed to notice that the Russians had been tricking him into coming further and further into Russia. In doing so, the Russians slowly picked off his troops one by one. By letting their moral beliefs influence what facts they include in their accounts of Napoleon, historians fail to report an accurate record of his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. The Enticing Paradox In Paul Simon s The Sound Of Silence Exploring the inner turmoil of the human soul is a fascinating subject that has captivated members of academia since the dawn of metacognition. Paul Simon writes a beautiful, harmonious piece of timeless art known as The Sound of Silence, which is almost whispered, in song, by Art Garfunkel. Paul Simon, by using the enticing paradox: the sound of silence , the clever use of light to describe the false hope society places on external forces, as well as a plethora of other paradoxes and metaphors, such as a growing seed, urges people to cease looking to extraneous solutions to answer their internal quarrels, and begin instead, looking within themselves for the answers they seek. Simon kicks off this incredible introspection by depicting his inner quarrels as a vision that started as a seed that is planted in his brain . This metaphor is especially enticing because it expresses that which all people are aware: leaving a thought unanswered will cause the individual to be consumed with curiosity, until they decide to seek the answer, no matter through what means that may ... Starting to observe the people worshipping this neon god , Paul Simon depicts the actions of the misguided crowd with powerful paradoxes: describing that they talk without speaking , hear without listening , and write songs that voices never share . This depiction of society explores the meaninglessness of solving intimate problems with general answers: these ten thousand people are all paying homage to their neon god , hoping that this will solve their growing emptiness inside, but instead, this solution is only a distraction from the real ... • 11. Betrayal In The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe In the novel, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, betrayal takes place in many situations and it is almost always followed by forgiveness. Some of the motives behind the betrayal in the novel include fear, spite, temptation, pride, selfishness, and doing what is right. In C.S. Lewis s The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, Lewis includes the recurring theme of betrayal and forgiveness. The first examples of betrayal are by Mr.Tumnus. After he first plans to betray Lucy, he then changes his mind and betrays the White Witch instead. When Lucy first enters Narnia through the wardrobe, she runs into a Faun who introduces himself as Mr.Tumnus. Upon finding out Lucy is a human, he befriends her and invites her to his home where he secretly plans to betray her and take her to the White Witch, who ordered all creatures of Narnia to report any sightings of humans. He later confesses to Lucy his intentions when first meeting her, but says that he changed his mind because he has taken a liking to her. He says to Lucy: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Look at me, Daughter of Eve. (Lewis 20) Lucy forgives Mr.Tumnus for his betrayal because he was honest and sincere. He then helps Lucy escape Narnia, betraying the White Witch s orders, which leads to his capture and imprisonment later. Lucy s forgiveness of Mr.Tumnus leads to his own freedom and the four siblings discovering the Beavers, who are the main help in finding Aslan and saving Narnia. • 12. The Ethical Treatment Of Circus Animals The circus can be dated back to as far as 1782 in Paris, France where people came to enjoy family friendly entertainment. The circus has always included tricks and stunts by not only people but also highly trained animals. For decades now, people have considered the treatment of animal performances in the circus cruel and unjust. Protesters argue that animals are stripped from their native lands and forced to preform shows, meanwhile being treated harshly and abused by the human circus performers. Tigers, elephants, and other animals are trained and forced to entertain audiences by standing on their heads, jumping through hoops, and doing balance tricks. However, 80 percent of the population of Nepal practices Hinduism. Which leads me to believe that the Hinduism has to have a great impact on the culture of Nepal. Hinduism is a male dominated religion and women often play a secondary role. There are many restrictive conditions that a Nepali Hindu woman has to live by. Both have three stanzas and a basic couplet rhyming structure. Donne and Marvell are metaphysical poets from the 17th century. Different images are used to persuade the poet s mistress that to sleep with him would be a good thing. In stanza 1 of The Flea we see as the poet begins by trying to convince his mistress with the idea that sex is not an important thing. An Explanation Of Why Sociologists Are Interested On Class Class is important as it can determine various aspects that will have a significant impact and influence on how people s lives are shaped. Feminists have argued for other things to be included such as social divisions to show how they intersect with class. Economic inequalities can have an impact on class as they can determine a person s status, wealth, income and lifestyle. Class is important as social inequalities exists amongst the rich and poor. Important social factors include poverty, health and education. A person s identity is just as important as their class. People may face discrimination due to their identity, whether that may be due to their gender, age, ethnicity or disability. Social mobility is where people are in a different social class now from which they were brought up in. However sociologists argue that class is less important in contemporary society today than it once used to be. Perspectives vary by culture, religion and from person to person depending on countless variables. This question particularly interested the philosophers Plato and Epicurus. Although both men had fully rational, valid, and interesting takes on the idea of goodness, my argument is that Epicurus ideology in my opinion is the most reasonable answer. In this essay, I will begin by explaining Epicurus hedonistic view, I will then explain why Plato dissents, and then I will finish off by explaining why I believe Epicurus idea is more reasonable. Hedonism the idea that pleasure is the greatest good, was the ethical theory used by Epicurus to show us how to live a happy life. A prominent belief of his was that we needed to master our desires. To do this, we must first understand our desires and where they come from. This means being able to look at your desires, and understand those that are necessary for survival, for your happiness, and those which are not necessary at all. By doing this, Epicurus would say that you will be able to make wise decisions which will ultimately lead to a happy life. Epicurus makes the point saying that when we judge something, let s say a car for instance, we judge it based on how it makes us feel. Does this car give you pleasure? Kohler could make the counter to these public offers by saying we may not have these public options, but who is going to take us over anyway... we re Kohler. Why recapitalize: In 1998, Herbert Kohler proposed to buy back all the shares from outsiders and further restrict the selling of shares to outsiders. There were many reasons for this recapitalization plan: Herbert Kohler did not like the high speculative prices that the shares were selling for. • 32. Marriage Proposals In Pride And Prejudice Pride and Prejudice is a novel written by Jane Austen in the Regency Period of England. The book represents to the reader how females, marriage and social class were viewed at the time, as well as demonstrates Austen s opinion on these matters in a somewhat satirical sense. The two marriage proposals in the book towards the lead female character, Elizabeth Bennet, are put forth by Mr Collins and Mr Darcy, both of whom exaggerate the social norms of the time; as women were not expected to marry for love, but for financial gain, the terms for both proposals are focused more on the gains of both the man and the woman rather than true feelings towards the affair. The ridiculed etiquette shows how Austen held the rules of the time in low regard. Both proposals comprise of snide comments on Elizabeth s social class and financial situation; Collins remarks that Elizabeth will inherit only one thousand pounds in the four per cents, which will not be yours till after your ... This, as well as the fact that he inquired after her health is a contrast to the cold, manipulative character of Mr Collins, who attempts to threaten Elizabeth into marrying him. Likewise, Darcy does not react well to the rejection to his proposal, as his complexion became pale with anger , and continues to insult Elizabeth, saying that she is not civil . Therefore, even though the beginning of the two proposals differed dramatically, the denial of the proposal causes each male to react as if it was Elizabeth s fault that they were rejected. This ties in to Austen s views of how men at the time were taught that they could marry any girl if their offer was good enough; this, obviously, is not the case, as Elizabeth cares more about her feelings than the technicalities of the marriage, and ridicules the attitudes of men towards ... • 33. Socrates Morality This chapter focuses on what morality is. Socrates defines it as how we out to live and why. However, there are many rival theories against the Socrates idea. In fact, it is hard to define morality. So in this chapter, the authors utilize three real examples which are about handicapped children: baby Theresa, conjoined twin Jodie and Many, and Tracy Latimer. For the case of Theresa, Theresa had anencephaly when she was born, thus Theresa did not have the ability to breathe and beat her heart, and was going to die within days. Additionally, she is not conscious. So, her parents wanted to donate her organ to other children because they thought that it benefits someone without harming Theresa. However, it did not happen due to the law. For ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since it would cause Mary s death, their parents reject the surgery, otherwise, the surgery was performed by the court s permission. As the doctor expected, Jodie lived and Mary died. In the other example, Tracy (whose mental level was like a three months baby) was killed by her father because he thought that planed surgery is really hard for Tracy, and she was suffering without hope of relief. In fact, her mother, who did not want the father to kill Tracy, was relieved to find Tracy dead when she came back home. Even though he received a lenient sentence from the trial court, he was sentenced from the Canadian Supreme Court to 10 years in prison. The main point of the first two examples is whether people can kill someone for someone s benefit or not. Furthermore, the last example gives us the idea of impartiality. These examples are contested and controversial issues. Thus, we need better moral reasoning in order to conclude ethical issues, and there are two things to build exceptional moral reasoning. The first thing is to get one s fact straight because moral judgments are different from one s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Alfred Hitchcock Use Of Suspense Essay Alfred Hitchcock uses omission to set up suspense and a feeling of skepticism for the viewer. Lighting, dialogue, and distance all are tools Hitchcock employs to aid in his omission of certain details. The main asset Hitchcock exploits is the distance L.B. Jeffries is trapped at in comparison to where the real drama takes place for much of the film. This distance leaves the viewer feeling perturbed. Hitchcock utilizes the distance between Jeffries s window, through which most of the film is shot, and the actions taking place in the apartments all the way across the courtyard to hide the dialogue between the characters. Jeffries is unable to leave his apartment and since the camera does not either, the viewer is rendered just as impotent as him. Hitchcock makes it clear that Mr. Thorwald is on the phone and from the attention drawn to him the viewer is led to believe that what he is saying could lead to the discovery of what happened to his wife. The aspect of this scene that adds suspense is the dark lighting making it impossible to see what he is saying. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another consequence of Jeffries limited mobility is the paucity of sight. Hitchcock focuses in on specific objects or moments implying their importance, but then gives no further information to the viewer. When the men come to move the trunk the only information given is its relative size, the caution with which it was packed, and Mr. Thorwald s desire to have it taken from his home. Hitchcock omits what is in the trunk or where it is going. The viewer is then left to their imagination to decide what it could possibly contain. Another aspect of the film omitted by limited sight is what is happening with Mrs. Thorwald s jewelry. The viewer is able to see that the jewelry was left behind, but any indication of what this actually means is left up in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Demand Of Demand And Demand Essay Demand Determinants The concept of demand is derived from the willingness and ability of consumers to buy goods or services at a particular time depending on prices and preferences. In most cases, the demand for goods and services depends on the affordability and comfort of consumers to purchase them, while holding other factors as constant (Hubbard O Brien, p. 70 2013). Basic economic concepts of demand state that an increase in price affects the demand in a negative way; as prices of gasoline increase, the demand should go down. The concept or law of demand is focused on the correlation between the price of gasoline and the quantity of demand for the product. From my observation, consumers are constantly looking for ways to minimize their consumption of gasoline. This century, motorists are opting for fuel efficient automobiles with the aim of reducing their overall fuel consumption. The theoretical concept of price adjustment by gasoline consumers can affect Edgar s idea to open a retail gas station. Whenever retail fuel prices increase, in the long run, consumers may retaliate by cutting off the frequency of gas consumption by reducing time spent driving, reduce the number of times they use their car and other methods that will save them from using more money in gas stations. In the short run, the change in price of gasoline per gallon is not sufficiently volatile to affect consumption significantly. The graph below shows U.S. National Average in gasoline prices ...
