2. Strengths
1. Firstly, I have a few good ideas in what I would like to create for the music video and how I would film
it. This is an advantage as when I come to planning my music video I will already have an Idea on
how I could film it.
2. Next, I already have some people who would be willing to feature in the music video, these people
have also shown interest in criticising the final video to help me improve so I can finish it to the best
possible standard.
3. To link to the previous point, I have good communication skills meaning I can interact with the
people helping out with the music video and give them precise instructions on different shots and
how I want them to stand for example.
4. In addition, I have got good time management skills which will help me keep on top of all the blogs
being posted and getting all the filming done in one day so I do not leave everything to the last
minute and getting all of my work complete for the deadline.
3. Weaknesses
1. Firstly, I am not too familiar with the editing software that I will be using when editing the
music video. This is because I found a new way to edit since I made my Prelim 30second Lip
Sync video. This means I have not had a formal opportunity to try it out which may cause a
problem when It comes to editing as I am not use to it. This also means it may take me longer
than expected to edit my music video.
2. Similarly, I am not too familiar with filming as the only real video I have filmed is the
30second Lip Sync video. This means when I go to film my real music video it may take me a
bit more time to film to get a range of shots and to make sure I am doing everything correctly
which again is a disadvantage.
3. Another weakness, is that sometimes I have a limit of creativity. This will effect the footage
that I film and how I edit the music video in a sense that I could maybe get one or two extra
shots of an obscure building and put it into my music video to really improve it. But at the
time I might of not though to do it.
4. Opportunity
1. I have a very good opportunity at this stage to watch some YouTube videos or ask
someone who had filmed and edited a lot of videos for some advice for the coursework.
An example of this is when the Year13s came and gave us some advice on how to approach
the coursework which was very helpful, so if I get some more advice I will feel more
confident when completing the coursework.
2. I can also do some general research on topics such as how to engage the audience in the
music video and other points on the brief to make my work as good as possible and get as
many marks as I can.
3. In addition, I could ask my family if there has been any interesting places that they have
been to which could be somewhere to film my music video to make my music video stand
out compared to other peoples.
5. Threats
1. Firstly, the weather is a huge threat as if I have planned to go out on a certain day and the
weather is not good then it will mean I can not film and will have to film on a later date.
This then effects the amount of time I have to film and edit the music video which would be
a smaller amount that what I would have been, this could cause the music video to be
finished at a lower standard than hoped.
2. Another threat is if a cast member drops out. If one of the people who have said they are
interested in helping me drop out then that means that I have to find a new person to fill in
the character. This could change the whole finish of the video as the original person may
have been really confident and give the video a confident vibe and if the newer person
does not have that personality it can change the tone of the video.
3. Illness is an additional threat. If I get ill or one of the cast members get ill then again filming
will be delayed which has a knock on effect of the editing being delayed as well.
