1. How does your media product represent
particular social groups?

2.  The genre of my magazine is Indie Rock, and
therefore the social group is mainly teenagers
and young adults. Due to this social group,
the images used must be artistic and slightly
abstract in order to represent the different
views that come with this particular genre of
magazine.

3.  The genre doesn’t have a set stereotypical costume, so I
dressed my model in casual clothing to show how the genre
can be appreciated by people of all backgrounds and
cultures. Although this is true my cover girl does have a slight
edge on the way I have dressed her, such as her pattern knee
high socks and she also wears a leopard print top, this
represents that rock/indie music is related more towards a
rebellious crowd that will always stand out a bit from the
crowd.

4.  The colours used are bright to draw attention from
a younger market as teenagers and young adults
are more likely to be engaged by bright colours
then simply black and white, it also shows the side
of music that people enjoy, and therefore the
bright colours represent the happiness that music
brings to people.

5.  My magazine is based mainly on the Hedonist ideas
of having fun now and enjoying life, and therefore
music and not necessarily caring about the future.
Due to this my magazine has bright and positive
connotes such as carefree and unique in order to
help my audience relax and not bombard them
with heavy issues.
