2. My feedback came from two sources, these were my teacher and fellow students. My teachers gave me constructive criticism on the editing process. They picked up any errors that I made and helped me to find a solution. My student feedback came from my media classmates, they commented on different shots and the video in general. From my audience feedback I came to the realisation that my music video uses two different sizes of screen, these are wide screen and standard. This isn’t obvious on the first watch however, once you have watched the video several times you realise the mistake. If I was to re-film this video then I would look into making the screens all the same size. Standard screen to wide screen I decided not to change the screen size as more of my footage was in widescreen than standard and I would struggle to sort this out.
3. Another piece of feedback that I got was that my male casting seemed very awkward when it came to filming. I realised that when he was made to lip sync he hardly opened his mouth. This became quite frustrating whilst I was filming and as people kept picking up on it I thought it became a downer on my music video, however, it’s not a happy song so I think it kind of works.
4. Another piece of feedback that I got was that my castings changed their facial expression too early, this mean’t that I had to make early cuts and slow down some of my filming to fill up the song. This created a lot of downfalls for my video but with my audience feedback I was able to overcome these. Although this left me in a bad situation I found that I could fill up some time by repeating some footage, at first I added too much footage in but now I think the repetition of some footage works well.
5. Although there are negatives I did receive some positives. One of these was my female casting, I got some great feedback from her saying she was very professional and gave a sense of happiness to the video. Throughout the video my female did a good job to not look as if she was on the camera, she did not come across as awkward and created a very good vibe in the vide that has been well picked up on.
6. From my feedback I learned that when filming I need to have an addition 3 seconds before and after my filming starts, this is so I have extra footage to play around with and I will not limit myself to a small amount of footage. I also learned to cast better, and use someone that will not be shy to stand in front of a camera and sing. This would have made my video much better if it was less awkward and more upbeat. If I was to film the video again I would bare this all in mind to ensure that I have a music video of a high standard.
