3. Benefits of Social Media
Your company is large than
play to social media so that
you target a large amount of
viewers. By doing so you are
playing to your strengths of
being a larger company.
You are reaching to those
people that want a specific
brand.
Social media gives exposure
to your brand.
4. Why Social Media
To get your brand seen-in 2010 there were several top players such as
Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, LinkedIn, YouTube, Digg, Stumble Upon,
Yahoo, Reedit, and Delicious
In 2011 YouTube and Tumblr were added.
5 more were added in 2012 such as Google +, slideshare, Quora,
Instagram and Pinterest.
In 2013 the list changed some and instead of giving you how many
were added they decided to give you the good, the bad and the
ugly of each site so that you can decide for yourself which social
media site was the best.
“One reason Social media is different from traditional marketing is
control vs. contributions. Traditional marketers seek to control the
content. Exclusivity agreements between retailer and suppliers are
an example; very seldom will you see Pepsi and coke products at a
restaurant due to brand agreements between parent
companies.(Barker, Barker and Bormann”
5. In 2003 Facebook launched and became
one of the first Social media networks.
As to date there are several more social
media networks out there. With the millions of
users of all the network companies should be
aware of the impact that social media has
on advertising campaigns in any of their
marketing efforts. Using social media would
be a big mistake for a company that doesn’t
use it just for the simple fact that millions of
people use social media and would see the
companies marketing efforts.
