a digipak is a type of packaging for cd or dvds typically made from gate folded (opens like a book) cardboard with a
internal plastic holder for 1 or more disc

typically 14cm by 14cm to 6 mm
-what are the different styles?
the most common is a 4 panel that opens like a book. There is also 6 panel digipak which are also popular because
they provide a larger canvas for art work and text information, 8 and 10 panels are also available.
-what information/text is included in a digipak?
the information will be about the tracks, artists, record company and extra information.
-what is featured/highlighted on the front? The back? The inside?
The inside of the digipak is used for information and extra bits to do with the artist, song and album, The inside is normally
more subtle than the inside. The front cover will have the album title and a picture maybe the band/artist. The back cover will
have the track listings record label, name of the producer, the bands website details and a copy right notice lastly the barcode.

in to the plastic folder on the inside.
-what is conventional or expected about the graphics or photography?
they have to be accurate to the genre of the group. It has to make sense in what it is about. It has to be clear and
understandable so people will be interested.
-is the artist featured? Why or why not? How?
it depends on the genre the artist chooses to do and if they are very popular. A reason why the would be featured is
people will identify the product and buy there music. A reason why not is that they sometimes they don't need it if
they are popular enough and if the artist is small it might be better to not have it.
-is there a 'brand' that is established that in consistent with the artist in their other promotional material?
An artist needs to know what there unique brand and identity is in order to connect through there music and help them to
engage with there fans. There whole brand has to be a story to make people engage and feel the have a personal relation
ship with the artists.
