2. Social Group
New affluent workers - a young class group which is
socially and culturally active, with middling levels of
economic capital
Technical middle class - a small, distinctive new class
group which is prosperous but scores low for social and
cultural capital. Distinguished by its social isolation and
cultural apathy
These social classes are associated with my magazine as
the target audience is males and females that are aged
17-30 due to the style and genre of my magazine.
3. Front cover
The artist on the front
cover is a 17 year old
female. She
represents up coming
young artists, and
that she is trying to
make a serious career
from the music
industry due to her
serious facial
expression.
The colour scheme and
typography present a
magazine aimed at young
people as the colours are
bright and the font of the
text is bold. Appealing to
a younger social group. By
having a bright red, navy
blue and white the colour
scheme attracts to both
male and female
The artist is wearing a
high street printed t-shirt
representing how she is
relatable and the
audience could go out
and buy a similar top. She
is presented as a role
model or inspiration to
others that want a career
in the music industry.
The artists makeup is
bright and fresh
representing her being a
fresh face in the charts
and conveys her as being
relatable to other people
in the charts both male
and female.
4. Contents
The artists in all of the three
images on my contents page
give an impression of
relatable people that look
like everybody else. They
are wearing simple clothing
and have simple
backgrounds so that readers
feel like the artists are
everyday people. They also
carry serious looking facial
expressions presenting their
serious approach to their
career and music.
The bright exciting colour
scheme follows through the
magazine to the contents
page creating a flow
through the magazine.
Linking to the young social
group my product is aimed
at.
The artists in the group are
photographed in a
warehouse to reiterate the
idea of them starting off like
everybody else. Just normal
people, inviting the reader
in to learn more about them
and their music.
The simple organised layout
makes the magazine easy
and uncluttered to the eye
making the magazine
understandable .
5. Double page spread
The headline is
built up of
different sized
texts and then
stacked on top of
each other in an
almost jigsaw like
arrangement to
make It appealing
to the eye
represent a new
take on the layout
of a headline
mirroring the
exciting take on
chart music.
The artist has a
bright
complexion and
is photographed
wearing natural
makeup. This is
emphasised by
the black and
white of the
photo. The photo
represents the
idea of a normal
girl following her
dream.
She is dressed in
a plain black shirt
to represent the
idea that anyone
could follow in
her footsteps if
they tried.
