Using Video Games in the Classroom
Video Games could be used in the classroom for a wide variety of different subjects, ranging from
math, to science, to english and even in foreign language classes as many games that are made in
different countries are in that country s own language. Of Course games are almost always translated
into different languages so that people worldwide could play them but a foreign language teacher
wouldn t find it too difficult to get ahold of a copy of a game in a foreign language. Music classes
such as band or choir could even use video games such as Guitar Hero or Rock Band to teach their
classes about different types of music and different artists and to involve students more in playing
music and singing, this could even lead to some students entering a career in the world of music. A
Science class could use the wonderfully challenging puzzle game Portal to teach students about
physics, momentum and other gravity based mechanics. There are many different ways that video
games could be used in the classroom, schools just need to figure out the best ways to implement them
and make it work.
There are quite a few benefits to using video games in education, one big one being students would be
way more excited about learning through video games rather than through the standard way lessons
are taught in most schools today. If students are actually looking forward to a lesson than their
performance on the assignment is going to be greatly increased, students will actually want to

Mesoamerican Ball Game
When people think of sports, some of the first things that come to mind are ball games such as football
and basketball, cheerleaders, and expensive halftime shows. We rarely think about the origins of these
organized games, which date back thousands of years to the subtropical regions of Central America.
Today s sports fans have nothing on the Mayans. The Mesoamerican Ball Game is the oldest known
sport in the Americas. It was a ritual, political and social activity that involved the whole community.
The basic form consisted of two parallel mounds separated by a playing field, but the ball court
evolved and took on an important variation with end zones forming an I shape (Foster, 2002, p.233).
These structures had sloping walls and benches, where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ball game was played for many reasons, including entertainment and competition. Because the
losers were frequently sacrificed, ball games also served as a way to reenact wars with enemy peoples
(Foster, 2002, p.195). To play, the ball is kept in the air by hitting it with the hips, thighs or upper arms
and bouncing it of the side walls. The use of the hands or feet was forbidden. The solid rubber ball
was extremely hard and causes serious injuries. The ball game participants wore padding on their
forearms and knees as protection against the hard ball and even harder masonry surfaces of the ball
courts (Foster, 2002, p.195). To protect ribs and the torso players would wear a U shaped belt or yoke.
They were made out of leather or wicker. Hachas were axlike stone implements shaped like animal,
bird, or human heads and worn inserted in the belt (Foster, 2002, p.195). It s also said that the motions
of the ball were thought to parallel the motions of the sun, moon, and Venus as they rose through the
sky and sank in the Underworld (Foster, 2002, p.195). There s a spiritual story associated with the ball
game about the Hero Twins from the Popol

Essay about A Career in Sports Management
Choosing a career is one of the most important decisions a person will make in their life. Most people
try to pick the career with the best financial gain and something they would like to do for the rest of
their life. Foremost it is wise to see what the job entails. Sport Management is perfect for those who
enjoy helping and working with people, especially when dealing with sports. The next part of the
decision making process is looking through the various schooling and training required. Lastly, take
into consideration the advantages and disadvantages. Usually with great salaries comes a big
responsibility with high stress. The sports industry in the U.S. is a $200 billion dollar plus

No matter what career is selected, they all play an important role in managing a team. It is not
necessary to be in a set position either as change is very common in this industry. The career of a sport
management professional offers a large number of various positions. One such career is that of a
director who specializes in promotion and development. Promotion and development directors are
hired by sports teams and school athletic programs to design and implement promotional campaigns
that will increase ticket sales (Sports Management 1). The biggest part of their job is to provide a
profit for the organization they are working for. Directors set up opportunities for the sports team to
make money off of sponsors. They also set up deals with advertisers to pay a sum of money in
exchange for their ads or products to be listed or shown at their sporting event (Sports Management
1). Good advertising and production of cash flow go hand in hand while promotion directors try to
help them to succeed. Development and promotion directors play an important role in developing a
profit for their organizations. Another important aspect of sports is the media and news part of it.
Cooperation and legal rights can be greatly disputed in the area dealing with the media. The person

My Experience At World Cafe Live
For my second venue visit, I went to The Trocadero in Philadelphia, PA. This ended up much less
hectic than my first experience at World Cafe Live. From the start, I decided to implement one of the
main lessons I learned from my first visit, so I left my house with ample time to get to the venue, and
accidentally arrived before the front of house engineer did. Luckily, there were a few assistant
engineers there, and they let me in. One was an intern named Kyle from The Art Institutes of
Philadelphia. The other was a guy that went by the name Badge. I later found out the he was the
monitor engineer. Shortly after, Joe, the front of house engineer, showed up. They were all easy going
guys. Before they set up the stage, they all worked on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I checked google for Sennheiser 607s to make sure, and found no results. A shure PG81 condenser mic
was used for hi hats, and two SM137s were used for overheads, also condensers. I had never
encountered the PG81 or the SM137 before that, to my knowledge, so I was nice to see them in action.
All of that fed into a subsnake place by the drums. The band also had a DJ, who was placed on a riser
upstage, stage right. I actually got to help patch that. We took the stereo outs, XLR, of his controller
directly into the main patch. I am assuming that Joe meant the main snake when he said that. I gave
him the cables and he took them under the stage, so I did not actually get to see where the other side
was patched in. I followed him around while he finished setting things up on stage. There were for
keyboards total. They were all patched as mono into different DI boxes. I asked him why mono
instead of stereo, and he said that usually he would do stereo. However, in this case it was easier to do
mono sends since keyboards would be changing position on the stage throughout the night. During
this time he gave me the advice he says he gives everyone just coming into the business. Safety first.
He told me that I did not want a sandbag to fall on someone, and to trust him on that. In addition, the
band had a bass player, a guitar player, a saxophone, a trumpet, and one of the keyboard

To Room Nineteen Crytical Analysis
_ To Room Nineteen _
I plan to argue To Room Nineteen by Doris Lessing for an audience of professors interested in the
field of psychology and it s affect on women s lives, stating that the cause of suicide for Ms. Dubois is
not because of the social judgments and perception negatively that impacted Susan s domestic
responsibilities but rather the lack of emotion within her life and her relationship with her husband,
because she could live up to the ideals valued by culture and beliefs but deep down she married for the
benefit of others and no love in their relationship or with her children.
Traditionally in the mid twentieth century, women held various duties that were crucial to keep their
households intact. Most have sacrificed much ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also Sophie, the Rawlings household worker, replaced Susan s position in the family. Ever since
Sophie was welcomed into the family, she has been more of a mother, wife, and mistress of the house
than Susan, which caused her to feel out of place. She took lunch with Mrs. Parkes, Sophie, Sophie s
Italian friend Maria, and her daughter Molly, and felt like a visitor. (2777) It gives her the impression
that she was invisible and separated from her family. In addition, her four children require her
complete attention to tend for them so that they would grow to be strong and healthy adults. She was
breaking her part of the bargain and there was no way of forcing her to keep it: that her spirit, her soul,
should live in this house, so that people in it could grow like plants in water, and Mrs. Parkes remain
content in their service. (2772) As long as she s their mother, she will continuously put all her energy
to raise her children. She could not deliver all these requests to nurture her children, so she decides to
abandon her duties. Seclusion is a major aspect that influences a person to become odd and bizarre.
Women s freedom and liberation are restrained because of the principles followed by customary
lifestyles. Doris Lessing draws extensively on women s inner, private experiences and on their
departure from the unsatisfactory reality of life in an alienated and alienating society. (Rula Quawas)

Health As Being Mentally And Physically Content With One...
There are those who want to become a doctor to keep others healthy and those who want to become a
counsellor to also, keep others healthy. This shows that trying to simplify the term health into one
universal definition could be a difficult task. Physical health that can be tested through x rays and
blood tests, issues such as mental and social health however cannot be tested. A person who is
suffering from depression and a person who has a fever should hold the same level of importance to a
doctor, parent and society. Health just like people can come in all different shapes and sizes. Health
for everyone is not the same. This is shown in different teachings of different disciplines as well. The
author defines health as being mentally and physically content with one s self. Philosophy is a study of
problems, which are ultimate, abstract and very general. These problems are concerned with the nature
of existence, knowledge, morality, reason and human purpose (Teichmann Evans, 1999, p.1). Famous
philosophers such as Plato, Aristotle and Karl Marx all shared one common goal, which was to find
the truth in certain human pneumonias. Philosophy is all about the truth of things. The philosophical
understanding of public health consist of controversial ethical, political and social issues, including
those related to vaccinations, the threat of pandemics and possible restrictions to individual liberties,
public health research, screening and obesity policy (Dawson, 2008,

Bullying And Its Effect On Schools
While bullying has occurred for many years, anti bullying programs in schools are having a strict
development. Bullying was not an important subject that was paid much attention in schools or
classrooms before 1999. When the Columbine and Virginia Tech shooting happened, schools did not
have any anti bullying programs. In 1999, schools started to implement anti bullying programs like
The Espelage Lab and Collaborator and many others. Unfortunately, bullying is still happening in
nowadays. Bullying tragedies are in nowadays active. One big example is the bullying tragic ending:
Angel Green hanged herself in a tree outside of her school so her bullies could see her every morning
(Goad, 2015). This and many other tragedies have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All these interactive activities are also known as Universal actions. As for results, the Kiva program
has demonstrated reductions in bullying and victimization, while it promoted students empathy toward
victimized peers and self efficacy to help them. The Kiva program has shown increases in school
liking and social motivation ( Salmivalli et al, 2013).
Emphasis on the Teacher
Teachers Roles Teachers can be seen as authority figures, and can stand up for behavioral norms in
classrooms (Veenstra, Lindenberg, Tinga, Ormell, 2010). When teachers are more involved in
preventing bullying and help to create a positive environment, students can feel confident to talk to the
teacher if there is a bullying problem (Veentra et al, 2014). Positive relationships between students and
teachers can help strengthen anti bullying norms (Veentra et al, 2014). Programs to support teachers
efficacy and attitudes are very important to help bullying victims in a classroom. Bullying incidents
mostly take place on the playground, hallways, lunchroom, and other place where teachers are not
around (Veenstra et al, 2014). Unfortunately, teachers are not able to support anti bullying norms
while they are not around (Atlas, Pepler, 1998). But still victims feel teachers are not able to protect
them, when teachers are around (Novick Isaacs, 2010).

The Latonya In The Hot Bar
The parking lot and the entrance of the store were spotless. Not a bit of trash anywhere and no loose
carts. The entrance was such a clean area I thought they must have pressure washed it recently. I felt it
was a beautiful start for shopping. But all was lost on the inside of the store. The floor around the cart
storage area was dirty. There was paper and produce in the floor in the Produce department. Several
grocery aisles had paper/cardboard litter on the floor. I met Evan in a grocery aisle as he was checking
a product price. I asked him about an item and he told me what aisle I would find the product. He did
not escort me to the location of the product. Latonya in the Hot Bar was very helpful. Her politeness

Swimming Reflection
I was in 5th grade and school was going just fine. I had decent grades, some good friends, absolutely
no athletic ability. Just your typical 10 year old nerd. Soon, in Physical Education, we were going to
start our swimming unit. The more athletic kids loved this; needless to say, I didn t, and for one reason
and one reason only; I never learned how to swim.
When the day of the first swimming unit started, I felt scared, or perhaps that s my present emotions
getting in the way of my past emotions. We entered the locker room and equipped ourselves with our
swimming apparel and exited to the room with the pool. I could smell the chlorine in the air. Everyone
in my class was seated on a large steel bench and divided into groups; Beginner, Intermediate, and
Advanced.
Surprisingly enough, I was placed into the Intermediate group with two of my aforementioned friends.
I felt a weird sense of pride as I walked past the others waiting to be assigned to a group with my new
colleagues. Once everyone was assigned to a group, my group s instructor yelled out, Alright, get in
the water and hold onto the side! We did as we told, but what I didn t know was that the height of the
water in that area of the pool was greater than mine.
Next, he barked, Alright, we re gonna swim to the deep end and back!
At this point, the thoughts in my head probably resembled something like, What! or How do you
expect me to do that! I figured it would be best not to argue and I instead shot off the

Why I Am A Student At Bmcc And I Have An Interest Essay
I m a student at BMCC and I have an interest in Accounting. I graduate this semester with my
Associates of Applied Science degree in Accounting. The reason why I m in this field is because I
always enjoyed numbers as a kid and accounting may be the best route to a successful business career
because accounting has always been considered as the language and basic tool of business. I also feel
the demand for accountants appears to be growing and exceeding job opportunities in today s business
economy. Accounting opens doors in every single kind of business all around the world. It can give
me the establishment I need to go on and become a CPA. It also can prepare me to become a potential
partner in an accounting firm, to follow a career in finance or corporate management, to maybe work
in government, or even to become an entrepreneur when I choose to retire. I feel no matter what I
decide to do in life, having an accounting background can open opportunities for me. I also would be
giving the opportunity to meet a diverse range of backgrounds such as coworkers, cliental and
mentors. My older brother graduated from Monroe College with his associates in accounting. He
ended up having kids and never progressed further in his accounting career. Being aware inspired me
to want to work harder to progress to accomplish my goals. My long term career goal is to be a CPA
but in order for me to achieve that I must conquer my short term goals. My short term goals are to

CONTROLLING HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE High blood pressure is also controlled by snake
venom. The venom of Pit Viper consists of the component known as ACE inhibiter. This ACE
inhibiter is proved to enlarge the narrowed blood vessels so that the flow of blood gets smooth. This
ACE inhibiter is isolated from the Viper s venom and is injected for treating high blood pressure
around the world. The smooth flow of blood reduces the chance of blood clots, heart attacks and brain
strokes.
It is very difficult to think of the dreadful, fatal snake and consider it as helpful in making cure for our
heart or brain maladies but once we study the information of the venom, we get to know about our
own body functions and ways to keep it fit.

Apart from that Hinduism consists of many stories and myths regarding cobras, its deadly bite, and
hood on the head of a cobra, its swaying dance on the voice of the flute and similar things. On the
basis of such thoughts, Cobra is called as King Cobra which signifies that it is the King of all snakes.
The cobra is crowned by the royalty and nobility elements when it is usually discussed.
King cobra has maintained its position also on the basis of his comparatively longest length than other
snakes. The panic, fear, and anxiety comes with King Cobra. The individuals that see it are enveloped
by the apprehensive emotions but to our surprise cobras display the characteristics of the calm snake
which hisses and slides away on its own way without disturbing anyone if not threatened in which

This project was aimed at creating some reasonable forecasts of the trend of gas prices in the United
States in the next period of time, based on an analysis of a series of annual gas prices in the United
States from 1982 to 2011. These observations are essential in our delivery business because so much
of our expenses and overall operational costs are, in fact, based on the gas prices. The main objective
of this project is, thus, to analyze the perspectives of the evolution of gas prices in the next period of
time and, based on that, to determine potential preventive solutions that can help in lowering the
impact of a significant increase in gasoline prices over the next years. As mentioned, the analysis was
based on a time series with monthly gas prices from 1982 to 2011. Gas prices started at around $1.3 a
gallon in 1982, with the prices still affected by the Iranian Revolution in 1979 and the limits imposed
on imports from the Middle East because of that. In an overlook on the figures, these went below $1 a
gallon from 1987 to 1989 and then again, in 1999. From that moment, the prices have gradually
increased until the present time, with $3.167 a gallon at

Use of Point of View, Setting and Symbolism in The...
The Swimmer, a short fiction by John Cheever, presents a theme to the reader about the unavoidable
changes of life. The story focuses on the round character by the name of Neddy Merrill who is in
extreme denial about the reality of his life. He has lost his youth, wealth, and family yet only at the
end of the story does he develop the most by experiencing a glimpse of realization on all that he has
indeed lost. In the short story The Swimmer, John Cheever uses point of view, setting and symbolism
to show the value of true relationships and the moments of life that are taken for granted. The
Swimmer is an allegory that is narrated in third person point of view as someone who is observing
Neddy s journey. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cheever s usage of symbolism with the swimming pools and the round character greatly demonstrate
the main theme of The Swimmer that indicates how life does change and will continue to inevitable do
so no matter how much one may try to ignore it. Cheever also uses the consumption of alcohol
throughout the story to symbolize Neddy s unhappiness. Neddy s desire for a drink grows stronger
throughout the story especially when he is feeling weak and miserable which shows the true emotional
state that he is in. According to Dr. Mark Jacob, 30 percent to 50 percent of people with alcoholism, at
any given time, also are suffering from major depression... while alcohol often causes a good mood at
first, it is a depression causing drug. The signs of alcohol abuse and the descriptions of the weather
changing from summer to fall as well as the storm that passes thru are all symbolic examples
representing the various circumstances in Neddy s life. Neddy once felt full of life and was only
concerned about his own happiness. Once the storm appeared in the story the character suddenly felt
lonely and was never the same for he only felt coldness from that moment on. Time is passing much
more quickly as Neddy s journey progresses. Cheever finishes the story by having the round character
realize that his life is coming to an end when he

Architecture Style And Architecture Of The Taj Mahal
CHAPTER 1
1.0 INTRODUCTION A story makes an old building charming. In reality, a pleasing exterior view
does not ensure people will be attracted to the particular heritage building. It is the story behind the
heritage building that gives meaning to both building and people. As a heritage building, the building
itself has been passed the test of time and becomes a typical landmark for a city. Hence, the story of
the building explained its architecture style and structure which makes it be a remarkable building. For
instance, Sultan Abdul Samad Building (SASB) has a unique architectural design which is the mixture
of several architectural styles. This result is caused by the Charles Edwin Spooner, the state engineer
of Public Work Department, Selangor, who worked in Ceylon before transferred to Selangor. He
preferred to design a Mughal style building on a Classic Renaissance style ground plan which
suggested by A.C. Norman. Moreover, British Victorian style is incorporated into this building s
design as the British colonized Malaya. This story explained its unique architectural structure while

Sacrifice In Ancient Greece
Sacrifice is a significant theme to the Background to mythology as well as Greek societies. Sacrifice is
an approach in giving up something of special value. This was essential to Greek societies because
sacrifice was essential to the polytheistic religion in which they would sacrifice many valuable items
to them in order to appease the gods. To successfully appease the gods, Greeks would give up
important values such as animals, which were considered very precious and valued items. Sacrifice
plays a significant role on Ancient Greek societies, this helps prove to the gods the respect the Greeks
have over their authorities. In Greek society sacrifice was very important in order to please the gods.
The most basic sacrifice was the sacrifice of an animal especially a pig or goat. Once the animal was
given to the gods the sacrificial lamb would become a feast for the gods. The animal would be cooked
upon an open flame on the altar of the gods. To the gods went the best pieces with fat and spices. In

How John Coltrane Influenced Jazz
The alto saxophonist, John Coltrane, was one of the most cultural ethical leaders of avant garde jazz,
in the 1960 s. He was an innovative composer and artist who pushed the boundaries of contemporary
jazz. Avant gardism liberated artists from the traditional form of jazz and pushed them to question and
change the whole idea of jazz itself. Coltrane was the type of musician who believed that he could
always be better than he already was. It was not unusual for someone to see him always practicing his
music, he would practice for hours and hours a day. Coltrane mastered a lot of the different styles of
jazz, because of this he went on to learn different types of music from different backgrounds so that he
could use it to improvise his music. From all the jazz artist we have learned this semester, so far,
Coltrane seems to be the one who had the greatest passion for jazz. For this, I admire his hard work
and passion he had for jazz. Even though he had already learned just about everything he could about

and shifting rhythms. He was obsessed with scales, he would practice them whenever he could. He
would also try to practice playing every note in every chord he could. In fact, Kind of Blue, is one of
his most influential pieces, it is considered a test pattern for music students attempting to master fast

classics, he tried to teach upcoming musicians to think outside the box and think of fresh ideas that

Essay On The Enlightenment
The Enlightenment
The Enlightenment was a time of great reform in ideas and knowledge. It was such an important part
of history, that it took many people and many years to fully bring it into play. This time in life was all
about change, such as the education of women, the separation of science and church, and the freedom
to learn without government censorship. Someone people were on board with the movement, but
others fought against the great ideals of Enlightenment. Although, it is sure that without the
Enlightenment, our world would be very different today, and not in a good way.

Another change that occurred during enlightenment was the education of women. During the time of
Absolutism, women were seen as under their husband s authority and control. Women received
minimal education and if they did by chance receive a higher education, they hardly had a voice of
their own to advocate ideas. When the era of enlightenment arrived, many men started to realized the
importance and value in a woman s education. One of the major examples of what a women s
education can bring to society, was displayed through the career of Mary Wortley Montagu. Montagu
was known for taking a public stance on inoculation, practicing it on her own children and introducing
it before it became a common practice in Europe. Montagu traveled to many places in Europe and
learned from her cultural experiences. She even spoke of educational rights in Germany, She went
from city to city and decried the power of the absolutist princes over their subjects (Jacob p24). Her
work inspired many women to become educated and learn

What Is The Tone In King Lear
King Lear asks his daughters which of them loves him the most. Cordelia expresses honestly to him
her answer. She tells him that she loves him, and respects him. She appreciates his fatherly efforts to
take care of them. Nevertheless she knows his game of trying to boost his ego, so she vocalizes that
her love for him will never be with her whole heart. She is soon to be married so half her heart
belongs to her new husband. The rest is for caring for her family which includes her sisters, and her
father. This passage shows that she is honest and does not reduce herself for pleasing her father. As
she speaks to her father she keeps a calm and collected attitude. She speaks to him respectfully.
Throughout the passage the author uses abstract diction to express the emotions cordelia feels.
This passage is significant to the play because it sets up the events following. After she refuses to
enlarge her father s self esteem,he tells her to leave. She no longer stays with her father or have
contact with him. This also opens king Lear s eyes to the truth. He learns that his daughter that he left
actually loves him and tells him the truth. While the daughters that told him that they love him with
everything they have, they are the ones that betray him, and cause the ... Show more content on

The truth that comes later helps King Lear know who is loyal to him or not. It also brings light into the
darkness of all the people who are creating conflicts in the play. The passage invites more questions of
reality. The logic people give may be deceiving. The people give convincing evidence but they can all
end with heartbreaking truth. King Lear has a major character development. He is egotistical and likes
the feeling of praise and power. After he lets go of his favorite and genuine daughter, he advances in a
long journey of pain and suffering. He learns that reality is what let go a long time ago. He leans not to

How Taxpayer Can Help A Claim Of Negligence Against The...
Taxpayer can also bring a claim of negligence against the Milwaukee Does. The question of the Does
liability follows a very similar analysis of that of the City of Milwaukee, with a few exceptions. First,
Bongo s conduct in shooting the gun will likely be attributed to the Milwaukee Does as the operator of
the event under the legal theory of respondeat superior. Second, in contrast to the City, the Does will
likely not fall under a safe place because they do not own the arena. Rather, the Does will likely by
subject to the traditional negligence standard of ordinary care. The legal theory of respondeat superior
stands for the proposition that through vicarious liability a master may be liable for the acts of his or
her servants in the course of his or her employment. Under this legal theory courts have found
basketball teams labile for the actions of mascots employed by the team for the negligent acts of the
mascot during the course of game. Accordingly, the Does can be found liable for the negligent acts of
Bongo. A Wisconsin court is likely to find a team liable to spectators for the acts of its mascots and
accordingly Taxpayer s recovery against the Milwaukee Does will likely be successful. The Does most
likely instructed Bongo to use the T shirt cannon during the game as a promotional and entertainment
event. Moreover, the Does benefit greatly from ticket sales and provided the mid game entertainment
as a means for increase the enjoyment of the game, resulting in

ING5 Case Study
The ING (INhibitor of Growth) family of genes and proteins (ING1 ING5) was identified in 1996,
from PCR mediated subtractive hybridization between a normal mammary epithelial cell strain and
several transformed breast cancer cell lines, followed by an in vivo functional screen for
tumourigenesis1. The ING proteins target histone acetyltransferase (HAT) and histone deacetylase
(HDAC) complexes to the H3K4me3 mark, altering histone acetylation and gene expression2. ING4
was identified by computational analysis and is expressed in various tissues; also several splice
variants and transcripts were described for this protein3 5. The ING5 protein of the ING family, was
described by computational homology search and shares a high amino acid ... Show more content on

Also, due to the presence of the LID in all INGs, we will study if ING5 and ING4 are capable of
interacting with Lamin A in differentiating stem cells and the importance of this interaction to stem
cell differentiation.
To achieve these objectives, we will use three different mouse embryonic stem (ES) cell lines (R1, D3,
E14), already present in the lab. In ongoing studies, it was noted that these cells presented all five of
the ING genes with altered expression when they were induced to differentiate. We will first study if
altering ING5 and ING4 expression using siING5 and siING4 to decrease it and pCI ING5, pCI ING4
to increase levels, will affect differentiation and the self renewal rate of these lines. We will use sphere
formation assays to assess self renewal. We will also induce differentiation with these different
expression constructs, thus measuring the influence of these proteins in the process. To determine the
degree of differentiation with varying expression of the ING genes, we will use flow cytometry to
follow changes in stem cells markers, such as OCT4, OLIG2 and Nestin16.
Previous studies from our group already described the LID and the interaction of several ING proteins
with Lamin A12. In the conditions used in this study, ING4 was co precipitated with Lamin A.
However, even though ING5 presents the LID, it was not co precipitated12. In this work we aim to
evaluate the effects of the possible interaction between the ING4 and

Crito And Socrates
The story of Crito relates the last days of Socrates and was written by Plato. When Crito arrived to see
Socrates he found him sleeping quietly and in peace, which was unusual for someone who is waiting
for executing. Apparently, Socrates and Crito has a good friendship because Crito offered Socrates the
opportunity to scape and for this, Crito offered to pay the money for Socrates escape. Socrates,
immediately started to do what he does best, which is using his philosophical talents by asking
questions and providing answers to Crito. One of the questions that Socrates formulated to Crito was
if one person should do the wrong thing. And Crito replied to Socrates that they should do no wrong to
anyone. Also, Socrates asked Crito the question that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But maybe Socrates really thought about becoming a hero of Athens and be remember forever as a
martyr. Socrates was one of the kind that stood up for his believes and choose death instead of exile.
Socrates mentions that no one should do nothing bad to another person, but the whole jury did wrong
to Socrates by send him to death. I think Crito should had said that the city was not worth to die for
because most people were cruel and had no feeling towards Socrates. The other important aspect to
analyze was the agreements that Socrates wanted to keep, which was his sentence to death. I will say
that the promises in some rare cases can be brake. For instance, I can promise love forever to my
partner but it doesn t mean that this will last forever, sometimes the love ends or it can broke by
infidelity. The respect that Socrates has for his country was very the most important aspect in his
conversation with Crito. I will say that Socrates did all he could for his country, he even fought the
wars for his country, and still his country didn t care for him and sentenced him to death. A country is

How Does Tonicity Affect Red Blood Cells
The Solution Affect on Red Blood Cells
Introduction
Red blood cells are called erythrocytes. Erythrocytes is a cell that travels in the blood. The blood
consists of four major parts including red blood cells. Blood is a fluid that is inhuman in order to
survive. There are different purposed for the red blood cells that are used to keep the body healthy.
Red blood cells have a protein that carries more oxygen molecules from the lungs to the body.
Hemoglobin leaves the body and returns carbon dioxide to the lungs. Without out this, people will not
survive. When the red blood cell pass through the blood vessels in your body the cell forms a shape of
a round shape like a donut. It the center it looks flat. Red blood cells have a lack of the nucleus and
survive about 120 days. Red blood cell needs to be replaced by fresh ones daily.
According to Mader (2016) Tonicity is the relative concentration of solute (particles) .There are some
of the solutions that are mixed might have a higher and lower concentration of water. With each
example, there is a different tonicity; there will be an explanation giving on each one. If the solutions
are not mixed incorrectly then the results will come out the same way. The purpose of this study is to

hypothesis, that if you mix the solution up incorrectly then the results will not turn out correctly. The

data that was given, there was not enough water in the tube. The solution was not mixed well because
the print on the paper was hard to read. When doing this procedure, instructions must be followed as

Pacific Ring Of Fire Research Paper
As a tectonic plate slides into the mantle, the heat releases fluids trapped in the plate. Seawater and
carbon dioxide, rise into the upper plate and can partially melt the overlying crust, forming magma.
And magma most likely means volcanoes are around.
The Pacific Ring of Fire reveals a connection between subduction zones and volcanoes. Inland of each
subduction zone is a chain of spouting volcanoes called a volcanic arc, such as Alaska s Aleutian
Islands. The Toba volcanic eruption in Indonesia, the largest volcanic eruption in the past 25 million
years, was from a subduction zone volcano. What is the Juan de Fuca Subduction? The Juan de Fuca

Strengths And Weaknesses Of An Entrepreneur Essay
Explain and critically analyze unique traits of an Entrepreneur, discuss these related to personal
strengths and weaknesses Introduction Entrepreneurship is difficult to define throughout its history
research. Even nowadays, this concept is still a debatable point (Rajendra, et al., 2017). Based on four
decades of research, Gartner (1988) concludes that entrepreneurs are founders of new firms. Shane
and Venkataraman (2000) consider entrepreneurship as a new venture s risk taking endeavor seeking
an opportunity and Fortunato (2014) adds innovative value into the concept of entrepreneurship. Thus,
research on the definition of entrepreneurship continue. According to those diverse views, I will
interpret six unique entrepreneurial characteristics and theoretically analyze each one. Risk taker, need
for achievement and proactivity as my strengthens will be illustrated with my experience.
Innovativeness, internal locus of control and tolerance for ambiguity are my weaknesses, thus I will
describe relevant successful Entrepreneurs experiences. Strengths Risk Taking Propensity Based on
Knight s economics view (1921), risk taking is crucial to entrepreneurism. This view is supported by
many classical theorists like Cantillon and Richard (1755) who explore that entrepreneurs bear risks or
uncertainty to keep supply demand balance. Phan (2008) also support this positive relationship and
assert that entrepreneurs are risk takers, not gamblers. However, Bula (2012) argues that

Trying to think of a conflict or obstacle to write about has been the most frustrating part about this
essay, it took a while to comb through my life to think of any conflicts or trials I could write about. I
eventually just went to the one person who s been with me since the beginning and asked for a few
examples of conflicts and or struggles I went through but don t exactly recall. My mother pointed out
that the reason I couldn t think of any struggles was because growing up her and my father shielded
me and my siblings from a lot, and did their best to keep us from seeing them struggle. A prime
example of how much they shielded from us is when I was thirteen my Dad was dying from kidney
failure and we didn t find out until it was a definite

The Myth Of Multitasking By Nass Summary
Multitasking is an action where one person can ultimately act on two tasks or more at once. In the
article, The Myth of Multitasking , Nass summarizes that the cause of this issue is simply that the
human brain slows the thought process of doing multiple tasks at once instead of one task at a time.
This conflict is important because it poses potential risks to us in a mental or physical way. We should
teach the younger generation this valuable information which will reduce the amount of problems that
deal with multitasking in the future. In Nass research, one of his arguments was that multitasking is a
way to slow your mind down while succeeding in tasks slower than usual. People who chronically
multitask show an enormous range of deficits. They re basically terrible at all sorts of cognitive tasks,
including multitasking (Flatow). He says that these results show that people who believe that they are
multitasking effectively aren t actually multitasking effectively. They just think that they are and they
wrong because they had made less progress combined than at one task at a time. In my view, I believe
that multitasking is impossible to do because I was taught that the human ... Show more content on

night I had studying. My brain did not process all of the material I had to know for the test tomorrow
and I did not even finish the homework that day. I spent most of my attention watching TV and the
rest of my attention went to my studying and homework. If I were to have done each task separately, I

The Wrath Of God Vs. Big Brother
The Wrath of God vs. Big Brother: Observational Effects of Cooperation in the Dictator Game (2000
words)
General overview of plan
A consistent finding within the paradigm of experimental games is that humans reward others who
behave cooperatively and fairly (Gächter, Renner Sefton, 2008, Zimring, 1971) and often impose
sanctions on those who fail to do so (Guala, 2012, Bankston Cramer, 1974). One potential means of
implementing and maintaining fairness is through the maintenance of a cultural norm of fairness (Fehr
Fischbacher, 2004). As human societies are often predicated repeated cooperative behaviours between
genetically unrelated individuals (McKay, Efferson, Whitehouse Fehr, 2010) one possible explanation
for large scale cooperation is through the reinforcement of behaviours that preserve social and moral
standards and punishment of behaviours which are associated with norm violations (Carpenter,
Matthews Ong ong a, 2004, Falk, Fehr Fischbacher, 2005, Hopfensitz Reuben 2009, Casari Luini
2012). One way of enforcing these norms is through the use of belief in supernatural agents (Ahmed
Salas, 2008). It has been suggested by some researchers that individuals with a belief in a form of
supernatural punishment can be used to promote prosocial behaviour (Norenzayan Shariff, 2008) and
can be achieved via due to two possible proximate mechanisms. Individuals who hold a belief in an
omnibenevolent being primes cultural norms which are associated with

  • 2. Using Video Games in the Classroom Video Games could be used in the classroom for a wide variety of different subjects, ranging from math, to science, to english and even in foreign language classes as many games that are made in different countries are in that country s own language. Of Course games are almost always translated into different languages so that people worldwide could play them but a foreign language teacher wouldn t find it too difficult to get ahold of a copy of a game in a foreign language. Music classes such as band or choir could even use video games such as Guitar Hero or Rock Band to teach their classes about different types of music and different artists and to involve students more in playing music and singing, this could even lead to some students entering a career in the world of music. A Science class could use the wonderfully challenging puzzle game Portal to teach students about physics, momentum and other gravity based mechanics. There are many different ways that video games could be used in the classroom, schools just need to figure out the best ways to implement them and make it work. There are quite a few benefits to using video games in education, one big one being students would be way more excited about learning through video games rather than through the standard way lessons are taught in most schools today. If students are actually looking forward to a lesson than their performance on the assignment is going to be greatly increased, students will actually want to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Mesoamerican Ball Game When people think of sports, some of the first things that come to mind are ball games such as football and basketball, cheerleaders, and expensive halftime shows. We rarely think about the origins of these organized games, which date back thousands of years to the subtropical regions of Central America. Today s sports fans have nothing on the Mayans. The Mesoamerican Ball Game is the oldest known sport in the Americas. It was a ritual, political and social activity that involved the whole community. The basic form consisted of two parallel mounds separated by a playing field, but the ball court evolved and took on an important variation with end zones forming an I shape (Foster, 2002, p.233). These structures had sloping walls and benches, where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The ball game was played for many reasons, including entertainment and competition. Because the losers were frequently sacrificed, ball games also served as a way to reenact wars with enemy peoples (Foster, 2002, p.195). To play, the ball is kept in the air by hitting it with the hips, thighs or upper arms and bouncing it of the side walls. The use of the hands or feet was forbidden. The solid rubber ball was extremely hard and causes serious injuries. The ball game participants wore padding on their forearms and knees as protection against the hard ball and even harder masonry surfaces of the ball courts (Foster, 2002, p.195). To protect ribs and the torso players would wear a U shaped belt or yoke. They were made out of leather or wicker. Hachas were axlike stone implements shaped like animal, bird, or human heads and worn inserted in the belt (Foster, 2002, p.195). It s also said that the motions of the ball were thought to parallel the motions of the sun, moon, and Venus as they rose through the sky and sank in the Underworld (Foster, 2002, p.195). Most people try to pick the career with the best financial gain and something they would like to do for the rest of their life. Foremost it is wise to see what the job entails. It is not necessary to be in a set position either as change is very common in this industry. The career of a sport management professional offers a large number of various positions. One such career is that of a director who specializes in promotion and development. Promotion and development directors are hired by sports teams and school athletic programs to design and implement promotional campaigns that will increase ticket sales (Sports Management 1). The biggest part of their job is to provide a profit for the organization they are working for. Directors set up opportunities for the sports team to make money off of sponsors. They also set up deals with advertisers to pay a sum of money in exchange for their ads or products to be listed or shown at their sporting event (Sports Management 1). Good advertising and production of cash flow go hand in hand while promotion directors try to help them to succeed. From the start, I decided to implement one of the main lessons I learned from my first visit, so I left my house with ample time to get to the venue, and accidentally arrived before the front of house engineer did. Luckily, there were a few assistant engineers there, and they let me in. One was an intern named Kyle from The Art Institutes of Philadelphia. The other was a guy that went by the name Badge. I later found out the he was the monitor engineer. Shortly after, Joe, the front of house engineer, showed up. They were all easy going guys. Before they set up the stage, they all worked on ... The band also had a DJ, who was placed on a riser upstage, stage right. I actually got to help patch that. We took the stereo outs, XLR, of his controller directly into the main patch. I am assuming that Joe meant the main snake when he said that. I gave him the cables and he took them under the stage, so I did not actually get to see where the other side was patched in. I followed him around while he finished setting things up on stage. There were for keyboards total. They were all patched as mono into different DI boxes. I asked him why mono instead of stereo, and he said that usually he would do stereo. However, in this case it was easier to do mono sends since keyboards would be changing position on the stage throughout the night. During this time he gave me the advice he says he gives everyone just coming into the business. Safety first. He told me that I did not want a sandbag to fall on someone, and to trust him on that. To Room Nineteen Crytical Analysis _ To Room Nineteen _ I plan to argue To Room Nineteen by Doris Lessing for an audience of professors interested in the field of psychology and it s affect on women s lives, stating that the cause of suicide for Ms. Dubois is not because of the social judgments and perception negatively that impacted Susan s domestic responsibilities but rather the lack of emotion within her life and her relationship with her husband, because she could live up to the ideals valued by culture and beliefs but deep down she married for the benefit of others and no love in their relationship or with her children. Also Sophie, the Rawlings household worker, replaced Susan s position in the family. Ever since Sophie was welcomed into the family, she has been more of a mother, wife, and mistress of the house than Susan, which caused her to feel out of place. She took lunch with Mrs. Parkes, Sophie, Sophie s Italian friend Maria, and her daughter Molly, and felt like a visitor. (2777) It gives her the impression that she was invisible and separated from her family. In addition, her four children require her complete attention to tend for them so that they would grow to be strong and healthy adults. She was breaking her part of the bargain and there was no way of forcing her to keep it: that her spirit, her soul, should live in this house, so that people in it could grow like plants in water, and Mrs. Parkes remain content in their service. (2772) As long as she s their mother, she will continuously put all her energy to raise her children. She could not deliver all these requests to nurture her children, so she decides to abandon her duties. Seclusion is a major aspect that influences a person to become odd and bizarre. Women s freedom and liberation are restrained because of the principles followed by customary lifestyles. Doris Lessing draws extensively on women s inner, private experiences and on their departure from the unsatisfactory reality of life in an alienated and alienating society. • 7. Health As Being Mentally And Physically Content With One... There are those who want to become a doctor to keep others healthy and those who want to become a counsellor to also, keep others healthy. This shows that trying to simplify the term health into one universal definition could be a difficult task. Physical health that can be tested through x rays and blood tests, issues such as mental and social health however cannot be tested. A person who is suffering from depression and a person who has a fever should hold the same level of importance to a doctor, parent and society. Health just like people can come in all different shapes and sizes. Health for everyone is not the same. This is shown in different teachings of different disciplines as well. The author defines health as being mentally and physically content with one s self. Philosophy is a study of problems, which are ultimate, abstract and very general. These problems are concerned with the nature of existence, knowledge, morality, reason and human purpose (Teichmann Evans, 1999, p.1). Famous philosophers such as Plato, Aristotle and Karl Marx all shared one common goal, which was to find the truth in certain human pneumonias. Philosophy is all about the truth of things. The philosophical understanding of public health consist of controversial ethical, political and social issues, including those related to vaccinations, the threat of pandemics and possible restrictions to individual liberties, public health research, screening and obesity policy (Dawson, 2008, ... Bullying was not an important subject that was paid much attention in schools or classrooms before 1999. When the Columbine and Virginia Tech shooting happened, schools did not have any anti bullying programs. In 1999, schools started to implement anti bullying programs like The Espelage Lab and Collaborator and many others. Unfortunately, bullying is still happening in nowadays. Emphasis on the Teacher Teachers Roles Teachers can be seen as authority figures, and can stand up for behavioral norms in classrooms (Veenstra, Lindenberg, Tinga, Ormell, 2010). When teachers are more involved in preventing bullying and help to create a positive environment, students can feel confident to talk to the teacher if there is a bullying problem (Veentra et al, 2014). Positive relationships between students and teachers can help strengthen anti bullying norms (Veentra et al, 2014). Programs to support teachers efficacy and attitudes are very important to help bullying victims in a classroom. Bullying incidents mostly take place on the playground, hallways, lunchroom, and other place where teachers are not around (Veenstra et al, 2014). Unfortunately, teachers are not able to support anti bullying norms while they are not around (Atlas, Pepler, 1998). Soon, in Physical Education, we were going to start our swimming unit. The more athletic kids loved this; needless to say, I didn t, and for one reason and one reason only; I never learned how to swim. When the day of the first swimming unit started, I felt scared, or perhaps that s my present emotions getting in the way of my past emotions. We entered the locker room and equipped ourselves with our swimming apparel and exited to the room with the pool. I could smell the chlorine in the air. Everyone in my class was seated on a large steel bench and divided into groups; Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Surprisingly enough, I was placed into the Intermediate group with two of my aforementioned friends. I felt a weird sense of pride as I walked past the others waiting to be assigned to a group with my new colleagues. Once everyone was assigned to a group, my group s instructor yelled out, Alright, get in the water and hold onto the side! We did as we told, but what I didn t know was that the height of the water in that area of the pool was greater than mine. Next, he barked, Alright, we re gonna swim to the deep end and back! I graduate this semester with my Associates of Applied Science degree in Accounting. The reason why I m in this field is because I always enjoyed numbers as a kid and accounting may be the best route to a successful business career because accounting has always been considered as the language and basic tool of business. I also feel the demand for accountants appears to be growing and exceeding job opportunities in today s business economy. Accounting opens doors in every single kind of business all around the world. It can give me the establishment I need to go on and become a CPA. It also can prepare me to become a potential partner in an accounting firm, to follow a career in finance or corporate management, to maybe work in government, or even to become an entrepreneur when I choose to retire. I feel no matter what I decide to do in life, having an accounting background can open opportunities for me. I also would be giving the opportunity to meet a diverse range of backgrounds such as coworkers, cliental and mentors. My older brother graduated from Monroe College with his associates in accounting. He ended up having kids and never progressed further in his accounting career. The smooth flow of blood reduces the chance of blood clots, heart attacks and brain strokes. Part II This project was aimed at creating some reasonable forecasts of the trend of gas prices in the United States in the next period of time, based on an analysis of a series of annual gas prices in the United States from 1982 to 2011. These observations are essential in our delivery business because so much of our expenses and overall operational costs are, in fact, based on the gas prices. The main objective of this project is, thus, to analyze the perspectives of the evolution of gas prices in the next period of time and, based on that, to determine potential preventive solutions that can help in lowering the impact of a significant increase in gasoline prices over the next years. As mentioned, the analysis was based on a time series with monthly gas prices from 1982 to 2011. Gas prices started at around $1.3 a gallon in 1982, with the prices still affected by the Iranian Revolution in 1979 and the limits imposed on imports from the Middle East because of that. In an overlook on the figures, these went below $1 a gallon from 1987 to 1989 and then again, in 1999. The story focuses on the round character by the name of Neddy Merrill who is in extreme denial about the reality of his life. He has lost his youth, wealth, and family yet only at the end of the story does he develop the most by experiencing a glimpse of realization on all that he has indeed lost. In the short story The Swimmer, John Cheever uses point of view, setting and symbolism to show the value of true relationships and the moments of life that are taken for granted. Cheever s usage of symbolism with the swimming pools and the round character greatly demonstrate the main theme of The Swimmer that indicates how life does change and will continue to inevitable do so no matter how much one may try to ignore it. Cheever also uses the consumption of alcohol throughout the story to symbolize Neddy s unhappiness. Neddy s desire for a drink grows stronger throughout the story especially when he is feeling weak and miserable which shows the true emotional state that he is in. According to Dr. Mark Jacob, 30 percent to 50 percent of people with alcoholism, at any given time, also are suffering from major depression... while alcohol often causes a good mood at first, it is a depression causing drug. The signs of alcohol abuse and the descriptions of the weather changing from summer to fall as well as the storm that passes thru are all symbolic examples representing the various circumstances in Neddy s life. Neddy once felt full of life and was only concerned about his own happiness. Once the storm appeared in the story the character suddenly felt lonely and was never the same for he only felt coldness from that moment on. • 16. Architecture Style And Architecture Of The Taj Mahal CHAPTER 1 1.0 INTRODUCTION A story makes an old building charming. In reality, a pleasing exterior view does not ensure people will be attracted to the particular heritage building. It is the story behind the heritage building that gives meaning to both building and people. As a heritage building, the building itself has been passed the test of time and becomes a typical landmark for a city. Hence, the story of the building explained its architecture style and structure which makes it be a remarkable building. For instance, Sultan Abdul Samad Building (SASB) has a unique architectural design which is the mixture of several architectural styles. This result is caused by the Charles Edwin Spooner, the state engineer of Public Work Department, Selangor, who worked in Ceylon before transferred to Selangor. He preferred to design a Mughal style building on a Classic Renaissance style ground plan which suggested by A.C. Norman. Moreover, British Victorian style is incorporated into this building s design as the British colonized Malaya. • 19. How John Coltrane Influenced Jazz The alto saxophonist, John Coltrane, was one of the most cultural ethical leaders of avant garde jazz, in the 1960 s. He was an innovative composer and artist who pushed the boundaries of contemporary jazz. Avant gardism liberated artists from the traditional form of jazz and pushed them to question and change the whole idea of jazz itself. Coltrane was the type of musician who believed that he could always be better than he already was. It was not unusual for someone to see him always practicing his music, he would practice for hours and hours a day. Coltrane mastered a lot of the different styles of jazz, because of this he went on to learn different types of music from different backgrounds so that he could use it to improvise his music. From all the jazz artist we have learned this semester, so far, Coltrane seems to be the one who had the greatest passion for jazz. For this, I admire his hard work and passion he had for jazz. Ideas like this had become more common since the enlightenment, though most were not this extreme in hoping the form religious unity. Another change that occurred during enlightenment was the education of women. During the time of Absolutism, women were seen as under their husband s authority and control. Women received minimal education and if they did by chance receive a higher education, they hardly had a voice of their own to advocate ideas. When the era of enlightenment arrived, many men started to realized the importance and value in a woman s education. One of the major examples of what a women s education can bring to society, was displayed through the career of Mary Wortley Montagu. Montagu was known for taking a public stance on inoculation, practicing it on her own children and introducing it before it became a common practice in Europe. Montagu traveled to many places in Europe and learned from her cultural experiences. The question of the Does liability follows a very similar analysis of that of the City of Milwaukee, with a few exceptions. First, Bongo s conduct in shooting the gun will likely be attributed to the Milwaukee Does as the operator of the event under the legal theory of respondeat superior. Second, in contrast to the City, the Does will likely not fall under a safe place because they do not own the arena. Rather, the Does will likely by subject to the traditional negligence standard of ordinary care. The legal theory of respondeat superior stands for the proposition that through vicarious liability a master may be liable for the acts of his or her servants in the course of his or her employment. Under this legal theory courts have found basketball teams labile for the actions of mascots employed by the team for the negligent acts of the mascot during the course of game. Accordingly, the Does can be found liable for the negligent acts of Bongo. A Wisconsin court is likely to find a team liable to spectators for the acts of its mascots and accordingly Taxpayer s recovery against the Milwaukee Does will likely be successful. Also, due to the presence of the LID in all INGs, we will study if ING5 and ING4 are capable of interacting with Lamin A in differentiating stem cells and the importance of this interaction to stem cell differentiation. To achieve these objectives, we will use three different mouse embryonic stem (ES) cell lines (R1, D3, E14), already present in the lab. In ongoing studies, it was noted that these cells presented all five of the ING genes with altered expression when they were induced to differentiate. We will first study if altering ING5 and ING4 expression using siING5 and siING4 to decrease it and pCI ING5, pCI ING4 to increase levels, will affect differentiation and the self renewal rate of these lines. The blood consists of four major parts including red blood cells. Blood is a fluid that is inhuman in order to survive. There are different purposed for the red blood cells that are used to keep the body healthy. Red blood cells have a protein that carries more oxygen molecules from the lungs to the body. Hemoglobin leaves the body and returns carbon dioxide to the lungs. Without out this, people will not survive. When the red blood cell pass through the blood vessels in your body the cell forms a shape of a round shape like a donut. It the center it looks flat. Red blood cells have a lack of the nucleus and survive about 120 days. Red blood cell needs to be replaced by fresh ones daily. Strengths And Weaknesses Of An Entrepreneur Essay Explain and critically analyze unique traits of an Entrepreneur, discuss these related to personal strengths and weaknesses Introduction Entrepreneurship is difficult to define throughout its history research. Even nowadays, this concept is still a debatable point (Rajendra, et al., 2017). Based on four decades of research, Gartner (1988) concludes that entrepreneurs are founders of new firms. Shane and Venkataraman (2000) consider entrepreneurship as a new venture s risk taking endeavor seeking an opportunity and Fortunato (2014) adds innovative value into the concept of entrepreneurship. Thus, research on the definition of entrepreneurship continue. According to those diverse views, I will interpret six unique entrepreneurial characteristics and theoretically analyze each one. Risk taker, need for achievement and proactivity as my strengthens will be illustrated with my experience. Innovativeness, internal locus of control and tolerance for ambiguity are my weaknesses, thus I will describe relevant successful Entrepreneurs experiences. Strengths Risk Taking Propensity Based on Knight s economics view (1921), risk taking is crucial to entrepreneurism. This view is supported by many classical theorists like Cantillon and Richard (1755) who explore that entrepreneurs bear risks or uncertainty to keep supply demand balance. • 30. The Myth Of Multitasking By Nass Summary Multitasking is an action where one person can ultimately act on two tasks or more at once. In the article, The Myth of Multitasking , Nass summarizes that the cause of this issue is simply that the human brain slows the thought process of doing multiple tasks at once instead of one task at a time. This conflict is important because it poses potential risks to us in a mental or physical way. We should teach the younger generation this valuable information which will reduce the amount of problems that deal with multitasking in the future. In Nass research, one of his arguments was that multitasking is a way to slow your mind down while succeeding in tasks slower than usual. People who chronically multitask show an enormous range of deficits. They re basically terrible at all sorts of cognitive tasks, including multitasking (Flatow). He says that these results show that people who believe that they are multitasking effectively aren t actually multitasking effectively. • 31. The Wrath Of God Vs. Big Brother The Wrath of God vs. Big Brother: Observational Effects of Cooperation in the Dictator Game (2000 words) General overview of plan A consistent finding within the paradigm of experimental games is that humans reward others who behave cooperatively and fairly (Gächter, Renner Sefton, 2008, Zimring, 1971) and often impose sanctions on those who fail to do so (Guala, 2012, Bankston Cramer, 1974). One potential means of implementing and maintaining fairness is through the maintenance of a cultural norm of fairness (Fehr Fischbacher, 2004). As human societies are often predicated repeated cooperative behaviours between genetically unrelated individuals (McKay, Efferson, Whitehouse Fehr, 2010) one possible explanation for large scale cooperation is through the reinforcement of behaviours that preserve social and moral standards and punishment of behaviours which are associated with norm violations (Carpenter, Matthews Ong ong a, 2004, Falk, Fehr Fischbacher, 2005, Hopfensitz Reuben 2009, Casari Luini 2012). One way of enforcing these norms is through the use of belief in supernatural agents (Ahmed Salas, 2008). It has been suggested by some researchers that individuals with a belief in a form of supernatural punishment can be used to promote prosocial behaviour (Norenzayan Shariff, 2008) and can be achieved via due to two possible proximate mechanisms.
