2. Secondly, I added my image, as I cut it out from a green screen background. I’ve put it on the right
to ensure there is enough space for my masthead and cover features.
3. Secondly, I’ve added my masthead to my front cover as it’s the first thing that
allows my readers to identify my magazine. It went through several changes
during production but this is the one I ended with as I think it’s bold enough and
fits with my style.
4. I then added my main cover line along with the tag ‘world exclusive’ to connote to my
readers that my magazine is the only one with this interview, making it exclusive,
drawing in readers if they like this particular artist. The ‘Hazy Days’ font is cool and
modern; fitting with the model I picked for the image. I’ve used the text and highlight
tools to change the colours of the font.
5. Here, I’ve now added the rest of my front cover lines, slowly developing a
house style of red, white, grey and black. The ‘Modern Minimalist’ sub title
may provide an enigma code to my readers and make them want to know
what it means. I’ve also placed a strip at the bottom of my magazine to list
artists on, using the rectangular marquee tool in Photoshop.
6. Then, using the text tool, I added some more sub headings, and my strap
line ‘The pulse of indie rock’, using the key word pulse as I feel it fits
with the indie genre. I’ve now also added my barcode along with price
and issue number/date for any magazine collectors.
