Question 6
1. WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT
ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES FROM
THE PRODUCT OR
CONSTRUCTING THIS
PRODUCT?
Evaluation question 6
2. NEW TECHNOLOGY
• Doing this was a new experience and through out I got to use new software and
hardware that I had never had a chance the use before. Doing a magazine and
making it digitally had many tasks to be completed and many way to do and here is
a video on how I used Photoshop and in design which where the main software I
used to create and put together my magazine.
3. SOFTWARE
• For this I used 3 software's
• I used Photoshop to make the cover , content page and the article
• I used in design to put all of them together to make the magazine look like a
professional magazine
• I used word to write up the article that I would include
• Next is a small video and examples of how I used them to create my outcomes on in
design and Photoshop I used ….. Software to film some of the key thing i did using
photoshop to produce my fianle outcome
• The software i used was very important to the outcome as it helped me create and
put together the final product. I achieved parts of the production steps by helping
achieve the begining parts of magazine production
4. PHOTOSHOP
• To make my product I used photo shop this was the main software for the cover and
content page. On my blog there is some videos on how I used the software, what I
did and how I did it.
5. IN DESIGN
• This was how I put it together , I used this to make my 4 pages and put them
together. I also was able to make my article page. For my article it was easy as I was
able to make columns and to a title. There are some videos on the key aspects of
indesign I used
6. HARDWARE
• Software was a key part however hardware also was a main component with many
things I wouldn’t have been able to get my final product.
• Hardware I used
• A computer ( dell and mac )
• A camera ( cannon 700D )
• Scanner
Each software plays a key role and this is how…..
7. DELL COMPUTER
• To get my outcome I used different computers , they did many of the same things
however had slightly different impact on the work that I did.
• This was used to conduct research and other tasks to complete the magazine ,
although I could still use this to do editing, it was better to do this on the mac
computer. However the computer works
• The pros of using this computer was that it wasn’t completed and was easy to
navigate and had the right software
• The disadvantage of this is that it isn’t as updated and doesn’t have the same
quality as some software.
8. MAC COMPUTER
• I have used the mac computer to make my outcome, I used this to use my software
such as Photoshop and in design. This was the updated version and helped me get
the best outcome. It is simple to use once I learnt to navigate it
• Advantages is that It got me the best out come for what I’m doing
• The disadvantage for this is that I hadn’t used it much before so learning to use it
compare to the other computer posed a challenge it was also difficult to get
screenshots of images where as on other computers I can use snipping tool.
9. CAMERA
• I used a cannon 700D camera to take the photos for my magazine.
• The camera was great to use as of the options it provides, it worked for all the
different shoot locations. In the darker rooms the camera could be adjusted to
accommodate this. The settings which it provided where beneficial to taking photos
and getting the right out come.
• With this camera and a tripod it was easy enough to take straight centred photos,
which provided with the perfect shots.
• The storage was good and could handle the amount of shots and practice shots that I
did and was easy to edit and upload.
10. LIGHTS
To gain the right studio effect , I used three LED studio Lights. This helped me
produce the right tones and shadows I wanted. As the magazine was Halloween
themed and was based of a genre which has stereotypes of darker images , I didn’t
want to much light when taking the images so the background was darker. The lights
where adjustable and easy to use.
The lights where adjustable and I could change some of the setting on them. One of
them was intensity which is in % this can be adjusted to what I wanted it to be when
doing it and colour temperature I used was low.
11. LIGHT SET UP IN SHOOT LOCATIONS
This was the light set up for the main article. The hall lights where
turned off and we had these three focused on the screen. This provided
enough light to show the model however kept the area darker and also
highlighted the right parts
This was the layout I used for the cover and the content page, the
background was dark so it was suitable for the content page . This
made it suit the dark shadows and background I wanted for the
images. I used a similar layout of lights for all my photo shoots.
