USES
📌In China Dendrobium is used as a source of tonic astringent, analgesic and anti
inflammatory substances.
📌In India in the preparation of ‘Chyavanprash’ four orchids is used.
📌Round the world it is used to care rheumatism, malaria, tuberculoris, cuts, wounds
and burn injuries, asthama nad several other ailments

📌 Division of Clumps , keikis, back bulbs &tissue culture plant

bricks & tiles, coconut husk &fibre
NUTRIENDS
♦️ Foliar application of NPK 20:10:10@ 0.2%at weekly intervals starting from 30 days after
planting
♦️Foliar feeding of NPK 17:17:17 complex
IRRIGATION
♦️ Mist or overhead sprinkler to provide water and to maintain humidity
Growth regulators
♦️Foliar application ofGA3 50ppm at bimonthly intervals starting from 30days
after planting
REPOTTING
♦️ Orchids need repotting regularly, usually every two to three years
♦️ The plant grows large and overgrows container
♦️ The potting material deteriorates
♦️ The plant has to be split or divided
♦️ The pest time repotting is when fresh roots emerge at bases of the previous year’s growth
HARVESTING
♦️Dendrobium flower fully mature 3-4days after opens
♦️Flower harvested from fully open flower
♦️ Immediately after harvest the lower 0.75 peduncle cut off flower
♦️ Flowers is inserted into a fresh tube water containing preservative
♦️ The spike 75 percent of the flower are open and remaining buds unoppen
♦️Yield: 8- 10 spikes /plant/year
POST HARVEST HANDLING
📌Pulsing : 8-hydroxyquinoline citrate 500 ppm + Sucrose 5% for 12 hrs
📌Holding solution : silver nitrate 25ppm + 8-HQC 400 ppm + Sucrose 5%
📌Wrapping material : 50 gauge polythene with base of spikes dipped in 8-HQC 25 ppm

Hand pick and destroy them immediately
Diseases :
📌Bacterial soft and Brown rot (Ervinia spp.) Foliar application with Streptomycin
Sulphate @ 0.5 g + Copper Oxy Chloride @ 2 g/l.
📌Bacterial Brown spot (Acidovorax sp.) Foliar application with Streptomycin sulphate @
0.5 g + Copper Oxy Chloride @ 2 g/l.
📌 Black rot (Pythiumsp.and Phytothora sp.)
Foliar application of Metalaxyl 2 g/lit. (or) Dimethomorph 50% WP 0.5 g /lit.

Foliar application of Thiophanate Methyl 2 g/1 (or) Difenoconazole 0.5 ml/lit
