First Day of Class
In the words of Harry Wong, "The first day of class is the most important day of the school year".
Since this day is so important I will have had to prepare a few things before the day actually starts. I
will have assigned seats in my classroom before the day starts, and I will have written my bell work
activity for the class before they arrive. Finally, I will have all the materials I need for that day
within reach, so I am prepared for transitions.
Class length – 8:40– 9:34
Pre class time– 8:15 – 8:40
I will stand outside my classroom looking for my students.
When I see my students I will great them, introduce myself as Mr. Zaruba, their 8th grade science
teacher, and tell them to find their seat and read the board.
Greeting the children at the door starts them off with a comfortable first day, and allows me to set
the expectation of getting to work right away.
Beginning activity – 8:40 – 8:55
Bell work will be listed on the board for them to complete.
The bell work for the first day will be a questionnaire for the students to fill out. The activity will
provide me with crucial information about my students' interests and goals.
I will collect the bell work after 7 minutes and begin to go over my expectations in the class.
My expectations will be presented in a fun music themed PowerPoint that will not take me longer
than 8 minutes max.
At the end of the PowerPoint, I will have my students repeat the expectations back to me.

The next day I nearly skipped to school. I was in such a good mood that I couldn't help but to smile.
I don't know what it is about Shay, but I couldn't get him out of my head. He was a bad boy that was
probably a terrible influence but I couldn't help but hope that he would show up to class.
Copper and I walked to school because we missed the bus and couldn't get another ride. I planned

My moment of self discovery was a coincidence. It was August 13th and it occurred right after my
shift was over in Burger King. It started when I was going to Liberty bell gas station to hang out
with my friends Julia and Deanne. They were two liberty bell regulars because they always bought
cigarettes or "loosies" from liberty and they were pretty hard to miss. Julia was pale and had green

sometimes, wandering critique. Albeit, the historical reference Platizky uses on how Poe
"ambiguously capitalizes on psychological fear and historical reality" (p. 206), is the ultimate
essence of the article which sets a novice reader on the right path to understanding the story.
Platizky's use of historical facts and sources leads me to believe this article could help provoke a
logical thought process for anyone to understand the fascination, and or fear, of being buried alive
and the symbols used within the story.
Platizky's article jumps from point to point with no clear direction. The order of Platizky transition s
could be more concise; instead of jumping from Poe's earlier work, to tidbits of history, to the
symbolism of points in the story, back to more historical references, and finally a weak conclusion
that leaves readers wanting closure. This fact is not forthcoming of an adequate flow to follow. The
flow is comparative to a Quentin Tarantino film jumping back and forth in the time line of the plot.
Another aspect where Platizky's article lacks clear direction is through the explanation of the story's
symbols and how they are historically tied. The statement of how "the catacombs could be symbolic
due to Christian history and their nitrous decay" would serve readers best, not to elaborate on the

bell, which represent how we tend to make snap judgments on people, and how we all strive for

Bio: Martin Wittfooth
Martin Wittfooth born in 1981 in Toronto, Canada. Although he spent most of his childhood in
Finland before moving back to Canada as a teenager and later in his mid–twenties moving to New
York. In a recent, WOWxWOW, interview Martin expresses that he drew his inspiration for his
artistic style from Northern European like Arnold Bocklin and Akseli Gallen–kallela, Anders Zorn,
and Jon Bauer. Furthermore, he attended Sherdian College for his BAA and his MFA in York School
of Visual Art.
The dystopian and post–human themes are majorly present in Wittfooth work; While, marrying the
realistic aspect of animals and nature. Wittfooth's work invoke a deep regret for the contemporary
relation of humans with nature. Yet, proposing a hopeful outlook with recent pieces that have a great
feeling of renaissance toward the old ways of Shamanism. All in all, Wittfooth's art entices the
viewer to evaluate where they stand on the positive or negative impact on nature and how to
reconciled the bond long lost between humans and Nature.
THE INCANTATION Standing at 75"x69", the oil and gold leaf on canvas painting makes a huge
impact on any gallery it resides leaving viewers both amazed and confused. At first glance the
painting presents just an elephant head atop a bouquet of flowers; which, while elegantly painted
leaves one with no sense of what he artist is trying to bring across. The painting has unusual lighting

The Night
It was weird, but the cats seemed to have understood me as they both began to turn slowly around
and sulk away from the school. Heading back towards wherever they had originally come from. As I
watched them gradually leave a third one shot out of the bushes that flanked the school's central
staircase and it quickly joined the others. I then continued on watching them for a long moment
wishing I could go with them. But alas, I let out a sigh and dragged my sorry butt inside. After only

That was out of the question. Yeah, making it to my classes today on time was certainly going to be
a hard row to hoe. So, by the time the clock had struck 8:05 a.m. I was already late for my first real
class, Physics with Mr. McLaren. By the time I had found which room it was that I needed to report
to all the hallways were nearly deserted. Completely void of other students and had been so for at
least the last couple of minutes. So, I knew already that I would be walking into physics with all
eyes on me, an unsettling feeling to say the least. After finding the place, the door to the room was
still open, so I did my best to just nonchalantly walk in as surreptitiously as I could as I quickly
gazed over the room for an open seat. I had spotted one still abandoned in the far recesses of the
room tucked away underneath a poster of the periodic table that hung on the wall slightly crooked. I
took my seat, careful to keep my head down, not wanting to look up and see everyone staring at me.
But after a long moment of silence, I force myself to pick up my head and take a look around. Mr.
McLaren... well, the thirty somethingish man who I had assumed was Mr. McLaren was standing at
the front of the room with his arms crossed while looking directly at me. "And you are?" he asked
with a touch of condescension to his voice while giving a little head shake that only a gay man or

Nerds Essay
I can barely hear myself think over the constant roaring of the student body as we pile into the
lunchroom. I take a glance around the room as I make my way towards a table in the back, seeing
everyone else make their way towards their usual tables as well. As cliché as it seems, most people
sit with those who are like them – the popular girls sit together and talk about homecoming or boys,
the football players sit side by side talking about their upcoming game, and the band kids huddle
around their sheet music, using their lunch break as practice.
However, I affiliate with none of those cliques. Instead, I sit with those who are typically called the
"nerds" or "geeks" of the school. There are only guys on the table, except for me. Ordinarily, we talk
about television shows or our favorite video games. Today, it is just a typical day with every table

I am the first to arrive to my class, and I am instantly hit with a strong chemical odor. Scrunching
my nose up in disgust, I take my seat at the front of the class. Soon, other students start arriving, and
they complain about the smell. Our history teacher, a plump middle–aged woman we call Mrs. B,
enters the room right before the bell rings to signal the start of class and apologizes for the smell,
stating that someone in her previous class had vomited, and the janitor had to clean the area because
of that.

It is a science of behavior in which it talks about the perspective in which one's behavior is
explained in such a way it responds to the things that you do. The behavior is what you are trained in
a long run of life. People behavior is a result of their interaction with the environment, forcing of
certain things that you have to do by your parents during your childhood days. It is basically training
a person to look for things when they get a hint. People are rewarded or punished when they do
achieve what they have been asked to. This influence person behavior in which it responds to what
they are asked to. It can be through training or enforcing certain things on a person to follow or that
they are supposed to do. People get molded in such a way that they respond to certain ways based on
their feedback. Animals and human gain knowledge easily and experiments on animals determine
human behavior a lot. Repeated experiments on animals and on human make them expert in
understanding what they have to do when some signal is given or when they are asked to do
anything.
Example: When we keep rat in a cage and we feed him only after ringing a bell for some days, you
will realize that whenever the bell rings the rat starts looking for a food in the cage. This shows that
the rat has adapted and mastered in the bell thing. Whenever the rat will hear bell rat will look for
food in the cage.
Another example is that when you feed dog you can see salivation
