2. To start off with, I opened up InDesign and added the amount of pages I needed. I
started off with my front cover and then I used the rectangle frame tool over the
whole of my page ready to insert my picture.
3. I then added my picture. I had to make sure that the picture had fitted the whole
of the page without any parts missing and because the quality was very good it
wasn’t blurry.
4. The title of my magazine is ‘UpBeat’ so I added a text box at the top of my
magazine and put UpBeat. At this point I wanted to keep the title black so I didn’t
consider changing that but I changed the font of it and made the text bigger to fit
with the R&B magazine genre.
5. I then started to add the little details on my magazine that make a magazine
become a magazine, I made sure I did this first so I knew where I needed to add it
and so I wouldn’t end up forgetting. At the top I added the date and at the
bottom I added the barcode with the price.
6. I then added text boxes around my magazine of where I was going to add my
straplines, after doing that I started to copy and paste them in. I started to play
around with the sizes and fonts to make the magazine stand out.
7. I changed the colours of the straplines so that it was understandable and met
with the house style of the magazine.
8. I made the main parts of my strapline in a redish colour which was going to be
one of my main colours in my magazine. This makes it stand out more so that you
see the main parts of it first which draw you into the magaznie.
9. I then made the final touches with the magazine and made sure I was perfectly
fine with it. This is the results to my front cover of my magazine.
