2. • Sheep and Goat husbandry is an important
component of mixed subsistence agriculture systems
• The Sheep and goat production system in the country
is mostly traditional type and the loss in the
production system is high to affect productivity.

3. A total of 96 fecal samples were collected directly from
rectum at the pasture site of Annapurna Rural
Municipality ward No:6 Myagdi district. The samples
were then examined both qualitatively and quantitatively
by the sedimentation and floatation methods as per
standard (Soulsby 1982; MAFF 1986).

4. Out of 96 fecal samples tested, 78.12% (75/96) samples
were positive for parasites.
Strongyloides (60/96) was predominant followed by
Moniezia (50/96), Strongyle (19/96) and Trichuris (11/96).
There was mixed parasitic infection with mean EPG of
833.33.

7. Higher infection with parasites (78.12%) could be due
to favorable environment.
EPG count of 833.33 indicates sub-clinical parasitism.

8. • Though there is subclinical parasitism, it is necessary to
perform regular de-worming as there is presence of
pathogenic worms such as Strongyloides and Moniezia at high
range.
