My First Day Of Class
First Day of Class
In the words of Harry Wong, "The first day of class is the most important day of the school year".
Since this day is so important I will have had to prepare a few things before the day actually starts. I
will have assigned seats in my classroom before the day starts, and I will have written my bell work
activity for the class before they arrive. Finally, I will have all the materials I need for that day
within reach, so I am prepared for transitions.
Class length – 8:40– 9:34
Pre class time– 8:15 – 8:40
I will stand outside my classroom looking for my students.
When I see my students I will great them, introduce myself as Mr. Zaruba, their 8th grade science
teacher, and tell them to find their seat and read the board.
Greeting the children at the door starts them off with a comfortable first day, and allows me to set
the expectation of getting to work right away.
Beginning activity – 8:40 – 8:55
Bell work will be listed on the board for them to complete.
The bell work for the first day will be a questionnaire for the students to fill out. The activity will
provide me with crucial information about my students' interests and goals.
I will collect the bell work after 7 minutes and begin to go over my expectations in the class.
My expectations will be presented in a fun music themed PowerPoint that will not take me longer
than 8 minutes max.
At the end of the PowerPoint, I will have my students repeat the expectations back to me.
Finally I

Case Analysis
MICROSOFT ZUNE
As Microsoft ventures into new markets, the Zune will definitely have an uphill battle in order to
establish a significant market position. The portable media player industry is one which is
dominated by iPod 's monopoly, and saturated with second rate competitors; such as th ironically
names iRiver, and Toshiba 's Gigabeat. All have been struggling to attain any market share under
Apple 's prevailing shadow.
Microsoft 's major problem in this market is the dominance of the apple brand which has become
synonymous with portable music entertainment. The company will need to capture a considerable
market share in order for consumers to recognize the media player as purchase worthy. Already
having been adopted by innovators ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is now impossible to change the product design, qualities, and software and any decrease in retail
price may dilute brand equity and reflect poorly on quality. Therefore, the company should rely on
better positioning, obtaining a continuously understand customer needs and deliver satisfaction.
A successful market vision will require Microsoft to boost marketing efforts as a strategy to increase
market share. Marketing goals must focus on creating a strong connection between the brand name
(Microsoft), product name ( Zune ) and aligning them with concrete brand values association. This
can be accomplished by accentuating the improved and beneficial features which act as the
foundation for Microsoft 's differentiation strategy. Considering Microsoft spent approximately
$944.9 million on US advertising alone (Appendix 1), the company is in reasonable position to
implement advertising which stresses reliability, performance, and unique design while associating
these values to the brands establish equity.
BELL CANADA
Although Bell Canada enjoys a long history of being a market share leader, it has faced many
challenges in the past decade which has inevitably weakened its position. Firstly, the company is
facing both internal and external problems which must be recognized and resolved. The company
seems to be unable to properly sustain operations after having diversified its product offerings

Personal Narrative: My All City Orchestra Group
Click, click, THUD, RING! The rusty old halls off Thorogood rung out with the noises of doors
shutting, the clitter clatter of high heels across the slippery brown tiled floors, bells ringing leaving
an echo through the halls, almost like a symphony. The conductor, Dr.Bell had just walked through
the doorway. "WELCOME TO WEEK 27 OF SCHOOL." she said with a loud booming voice that
rang off of every colorful painted cinder block wall. "Today is the day we have been training for..."
The room got silent and by the looks of my classmates they were as querulous and appalled as I.
"Today will be the day I determine my All City orchestra group" A gasp fell across the classroom.
Whispers and murmurs of, "I hope she chooses me!" and, "I've always dreamed of performing on
stage, will this be my chance to?" spread about in moments until, "SILENT! ... Show more content

was nearing the end of the list I heard my name as clear as day, "And Kate." I slowly arose and

This source is written by Erik Kain, a well–known writer on all things video games. He talks about
the link between violent video games and gun violence and he compares the United States to other
countries in terms of gun violence caused by violent video games. Kain may be slightly biased as
video games are what his job revolves around, but he does use proven statistics and data to back up
his claims. The intended audience are those who believe that violent video games are a cause of gun
violence. I really like this source as it goes rather in–depth about the link between violent video
games and gun violence and it also provides sources that help to back up its claims. I found this

This source is written by Ryan Jaslow who is a Psychobiology graduate from Binghamton

are reacting to the surge of gun violence in America. Jaslow is not biased one way or the other, he
provides information on the issue, talks about both sides, and he says that there is a complex link
between the two and that more research must be done before any conclusions are made. The
intended audience are those that are interested in the issue. I like this source as it provides the details

Graduation Speech: Listen Carefully Essay
Listen carefully, Class of '2012, for the sounds you hear tonight will last a lifetime. Store them up
and save them in your hearts, for they are priceless. Each whisper, each tick of the clock is a
reminder of something you've gained here. Pay attention, so when you hear them later in life you
will remember.
When you hear a bell ring, remember our first day of school, back in September of 2008. The
coolness of the desks chilled our sun–tanned skin as we sat timidly in our seats, quietly absorbing
the shrill sound of our first high school bell as it rang at 7:30 in the morning. As much as our eyelids
wanted to sink into a sweet abyss, fear crept through our bones as we eyed the monstrous seniors
sitting nearby. For many of us, they may ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once out of the flow of traffic, it took an entire passing period to merge back to the right side of the
hall and into the correct lane of traffic. As humiliating as this moment may have been, it taught us to
do things right and not take short cuts because they might take longer than the correct way.
As a cheer rings out, think back to play–off football games in the frigid winter air. Remember
clinging frantically to a cup of lukewarm hot chocolate only to have it stolen from you by that big
guy in fourth period biology that you only talked to once. Listen once more to the noisemakers in
your hands as you slammed them together in hopes it would bring the ball back to the correct side of
field. Feel again the sensation of being squashed between other celebrating students as the clock
ticked away the final seconds, displaying the winning score. Remember the pride you felt and hold it
close, for it is a part of you.
And when you hear the clock tick, remember all the things we have accomplished at Sunny, for they
far outnumber the seconds that have elapsed while we were here. We are the class of 1999. The
graduating seniors of Sunny High. In our midst I see the first female American president. I see a
professional baseball player and a renowned humanitarian. There is a Hollywood actress and a

College Admissions Essay
There was a warm breeze that Friday in September when I packed my two large bags, kissed my
family and friends good–bye, and left my home. Thus the greatest adventure of my life was begun.
On my first day of studying in France, I woke up early and took a quasi–shower, which consisted of
sprinkling myself with water for hours until all the soap finally drained out of my hair. My dressing
procedures were followed by a silent breakfast that consisted of some bitter–tasting, dark liquid and
a hard, bread–like substance. The bread I ate dry, for fear of the dark scary–looking pot of jam. I
packed my books and headed off for class.
As soon as I left my street, a man on a bike stared at me as he passed. "Stupid American," he ...

I waited patiently again for the green man. Several students passed me, and they all said, "Does she
not know how to cross the street? Maybe she needs someone to hold her hand."
When I got through the stone wall that surrounds my city, there was a small bar, where men sat
outside drinking hard liquor at 8:00 in the morning. They all stared at me as I passed and thought
seriously about surrounding me and harassing me until I screamed for help. I walked carefully down
the narrow sidewalk of the street, until I passed a man walking the opposite way. He tried to run me
off the sidewalk and scowled at me just for being in his way. He thought, "I wish these Americans
would learn how to walk." Not long after that, there was a strange and straggly looking man in my
path. He tried to stop me by asking me a question, but I kept walking. I didn't understand the
question because he said it in French, but I'm pretty sure he was just trying to torture and embarrass
me.
When I passed the cafe just outside of my school, there were a number of beautiful people drinking
their morning coffees. They all stared at me in disgust as I passed, thinking, "if we don't get these
ugly Americans out of our country soon . . ."
Finally, I arrived at the little school where I would be taking classes. I pried open the enormous
wooden door and ran inside before I could be attacked

The Golden Age: Is It in the Past or in the Future?
"The golden age is before us, not behind us." These words, from William Shakespeare, depict to
people the possibility of reaching a higher echelon than ever before in comfort and command of the
world. They demonstrate the result of forward thinking and the detriments to nostalgia. They are
especially relevant to the current situation of the world's latest and greatest technology – the internet.
The internet is merely a network of computers, but to modern humans, it accomplishes much more
than just communication. It is a workplace, an entertainment center, and a news repository all at the
same time. Rooster Teeth Productions, a company which has garnered billions of views, began by
producing videos for the internet. Rooster Teeth recently moved into a new, 20,000 square foot
office space in Austin, and now employs 38 people. It's a long way to come for a company that
started out with no profit model, no office, and only a handful of passionate employees. (Rigney 3)
Clearly, this only decades–old invention has had the most profound impact on human life since
penicillin, but already people want to abuse the internet's power for personal gain. Amoral Internet
Service Providers such as Comcast and Time Warner have and likely will continue to restrict the
internet for monetary or otherwise self–preserving gains. The most recent threat to the internet's
capabilities is the United States Federal Communications Commission's Chairman Tom Wheeler's
alleged proposal that will

The next day I nearly skipped to school. I was in such a good mood that I couldn't help but to smile.
I don't know what it is about Shay, but I couldn't get him out of my head. He was a bad boy that was
probably a terrible influence but I couldn't help but hope that he would show up to class.
Copper and I walked to school because we missed the bus and couldn't get another ride. I planned
on having Shay drive me home and Copper was going to sleepover at his friend's house so we didn't
butt heads.
When I got into home room I took my normal seat in the back corner and Darcy sat in Shay's seat to
talk to me before class started. We were talking until the tardy bell went off. She knew that was her
queue to go back to her seat, but no one walked in right as the bell went off like normal. I looked
around and so did everyone else. The kid a few seats up turned around and whispered something
about living another day and I just glared at him.
The pack walked in and because they are just that cool, they didn't get any tardy notes. They all sat
down in their normal seat. I was looking down at my notebook because I didn't want it to seem like I
was waiting for them to all come. A few second went by and Shay didn't sit down so I looked up and
realized that Shay nor Axel were there. I tapped on Emmett's shoulder and asked him where they
were, but he just shrugged and turned away.
Halfway through class I looked up from my work again as they both walked in. They were both

For Whom The Bell Tolls Essay example
There are many themes that can be associated with the novel, For Whom the Bell Tolls. The story
has love, hate, rivalry, duty, war, and several more topics of concern. However, war plays the most
important role among all of the possible themes. There is war all around the characters, but it is not
limited to battles or physical wars. Wars appear between ideologies, guerrilla band members, beliefs,
inner emotions, and decisions. In For Whom the Bell Tolls, Hemingway shows, through war, an
example of a ¡°good¡± man.
After joining Pablo, Robert Jordan constantly is at odds with Pablo. The two are very different from
each other in tactics and attitudes. The differences show how Robert Jordan has the leadership

All through the course of the story, Pablo is insecure, deceitful, disloyal, and unsteady, while Robert
Jordan remains competent, honest, and steady. Robert Jordan shows the qualities of what a ¡°good¡±
man should be.
Through the love affair between Robert Jordan and Maria, Robert Jordan¡¯s sense of duty and
responsibility towards his commitment to oppose the fascists becomes apparent. The love between
Maria and Robert Jordan becomes stronger as they make love and spend time with each other. They
feel as though they were a part of each other; together, they feel as one. Robert Jordan mentions that
she has become a reason for him to want to live. He believes that death during the mission would be
in vain because he would be losing Maria who is the most valuable thing in his life. However, he
continues to follow the plan because it is his duty. Rather than selfishly thinking of what he wanted
for himself, he acted upon his commitment to the Republic against the fascists.
At the point where Robert Jordan really mattered, he proved that he was a good man. Though he is
angry, frustrated, and in anguish, he realized that he had succeed in his mission. He had to overcome
strong emotions after losing some of his equipment to Pablo and thinking about losing Maria. In the
morning of the attack, Robert says, ¡°But the pain,¡± (p.378). Later

It was different from her own; slightly more elaborate in design and a deeper shade of red. She
recognized the campus' middle school uniform. Hurriedly, she corrected her language. "Thank you,
senpai!" She bowed again, deeper this time. The girl waved it off and bent down to pick up the

Essay On Moment Of Self Discovery
My moment of self discovery was a coincidence. It was August 13th and it occurred right after my
shift was over in Burger King. It started when I was going to Liberty bell gas station to hang out
with my friends Julia and Deanne. They were two liberty bell regulars because they always bought
cigarettes or "loosies" from liberty and they were pretty hard to miss. Julia was pale and had green
hair but a green that resembled the statue of liberty. I met her through Deanne around January of
2017 and I liked how easy going she was. Deanne, on the other hand, was a brunette with a blonde
highlight in the front of her hair. I met Deanne through her ex–boyfriend Aj, who was also a close
friend. Deanne was from the suburbs and she moved to Philadelphia in August of 2016. I resided in
philadelphia for 8 years and I hated how everyone is connected to each other there. I did quite a
good job removing my ties from people I didn't want to be connected to. The day I had my moment
of self discovery I ran into a few people I cut ties with. When I met up with Deanne and Julia, I seen
an old friend Jessica and her cousin at Liberty bell. I was friends with her in 5th grade but I had to
stop being her friend because we were going opposite directions in life. Jessica came up to me and
said," Moe are you down to smoke with us". I went over to deanne and julia and I asked " you down
to do it". Deanne replied " yea we're down". We walked with Jessica and her cousin to an alleyway.

My Experience At Milpitas High School
It was just like any other day. The cool, dry, air acted as a reminder that fall is just around the corner
and summer won't be around for long. Large crowds shuffled around non–stop and their voices
filled the air. Being part of the crowd, I walked sluggishly towards my destination, just like
everyone else. Everyone in the crowd had a different destination and every destination offered
something different. As of right now, a good day lies ahead. Ten minutes before the morning bell
rang, I arrived at my first period classroom. Being a student at Milpitas High School, I am just like
most of you sitting in the room right now, and just like most of you, I'm still trying to get used to the
fact that summer is history. After being here for about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

my teacher gave the door several more yanks. When the door remained stubborn, she called security

many things were shooting through my mind. Part of me thought, "Oh, well this is great. What I am
supposed to do now? I technically don't have my backpack anymore because it's now stuck inside
the classroom. Let's see, how many classes would I fail if I don't have my bag. Maybe I'll only fail a
few. Actually, never mind, I'll fail all of them."
Another part of me thought, "Man, talk about timing. I don't think I was ever this lucky before."
Two minutes later, a tough–looking security man came to the rescue. He immediately gave the door
a hard tug only to find out that the door had no intentions to move. The door simply refused to
budge. After several more pulls, the security man gave up, looked at us, and said, "We're moving
you guys to another classroom."
With no other choice left, our whole class took an early morning hike to the other side of the school
to get to a vacant classroom and the rest of the first period proceeded slowly. Periodically, I glanced
at the clock and then at the door, hoping that someone come into the classroom with some good
news. That never happened. As I pondered about whether or not I would have the chance to grab my

The house was cozy, but surprisingly spacious, with only one story. It had large windows that
painted a lovely picture of the beach outside. Snape had disappeared, and Draco was still standing
nervously by a bookshelf, while Harry had moved over to the window. Seeing as Draco was uneasy
about their arrangements, Remus decided to attempt passivity towards the proud boy. Remus walked

Draco looked startled at the lack of malice, but nodded and smiled shyly, acting quite unlike

chasing me I knew I shouldn't have done that in school. It all started on a normal peaceful day, I
woke up, finished what I had to do and went to school. Then a random kid came up to me and said
"well well well I dare you to throw a rock at that guy over there for 10 bucks", I gracefully accept
that offer and did what he told me to, after I threw the rock ,the random kid ran away as fast as he
could, mad at what he had down but not realizing that a pair of red eyes were looking at my
direction , oh wait it is looking at me, horrified I ran into the school and went in the lunchroom ,
then class begins during every class I went to I felt paranoid

Revelation Narrative
Revelation By : Hunter Newell I had only been in school for a mere few hours, but the reality had
already started to settle in. My first four hours of the day were nothing to stress about, they were as
easy as sinking a layup, but as the day went on, my eyes got heavier and the classes only got harder.
I thought after listening to my first four teachers talk, that things were going to be as easy as last
year, I thought I wouldn't have to stress, and it would be a cakewalk once again, I thought that I
wouldn't have to study, just as I had done last school year. That all changed when I walked through
the door of my fifth hour class. It was that moment that I realized that this school year was going to
be nothing like the last, it would not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When I finally got home I ignored my mom's requests of "How was your day?" and immediately
stormed upstairs to my best friend, also know as my bed. As I layed there I slowly started to recover
from the traumatizing events that had occurred earlier in the day. I started to realize that maybe such
a challenging course was not such a bad thing. After all I would be getting a head start on my
college credits. Instead of moping about how hard the class was going to be, I decided that I would
accept the challenge that was being thrown at me and do my best to succeed. I wish I could say that
I had completely dedicated to success in AP History, but that would be a lie, however I can proudly
say that I did not quit, I accepted the

I looked at the school clock; it read 2:59. I was chanted in my head come on come on. For a whole
minute I couldn't hear anything the teacher said, just the ticking of the clock. And there it was. Ding!
Ding! Ding! The school bells rang, I quickly got out of my chair and nearly knocked everyone in my
path. Everyone ran, it was thanksgiving eve! Everybody can't wait to go home and prepare a feast.
This year I get to bring 3 of my friends. Peter, John and Jimmy. Peter is the smallest and always
carries his dog, pip, wherever he goes. John is the quiet one, and is amused by everything, and
finally Jimmy, Jimmy is something else. He is loud, dumb, and fat, he's my friend because I like to
make people feel welcomed. I also tell him he needs to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So I'm walking across the field to enter the woods until I saw Peter, John and jimmy. " where's your
father, why do you have that axe, are you getting the turkey" jimmy rambled. " yep this year I get to
be the man of the house and get the turkey" I said to jimmy. " can I go with you " Peter asked. " no
pip will bark and I'll lose my turkey" I answered. " good point he replied. " so I'll see you guys with
that turkey in no time" I proclaimed. So I walked into the woods and waited patiently. I waited a
little longer but no sign of a turkey. It seems like I've been out here for days. Then all of a sudden I
hear something ruffling through the woods. I spot it with my tired eyes, it's a huge Tom. I get in
position, and then in a flash I run after just feet away from getting it. The thought running trough my
head were on that turkey, and then all of a sudden, I hit the ground hard, I tripped over a log. Looked
up and instead of me chasing the turkey, the turkey was chasing me. I got up so quick and ran as fast
as I could, I could see the field leading to the house, but seemed like it was thousand miles away, I
finally reach the field. But there was Peter,

Refletorical Analysis Of Admira Admiral Mcraven's Speech
In the speech that I just watched Admiral McRaven first talked about the importance of making my
bed in the morning. His lesson behind making my bed in the morning stood for the little things. I
believe what he said because I believe the little things do add up. The little things will inspire me to
do bigger things and then those things will inspire me to do even bigger things and before I know it I
will be doing huge things that will affect the whole world. During the speech Admiral McRaven
talked about the importance of having trustworthy people to help you row your boat. This can help
me in the real world because I know I can't do most things on my own. This concept teaches me to
be humble and to realize that it is okay to ask for help.
In the speech ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In life there are going to be people who try to push you around but the trick is to not let them and to
stand your ground. If you cower down in front of them then the sharks will eat you alive but if you
just stand your ground and act like you're an equal they will treat you as such. I believe people treat
you the way you let them treat you. If you let people walk all over you then they're going to walk all
over you, but if you stand up to them and show them they can't get away with pushing you around
they won't walk all over you.
In Admiral McRaven's speech he talks about being your best in your darkest moment. I think that is
very important. I think it shows really great character when you're your best in your darkest
moment. If you're great in your darkest moments you'll be that much greater in your best moments.
It is super important to show good character in your darkest moment because it shows the world that
it cannot break you. It shows that you have something different that is not of this world. I think that
when you're in your darkest moment a breakthrough is about to happen you just have to persevere
through the bad stuff

The Cask Of Amontillado By Edgar Alan Poe
In Platizky's (1999) article on the Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Alan Poe is choppy and,
sometimes, wandering critique. Albeit, the historical reference Platizky uses on how Poe
"ambiguously capitalizes on psychological fear and historical reality" (p. 206), is the ultimate
essence of the article which sets a novice reader on the right path to understanding the story.
Platizky's use of historical facts and sources leads me to believe this article could help provoke a
logical thought process for anyone to understand the fascination, and or fear, of being buried alive
and the symbols used within the story.
Platizky's article jumps from point to point with no clear direction. The order of Platizky transition s
could be more concise; instead of jumping from Poe's earlier work, to tidbits of history, to the
symbolism of points in the story, back to more historical references, and finally a weak conclusion
that leaves readers wanting closure. This fact is not forthcoming of an adequate flow to follow. The
flow is comparative to a Quentin Tarantino film jumping back and forth in the time line of the plot.
Another aspect where Platizky's article lacks clear direction is through the explanation of the story's
symbols and how they are historically tied. The statement of how "the catacombs could be symbolic
due to Christian history and their nitrous decay" would serve readers best, not to elaborate on the
catacombs. In which, damp nitre filled vaults lead Montressor to ask Fortunato

How Is Snowball Into A Mountain Of Trouble?
It's funny how the smallest of comments can snowball into a mountain of trouble. I guess it's the
silence that really hurts the situation, beating it into a pulp of what it used to be. I have very few
friends, and that can sometimes come in handy or hurt me in unimaginable ways. Now I know that
I've said some things I shouldn't have said before, but it's usually stayed the small incident it is.
There has only been one time in my life where I have been in some deep trouble due to saying
something I shouldn't have said. It all started in science class. I was intent on finishing my work,
like most other kids rushing to beat the bell. My friend, Robert, was sitting next to me. Being a
genius, he had already finished all of his work. He ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The class stopped their intense working and stared at me. I felt my cheeks start to burn as they all
looked at me. The teacher didn't notice my scream but did notice the absence of pencils scratching
against paper. He told everyone to get back to work, so they did. I looked to my right to apologize to
Robert, but he started getting up to leave because of the bell. I felt truly terrible. I hadn't meant what
I said and shouldn't have said it, but I still thought the whole thing would blow over in a matter of a
few minutes. I couldn't have been more incorrect. The next class was a bore, as usual. I wasn't really
thinking about Robert and what I had said until I felt a poke from behind. I heard a small hissing
noise. "Psst," the mysterious entity said. I turned around to see that it was one of my worst enemies,
Dylan. "Hello, Dylan," I hissed to him not unlike Jerry Seinfeld encountering Newman. "Hello,
Fonseca," he responded in the same manner. "I heard that you were bad–mouthing Robert, like the
coward you are. I'm pretty sure I saw him taking an alternate path to class, to avoid you." Oh man, I
thought. This isn't going to end well. "Just stay away from me, Dylan," I told him. He sat back in his
chair, having accomplished his mission. "Your grave," he said. That period was the hardest I've ever
had to stand. As soon as the bell rang, I got up and sprinted to my third class. Neither Robert nor
Dylan were in this

College Narrative
It was roughly five fifteen in the morning when the sun began to crest its golden crown over the
awakening Hudson River and the far off New Jersey Palisades. A starless night sky seemed
deliberately transformed with pink, orange, purple and red gauzy stripes, casting a warm wash over
the sleeping earth. I gazed skyward as I stood near the medieval bell tower at the Cloisters, and my
eyes reflected the awe–inspiring beauty. That dawn was one of many, when I found myself tramping
deliberately up the forested hills of Fort Tryon Park. As I stood at the summit, I inhaled the sanctity
of my surroundings and felt my soul being cleansed by the peaceful soundscape. Gazing at the vast
canvas that was the sky, the predictable chimes of the church bells ... Show more content on

At the Wall Street stop, I pried myself out of the subway car, shoving through the hoards of people
queuing at the turnstiles. Arriving at World Financial Center, I passed through security and rode the

Thank You All For Taking The Time At Come Tonight
Thank you all for taking the time to come tonight. Before we start I would like you all to use half of
your notes page to write down one word that describes how you have been feeling lately. You may
accompany this with a picture if you wish.
Now put those to the side, as we will need them a little later on.
We are going to start today's PD a little differently. I want you all to have a go at the colouring
sheets that are in front of you. We are going to just do this for 5minutes. During this time I want you
to stay as quiet as you can and let your mind wander.
–Ring a bell to regain attention (wait until bell has completely stopped before speaking)–
Ok, it is now time to get the word/drawing that you wrote at the beginning of the session and in the
other half repeat the same thing. Write a word describing how you feel and once again you may
draw a picture as well.
Has anyone's responses changed in the last 5minutes?
–allow for discussion–
As teachers, do you think that those 5minutes would change the behaviours that you see in your
classroom when your students come into the classroom?

Jack The Ripper: The Supernatural In Victorian England
The time of the Victorians marked the start of the supernatural, which very importantly happened
between 1750 to 1950. A main factor which caused the Victorians to believe in so much about the
super natural was down to a big part to play in religion. Education was also another big part to play;
Education was becoming more and more common in Victorian England at this time. The Victorians
were very into Supernatural things, this meant they were totally thrilled by it! Just like today not
everyone might not of such believed in the supernatural but it was a lot of fun to think about it and
for some people pretend! Furthermore people were said to say it much easier to see ghosts in low

I was being paranoid. they grew louder fast, and more voices started talking at once. I was quite
panicky, worried and scared at this point. I scrambled out of bed; I was going to tackle this as it

heard some of the voices starting to laugh, and I distinctly remember them laughing in a very
mocking manner, taunting and mocking me for something, but I didn't not know what! When I

Telus Corporation : Capital Structure Management
Telus Corporation: Capital Structure Management (Case Study)
Introduction
Telus appeared in the late 1990's by the merger of Alberta–based Telus and BC Telecom in an
environment of significant changes for the incumbent carriers who had previously enjoyed a
monopolized service offering. Soon after its creation Telus found itself in the early 2000 to be facing
major hurdles of maintaining its financing plans. The early 2000 offered an environment of
increased competition for telecom companies, saw the crash of the dot–com bubble and offered a
weaker business climate as a result of the 9/11 tragedy. Within this environment, the ratings by
credit rating companies had a profound influence on how telecom companies would continue to do
business. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In February 2002, Call–Net Enterprises Limited, reported a $1.4 billion loss for 2001. In April 2002,
Bell Canada Enterprises stopped providing long term funding to Teleglobe, one of its major
subsidiaries. This decision caused Teleglobe to fall into bankruptcy.
Key Issues / Main Problems
Due to the changed business environment, a number of key issues came to the forefront. With the
downgrading of Telus's credit rating by credit rating companies to speculative grade from
investment grade new implications came. How could major investor support be maintained as they
rely on these ratings in investment decisions? Would Telus's securitization program fall into
jeopardy if the company's debt was downgraded to below investment grade by the Dominion Bond
Rating Service (DBRS)? How would Telus's financing plan be maintained in the light of this
downgrade? How could the reduction in revenue be addressed due to the increased competitive
environment?
Why these issues occurred
Telus's credit rating was downgraded by all three companies covering Telus. Moody downgraded
Telus's credit rating from Baa2 to Ba1 on July 25, 2002 as it requires Telus to maintain the ratio of
debt to earning before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization to not exceed 3.8 times. DBRS
downgraded Telus's credit rating from BBB(high) to BBB on July 8, 2002 as it

Repetition in David Lves Plays Words, Words, Words and...
David Ives really experiments with repetition throughout all of his plays. Two examples of these
plays would be Words, Words, Words and Sure Thing Form his collection of plays called All in the
Timing. There are many different examples of repetition in each play. Ives repeats one certain thing
and makes this repetition mean many different things. In Sure Thing there is the repetition of the
bell, which represent how we tend to make snap judgments on people, and how we all strive for
perfection. He also uses the repetition of the words sure thing to represent how nothing in life can
really be considered a sure thing. In contrast in Words, Words, Words Ives uses the repetition of the
Monkey's typing to represent how sometimes luck gets us to where we need to be. Ives also uses the
repetition of Milton exhibiting typical Monkey behavior to show how we can repetition as a form of
manipulation
The bell rings twenty–eight times in Sure Thing. Every time Bill says something that Betty does not
find desirable the bell will ring and Bill gets another chance to woo her. Ives uses the repetition of
the bell ringing to show how we as humans make snap judgments on people. As soon as we learn
one fact about a person we base everything they say on that one fact and that it is very hard to come
back from a bad first impression. Bill's ability to gage Betty's reaction allows him to manipulate her
to make himself seem more desirable. This results in him succeeding and them leaving

The Importance Of Honesty
Honesty
Would you call yourself honest if you never have the chance to be dishonest? Honesty is the
foundation upon which a person builds any relationship with their loved ones such as family or
friends. Being honest to loved ones, will make them feel that they are trustworthy and close enough
for to reveal their feelings. Honesty plays an important role in raising children to be good citizens.
When I was six years old, one spring afternoon I was waiting for the bell to ring to go home from

I was hoping my mom wanted to keep it, after all I was the owner. I found it, not my mother. Then
she said, "Tomorrow we will go to school and give it back to whoever this money belongs to."
Tomorrow came and there we were, in the Principal's office. I remember the reaction of the
Principal. She was crying like a river, kissing my mother, and thanking her over and over for her
honesty and the great example she was to me. At that the moment I understood why she wanted to
give the money back. It belonged to the Principal who put the folder on my desk, while she was
giving the last minute announcement the day before. I had been in a hurry and I shoved the folder in
my back pack by accident. My mother never told me that what we did was called honesty. We never
talked about the incident. I learned by her example what the right choice was, and it changed my life
forever.
Shakespeare once said, "Honesty is the best policy. If I lose my honor, I lose myself." From his
quote, it is clear that Shakespeare thinks honor is more important than anything else in life. Honesty
is a virtue that is uniquely valued by human beings as well by our Heavenly Father. Being honest
often requires courage and sacrifice, especially when others try to persuade us to justify dishonest
behavior.

The Importance Of Writing In Writing
Writing from sources is very important for academic inquiry. It plays an important role in
publication as well. Writing from the sources in introductory writing sources devoted to research
writing, critical thinking, analysis, and argument. Writing from sources made people to write some
valuable research on summary. Students have to be sure that they are using the right sources, and
they are understanding the material. The main reason for patch writing on papers is that students do
not understand the material. Students have to understand the subject to be able to write a good
summary and analysis. Students usually patch writing on papers when they don't understand the
material. I used to do the same thing when I couldn't understand the subject. Analyzing the material
and trying to avoid becoming confused by data smog, can help students to avoid patch writing.
According to Howard (1993), "we define patchwriting as reproducing source language with some
words deleted or added, some grammatical structures altered, or some synonyms used".Patchwriting
is when students use the source language with some words deleted or added. The grammatical
instruction and language is the same. They just exchange some words to their synonyms.
Patchwriting can be considered plagiarism. If students understand the material, they do not need to
use the patchwriting. They can start writing the summary or analysis by using their own vocabulary.
Patchwriting make the readers very confused because they

a hard row to hoe. So, by the time the clock had struck 8:05 a.m. I was already late for my first real

least the last couple of minutes. So, I knew already that I would be walking into physics with all
eyes on me, an unsettling feeling to say the least. After finding the place, the door to the room was
still open, so I did my best to just nonchalantly walk in as surreptitiously as I could as I quickly

room tucked away underneath a poster of the periodic table that hung on the wall slightly crooked. I
took my seat, careful to keep my head down, not wanting to look up and see everyone staring at me.
But after a long moment of silence, I force myself to pick up my head and take a look around. Mr.

Nerds Essay
I can barely hear myself think over the constant roaring of the student body as we pile into the
lunchroom. I take a glance around the room as I make my way towards a table in the back, seeing
everyone else make their way towards their usual tables as well. As cliché as it seems, most people
sit with those who are like them – the popular girls sit together and talk about homecoming or boys,
the football players sit side by side talking about their upcoming game, and the band kids huddle
around their sheet music, using their lunch break as practice.
However, I affiliate with none of those cliques. Instead, I sit with those who are typically called the
"nerds" or "geeks" of the school. There are only guys on the table, except for me. Ordinarily, we talk
about television shows or our favorite video games. Today, it is just a typical day with every table
doing what it normally does, with no one giving any of it a second thought. ... Show more content

I am the first to arrive to my class, and I am instantly hit with a strong chemical odor. Scrunching
my nose up in disgust, I take my seat at the front of the class. Soon, other students start arriving, and
they complain about the smell. Our history teacher, a plump middle–aged woman we call Mrs. B,
enters the room right before the bell rings to signal the start of class and apologizes for the smell,
stating that someone in her previous class had vomited, and the janitor had to clean the area because
of that.
Mrs. B says that we can have a free day to do whatever we want since we did exceptionally well on
a test yesterday. I choose to read a book; some of the girls in class decide to have a conversation
with the teacher, during which they bring up seating arrangements at lunch. "I want to sit with my
boyfriend, but he doesn't want to come sit with me and the girls. He wants me to sit with him and his
teammates," one of the girls

Behavioral Perspective Part A.
Behavioral Perspective–Part A
It is a science of behavior in which it talks about the perspective in which one's behavior is
explained in such a way it responds to the things that you do. The behavior is what you are trained in
a long run of life. People behavior is a result of their interaction with the environment, forcing of
certain things that you have to do by your parents during your childhood days. It is basically training
a person to look for things when they get a hint. People are rewarded or punished when they do
achieve what they have been asked to. This influence person behavior in which it responds to what
they are asked to. It can be through training or enforcing certain things on a person to follow or that
they are supposed to do. People get molded in such a way that they respond to certain ways based on
their feedback. Animals and human gain knowledge easily and experiments on animals determine
human behavior a lot. Repeated experiments on animals and on human make them expert in
understanding what they have to do when some signal is given or when they are asked to do
anything.
Example: When we keep rat in a cage and we feed him only after ringing a bell for some days, you
will realize that whenever the bell rings the rat starts looking for a food in the cage. This shows that
the rat has adapted and mastered in the bell thing. Whenever the rat will hear bell rat will look for
food in the cage.
Another example is that when you feed dog you can see salivation

My First Day Of Class

  • 1. My First Day Of Class First Day of Class In the words of Harry Wong, "The first day of class is the most important day of the school year". Since this day is so important I will have had to prepare a few things before the day actually starts. I will have assigned seats in my classroom before the day starts, and I will have written my bell work activity for the class before they arrive. Finally, I will have all the materials I need for that day within reach, so I am prepared for transitions. Class length – 8:40– 9:34 Pre class time– 8:15 – 8:40 I will stand outside my classroom looking for my students. When I see my students I will great them, introduce myself as Mr. Zaruba, their 8th grade science teacher, and tell them to find their seat and read the board. Greeting the children at the door starts them off with a comfortable first day, and allows me to set the expectation of getting to work right away. Beginning activity – 8:40 – 8:55 Bell work will be listed on the board for them to complete. The bell work for the first day will be a questionnaire for the students to fill out. The activity will provide me with crucial information about my students' interests and goals. I will collect the bell work after 7 minutes and begin to go over my expectations in the class. My expectations will be presented in a fun music themed PowerPoint that will not take me longer than 8 minutes max. At the end of the PowerPoint, I will have my students repeat the expectations back to me. Finally I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The portable media player industry is one which is dominated by iPod 's monopoly, and saturated with second rate competitors; such as th ironically names iRiver, and Toshiba 's Gigabeat. All have been struggling to attain any market share under Apple 's prevailing shadow. Microsoft 's major problem in this market is the dominance of the apple brand which has become synonymous with portable music entertainment. • 5. Personal Narrative: My All City Orchestra Group Click, click, THUD, RING! The rusty old halls off Thorogood rung out with the noises of doors shutting, the clitter clatter of high heels across the slippery brown tiled floors, bells ringing leaving an echo through the halls, almost like a symphony. The conductor, Dr.Bell had just walked through the doorway. "WELCOME TO WEEK 27 OF SCHOOL." she said with a loud booming voice that rang off of every colorful painted cinder block wall. "Today is the day we have been training for..." The room got silent and by the looks of my classmates they were as querulous and appalled as I. "Today will be the day I determine my All City orchestra group" A gasp fell across the classroom. Whispers and murmurs of, "I hope she chooses me!" and, "I've always dreamed of performing on stage, will this be my chance to?" spread about in moments until, "SILENT! ... Her shiny grey hair and glasses gleamed in the light as she read from the page aloud, "If you have been called up, please step forward." As she was nearing the end of the list I heard my name as clear as day, "And Kate." I slowly arose and walked to the front of the silent, still class. We stood in a line facing our friends like a marching band, or soldiers. Suddenly the room filled with cheers and claps as loud as thunder, " CONGRATULATIONS. WELCOME TO THE TEAM! Mother Jones, 11 June 2013, www.motherjones.com/politics/2013/06/video–games–violence–guns–explainer/. This source is written by Erik Kain, a well–known writer on all things video games. He talks about the link between violent video games and gun violence and he compares the United States to other countries in terms of gun violence caused by violent video games. Kain may be slightly biased as video games are what his job revolves around, but he does use proven statistics and data to back up his claims. The intended audience are those who believe that violent video games are a cause of gun violence. I really like this source as it goes rather in–depth about the link between violent video games and gun violence and it also provides sources that help to back up its claims. I found this source by searching "violent video games +gun +violence" on Google. Jaslow, Ryan. "Violent video games and mass violence: A complex link." CBS News, Feb. 2013, www.cbsnews.com/news/violent–video–games–and–mass–violence–a–complex–link/. This source is written by Ryan Jaslow who is a Psychobiology graduate from Binghamton University. He talks about violent video games, their connection to gun violence, and how people are reacting to the surge of gun violence in America. Jaslow is not biased one way or the other, he provides information on the issue, talks about both sides, and he says that there is a complex link between the two and that more research must be done before any conclusions are made. The intended audience are those that are interested in the issue. I like this source as it provides the details for each side of the argument and it lets the reader decide their stance instead of trying to decide it for them. I found this source by searching "violent video games +gun +violence" on Google. Rose, Mike. "Video games and gun violence: A year after Sandy Hook." • 9. Graduation Speech: Listen Carefully Essay Listen carefully, Class of '2012, for the sounds you hear tonight will last a lifetime. Store them up and save them in your hearts, for they are priceless. Each whisper, each tick of the clock is a reminder of something you've gained here. Pay attention, so when you hear them later in life you will remember. When you hear a bell ring, remember our first day of school, back in September of 2008. The coolness of the desks chilled our sun–tanned skin as we sat timidly in our seats, quietly absorbing the shrill sound of our first high school bell as it rang at 7:30 in the morning. As much as our eyelids wanted to sink into a sweet abyss, fear crept through our bones as we eyed the monstrous seniors sitting nearby. For many of us, they may ... As a cheer rings out, think back to play–off football games in the frigid winter air. Remember clinging frantically to a cup of lukewarm hot chocolate only to have it stolen from you by that big guy in fourth period biology that you only talked to once. Listen once more to the noisemakers in your hands as you slammed them together in hopes it would bring the ball back to the correct side of field. Feel again the sensation of being squashed between other celebrating students as the clock ticked away the final seconds, displaying the winning score. Remember the pride you felt and hold it close, for it is a part of you. And when you hear the clock tick, remember all the things we have accomplished at Sunny, for they far outnumber the seconds that have elapsed while we were here. We are the class of 1999. • 11. College Admissions Essay There was a warm breeze that Friday in September when I packed my two large bags, kissed my family and friends good–bye, and left my home. Thus the greatest adventure of my life was begun. On my first day of studying in France, I woke up early and took a quasi–shower, which consisted of sprinkling myself with water for hours until all the soap finally drained out of my hair. My dressing procedures were followed by a silent breakfast that consisted of some bitter–tasting, dark liquid and a hard, bread–like substance. The bread I ate dry, for fear of the dark scary–looking pot of jam. I packed my books and headed off for class. As soon as I left my street, a man on a bike stared at me as he passed. "Stupid American," he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I waited patiently again for the green man. Several students passed me, and they all said, "Does she not know how to cross the street? Maybe she needs someone to hold her hand." When I got through the stone wall that surrounds my city, there was a small bar, where men sat outside drinking hard liquor at 8:00 in the morning. They all stared at me as I passed and thought seriously about surrounding me and harassing me until I screamed for help. I walked carefully down the narrow sidewalk of the street, until I passed a man walking the opposite way. He tried to run me off the sidewalk and scowled at me just for being in his way. He thought, "I wish these Americans would learn how to walk." Not long after that, there was a strange and straggly looking man in my path. He tried to stop me by asking me a question, but I kept walking. I didn't understand the question because he said it in French, but I'm pretty sure he was just trying to torture and embarrass me. When I passed the cafe just outside of my school, there were a number of beautiful people drinking their morning coffees. They all stared at me in disgust as I passed, thinking, "if we don't get these ugly Americans out of our country soon . . ."

  • 14. The Golden Age: Is It in the Past or in the Future? "The golden age is before us, not behind us." These words, from William Shakespeare, depict to people the possibility of reaching a higher echelon than ever before in comfort and command of the world. They demonstrate the result of forward thinking and the detriments to nostalgia. They are especially relevant to the current situation of the world's latest and greatest technology – the internet. The internet is merely a network of computers, but to modern humans, it accomplishes much more than just communication. It is a workplace, an entertainment center, and a news repository all at the same time. Rooster Teeth Productions, a company which has garnered billions of views, began by producing videos for the internet. Rooster Teeth recently moved into a new, 20,000 square foot office space in Austin, and now employs 38 people. It's a long way to come for a company that started out with no profit model, no office, and only a handful of passionate employees. (Rigney 3) Clearly, this only decades–old invention has had the most profound impact on human life since penicillin, but already people want to abuse the internet's power for personal gain. Amoral Internet Service Providers such as Comcast and Time Warner have and likely will continue to restrict the internet for monetary or otherwise self–preserving gains. • 16. Graduation Speech The next day I nearly skipped to school. I was in such a good mood that I couldn't help but to smile. I don't know what it is about Shay, but I couldn't get him out of my head. He was a bad boy that was probably a terrible influence but I couldn't help but hope that he would show up to class. Copper and I walked to school because we missed the bus and couldn't get another ride. I planned on having Shay drive me home and Copper was going to sleepover at his friend's house so we didn't butt heads. When I got into home room I took my normal seat in the back corner and Darcy sat in Shay's seat to talk to me before class started. We were talking until the tardy bell went off. She knew that was her queue to go back to her seat, but no one walked in right as the bell went off like normal. I looked around and so did everyone else. The kid a few seats up turned around and whispered something about living another day and I just glared at him. The pack walked in and because they are just that cool, they didn't get any tardy notes. They all sat down in their normal seat. I was looking down at my notebook because I didn't want it to seem like I was waiting for them to all come. A few second went by and Shay didn't sit down so I looked up and realized that Shay nor Axel were there. I tapped on Emmett's shoulder and asked him where they were, but he just shrugged and turned away. Halfway through class I looked up from my work again as they both walked in. It started when I was going to Liberty bell gas station to hang out with my friends Julia and Deanne. Julia was pale and had green hair but a green that resembled the statue of liberty. I met her through Deanne around January of 2017 and I liked how easy going she was. Deanne, on the other hand, was a brunette with a blonde highlight in the front of her hair. I met Deanne through her ex–boyfriend Aj, who was also a close friend. Deanne was from the suburbs and she moved to Philadelphia in August of 2016. I resided in philadelphia for 8 years and I hated how everyone is connected to each other there. I did quite a good job removing my ties from people I didn't want to be connected to. The day I had my moment of self discovery I ran into a few people I cut ties with. • 47. The Cask Of Amontillado By Edgar Alan Poe In Platizky's (1999) article on the Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Alan Poe is choppy and, sometimes, wandering critique. Albeit, the historical reference Platizky uses on how Poe "ambiguously capitalizes on psychological fear and historical reality" (p. 206), is the ultimate essence of the article which sets a novice reader on the right path to understanding the story. Platizky's use of historical facts and sources leads me to believe this article could help provoke a logical thought process for anyone to understand the fascination, and or fear, of being buried alive and the symbols used within the story. Platizky's article jumps from point to point with no clear direction. The order of Platizky transition s could be more concise; instead of jumping from Poe's earlier work, to tidbits of history, to the symbolism of points in the story, back to more historical references, and finally a weak conclusion that leaves readers wanting closure. This fact is not forthcoming of an adequate flow to follow. The flow is comparative to a Quentin Tarantino film jumping back and forth in the time line of the plot. Another aspect where Platizky's article lacks clear direction is through the explanation of the story's symbols and how they are historically tied. The statement of how "the catacombs could be symbolic due to Christian history and their nitrous decay" would serve readers best, not to elaborate on the catacombs. I looked to my right to apologize to Robert, but he started getting up to leave because of the bell. I felt truly terrible. I hadn't meant what I said and shouldn't have said it, but I still thought the whole thing would blow over in a matter of a few minutes. I couldn't have been more incorrect. The next class was a bore, as usual. I wasn't really thinking about Robert and what I had said until I felt a poke from behind. I heard a small hissing noise. "Psst," the mysterious entity said. I turned around to see that it was one of my worst enemies, Dylan. "Hello, Dylan," I hissed to him not unlike Jerry Seinfeld encountering Newman. "Hello, Fonseca," he responded in the same manner. "I heard that you were bad–mouthing Robert, like the coward you are. I'm pretty sure I saw him taking an alternate path to class, to avoid you." Oh man, I thought. This isn't going to end well. "Just stay away from me, Dylan," I told him. He sat back in his chair, having accomplished his mission. "Your grave," he said. That period was the hardest I've ever had to stand. • 51. College Narrative It was roughly five fifteen in the morning when the sun began to crest its golden crown over the awakening Hudson River and the far off New Jersey Palisades. A starless night sky seemed deliberately transformed with pink, orange, purple and red gauzy stripes, casting a warm wash over the sleeping earth. I gazed skyward as I stood near the medieval bell tower at the Cloisters, and my eyes reflected the awe–inspiring beauty. That dawn was one of many, when I found myself tramping deliberately up the forested hills of Fort Tryon Park. Before we start I would like you all to use half of your notes page to write down one word that describes how you have been feeling lately. You may accompany this with a picture if you wish. Now put those to the side, as we will need them a little later on. We are going to start today's PD a little differently. I want you all to have a go at the colouring sheets that are in front of you. We are going to just do this for 5minutes. During this time I want you to stay as quiet as you can and let your mind wander. –Ring a bell to regain attention (wait until bell has completely stopped before speaking)– Ok, it is now time to get the word/drawing that you wrote at the beginning of the session and in the other half repeat the same thing. Soon after its creation Telus found itself in the early 2000 to be facing major hurdles of maintaining its financing plans. The early 2000 offered an environment of increased competition for telecom companies, saw the crash of the dot–com bubble and offered a weaker business climate as a result of the 9/11 tragedy. Two examples of these plays would be Words, Words, Words and Sure Thing Form his collection of plays called All in the Timing. There are many different examples of repetition in each play. Ives repeats one certain thing and makes this repetition mean many different things. In Sure Thing there is the repetition of the bell, which represent how we tend to make snap judgments on people, and how we all strive for perfection. He also uses the repetition of the words sure thing to represent how nothing in life can really be considered a sure thing. In contrast in Words, Words, Words Ives uses the repetition of the Monkey's typing to represent how sometimes luck gets us to where we need to be. Ives also uses the repetition of Milton exhibiting typical Monkey behavior to show how we can repetition as a form of manipulation The bell rings twenty–eight times in Sure Thing. Every time Bill says something that Betty does not find desirable the bell will ring and Bill gets another chance to woo her. Ives uses the repetition of the bell ringing to show how we as humans make snap judgments on people. As soon as we learn one fact about a person we base everything they say on that one fact and that it is very hard to come back from a bad first impression. Bill's ability to gage Betty's reaction allows him to manipulate her to make himself seem more desirable. This results in him succeeding and them leaving ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Honesty is the foundation upon which a person builds any relationship with their loved ones such as family or friends. Being honest to loved ones, will make them feel that they are trustworthy and close enough for to reveal their feelings. Honesty plays an important role in raising children to be good citizens. When I was six years old, one spring afternoon I was waiting for the bell to ring to go home from school. The Principal, Mrs. Garcia came to my classroom to give us a last minute announcement. I found it, not my mother. Then she said, "Tomorrow we will go to school and give it back to whoever this money belongs to." Tomorrow came and there we were, in the Principal's office. I remember the reaction of the Principal. She was crying like a river, kissing my mother, and thanking her over and over for her honesty and the great example she was to me. At that the moment I understood why she wanted to give the money back. It belonged to the Principal who put the folder on my desk, while she was giving the last minute announcement the day before. I had been in a hurry and I shoved the folder in my back pack by accident. My mother never told me that what we did was called honesty. We never talked about the incident. I learned by her example what the right choice was, and it changed my life forever. Shakespeare once said, "Honesty is the best policy. If I lose my honor, I lose myself." From his quote, it is clear that Shakespeare thinks honor is more important than anything else in life. Honesty is a virtue that is uniquely valued by human beings as well by our Heavenly Father. Being honest often requires courage and sacrifice, especially when others try to persuade us to justify dishonest behavior. Writing from the sources in introductory writing sources devoted to research writing, critical thinking, analysis, and argument. Writing from sources made people to write some valuable research on summary. Students have to be sure that they are using the right sources, and they are understanding the material. The main reason for patch writing on papers is that students do not understand the material. Students have to understand the subject to be able to write a good summary and analysis. Students usually patch writing on papers when they don't understand the material. I used to do the same thing when I couldn't understand the subject. Analyzing the material and trying to avoid becoming confused by data smog, can help students to avoid patch writing. According to Howard (1993), "we define patchwriting as reproducing source language with some words deleted or added, some grammatical structures altered, or some synonyms used".Patchwriting is when students use the source language with some words deleted or added. The grammatical instruction and language is the same. They just exchange some words to their synonyms. Patchwriting can be considered plagiarism. If students understand the material, they do not need to use the patchwriting. They can start writing the summary or analysis by using their own vocabulary. However, I affiliate with none of those cliques. Instead, I sit with those who are typically called the "nerds" or "geeks" of the school. There are only guys on the table, except for me. • 79. Behavioral Perspective Part A. Behavioral Perspective–Part A It is a science of behavior in which it talks about the perspective in which one's behavior is explained in such a way it responds to the things that you do. The behavior is what you are trained in a long run of life. People behavior is a result of their interaction with the environment, forcing of certain things that you have to do by your parents during your childhood days. It is basically training a person to look for things when they get a hint. People are rewarded or punished when they do achieve what they have been asked to. This influence person behavior in which it responds to what they are asked to. It can be through training or enforcing certain things on a person to follow or that they are supposed to do. People get molded in such a way that they respond to certain ways based on their feedback. Animals and human gain knowledge easily and experiments on animals determine human behavior a lot. Repeated experiments on animals and on human make them expert in understanding what they have to do when some signal is given or when they are asked to do anything. Example: When we keep rat in a cage and we feed him only after ringing a bell for some days, you will realize that whenever the bell rings the rat starts looking for a food in the cage. This shows that the rat has adapted and mastered in the bell thing. Whenever the rat will hear bell rat will look for food in the cage.
