Both male and female teenagers within the ages of 12-18
would be the type to like r&b music and the artists within
this category. However the magazines that will be made will
be aimed at teenagers aged 15-18, because they will into
the latest gossip about their favourite artist to find out
what’s new. Within the magazine it will include the new
gossip about celebrities that teenagers like and would want
to know more about, this would appeal to teenagers this
age and not older or younger.

take care (2011), is his most successful
to date. Drake is known as a
mainstream rapper/singer. He is signed
to young money which gave him more
fame and more noticeable. His new
single ‘hotline bling’ is a big success to
his career.

“I am really into r&b music, I like the songs that come under
the category because they’re just my type. One main
reason is because I love songs from artists like Nicki Minaj.
I really like her music because her songs are very upbeat
and are very cheerful which puts me in a good mood. I
really enjoy being around my friends and listening to Nicki
Minaj because we all like getting together singing, dancing
and having a laugh. I really enjoy r&b music because
they’re very up beat and always there to lift up your moods
and can be relatable too. The type of music in r&b varies
with different artist which I really like because every song is
different and unique which makes it so good.”

“I would say that r&b music is really entertaining and really
good to listen to because they’re very upbeat and mood
lifting. The types of songs can be very relatable that
everyone can relate to which makes us like it more. For me
I prefer all the artists within the r&b category because each
type of songs are different and very live which makes it
hard for a favourite song/artist to be chosen. They’re so
many songs out all the time which I enjoy because hearing
new songs that I like put me in a good mood. The main
artists that I listen to is Chris Brown, Drake, Tyga and Nicki
Minaj.
8. What I’ve learnt
I have learnt that the majority of r&b fans are teenagers
aged 16-17. This is because r&b music is very upbeat and
mood lifting which most teenagers like. Both males and
females will listen and like r&b because it is relatable for
both genders and is mainly out there for both genders too.
Even though there are more male r&b artists than females,
it doesn’t change the amount of people that like r&b music.
