OFFENSIVE
Luis Perez, Texas A&M University-Commerce, SR, QB, Chula Vista, Calif., Otay Ranch HS/Southwestern JC
Perez led the No. 10 Lions to a 34-20 victory over Angelo State with 373 yards passing, completing 34-of-46 attempts
with four touchdowns and no interceptions. He completed touchdown passes of 49, 11, 7, and 33 yards. He had four
touchdown passes for his sixth straight game - the only QB in Division II to do that this season. He has also went for over
300 yards for the fifth straight game and 10th time in his career. He moved up to fourth all-time at A&M-Commerce in
passing yards at 5,585 - only 370 away from tying the school record. The Lions now rank fifth nationally in passing
offense and Perez leads the LSC in completion percentage, passing efficiency, passing touchdowns, and point
responsibility. He ranks second in the league in passing yardage."
DEFENSIVE
Drew Bolin, Midwestern State University, JR, LB, Keller, Texas, Keller Central HS
Bolin led a true defensive team effort as No. 5 Midwestern State held West Texas A&M to 228 yards of total offense in a
45-3 Homecoming win Saturday night at Memorial Stadium. The junior from Keller tied for team-honors with four
tackles including a sack and was in on another tackle for loss. The Mustangs limited the Buffs 19 yards in the second half
as WT managed just 49 plays for the whole game. The 228 yards were the fewest an MSU defense allowed since the
Mustangs limited Truman State to 171 yards on Sept. 5, 2015.
SPECIAL TEAMS
Collin Grady, Western New Mexico, JR, K, Glendora, Calif., Glendora
Grady continues to be clutch for the Mustangs on special teams this year as he hit the game-winning 27-yard field goal
to give WNMU the 20-17 victory over the Skyhawks. Earlier in the game he connected on a 40-yard field goal to get the
Mustangs on the board in the third quarter. He added three punts for an average of 45.3 yards, drilling one 58 yards.

OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Donovan Thompson, Angelo State University, set the ASU single game record for receptions in a game with 13
against Texas A&M-Commerce. The senior caught 170 yards which is the third most in the single game in the LSC this
season. He caught a long of 31 yards and averaged 13.0 yards per catch.
D.J. Myers, Midwestern State University, set career marks with eight receptions for 149 yards and added a rushing
score to lead No. 5 Midwestern State to a 45-3 Homecoming victory over rival West Texas A&M Saturday night at
Memorial Stadium. The 6-3, 198-pound senior took a slant pass and raced 72 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter
to ignite and MSU offensive attack which amassed 521 yards. Myers closed scoring with a 14-yard TD on an end around
with 7:08 to play. The game was called due to lightning two minutes later. It was his second 100-yard receiving game of
the season and he has accounted for touchdowns in four of the last five games. Myers leads the Mustangs with 23
receptions for 400 yards and four touchdowns.
Zed Woerner, Tarleton State University, put together his best performance of the year to lead Tarleton past Texas
A&M-Kingsville in front of a national audience on ESPN3 Saturday night. The senior quarterback was 25-of-38 passing for
337 yards with four touchdowns - all four of which went to different receivers. Woerner got everyone involved in the
passing game as the senior from Marble Falls competed passes to seven different Texans on the night, including the first
career touchdowns for Cornellius Carrington and Baxter Kirven. His big night also came courtesy of excellent protection
from the guys up front as the offensive line allowed Woerner to stay upright for most of the night. He was only sacked
twice despite playing against the league's top-sacking defense. Woerner also rushed for 12 yards on the night.
Javia Hall, Western New Mexico, led three straight scoring drives to tie the game at 17 against Fort Lewis and
eventually setup the winning field goal with under a minute to play as WNMU roared back for the 20-17 victory. He
passed for 247 yards, completing 27-46 for a touchdown and a long pass of 31 yards. He also had no interceptions and
added a long rush of four yards. Hall completed passes to nine different receivers.
Brandon Infiesto, UT Permian Basin, had a career day for the Falcons, running for 175 yards and a pair of
touchdowns in a 42-7 win over Quincy. He averaged 9.7 yards per carry on 18 attempts as UTPB ran for 373 yards as a
team. He broke off a 66 yard touchdown on his second carry of the game, and added a 14 yard run towards the end of
the third quarter. He leads the Falcons with 517 total rushing yards on the season through eight games.
Nick Pelrean, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, had a big day against Tarleton State on ESPN by gathering 224 yards
from scrimmage and two touchdowns. The junior averaged 9.5 yards on 18 carries and led the team with three
receptions for 53 yards. In the first quarter, the Houston native went the distance with a 68-yard rush and then hauled in
a 37-yard touchdown reception to trim the Texan lead to seven in the fourth quarter. This game marks Pelrean's second
game over 100 yards in the 2017 season, and first game with multiple scores.
Basil Jackson, Tarleton State University, continued his dominant senior season as the linebacker from Arlington
topped double-figure tackles for the sixth time this season with 15 to lead all defenders. Jackson made nine solo stops
and 2.5 behind the line of scrimmage. His biggest play of the night came in the fourth quarter when Kingsville was
driving into Tarleton territory trailing 20-31. Kingsville decided to go for it on fourth and two from the Tarleton 41-yard
line, but Jackson put a stop to the drive with an eight-yard sack of QB Cade Dyal to give the ball back to Tarleton. That
turnover on downs ultimately led to a field goal for Tarleton.
Justin Jackson, Angelo State University, led the Ram defense with 12 total tackles and a 1.0 tackles for loss. The
junior recorded eight solo tackles and is ranked in the top 10 in Division II in total tackles at 11.1 per game.
Dominique Ramsey, Texas A&M University-Commerce, led the No. 10 Lions in tackles on the way to a 34-20 win
over Angelo State. He had eight total stops and a key interception that sealed the victory. The Lions held the Rams 117
yards under their previous season average thanks to the strong defensive effort. The Rams were driving to cut the
margin to one score before Ramsey made a leaping interception at the A&M-Commerce 1-yardline to prevent any Ram
comeback efforts.
Leo Marin, Western New Mexico, was solid on defense for the Mustangs as he posted 1.5 sacks and two tackles for
loss, with his other half-tackle for loss resulting in a fourth down stop. He added five tackles, with one coming solo.
Sergio Sroka, Tarleton State University, was money in the kicking game for the Texans Saturday night against Texas
A&M-Kingsville. The senior from Miami was 2-for-2 on field goals, starting with a 43-yard kick in the second quarter to
extend the Texans' lead to double digits at 17-7. His 19-yard field goal to start the scoring in the fourth quarter extended
Tarleton's lead to 14 points at 34-20. Sroka was also a perfect 5-for-5 on extra points, giving him 11 of Tarleton's 41 total
points for the contest.
Connor Flanigan, Angelo State University, was stellar in the kicking game adding two more field goals to his season
total. The sophomore recorded a 45 yard and 21 yard field goal to keep ASU within striking distance against Texas A&M-
Commerce. The Austin native also averaged 62.2 yards per kick with three touch backs.
Tristan Perry, Texas A&M University-Commerce, was a weapon at punter in the No. 10 Lions' 34-20 win over Angelo
State, with two punts of 53 yards apiece on the way to a 44.7 yard punting average and a 43.0 yard net punt average. He
pinned the Rams inside their own 20-yardline three times and the Rams only elected to return two punts for 12 total
yards. Perry now ranks fourth in the LSC in punt average at 40.0 yards per punt.
Bailey Giffen, UT Permian Basin, was a perfect 3-3 in field goal attempts this past weekend, connecting all three
times in the second quarter of a 42-7 win over Quincy. He nailed a 55-yard attempt on the first play of the quarter,
connected from 40 yards out on the next drive, and hit from 50 yards as time expired in the first half to give the Falcons
a 23-7 halftime lead.
Mitchell Henton, Midwestern State University, placed each of his two punts inside the 20-yard line while helping
No. 5 Midwestern State improve to 6-0 with a 45-3 rout of West Texas A&M Saturday night at Memorial Stadium. The 6-
2, 225-pound senior averaged 40 yards on two punts including a long of 54 yards. Henton has accounted for five punts of
50-or-more yards over the last four weeks to bring his season average to 41 yards per punt. He ranks third in program
history with a 38.92 yards per attempt average.

  • 2. DEFENSIVE Drew Bolin, Midwestern State University, JR, LB, Keller, Texas, Keller Central HS Bolin led a true defensive team effort as No. 5 Midwestern State held West Texas A&M to 228 yards of total offense in a 45-3 Homecoming win Saturday night at Memorial Stadium. The junior from Keller tied for team-honors with four tackles including a sack and was in on another tackle for loss. The Mustangs limited the Buffs 19 yards in the second half as WT managed just 49 plays for the whole game. The 228 yards were the fewest an MSU defense allowed since the Mustangs limited Truman State to 171 yards on Sept. 5, 2015. SPECIAL TEAMS Collin Grady, Western New Mexico, JR, K, Glendora, Calif., Glendora Grady continues to be clutch for the Mustangs on special teams this year as he hit the game-winning 27-yard field goal to give WNMU the 20-17 victory over the Skyhawks. • 3. OTHER TOP PERFORMERS Donovan Thompson, Angelo State University, set the ASU single game record for receptions in a game with 13 against Texas A&M-Commerce. The senior caught 170 yards which is the third most in the single game in the LSC this season. He caught a long of 31 yards and averaged 13.0 yards per catch. D.J. Myers, Midwestern State University, set career marks with eight receptions for 149 yards and added a rushing score to lead No. 5 Midwestern State to a 45-3 Homecoming victory over rival West Texas A&M Saturday night at Memorial Stadium. The 6-3, 198-pound senior took a slant pass and raced 72 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter to ignite and MSU offensive attack which amassed 521 yards. Myers closed scoring with a 14-yard TD on an end around with 7:08 to play. The game was called due to lightning two minutes later. It was his second 100-yard receiving game of the season and he has accounted for touchdowns in four of the last five games. Myers leads the Mustangs with 23 receptions for 400 yards and four touchdowns. Zed Woerner, Tarleton State University, put together his best performance of the year to lead Tarleton past Texas A&M-Kingsville in front of a national audience on ESPN3 Saturday night. The senior quarterback was 25-of-38 passing for 337 yards with four touchdowns - all four of which went to different receivers. Woerner got everyone involved in the passing game as the senior from Marble Falls competed passes to seven different Texans on the night, including the first career touchdowns for Cornellius Carrington and Baxter Kirven. His big night also came courtesy of excellent protection from the guys up front as the offensive line allowed Woerner to stay upright for most of the night. He was only sacked twice despite playing against the league's top-sacking defense. Woerner also rushed for 12 yards on the night. Javia Hall, Western New Mexico, led three straight scoring drives to tie the game at 17 against Fort Lewis and eventually setup the winning field goal with under a minute to play as WNMU roared back for the 20-17 victory. He passed for 247 yards, completing 27-46 for a touchdown and a long pass of 31 yards. He also had no interceptions and added a long rush of four yards. Hall completed passes to nine different receivers. Brandon Infiesto, UT Permian Basin, had a career day for the Falcons, running for 175 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 42-7 win over Quincy. He averaged 9.7 yards per carry on 18 attempts as UTPB ran for 373 yards as a team. He broke off a 66 yard touchdown on his second carry of the game, and added a 14 yard run towards the end of the third quarter. He leads the Falcons with 517 total rushing yards on the season through eight games. Nick Pelrean, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, had a big day against Tarleton State on ESPN by gathering 224 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns. The junior averaged 9.5 yards on 18 carries and led the team with three receptions for 53 yards. In the first quarter, the Houston native went the distance with a 68-yard rush and then hauled in a 37-yard touchdown reception to trim the Texan lead to seven in the fourth quarter. This game marks Pelrean's second game over 100 yards in the 2017 season, and first game with multiple scores. Basil Jackson, Tarleton State University, continued his dominant senior season as the linebacker from Arlington topped double-figure tackles for the sixth time this season with 15 to lead all defenders. Jackson made nine solo stops and 2.5 behind the line of scrimmage. His biggest play of the night came in the fourth quarter when Kingsville was driving into Tarleton territory trailing 20-31. Kingsville decided to go for it on fourth and two from the Tarleton 41-yard line, but Jackson put a stop to the drive with an eight-yard sack of QB Cade Dyal to give the ball back to Tarleton. That turnover on downs ultimately led to a field goal for Tarleton. Justin Jackson, Angelo State University, led the Ram defense with 12 total tackles and a 1.0 tackles for loss. The junior recorded eight solo tackles and is ranked in the top 10 in Division II in total tackles at 11.1 per game. Dominique Ramsey, Texas A&M University-Commerce, led the No. 10 Lions in tackles on the way to a 34-20 win over Angelo State. He had eight total stops and a key interception that sealed the victory. The Lions held the Rams 117 yards under their previous season average thanks to the strong defensive effort. The Rams were driving to cut the margin to one score before Ramsey made a leaping interception at the A&M-Commerce 1-yardline to prevent any Ram comeback efforts.
  • 4. Leo Marin, Western New Mexico, was solid on defense for the Mustangs as he posted 1.5 sacks and two tackles for loss, with his other half-tackle for loss resulting in a fourth down stop. He added five tackles, with one coming solo. Sergio Sroka, Tarleton State University, was money in the kicking game for the Texans Saturday night against Texas A&M-Kingsville. The senior from Miami was 2-for-2 on field goals, starting with a 43-yard kick in the second quarter to extend the Texans' lead to double digits at 17-7. His 19-yard field goal to start the scoring in the fourth quarter extended Tarleton's lead to 14 points at 34-20. Sroka was also a perfect 5-for-5 on extra points, giving him 11 of Tarleton's 41 total points for the contest. Connor Flanigan, Angelo State University, was stellar in the kicking game adding two more field goals to his season total. The sophomore recorded a 45 yard and 21 yard field goal to keep ASU within striking distance against Texas A&M- Commerce. The Austin native also averaged 62.2 yards per kick with three touch backs. Tristan Perry, Texas A&M University-Commerce, was a weapon at punter in the No. 10 Lions' 34-20 win over Angelo State, with two punts of 53 yards apiece on the way to a 44.7 yard punting average and a 43.0 yard net punt average. He pinned the Rams inside their own 20-yardline three times and the Rams only elected to return two punts for 12 total yards. Perry now ranks fourth in the LSC in punt average at 40.0 yards per punt. Bailey Giffen, UT Permian Basin, was a perfect 3-3 in field goal attempts this past weekend, connecting all three times in the second quarter of a 42-7 win over Quincy. He nailed a 55-yard attempt on the first play of the quarter, connected from 40 yards out on the next drive, and hit from 50 yards as time expired in the first half to give the Falcons a 23-7 halftime lead. Mitchell Henton, Midwestern State University, placed each of his two punts inside the 20-yard line while helping No. 5 Midwestern State improve to 6-0 with a 45-3 rout of West Texas A&M Saturday night at Memorial Stadium. The 6- 2, 225-pound senior averaged 40 yards on two punts including a long of 54 yards. Henton has accounted for five punts of 50-or-more yards over the last four weeks to bring his season average to 41 yards per punt. He ranks third in program history with a 38.92 yards per attempt average.
