1. What is your age?
This was the first question on my survey, and I don’t think this would help me when creating my
video, but it was helpful as this showed me who was completing my survey so that I knew their
age and also this made the information I received more relevant because the audience that I am
aiming for with my video is teenagers, which was the age who did the survey the most.
2. How many locations would you expect to see
in the video?
Through asking this question, it is clear that the people that completed my survey would like to
see around 2 to 4 locations in my video, which I think is conventional of a music video. This
would keep the video interesting as it has some changes throughout, but wouldn’t look like it is
crammed together because there wouldn’t be too many.
3. Is seeing the artist in the video important to
you?
It is easy to see from asking this question that people enjoy seeing the artist appear in the video,
and this was one thing that I was almost certain was going to happen in my video and this
answer has finalised my decision.
4. Do you think the video should be in colour or
black and white after listening to the song?
I asked this question in my survey because I think that having input from other people is
important as they may understand the song in different ways to me so therefore would alter
how they would vision the meaning in their heads. Not many people said that they would like to
see the video fully in colour, which is what I expected because the song is about loneliness and
not fitting in, so has a sad feeling to it.
5. Because of the lyrics and the meaning of the
song, the answer I got from this was what I
expected. I knew that the song was quite slow
and if I used fast editing it wouldn’t work
because the paces wouldn’t match. In my video, I
think I will use slow editing the most but I will
also use fast editing in parts as it gets faster in
places like the chorus.
6. A range of costumes in a
music video is conventional
and this was the answer
that I thought I would get,
as this is what happens in
most music videos.
