Apocalypsen Solo Effect
Rift Being born a person of fame has its positive and negative effects. It means a great responsibility
in life and expectations to live up to. Jacen Solo is the son of Han and Leia Solo. He has grown up
living a difficult life that has him question himself and affects the people around him. As the breaking
of ties with the Corellia system, a longtime ally of the Republic, he falls under the influence of the
dark side like his grandfather before him looking to unite the galaxy and using whatever means
necessary to do so. He drags others down this dark path with him creating rift between families,

Essay On My Grand Ole Opry
I have always been a lover of photography. Photos reveal a sense of emotion whether that is
happiness, sadness, or anger. It can capture such a powerful moment in time. It shows a person who
they are, their past, present, and most importantly how they have grown. With the technology that is
readily available, and as many pictures that are captured on a daily basis, a story can unfold.
My Grand Ole Opry photo shows a huge smile on my face. It reminds me of my love for music and
how just by attending that one show at the Opry, I knew that I wanted to be in the music business for
the rest of my life. Being with my mom and grandma, I go back to the daily car rides to preschool with
my karaoke machine in hand singing at the top of my lungs to the cassette tape in the radio. Grandma
and I sitting down to write the lyrics so maybe one day I could sing the correct words instead of some
made up ones. Now I look at myself and scoff, being too embarrassed to sing anything in front of
nearly everyone.

The Opry brings me back to my Nebraskan roots of listening to some 40 s and 50 s honky tonk and
country music. After moving to Oklahoma, I lost that good Bakersfield sound and began listening to
more Pop music, only because that was what my friends listened to. The good country music reminds
me of bopping around the house with my grandma, and also of bus rides to school in Nebraska. I
would always have my CD player in my hand showing off to my friends for the latest and greatest
tunes, I was basically the bus DJ. Eventually, that CD player would turn into a mp3 player and then
onto an iPod. Although it was before the Opry, I had always loved the thought of owning a record
player, but it wasn t until after the Opry show when I really pushed for getting one. For my 17th
birthday, this wish came true and I was finally able to go back to the olden times and 50 s ballads,
back to who I really

Marina Budhos Characters
When it comes to family you must never give up no matter no matter what the task or how long it
takes, and it is expected that you will go through some mood changes along the way. It is very
ubiquitous that in a novel authors use various characterization techniques to divulge an innovation in
their main character(s). Marina Budhos uses her novel Ask Me No Questions to set an example. In the
novel, it is clear that Nadira is the main character, and Nadira goes through a change of dynamism and
emotion due to Budhos methods. Budhos uses characterization methods to reveal a change in Nadra.
To start off, early in the novel Nadira has built up some envy because Aisha is better than her. The
author used the internal dialogue technique to show the change in Nadra when she says.... She s the
quick one...whom Abba treats like a firstborn son, while I m the slow wit second born who just
follows along . A little burn of envy sears through me right now . It is inferred that Nadira thinks of
Aisha as the favorite child , and she is the one that s just average . She always knows what to say and
when in order to cheer up Abba and Ma. Nadira feels as if she couldn t vie with Aisha when she wants
to be like her, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Budhos uses the relationship with other characters techniques to decloak the transition from envy to
resentment when writes... Aisha kicks me Shut up she hisses , What she really means is I m supposed
to do whatever she says, and then she gets all the credit . It is the cause of the envy at the beginning of
the story that starts the buildup of her resentment towards Aisha near the end of chapter 4. Nadira
resents Aisha because she is acting perfectly on purpose so Aisha can treat Nadira badly, and Abba and
Ma won t notice because of the way Aisha acts towards them. That is another way that Bush s uses
characterization techniques to reveal a change in

Human Population On Earth s Life
It is terrifying to realize that the human population on Earth has reached over 7.3 billion people. This
astonishing and constantly increasing amount of people threatens our planet s limited resources. It is
times like these that make me nostalgic for the feudal ages, where large populations of people were
decimated by illnesses such as the plague. The advances in modern medicine today, while extremely
impressive, are ultimately extremely detrimental to the human population as a whole because they
surprisingly help prevent people from dying. How dare they! Humans are starting to get a better
quality of life due to the many advances in medical technology and knowledge, but at what cost?
People won t die! The question is, why should we, as a society, try to prevent people from dying when
it s inevitable? In the animal kingdom, it s everyone for themselves, or survival of the fittest. If people
are too weak to fight off an illness, or too stupid to find a way to stay alive, then they should die.
There have been many other extremely knowledgeable humans who agree that eventually, the earth s
carrying capacity will no longer be able to keep up with population growth, and civilization will end
unless large swaths of human beings are killed, so the question is: How do we want to do this? In a
very credible and well esteemed publication, Dr. Edwin Peters, a Cambridge University ecologist
followed up this statement by asking a critical question: Do we want to give

Into The Wild Chris Mccandless Relationship Analysis
Relationships between people can change lives forever. For instance, a parent and child s relationship
are one of the most important ones because that is where our consciousness about love, trust and
assurance comes from. Depending on the relationship, it can either benefit or suffer a child. Since little
children always look up to their parents and learn from them. So the actions done by their parents can
affect the child s life later in the years. This scenario can be reflected in the book Into the Wild, the
character Chris McCandless. Chris McCandless parent s outside appearance was wanting Chris to go
to school and be successful. Meanwhile, in the inside appearance, especially the dad, was an abusive
father. This reflected a double life.

Eastlyn Koons Robots Are Better Than Humans
The increased development of artificial intelligence and the everyday use of technology can lead to a
future full of robots, claims Eastlyn Koons in Robots are Better than Humans. Koons lives in the
modern day where advancements are being made every day in the field of technology and artificial
intelligence machines have started to replace the jobs of some people. People fear the uprising of robot
rebellion and an inevitable Doomsday because of it. Through appeals to fear and pride, Koons asks the
world to consider the use of technology in their lives and the role it may play in the future. Koons
starts off the intro of her satirical essay by using sarcasm and rhetorical in order to show the audience
what is happening with the world at that time and establish the satire of her essay. In the first sentence,
Koons claims that robots are better than humans, as they are humans favorite things , suggesting that
the humans basically created their own better version. Koons utilizes a rhetorical question to ask why
humans are still there , showcasing the dispensability and non necessity of humans when robots are
present. By doing so, Koons demonstrates that humans have, in a way, become the cause of their own
downfall. After establishing the satirical nature of her essay, Koons sets the context to explain the
reasoning behind the essay. She talks about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

metal when referring to the AI machines to seem like she is feeling pity for them, slightly ironic
considering the amount of times she mentioned that they had no feelings. The use of these words add
to the sarcasm, as well as the exclamation mark at the end after she seems to almost insult the
intelligence and mindset of humans. By using these certain phrases, Koons adds to the satire and

The, Suspense, And The Unknown Essay
Detective novels of the mystery genre have always been fraught with terror, suspense, and the
unknown. Normally those such novels are subject to the public eye under the scrutiny of just how
much of it is real or simply superstition and science fiction just sensational writing. Sensational
writing in and of itself is not supposed to be thought provoking to the reader, but instead plays off the
reader s baser emotions that center around adrenaline like fear and excitement. While A Study in
Scarlet, by essence of being a detective novel, is still considered sensational writing, it brought a level
of subtleness to the sensationalism that evoked a deeper response in the readers. One particular event
where the sensationalism was extremely downplayed was the murder itself in the novel. For the police
detective Gregson and Lestrade, their biggest question at the scene of the crime was not really who
murdered but how he murdered as there was not any noticeable blood or wounds on the victim.
Lestrade even goes so far as to remark, This case will make a stir, sir...It beats anything I have seen,
and I am no chicken (Doyle 25). The unusual circumstances of the death cause the reader to think
deeper about how the victim could have possibly died, subtly ensnaring the reader to be even further
interested. Fear of the unknown is the greatest thing subtly sensationalism can do since it can evoke a
greater response in a few words than what pages of grotesque description can do. If Doyle

Essay About Making Mistakes
Making mistakes is a huge part in life. However, making those mistakes can lead to a successful life.
Learning those mistakes help me change to a different and a better person. I do believe this life lesson
has come across in everybody s life. I know that when you make the mistakes it causes to cry or be
angry; however, in the end of learning from that mistake will have you smiling in the end. In the start
of my life I have always been looked down on. I think it was always for my race. This brought me to a
dark side of myself and I started to do bad things in my life. When I started to understand and go
through racism in my life I began hating mostly all white citizens, treated everyone with no respect. It
did come to me from hate depression in my life and I believed life was only about hate and
depression. I know about the streets how it was, is and, will be. I looked at that path as a better way to
live and keep peace in my life. Once I started to see many things on the streets and became street
smart I began to forget everything I had in my life that was more wonderful than the streets. Once I hit
the streets I began to see things, hear things and, do things no one should ever do. Once I saw one of
my closest friends ending up in the hospital, I saw that I was never grateful for what I had in my life.

History And Advancement Of Anabolic Steroids
History of Steroids
So as to follow the history and advancement of anabolic steroids from their starting to their present
day structure, we initially need to think back towards old times, when it was realized that the testicles
were required for both the improvement and upkeep of male sexual qualities. In advancement, this
idea was further created, by a researcher named Berthold and his examinations on cockerels done in
1849. He expelled the testes from these winged creatures, and they lost a few of the attributes basic to
the male of their species, including sexual capacity. In this way, we knew as right on time as 1849 that
the testicles worked to elevate what we consider to be essential male sexual properties; at the end of
the day, they are what make men into men . Berthold additionally found that if the testicles were
uprooted and after that transplanted to the stomach area, the sexual capacity of the winged animals
was to a great extent unaffected. At the point when the fowls were analyzed, it was found that no
apprehensive associations were shaped, yet a limitlessly broad arrangement of capillarization
occurred. (1) This gave solid confirmation that the testes follow up on the blood (2) and he further
inferred this blood then systemically affected the whole living being. Anabolic Steroid history, along
these lines, can be really said to have made its initial step with this straightforward arrangement of
tests.
Later, in 1929 a method to deliver a concentrate

There were all sorts of camps spread out through Washington D.C, none of them in very good shape,
looking more like old shanty towns. The safest camps were located around Joint Base Myer
Henderson Hall, which was actually made up of three joined bases, Fort Myer and Fort McNair (both
US Army) and Henderson Hall USMC. There were four camps that surrounded the Joint Base that
went from bad to horrendous. They were camps Alpha through Delta, Camp Alpha being the closest to
Fort Myer s main gate and Delta being the closest to the primary gate to Henderson Hall. Each camp
held roughly fifteen hundred people. The camps were not secure and none had any form of
government. The military had kept a hands off approach believing it wasn t their responsibility but
that the civilians should police themselves. Joint Base Myer Henderson was home to the 3rd Infantry

their objective. These units started to be harassed by the civilians as they left post; some of the squads
were being attacked by large mobs of men and women. Although the soldiers were able to escape

Acute Renal Failure Essay
Acute renal failure is the sudden loss of the kidneys ability to function; affecting more than 100,000
people in the United States alone each year (NIDDK, 2008). This paper will discuss the basic
pathophysiology of acute renal failure, including its cause, disease mechanisms, symptoms, some of
the treatments and pharmacological therapies.
Pathophysiology
Acute renal failure (ARF) is the rapid loss of kidney function occurring when high levels of uremic
toxins accumulate in the blood. ARF occurs when the kidneys are unable to excrete the daily load of
toxins in the urine. The most common causes of ARF are dehydration, blood loss from major surgery
or injury, or medications such as NSAIDs, antibiotics, or the dyes used in ... Show more content on

However, the kidneys usually start working again within several weeks to months after the underlying
cause has been treated. Many people, however, die because of the primary disease that has caused the
kidney failure. Studies have estimated overall death rates for AKF at 42 88%, (Krapp, 2002). Up to
10% of patients who experience ARF will suffer irreversible kidney damage. They will eventually go
on to develop chronic kidney failure or end stage renal disease. These patients will require long term
dialysis or kidney transplantation to replace their lost renal functioning (Krapp, 2002).
Clinical manifestations
In the beginning stages of ARF, there may not be any symptoms; usually symptoms become noticeable
the longer ARF goes undetected or is left untreated. Fatigue is a common symptom due to anemia.
Healthy kidneys produce a hormone called erythropoietin that tells the body to make red blood cells.
As the kidneys fail, they make less erythropoietin (NIDDK, 2008). With fewer red blood cells to carry
oxygen, the body becomes tired very quickly. Some patients experience lower back pain resulting
from kidney stones or other obstructions. A big indicator of kidney problems is changes in the
urination, including decreased urine output. In addition, the urine might be foamy signifying buildup
of protein, or contain blood due to an obstruction. Edema could be present due to the build of fluids
within the body (Cadwallader, 2002).

Marketing Strategy For Green Mountain Coffee

Green Mountain Coffee, which is now known as Keurig Green Mountain, Inc. (KGM) since March of
2014 after acquiring Keurig, Inc. in 2006, currently sells to its Away From Home (AFH) channel and
At Home (AH) in the United States and Canada (9). The company targets coffee drinkers who wish to
enjoy the speed, convenience and quality of Keurig brewed beverages (9) in its AH channel. The AFH
channel, on the other hand, primarily targets the office coffee channel that serves the workplace, food
service and hospitalities industries in the United States, while its Canada segment markets to these
industries through its AFH distributors (9). KGM utilizes numerous marketing programs such as
circular advertising, online promotional campaigns, merchandising features, in store demos, mobile
marketing, display and local and national advertising, and its website and social media pages (9). The
company also has a loyalty program called Club Keurig, offers free samples of its products through its
website and has feet on the street brand ambassadors (8, 10). KGM implements a variety of marketing
approaches to increase the awareness and trial of its products and convert leads into buyers and thus it

Freudian Paradigm Of Mental Illness Research Paper
The Freudian paradigm of mental health states that that mental illness stems from repressed emotion,

Analysis Of At The Abbey Theater By Rory O Neill
At the Abbey Theater in Dublin, Rory O Neill, a LGBT activist and drag queen known as Panti,
confessed that he was a homophobe like everyone else. Panti explained that to grow up in a society
that is overwhelmingly homophobic and to escape unscathed would be miraculous. As a black man, I
am very aware of racism and how it operates whether institutionally, internally or personally
mediated. As a gay man, something I am still trying to deconstruct, I have been oblivious, perhaps
intentionally, to my internalized homophobia. This dissonance in self awareness is partially due to the
fact that I knew I was black from early childhood but did not realize I was gay until sixth grade and
did not begin to even accept it until twelfth. Many people compare the struggles of being black to that
of being gay. In my opinion, despite some similarities the struggles are completely different. One is
rooted in the legacy of over 200 years of slavery and the other in the tradition in people trying to cure
homosexuality. One is more of an external conflict, the other internal. When I am followed around in
stores like J.Crew or Saks, I am outraged and speak up. Realizing that ignorant people need to be
educated, I usually write a letter to the VP of the company or loudly claim that I am being racially
harassed in front of other customers. And it works. The VP s call me back and apologize, the staff goes
through a sensitivity training, and I usually get a gift card with a hefty sum. On

Long Walk Research Paper
The Long Walk was the forced removal of the Navajo people, which began in January 1864 in the
Arizona and New Mexico states. It was hardly recognized by Americans at the time because of the
Civil War and the slavery issues that were so much more important in the North and South part of the
country. The Long Walk is the Navajo Nation s own Trail of Tears . More than 8,500 Navajo men,
women, and children were forced to relocate to an internment camp in New Mexico called the Bosque
Redondo Reservation. The Navajo and some Apache were gathered from Arizona and New Mexico
and had to walk between 375 498 miles depending on which route they took (Remley, pg 230). Along
the way, about 200 people died. Once there the military found that twice the number of people that
they expected came.
For the Navajo people today, it is said that the Long Walk was one of the hardest times in their history.
The Long Walk started in early spring of 1864 and did not end until 1868. At first, it was the Spaniards
who wanted the vast amount of Navajo land hoping to find gold there. Americans then wanted to

Becoming A Dw1 Lawyer
When you are hiring a San Antonio DWI Lawyer, you need to take a number of things into
consideration. A San Antonio DWI attorney is there to help you, in the instance that you are charged
with a DWI and have to go to court to defend yourself. Trying to represent yourself during the court
process would be very foolish and it would undoubtedly him negatively. A judge will not take you
seriously if you have not taken the opportunity to hire a reputable judge to defend you. If you cannot

This is very unfortunate, since it means that anybody who does a background check on you, will be
able to see this DWI. By working with your lawyer, you can have him fight in your defense in order to
have this charge lessened, so that it does not stick to your records. If you are young, if this is a first
time offense, or for any other reasons, you may be able to have the charge lessened or possibly even
removed from your criminal history. This would be a very successful outcome for you, since it means
that employers or other people who have means to check your background history, will not be able to
see this negative aspect year history. This will allow you to still apply for loans, get into an apartment,
rent things and all sorts of other things in life that you absolutely need to do. If you had a DUI on your
criminal background history, a lot of these things would not be possible and it would make it
extremely difficult for you to live life. When you hire a specialized DWI lawyer, they know exactly
what needs to be said to the judge in order to get your charges reduced and hopefully have you leave

The Aftermath of World War I
The aftermath of World War I left a lasting impression on the 1920s because America entered the
Great War later than the big European countries. This gave them an upper hand in their economic
position since they did not spend as much money as France, Germany, and Britain did. This ignited
their unprecedented affluence which had a domino effect in America s society in terms of government
s relationship to business. Another effect of the First World War is the Red Scare and America s
prejudice and fear against the minorities shown through the immigration policies it established. These
changes in the economy increased living standards, evidently seen through the consumer culture,
progressive innovations, and increased consumption. This illusion of expanding prosperity came to an
end with the stock market crash in 1929. This opened America s eyes to their limits which make the
1920s a decade imperative for its legacy rippled throughout our history. With the Republicans in
control of the White House, the policies of promoting business while limiting government control was
in favor. President Calvin Coolidge stated, The business of America was business, which was the truth
as America plunged into a prosperous economic growth fueled by the consumer culture and other new
ideas. The booming economy was led by the automobile industry. This was started by Henry Ford,
who pioneered two developments that made this industry growth possible standardization and mass

500 tumans for the life and virginity of an innocent girl (145,146). This was about women s virginity
bought for almost no cost. This was totally an unfair treatment since they didn t do the same thing to
men. If a man was going to be executed, its virginity would not be taken before execution. This
tradition of not killing women who was virgin was just made to fulfill men s sexual desire. The dowry
system was just a way to free the feeling of guilt that the men might feel and made them to ease. Also,
the restriction on fashion was unfair for women. There were no restrictions for the men on fashion.
Men were allowed to wear whatever they wanted unless it fell under the standards of Iranian
government. However, women s restrictions on fashion were stricter compared to men. Women had to
wear veil. They weren t allowed to wear tight jeans. They weren t allowed to wear jewelries. In
addition, women were not allowed to receive the same education as men. They were restricted from
learning higher level of education and they were not allowed to be educated in the same place. Due to
the Cultural Revolution, boys and girls were educated in a different school which taught had a
different curriculum. Girls weren t able to attend universities. Women were treated unfairly because
they didn t get to study the same thing as men, which violated the right to gain education. In short,
women should not have different standards from the society which caused them to lose

Essay on Analysis of Stille s Ganges Next Life
Bathing in the Ganges is a religious tradition that is an integral part of daily life in India. It represents
a purification of the soul, as Stille states, ...[A] river that, because of its divine origin, is pure and
purifies all those faithful who immerse themselves in her, (598). However, presently, there exists a
dilemma that threatens the survival of this tradition: the poor condition of the river. The river is
polluted with raw sewage, human and industrial waste, the charred remains of bodies, and animal
carcasses (598). In the Ganges Next Life, Alexander Stille contrasts traditional and modern values.
Traditional Hindu values, yet somewhat primitive, reflect thousands of years of experience and
practice. Modern values, on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Nevertheless, he recognizes that environmental safety and other modern ideals cannot be avoided.
Demonstrating his acceptance of technology s ubiquity, Mishra says, These things satellite television,
this internet surfing are with us whether we like it or not (610). As technology advances and expands,
the disparity between the two ideals becomes increasingly noticeable and unavoidable. Although
modern and traditional values are very distinct, they have already begun to merge in many aspects of
Indian life. For example, television, a relatively new technology, has been adapted for the traditional
purpose of worshipping. Indian families set up television sets on altars and worship before them when
viewing religious films. At a glance, this practice appears to be sacrilegious and almost sinful.
However, they are not worshipping the technology, but rather utilizing the technology to worship their
gods. Also, when celebrating the wedding anniversary of the gods Shiva and Parvati, Indians decorate
shrines with flashing electric lights pulsing disco music. In the

The State Of Nature Is An Important And Relevant...
Erich Harkema
Prof. Wolfe
10/1/14
Intro: The state of nature is an important and relevant philosophical idea that has been discussed and
debated for a long time. The reason it is such a key topic in philosophy is it delves into the reasoning
behind why man had to create political society. In order to properly understand the philosophy of the
state of nature it is important to look at conflicting viewpoints about it in order to understand it with
less bias. Thomas Hobbes and Jean Jacques Rosseau both have differing viewpoints regarding the
state of nature. Hobbes feels that man s natural state is cowardly, fearful, almost paranoid, so man
created political society in order to protect himself. Rosseau, on the other hand, feels that man was
much happier before political society was created. Their viewpoints differ regarding the state of
nature, man s phase after leasing their state of nature, and the basis and legitimacy of the social
contract.
Hobbes and Rousseau s views on man s state of nature are quite different. Hobbes feels that man is
naturally brutish, and constantly in a state of misery due to the fact that everyone else is your
adversary and may act as they see fit. Due to this natural state, anyone could simply kill you in your
sleep, like the coward that they naturally are. Hobbes felt that because man did not understand good
and evil, man responds with violence or panic: Hobbes maintains that man is naturally intrepid and
seeks only to attack and fight...And

Analysis Of To Build A Fire
To build a fire written by Jack London is more of a primitive survival story where the protagonist tries
not to freeze to death. It represents the battle of a man versus the nature. When I was reading the story
I could feel my body possessed by the cold temperature just because of the way the author described
it. The man was travelling with a dog, which was more conscious than him about the situation that
they were living and how arduous it was going to be travelling in such conditions. The animal was
depressed by the tremendous cold. It knew that it was no time for travelling. (London) Phrase that
suggests that animal was most self conscious than the man, even smarter.
This story shows how potent nature is, and that it does not matter

Coherentism and Foundationalism
Foundationalism vs. Coherentism Throughout history, philosophers have been trying to come up with
a clear way to provide the justification of our beliefs and knowledge. Noah Lemos offers readers
explanations of both foundationalism and coherentism for theories of justification. These two different
theories offer very different ways to explain the basis of our beliefs. For a foundationalist, they believe
that all of our beliefs can be broken down until we reach a basic belief. This belief would be largely
independent of other beliefs and not derived from other beliefs. A coherentist feels that a belief can be
reasonably justified if it is coheres with our other beliefs. The foundationalist theory of justification
boils everything ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A coherentist however, would justify that the pot is hot through other beliefs that cohere with this
belief. Some of these coherent beliefs would be: the remaining coffee in the pot is hot, the coffee is
freshly brewed which would mean it is hot, I can see steam coming from the coffee in my mug, the
coffee I ve had every other day this week from the same pot have been hot and I can feel the warmth
from the mug in my hand. All of these beliefs are not basic as a foundationalist would like, but they all
cohere and provide reasonable justification for me to believe that the coffee in my mug is hot. It is my
opinion that coherentists have a better argument for beliefs, and more specifically, this example. While
I do think that there are many basic beliefs that are justified simply because they just are, I am not
convinced that all the beliefs we have in this world can be broken down quite in this way. I do
however, feel that many of our beliefs are based in a web of other believes that all support each other.
I know that my coffee is hot for many reasons, one being that I can feel it. I don t think that I
necessarily need to break it down into experiences when I have many other clues that could more
easily justify my belief. There are so many clues and beliefs around me to justify my belief that it s not
necessary to try and deduce anything. There are way too many complicated beliefs in the world that I
do not feel they can all be traced back to basic

Greater Education Colleges are looking for students who push themselves, who are interested and
excited about learning. Honors courses are an indicator of intellectual drive and curiosity. ( Mark
Montgomery). Knowing this, wouldn t all principals and teachers want honors or advanced courses in
their school? Unfortunately, not all schools have them and some even are eliminating these courses. It
may help the core students but there just leaving the higher level students brains for mind numbing
dullness. Separate higher level classes should be available for every student if needed because it
challenges students, improves the behavior of the higher level student, and prepares the students ...

Classes such as AP, honors, and advanced are usually based on preparing you for college, getting you
to college and getting you through college. Katy Hopkins says, Kids [who take AP courses] usually
are able to think outside the box; they re better prepared; they have stronger study skills; and the bar is
held up for them at a level where they reach that bar themselves. They already know, This is what my
teacher is going to expect of me or this is what I expect of myself, As you can you tell, kids who take
specifically AP classes, or generally higher level classes, are prepared with many great skills that are
useful in college or even getting through college. Higher level courses may even help students beyond
college and into the work world. High school students must prepare for college if they hope to have a
middle class income...The best standard for preparation for college is a good working knowledge of
the subject matter earned in challenging courses during high school. For further definition, one of the
tools recommended for college preparation is the Advanced Placement Program, administered by the
nonprofit College Board, which also administers the Scholastic Aptitude Test. (reviewjournal.com).
Apparently, Ap courses can be life changing. These courses can help students through high school,
college, and the rest of their lives. Ap classes can even have the same amount of work as an actual
college student. The bottom line is that college is probably the same amount of work as a high school
schedule full of AP classes. (scholarships.com) All in all Ap and higher level classes are to help to not
break you. The classes prepare you not only for college but for life. If these classes are this important
wouldn t it be offered for every student? Ap and honors classes should be offered to everyone because

The Objective Of Knowledge Management Essay
Introduction
In this global and increasingly knowledge based society, the principal asset for organizations in both
the public and private sectors is knowledge. To survive in the face of such global competitions,
organizations increasingly depend on their ability to transform information into knowledge as the
basis of competitiveness, decision making and the production of new products and services. There for
Knowledge Management (KM) can act as the process of capturing, developing, sharing, and
effectively using organizational knowledge (Davenport, 1994). The ultimate goal of KM is to increase
the effectiveness and the sustainability of growth of an organization. Although KM was originally
develop to fit the needs of for profit companies, but its practice has been spread over to the non profit
sector including LIS. Shanhong (2000) suggests that the objective of knowledge Management in
libraries is to promote knowledge innovation, closer relationships in and between libraries, and
between a library and its users, to strengthen knowledge inter networking and to quicken knowledge
flow. For some in the LIS community, KM is simply a case of new wine in old bottles or of
librarianship in new clothes , and more controversially, as nothing more than information management
(Koenig, 1997; Rowley, 2003; Schwarzwalder, 1999; Wilson, 2002).
The approaches that deal with the application of KM in the LIS environment are relatively new, and
are mainly perceptual and general in nature,

The Impact Of Spatial Abilities On The Creative Song...
spatial abilities are related to more left handedness, which indicates the activeness of right
hemisphere, as measured (p.352). It is also predicted that right hemisphere is in charge of 3 D mental
rotation imagination process (Reio, Czarnolewski and Eliot, 2001, p.352). With better ability to
perform spatial imagination, left handers are surely good at mathematics in the geometry aspect.
Being aided by the right hemisphere in creative thinking, left handed people are also more talented in
musical ability. A survey of 51 professional orchestras in Britain reported that 13% of the musicians
were left handed, slightly, but not hugely, above the national average, which is 10% (Right, Left,
Right, Wrong, n.d.). Many song writers and composers are known to be left handed such as
Beethoven, Mozart, Phil Collins and Paul Simon. The strong inter hemispheric communication is also
an aspect of their creative song writing and composing. The research reported here was motivated by
evidence that some musical abilities are like spatial functions in that they appear to be more dependent
on the right than the left hemisphere (Milner, 1962; Kimura, 1967). Two of the most creative
individuals in history have been Albert Einstein, an early slow learner who exhibited an an unusual
symmetry between the hemispheres (Witelson, Kigar, Harvey, 1999, p. 2151), and Leonardo da Vinci,
who habitually wrote left handed in mirror writing. Their lateral preference could be related to their
achievement

White Fang By Jack London
The book White Fang is written by author Jack London. White Fang takes place in the 1980 s
Klondike gold rush. It tells the story of a wolf named White Fang, who is three fourths wolf and one
fourth dog, and was born in the wild, but was brought into a village at a young age. White Fang is then
brought to Fort Yukon by his current master Grey Beaver, and White Fang starts to fight the new
found dogs that come off the boat for fun. Beauty Smith, a man who is very mean and very ugly,
wants to buy White Fang from Grey Beaver because of White Fang s ferociousness. Grey Beaver didn

They hunt together while the she wolf is looking for her cave that she usually has her puppies in.
When they find the cave, the she wolf has five puppies. The point of view then switches over to baby
wolf White Fang, but at this time he isn t called that. White Fang looked just like his father, and was
very nosy. Soon another famine comes, and all of his brothers and sisters die, and his father dies from
being attacked by a lynx. The mother kills the lynx s kittens, and the lynx was going to kill White
Fang, but the she wolf saved White Fang and killed the lynx. The next central setting is in an Indian
camp where Grey Beaver takes White Fang and the she wolf, who is part dog, and was named Kiche
until she escaped. After they stayed at the camp for a while, Kiche, the she wolf, is taken away down
the river; White Fang is forced to stay behind with Grey Beaver. Then the Indians moved their camp,
and White Fang thrived in the wilderness because he escaped, but he went back to the Indian camp
though. When it was around winter, Grey Beaver set off to Fort Yukon, another important setting, and
Grey Beaver made White fang leader of the sled pack, which made White Fang the most hated dog.
Here White Fang was still the main point of view, but Beauty Smith comes to buy White Fang. Beauty
Smith ends up with White Fang, and starts making the wolf fight dogs because of his love of White
Fang s ferociousness. Beauty Smith gets

  • 3. Essay On My Grand Ole Opry I have always been a lover of photography. Photos reveal a sense of emotion whether that is happiness, sadness, or anger. It can capture such a powerful moment in time. It shows a person who they are, their past, present, and most importantly how they have grown. With the technology that is readily available, and as many pictures that are captured on a daily basis, a story can unfold. My Grand Ole Opry photo shows a huge smile on my face. It reminds me of my love for music and how just by attending that one show at the Opry, I knew that I wanted to be in the music business for the rest of my life. Being with my mom and grandma, I go back to the daily car rides to preschool with my karaoke machine in hand singing at the top of my lungs to the cassette tape in the radio. Grandma and I sitting down to write the lyrics so maybe one day I could sing the correct words instead of some made up ones. The good country music reminds me of bopping around the house with my grandma, and also of bus rides to school in Nebraska. I would always have my CD player in my hand showing off to my friends for the latest and greatest tunes, I was basically the bus DJ. Eventually, that CD player would turn into a mp3 player and then onto an iPod. Although it was before the Opry, I had always loved the thought of owning a record player, but it wasn t until after the Opry show when I really pushed for getting one. • 4. Marina Budhos Characters When it comes to family you must never give up no matter no matter what the task or how long it takes, and it is expected that you will go through some mood changes along the way. It is very ubiquitous that in a novel authors use various characterization techniques to divulge an innovation in their main character(s). Marina Budhos uses her novel Ask Me No Questions to set an example. In the novel, it is clear that Nadira is the main character, and Nadira goes through a change of dynamism and emotion due to Budhos methods. Budhos uses characterization methods to reveal a change in Nadra. To start off, early in the novel Nadira has built up some envy because Aisha is better than her. The author used the internal dialogue technique to show the change in Nadra when she says.... She s the quick one...whom Abba treats like a firstborn son, while I m the slow wit second born who just follows along . A little burn of envy sears through me right now . It is inferred that Nadira thinks of Aisha as the favorite child , and she is the one that s just average . She always knows what to say and when in order to cheer up Abba and Ma. • 5. Human Population On Earth s Life It is terrifying to realize that the human population on Earth has reached over 7.3 billion people. This astonishing and constantly increasing amount of people threatens our planet s limited resources. It is times like these that make me nostalgic for the feudal ages, where large populations of people were decimated by illnesses such as the plague. The advances in modern medicine today, while extremely impressive, are ultimately extremely detrimental to the human population as a whole because they surprisingly help prevent people from dying. How dare they! Humans are starting to get a better quality of life due to the many advances in medical technology and knowledge, but at what cost? People won t die! The question is, why should we, as a society, try to prevent people from dying when it s inevitable? In the animal kingdom, it s everyone for themselves, or survival of the fittest. If people are too weak to fight off an illness, or too stupid to find a way to stay alive, then they should die. There have been many other extremely knowledgeable humans who agree that eventually, the earth s carrying capacity will no longer be able to keep up with population growth, and civilization will end unless large swaths of human beings are killed, so the question is: How do we want to do this? In a very credible and well esteemed publication, Dr. Edwin Peters, a Cambridge University ecologist followed up this statement by asking a critical question: Do we want to give ... Eastlyn Koons Robots Are Better Than Humans The increased development of artificial intelligence and the everyday use of technology can lead to a future full of robots, claims Eastlyn Koons in Robots are Better than Humans. Koons lives in the modern day where advancements are being made every day in the field of technology and artificial intelligence machines have started to replace the jobs of some people. People fear the uprising of robot rebellion and an inevitable Doomsday because of it. Through appeals to fear and pride, Koons asks the world to consider the use of technology in their lives and the role it may play in the future. In the first sentence, Koons claims that robots are better than humans, as they are humans favorite things , suggesting that the humans basically created their own better version. Koons utilizes a rhetorical question to ask why humans are still there , showcasing the dispensability and non necessity of humans when robots are present. • 9. The, Suspense, And The Unknown Essay Detective novels of the mystery genre have always been fraught with terror, suspense, and the unknown. Normally those such novels are subject to the public eye under the scrutiny of just how much of it is real or simply superstition and science fiction just sensational writing. Sensational writing in and of itself is not supposed to be thought provoking to the reader, but instead plays off the reader s baser emotions that center around adrenaline like fear and excitement. While A Study in Scarlet, by essence of being a detective novel, is still considered sensational writing, it brought a level of subtleness to the sensationalism that evoked a deeper response in the readers. One particular event where the sensationalism was extremely downplayed was the murder itself in the novel. For the police detective Gregson and Lestrade, their biggest question at the scene of the crime was not really who murdered but how he murdered as there was not any noticeable blood or wounds on the victim. Lestrade even goes so far as to remark, This case will make a stir, sir...It beats anything I have seen, and I am no chicken (Doyle 25). The unusual circumstances of the death cause the reader to think deeper about how the victim could have possibly died, subtly ensnaring the reader to be even further interested. Fear of the unknown is the greatest thing subtly sensationalism can do since it can evoke a greater response in a few words than what pages of grotesque description can do. If Doyle ... • 11. History And Advancement Of Anabolic Steroids History of Steroids So as to follow the history and advancement of anabolic steroids from their starting to their present day structure, we initially need to think back towards old times, when it was realized that the testicles were required for both the improvement and upkeep of male sexual qualities. In advancement, this idea was further created, by a researcher named Berthold and his examinations on cockerels done in 1849. He expelled the testes from these winged creatures, and they lost a few of the attributes basic to the male of their species, including sexual capacity. In this way, we knew as right on time as 1849 that the testicles worked to elevate what we consider to be essential male sexual properties; at the end of the day, they are what make men into men . Berthold additionally found that if the testicles were uprooted and after that transplanted to the stomach area, the sexual capacity of the winged animals was to a great extent unaffected. At the point when the fowls were analyzed, it was found that no apprehensive associations were shaped, yet a limitlessly broad arrangement of capillarization occurred. (1) This gave solid confirmation that the testes follow up on the blood (2) and he further inferred this blood then systemically affected the whole living being. Anabolic Steroid history, along these lines, can be really said to have made its initial step with this straightforward arrangement of tests. Later, in 1929 a method to deliver a concentrate ... The safest camps were located around Joint Base Myer Henderson Hall, which was actually made up of three joined bases, Fort Myer and Fort McNair (both US Army) and Henderson Hall USMC. There were four camps that surrounded the Joint Base that went from bad to horrendous. They were camps Alpha through Delta, Camp Alpha being the closest to Fort Myer s main gate and Delta being the closest to the primary gate to Henderson Hall. Each camp held roughly fifteen hundred people. The camps were not secure and none had any form of government. • 13. Acute Renal Failure Essay Acute renal failure is the sudden loss of the kidneys ability to function; affecting more than 100,000 people in the United States alone each year (NIDDK, 2008). This paper will discuss the basic pathophysiology of acute renal failure, including its cause, disease mechanisms, symptoms, some of the treatments and pharmacological therapies. Pathophysiology Acute renal failure (ARF) is the rapid loss of kidney function occurring when high levels of uremic toxins accumulate in the blood. ARF occurs when the kidneys are unable to excrete the daily load of toxins in the urine. The most common causes of ARF are dehydration, blood loss from major surgery or injury, or medications such as NSAIDs, antibiotics, or the dyes used in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the kidneys usually start working again within several weeks to months after the underlying cause has been treated. Many people, however, die because of the primary disease that has caused the kidney failure. Studies have estimated overall death rates for AKF at 42 88%, (Krapp, 2002). Up to 10% of patients who experience ARF will suffer irreversible kidney damage. They will eventually go on to develop chronic kidney failure or end stage renal disease. These patients will require long term dialysis or kidney transplantation to replace their lost renal functioning (Krapp, 2002). Clinical manifestations In the beginning stages of ARF, there may not be any symptoms; usually symptoms become noticeable the longer ARF goes undetected or is left untreated. Fatigue is a common symptom due to anemia. Healthy kidneys produce a hormone called erythropoietin that tells the body to make red blood cells. As the kidneys fail, they make less erythropoietin (NIDDK, 2008). With fewer red blood cells to carry oxygen, the body becomes tired very quickly. Some patients experience lower back pain resulting from kidney stones or other obstructions. A big indicator of kidney problems is changes in the urination, including decreased urine output. In addition, the urine might be foamy signifying buildup of protein, or contain blood due to an obstruction. Edema could be present due to the build of fluids within the body (Cadwallader, 2002). Freudian Paradigm Of Mental Illness Research Paper The Freudian paradigm of mental health states that that mental illness stems from repressed emotion, and unidentified conflicts within the unconscious mind and could be treated using his personally designed mode of therapy called, Psychoanalysis. Freud also believed that one could only understand a person s mental illness through intimate understanding of that person s past and personality, not through taxonomic diagnosis. Field Trips are always exciting growing up because it s a day off of school until you get lost. I always looked forward to going on field trips growing up. To me it was an opportunity to miss class but also learn new exciting things. Every year in middle school, my school went to the Los Angeles County Fair in the beginning of September. Since it was the beginning of the school year, it was a fun time considering this is the most exciting field trip all year. There was this feeling about this field trip that it was going to be different. It was my eighth grade year and the last time going to the fair with my school. Before we left, we took attendance, ... I was walking and at the corner of my eye, I saw a person from my group looking at some artifacts. I went over there and saw the rest of my group. I became relieved to see them. My friend asked me, where I did I go? And I told her, that I was still writing down facts when they left me. At that point I realized, that they may have left me on purpose because I wasn t with them. Despite whatever the reason was I had to make sure I was around my group at all times. • 19. Analysis Of At The Abbey Theater By Rory O Neill At the Abbey Theater in Dublin, Rory O Neill, a LGBT activist and drag queen known as Panti, confessed that he was a homophobe like everyone else. Panti explained that to grow up in a society that is overwhelmingly homophobic and to escape unscathed would be miraculous. As a black man, I am very aware of racism and how it operates whether institutionally, internally or personally mediated. As a gay man, something I am still trying to deconstruct, I have been oblivious, perhaps intentionally, to my internalized homophobia. This dissonance in self awareness is partially due to the fact that I knew I was black from early childhood but did not realize I was gay until sixth grade and did not begin to even accept it until twelfth. Many people compare the struggles of being black to that of being gay. In my opinion, despite some similarities the struggles are completely different. One is rooted in the legacy of over 200 years of slavery and the other in the tradition in people trying to cure homosexuality. One is more of an external conflict, the other internal. When I am followed around in stores like J.Crew or Saks, I am outraged and speak up. Realizing that ignorant people need to be educated, I usually write a letter to the VP of the company or loudly claim that I am being racially harassed in front of other customers. And it works. The VP s call me back and apologize, the staff goes through a sensitivity training, and I usually get a gift card with a hefty sum. On ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was hardly recognized by Americans at the time because of the Civil War and the slavery issues that were so much more important in the North and South part of the country. The Long Walk is the Navajo Nation s own Trail of Tears . More than 8,500 Navajo men, women, and children were forced to relocate to an internment camp in New Mexico called the Bosque Redondo Reservation. The Navajo and some Apache were gathered from Arizona and New Mexico and had to walk between 375 498 miles depending on which route they took (Remley, pg 230). Along the way, about 200 people died. Once there the military found that twice the number of people that they expected came. For the Navajo people today, it is said that the Long Walk was one of the hardest times in their history. This gave them an upper hand in their economic position since they did not spend as much money as France, Germany, and Britain did. This ignited their unprecedented affluence which had a domino effect in America s society in terms of government s relationship to business. Another effect of the First World War is the Red Scare and America s prejudice and fear against the minorities shown through the immigration policies it established. These changes in the economy increased living standards, evidently seen through the consumer culture, progressive innovations, and increased consumption. This illusion of expanding prosperity came to an end with the stock market crash in 1929. This opened America s eyes to their limits which make the 1920s a decade imperative for its legacy rippled throughout our history. • 26. The State Of Nature Is An Important And Relevant... Erich Harkema Prof. Wolfe 10/1/14 Intro: The state of nature is an important and relevant philosophical idea that has been discussed and debated for a long time. The reason it is such a key topic in philosophy is it delves into the reasoning behind why man had to create political society. In order to properly understand the philosophy of the state of nature it is important to look at conflicting viewpoints about it in order to understand it with less bias. Thomas Hobbes and Jean Jacques Rosseau both have differing viewpoints regarding the state of nature. Hobbes feels that man s natural state is cowardly, fearful, almost paranoid, so man created political society in order to protect himself. Rosseau, on the other hand, feels that man was much happier before political society was created. Their viewpoints differ regarding the state of nature, man s phase after leasing their state of nature, and the basis and legitimacy of the social contract. Hobbes and Rousseau s views on man s state of nature are quite different. Hobbes feels that man is naturally brutish, and constantly in a state of misery due to the fact that everyone else is your adversary and may act as they see fit. Due to this natural state, anyone could simply kill you in your sleep, like the coward that they naturally are. Hobbes felt that because man did not understand good and evil, man responds with violence or panic: Hobbes maintains that man is naturally intrepid and seeks only to attack and fight...And ... Coherentism and Foundationalism Foundationalism vs. Coherentism Throughout history, philosophers have been trying to come up with a clear way to provide the justification of our beliefs and knowledge. Noah Lemos offers readers explanations of both foundationalism and coherentism for theories of justification. These two different theories offer very different ways to explain the basis of our beliefs. For a foundationalist, they believe that all of our beliefs can be broken down until we reach a basic belief. This belief would be largely independent of other beliefs and not derived from other beliefs. A coherentist feels that a belief can be reasonably justified if it is coheres with our other beliefs. The foundationalist theory of justification boils everything ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A coherentist however, would justify that the pot is hot through other beliefs that cohere with this belief. Some of these coherent beliefs would be: the remaining coffee in the pot is hot, the coffee is freshly brewed which would mean it is hot, I can see steam coming from the coffee in my mug, the coffee I ve had every other day this week from the same pot have been hot and I can feel the warmth from the mug in my hand. All of these beliefs are not basic as a foundationalist would like, but they all cohere and provide reasonable justification for me to believe that the coffee in my mug is hot. It is my opinion that coherentists have a better argument for beliefs, and more specifically, this example. While I do think that there are many basic beliefs that are justified simply because they just are, I am not convinced that all the beliefs we have in this world can be broken down quite in this way. I do however, feel that many of our beliefs are based in a web of other believes that all support each other. I know that my coffee is hot for many reasons, one being that I can feel it. • 30. The Objective Of Knowledge Management Essay Introduction In this global and increasingly knowledge based society, the principal asset for organizations in both the public and private sectors is knowledge. To survive in the face of such global competitions, organizations increasingly depend on their ability to transform information into knowledge as the basis of competitiveness, decision making and the production of new products and services. There for Knowledge Management (KM) can act as the process of capturing, developing, sharing, and effectively using organizational knowledge (Davenport, 1994). The ultimate goal of KM is to increase the effectiveness and the sustainability of growth of an organization. Although KM was originally develop to fit the needs of for profit companies, but its practice has been spread over to the non profit sector including LIS. Shanhong (2000) suggests that the objective of knowledge Management in libraries is to promote knowledge innovation, closer relationships in and between libraries, and between a library and its users, to strengthen knowledge inter networking and to quicken knowledge flow. For some in the LIS community, KM is simply a case of new wine in old bottles or of librarianship in new clothes , and more controversially, as nothing more than information management (Koenig, 1997; Rowley, 2003; Schwarzwalder, 1999; Wilson, 2002). It is also predicted that right hemisphere is in charge of 3 D mental rotation imagination process (Reio, Czarnolewski and Eliot, 2001, p.352). With better ability to perform spatial imagination, left handers are surely good at mathematics in the geometry aspect. Being aided by the right hemisphere in creative thinking, left handed people are also more talented in musical ability. A survey of 51 professional orchestras in Britain reported that 13% of the musicians were left handed, slightly, but not hugely, above the national average, which is 10% (Right, Left, Right, Wrong, n.d.). Many song writers and composers are known to be left handed such as Beethoven, Mozart, Phil Collins and Paul Simon. The strong inter hemispheric communication is also an aspect of their creative song writing and composing. The research reported here was motivated by evidence that some musical abilities are like spatial functions in that they appear to be more dependent on the right than the left hemisphere (Milner, 1962; Kimura, 1967). Two of the most creative individuals in history have been Albert Einstein, an early slow learner who exhibited an an unusual symmetry between the hemispheres (Witelson, Kigar, Harvey, 1999, p. 2151), and Leonardo da Vinci, who habitually wrote left handed in mirror writing.
