2. Research and planning
Within the project I used a range of technologies.
For the research and planning stage one of my main helps was the internet, it provided me
with websites which would help me gain the knowledge I needed to do the appropriate
research to make my project. It also gave me varies multimedia methods of presenting my
work from the blog I documented my work to presentation websites. Some things I

needed to Watch trailers to be able to take information from them and get an idea of
conventions and what makes them effective. It also benefited me as I could do some
research to further my skills on software that I wasn’t familiar with such as premier
pro and after effects.

research in my research stage.
4. Social media
Social media had an influence on my project. I used social media to get
feedback from my target audience so I could improve my project to fit
what they and people similar would like. This means that the products
are more likely to appeal to who they are intended to If I form changes
around criticism. Social media also means I can get in contact with a
range of people of different ages , genders and ect. Getting a broader
range of feedback which benefits the effectiveness of my product as I
can appeal to more people. Increasing the audience who would watch
the movie when it comes out.
Ict holds a large capabilities and one of those is to gain insight from
people you have never met , this means that I can view reviews of
similar films and see what people thought. People can leave there
opinion about things , using # and comment sections I can look into
people opinions and use this as a method of research.
5. Skill development activities
To better my skills the internet and technology had a larger impact. I have some skill based
blog posts where I have furthered my skill using the help from online resources and school
resources .

To do this I used a range of help from online tutorials on YouTube , to step by step guides to
improving my skills as well as having help from teachers. These skill developments are all on
the blog.
Having a learning curve and expanding skill helps me grow as a creator and will improve the
quality of the things I make so this is why I made sure to focus on my skill before production
and through out
6. Showing my progress and work
I used it to make posts over my project I have used a range of platfroms to show work
such as WIX , Prezi and sway. On top of this I used Microsoft software such as word
and power points to present information. This is an effective way to present and
easily share while and brining it to one place using blogger.
I used word to help organise my work such as ideas, planning and ways of creating
important documents. Its simple and is easy to use and is good for a method to display
information. I found it was good for work I also needed to bring such as scripts to take
to sets so it helped productivity.
I used excel to analysis feedback from questionnaires as it could visually represent the
data collected and show it in an easy way to understand.
I also used YouTube to upload production logos I made and my trailer as well as a
rough cut.
To upload other work such as word I used slideshare.
8. Construction
To make film the trailer I used a canno Camera, The camera worked well as it had
many use full features it had zoom options which helped with close ups. I used a
tripod to make sure shots where steady and level and also the tripod has a handle
which I could use to move the camera in shots and keep steady. This was good for the
panning shots. I used a microphone as it picked up ambient sounds I could use plus
was good for capturing the dialogue
For making my product I used a range of software as well which I will describe in more
detail In the next slide.
To show progress of my construction YouTube played a large role as I could upload
changed versions.
9. After effects
I used after effects to make the logos of the indie production companies involved with
the movie. I had a lot of learning to do and that was a challenge however it paid of as
how good and professional the software has endless features and tools to work with

10. Premier pro
I used premier pro as the main software for my trailer. I also used it to make an animatic and used it as a
multimedia platform for an evaluation question. It’s a great software which has effective features like transitions,
effects , changing speeds of clips and the colour. It provides you with all the tools you need to make an effective
trailer
Advanatges Disadvaatges
Its is very popular and there are any tutorials and guides on the
basics , shortcuts and cool things you can do helping me
develop as a creator.
I have never used it before so had to spend more time testing
and do more research.
Is an editing software at a professional standard Isn't as good as after effects at motion graphics ( as for
construction of production titles)
Is a multimedia platform with sound , video , images and ect
Once comfortable it is easy to use with a good user interface.
Offers effects and motion graphics. Which can be incorporated
in the trailer construction
Offers editing on clips such as speed , duration , colour
correction which I can use to create the effects I want.
11. Photoshop
I used Photoshop for both my auxiliary tasks and it proved to be a suitable and useful software for my
construction. It is popular as it works well providing many useful tools to create my poster and magazine as well as
using it within other subjects and media before.
Even though I have used it before it still gave me the opportunity to learn new things and try new effects. Here are
some advanages and disadvantages I found and considered.
Advantages Disadvantages
The software is organised which works with my personality
as someone who likes to have things organised but also
helps make production go smoothly.
Compatibility- with the different versions within the school
in some rooms it may not be updated which causes
problems with features and layers and can hinder editing in
some rooms
Easy user interface- The way the tools and the software are
laid out makes it easy to use. Short cuts also help with fast
editing and
As a very popular software there are numerous tutorials and
guides to help you.
I could save numerous copies to show progress
I could use it to make my own props saving money and
making it more customised
I have previous experience with the software
12. Why I didn’t use other software
Indesign- I considered using this for my magazine as I could have laid the pages out
to represent the cover and then the back of the magazine however I didn’t think it
had enough features. It would have worked well with text but would have lacked in
photo editing which is a key aspect to my products
Lightworks ( video editing) – I conducted research in software which would be apt in
editing my trailer. Light works is free and to a professional standard however the
school provides good software for a professional standard and I don’t need to worry
about the cost. I knew less peopled who used this so couldn’t get more information
on it than online. The software is less well known so there would probably be less
resources. And as mentioned on slide 11 there are many pros to using Premier pro.
13. Final overview
Research- I used a lot to create effective and useful research , I used online resources
to find information and also present the research I founded. I used many different
websites ranging from IMDB to Empire magazine to conduct research and I used
various methods of software and websites to present my findings. I also used
websites to make questionnaires and gain feedback in other ways.
Planning- To keep organized and easily follow the schedule planning was an essential
stage to success. It meant I could update ideas , change ideas and be able to look at
the progress and development of the products I made. It also meant I could make
legal documents such as consent forms. Lastly in the planning stage I used software to
make an animatic to give me a base for my trailer which really helped me envision
something while filming
14. Construction- As one of the more difficult stages in the project for my self , online
tutorials and guides helped massively to feel more confident about my work. I also
used hardware to film, it was easy to use and got the best outcome. In addition the
software available meant that I could edit my footage and create the plans I had
made.
Evaluation- the resources available provide multimedia methods of showing progress
and reflection on my own work. There are also multiple ways of gaining feedback on
my products which benefit me as it can help me develop as a person and improve
what I make.
